Cardinal Francis eyes the paper, gives it a single "Huh," before the Clergyman rolls it up in a ball and dunks it in his cloth-covered waste basket. "Truly misguided," he sounds with a shake of his head before suffering a small, but painful gout attack.

To the devout Brother Faustus, @GoldWolf

Your Eminence, the Vice-chancellor and Patriarch of Jorenus,
I hope this finds you well. I have received an application from a young man named Omari, who wishes to serve within the Kingdom of Haense as a monk. I hope you can reach out to the boy, and guide him on the monastic path. If you are not able to, I can reach out to him myself.

Spoiler♰ To Pledge Oneself to GOD ♰
A devout Canonist receiving the rite of Ordination, circa 1850 | 403 ES
“To commit yourself entirely to God is to live according to His virtue in its entirety. Forsaking the pleasures that God has granted for a simpler life, of both hardships and struggles. To serve God is to promulgate His virtue through deeds and dialogue. As a servant of God, it is your responsibility to preserve the integrity of the flock.”
- Venerable Cardinal Anders,
former Prelate of the Clergy
There is no calling more virtuous than pledging oneself to GOD and embracing His love and virtue. Each Canonist has their way to show devotion to GOD. The Holy Knight fights for his faith against those who threaten to destroy it. The humble farmer works diligently to feed his children. The Priest preaches and shares the love of GOD.
Of those ways to show one’s devotion, the one this letter concerns is the Priest. Our Priests of the Canon are successors to the ancient Priests of Owyn. those virtuous Harrenite freemen and the modern Priest may have little in common, but they share a deep love for GOD and His word. When Owyn anointed the brothers Evaristus and Clement as bearers of the laurel of Horen, he made a promise to Humanity. A promise that there will always be a Church, and there will always be a Keeper of the Canon.
I do not take this promise lightly, nor will I stop protecting the promise made by Owyn so many centuries ago. We priests of the Canon bear a great burden: the burden of our flock, the burden of our promise, the burden of our faith. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Now, I will not say otherwise: the job of a Priest is not an easy one. It requires deep devotion and constant humility. There are times you question why you got ordained, and your faith will falter at times. But, it is also a deeply rewarding, deeply spiritual calling.
So I ask of you: does that sound like something you want? Is that the path GOD has put you on? Be you Human or Orc, male or female, there is a place for you in the Clergy.
Francis Cardinal Albarosa,
Archbishop of Albarosa, Prelate of the Clergy
6th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1850
You push open the large, wooden door to your local Church and step into the foyer. Murals and stained glass windows line the sides of the room, breathing colour into every corner. Most of the individuals portrayed in the Murals you recognize: the Exalted, High Pontiff Saint Daniel I, Saint Jude, Saint Julia, Saint Catherine, and many more. Those devout Canonists you’ve looked up to all your life. You know this is the right decision.
As you approach the desk, the middle-aged lady sitting at it offers you a kind and warm smile. One of the first female Priests. “Do you want to join our Church?” She asks, hope in her eyes. You offer a nod and she cracks a big, bright smile. “Wonderful,” she exclaims. The Priest takes out a piece of paper and pen, and then she looks up to you with big, happy eyes. “I’ll ask you a few questions, dear,” she chimes, before starting:
Alright, what is your Baptismal name?

She smiles as she shakes your hand. “I am sure we will hear back quite soon, dear,” she assures you. You exit the Church with nervous excitement. A new chapter of your life is about to begin.

A man that it concerns in the upmost, The Prelate of the Clergy, smiles as he reads the affirmation. "Of course I will offer penance," he declares.

Cardinal Francis blinks a few times. He stumbles up from his chair and desk, spilling his afternoon tea all over a copy of the Public Letter. "Wha-.. I.. Wher-.. how.. wha-?" He manages in abject confusion. He takes his spectacles off to massage the bridge of his nose and mutters "Good GOD, I need a nap."

Cardinal Francis picks up the notice, and declares "Now this.. This is a Barclay bargain."

To the devout Brother Erhard,

Albarosa est Fidelis
Francis Cardinal Brown, Archbishop of Albarosa, Prelate to the One True Clergy
14th of Sigismund’s End, 1849
“‘O James, pious son of the Lord, I have seen the glory of God in your heart and His word on your tongue. You will be my high priest, as in the days of Evaristus and Clement. I name you pontifex, for you are a builder of bridges.’”
(Gospel 6:59-61)
It is with the heaviest of hearts We pen this declaration of loyalty. We wish it were different, We wish this was not needed, but alas it is. Thus, We will keep this brief and to the point. Albarosa, and her Archbishop remains and will forever remain loyal to Everard VI and his GOD-chosen successors. We reject the Michaelite heresy and call upon its misguided followers to return to the light of GOD and His Holy Mother Church.
Deus Magnus!
Deus Vult!
TMR, His Eminence, Fr. Francis Cardinal Albarosa

"GOD bless Everard VI, and may GOD have mercy on these traitors," Cardinal Francis pronounces, before clasping his hands together in prayer.

Cardinal Francis cracks a smile. "Oh.. I have waited for this moment for a long time. Let it be a light in these turbulent times," he utters.

Cardinal Francis smiles brightly as his former student ascends to the rank of Metropolitan.

The Acting Chief Commandant Jarad Munnel Vuillerian would look at Recruit O'Rourke "No not being able to hit a dwarf with a sword does not get you out of training." he would shake his head and hand the recruit a spear "If reach is the problem then use this Recruit" he would chuckle "i will admit they are very very small, almost like fun sized dolls"
Michael takes the spear, and promptly impales a Dwarf-sized training dummy. Straw flies out the back of the new stab wound, and the fake beard of wool falls off at the force of the blow. "Much better, Corporal, t'anks!" He exclaims.

Recruit O'Rourke tries to explain to his commanding officer that he cant reach low enough to hit a Dwarf with his sword. This does not get him out of training.

Michael O'Rourke was tentative at first. "W'at 'bout Philip II?" He asked upon hearing the news that the new Emperor, Philip III, would arrive soon. He joined his red-coated brothers as they crossed the bridge, and met the Savoyard and Philippian host.
The banner-bearing Michael broke formation and stood before the two sides, confusion weighing upon his heart and loyalties. He flicked his green gaze between the two armies, and his banner danced in the early morning light. Then, suddenly he was dragged to the side of the young claimant, and he was caught up in the romance and excitement of the Glorious Revolution.
Next thing he knows, he's standing in front of the throne, declaring "Behold, yer Emperor!"
