Whether I was the bandit or the one being bandited, I generally had a lot of fun. It created good roleplay for me and my groups, giving us a common minor antagonist that could be fun to go up against. Unfortunately, I have found that instead of good quality emotes of being attacked or stabbed, it’s simple one line emotes along with a d20 after. Whether I’m dying or just being robbed, I feel that its really just the quality of the roleplay that needs to be changed a bit. Because banditing is a big part of road and travel RP and I find that the server is a lot more interesting because of it. When it is done right, of course.

I edited some of the tier three fire evocation spells to be performed in less emotes at T5. However, a lot of the more powerful spells make sense to take more emotes to perform.

Fire Evocation Ever since the discovery of fire, descendants have strived to be able to control it. Whether it be used to warm oneself at the fireside, to lighting an enemy camp aflame, fire was always a very important part of descendant development. As magic was discovered, so was the use of flame in voidal evocation, the very element which descendants strived to control now within their grasp. The Limits of Flame Over the years, mages have become more adept and skilled with their craft, able to create wondrous feats of both beauty and chaos. Soon, the abilities to conjure pure smoke and heat were discovered. Though even with their current knowledge, mages continued to delve deeper and test the very limits of evoked flame. Eventually, blue flame was discovered. It was twice as hot and required twice as much mana to maintain as any regular flame. But even then many scholars were not satisfied, and eventually white flame was discovered at the expense of a young masters very life for it was too hot and required too much mana to maintain. This appeared to be the barrier of fire evocation, though this did not stop mages from using their fire in even more creative ways. Learning and Casting The art of fire evocation, like all Voidal evocations, is one based off of much study and repetition. To even consider learning fire evocation, one must study flames in great depth. The scholar must study and truly understand how real flames act and react to certain situations. In order to summon fire from the Void, assuming they have learned how and have studied fire itself, they must picture the flame they wish to cast in their mind and then pull it from the Void where they wish as long as the destination is within their line of sight. A mage must also have an adequate amount of concentration in order to evoke the flame, as the fire can be just as deadly to the caster as it is to the target. Many young mages have been killed by their own flame due to lack of concentration or control. Tier List Combat Spells The following is a list of predisposed spells which one can use in a combat scenario. This does not mean, however, that these are the only spells one is limited to outside of combat. For aesthetic purposes, these spells can be charged however one wishes as long as they do not break any of the redlines stated and still possess the same effect. The total emotes includes a connecting emote as well. Fireball – T3 || 3 Emote Smoke Screen – T3 || 4 Emotes Flamethrower – T3 || 4 Emotes Heat – T3 || 4 Emotes Fire Pillar – T4 || 4 Emotes Wall of Flames – T4 || 4 Emotes Ring of Fire – T4 || 4 Emotes Fireblast – T5 || 5 Emotes Fire Storm – T5 || 10 Emotes Overall Guides and Redlines OOC Reasoning Fire evocation, and evocation in general, allows for the caster to utilize lots of creativity in their casting. However, fire evocation did not have many limits besides shape and ‘emoting exhaustion’. Though because of this vagueness, it has been hard for players to recognize powergaming in spells and sometimes the caster isn’t even aware that they are doing it. Do note that, while combat spells are limited to the spells listed in this lore piece, I did not seek to take away the creative aspect of this evocation. That is why I did not give a specific list for out of combat spells. This means that a mage can allow their imagination to run wild as long as they stay within the limits of their tier and emote effects of their casting accordingly.
