    javelin of malflame

A Naztherak squints at the paper, rubbing his eye, squinting again. "This has to be a misunderstanding, right? If they're going to write a paper on the matter, at least get the culprits correct! Dragonkin do not spew malflame. At least, I don't think they can." and the man leans aside, presenting a copy of the paper to a companion of his.  "Honestly, can you believe these people? I ought to write a complaint to the publisher of this letter." @Kiiztria

When you gank someone, they don't remember anything, and their character doesn't take the interaction with them

this is extremely true and I wish it was an idea more people on the server would foster

killing people should not be the ultimate solution to any and all encounters that are remotely villainous or conflict related. of course there are times where some characters die out of necessity, and there are points in RP that simply call for it or it becomes impossible to justify not doing it, but we as the players have control over the story and narrative. the killing of characters especially becomes weightless when we consider how unimpactful dying actually is on the server due to monk revival mechanics, so you're essentially just snuffing out any and all potential avenues of RP for the opposing party and preventing the pursuit of a narrative

regardless I'm glad to see this talking point being brought up

  4. Castiel slides past two sets of shoulders blocking the bulletin. His eye caught a passing glance of words — Kruger, Paladin. A hand lofts to retrieve the paper, ripping free a corner or two. He scrutinizes its contents for a moment, before lifting his chin to glance around the expanse. The paper is folded twice, before being carefully stuffed into the swathe of his attire before making haste.

The fallen dragonkin is able to morph their appearance to be perceived as an assortment of  other monsters. Their inner flame will seep out of their bodies and cast over their skin to appear more frightening. This ability is more free-form, though the Corrupted does not grow in height.

I've never been a fan of lore enforced fear rp for reasons I've stated in the past, such as encouraging lazy rp wherein players just expect the rules or magic to do the work for them instead of actually going through the effort of having an intimidating character and fostering genuine fear rp, on top of the fact that especially picky players could use things like this as a means to force reactions upon other ppl OOCly when they don't respond "properly."

im assuming that this spell is purely a self-contained illusion and doesn't actually induce fear in other people as the name suggests, so if that's the case I'd suggest possibly adding a redline that clarifies it as such if the intention isn't to make it actually influence the fear levels of other characters

If someone really did want to avoid getting murdered
    irp and irl

    this is good advice.

good thing that "advice" is neither a character based fear nor irl circumstance. we shouldn't shove our characters into a metal box and do everything in our power to avoid interaction in a world built on interaction, because at that point you're guaranteed to be an OOC headache to anyone who tries to do something with you in a way that negatively impacts your character. and at that point it's not about an IC paranoia of being murdered, it's an irrational OOC fear

If you didn’t enjoy an event due to unfair CRP, the problem lies with the DM, not general honour CRP.

    this

honor CRP is very different from event combat given the DM can literally play god and force things, no matter how outlandish, on your character for any number of reasons

but that doesn't make your disappointment any less valid. players are still deserving of fun and enjoyable RP even in an environment as controlled as an event, and even if you weren't killed, the frustration is understandable. nobody likes doing *is unconscious* RP for 6 rounds

no combat encounter you have on the server will be the same. much like any other niche of RP, it has its highs and lows. some combat is subpar if not torturous, but if you find the right players who are willing to reciprocate a narrative, it could end up being one of the most memorable encounters you have on the server

the fact it was literally a 16x16 pit that was reset by clicking a sign. we're better than that now. we can have nicer looking / functioning systems now other than that.

but why? its literally just upgrading for the sake of upgrading (if it can even be called an upgrade?), and there's a large handful of players who obviously preferred resource pits over whatever kind of hamfisted, forced-immersion resource gathering we have right now. we dont need to make things more technological than the need to be if there was nothing even functionally WRONG with resource pits in the first place, and this reasoning makes me even more confused as to why it's suddenly not even an option at this point

in regards to tiles: please force some sort of upkeep upon them, it's frustrating to see certain nations own half the map with the only thing of note in any given tile is a singular mansion with less than 0.1% activity. nations should have a REASON to expand, and a reason to keep the tiles. especially when other things could be set up there, like independent settlements, lairs not under a nation, etc.
