as a person who played kha for a long while and co-lead them, yes. you are right.

we've dealt with so many people wanting catgirl girlfriends :I its gross

so few people cared for kharajyr lore and instead just wanted to larp as "cute kittens" :I

    kha are cursed

people will do it regardless of CA or not, as we've seen kha were always CA yet still so many furries wanting them. nothing will stop their dedication
just bully them out of it

I regard CA's for characters like these to be a better form of documentation for ST, and to ensure the player is well-equipped to even RP the character.  I've written a musin CA before and it honestly wasn't too difficult, ST just want to be assured you've got an understanding of the lore before letting you RP the niche.  Musin, Kha, and Ologs aren't as basic/straightforward as the regular Descendants races--which is something a new player on the server is required to start out with, before they explore with applications to magics and CA's.

Opening up the lore entirely can actually be a risk for increased low-tier RP, because now there is no obstacle blocking it.  Some Musin have advantages with their smaller sizes compared to descendants, same with Ologs having broken strength.  "don't punish the collective then" can be a counter to this, but there have been actual cases in the past where lore has been shelved due to an increase of awful RP surrounding it.

due to how simple their lore is, they can be written up as a CA by really anyone, even subpar and shitty RPers, and there are many cases of that. the reason i'm against an application wall being put to to these races is due to how useless it is seeing how they really dont get shit for benefits, drawbacks and insane lore size to memorize that puts them on the level of an actual CA

making it a hindrance for people to play these beast races then complaining that theyre not that active is not the way to go

you kinda need an understanding to play ANY race in general. you need to know orcs are just much stronger than anyone else and go in rage, that humans live for much less than other people, that elves live practically forever and are infertile, etc

also yea olog should remain CA but they arent really beastmen so doesnt matter in this post

I see what you mean there, but musin and kha and other beast races can take those high level of quality RP avenues too and thus the signing of that little section. Maybe not to the degree one would expect a Lich or some other endgame CA to act but still high level avenues can be taken

still not valid to warrant a CA, there are gonna be good and bad actors everywhere, even people who make a CA. but locking them behind something that will sabotage activity is not healthy

While this would be nice I feel having a CA adds a little bit of a barrier to the community that is both good and bad for the same reason.

It keeps out lazy and bad players from picking up the CA, but with the use of AI these same players can get in still with relative ease. For transformation based CAs I can see this issue coming up less as they are approved and let in by a community of players. But this is about beast-men and I think just anyone being able to apply and sign basically a contract saying to roleplay to the best of their ability is a great thing, not only because everyone when joining said they’d adhere to server roleplay standards but because a creature application reinforces it as well with the do you understand you are responsible for your roleplay section and you will have consequences if you are caught breaking them.

But this also discourages good players who want to pick up the CA along with the communities who promote them. It adds the application as an obstacle that confuses plenty. I mean why are musin in the transformed category? It makes no sense.

It is the same obstacle for all players who want to have a CA, same process, same lore.

i think its a bit nonsensical to have people summarize the lore of a race and 'sign a contract' that they will be upholding CA-level RP when they just wanna roleplay a cute musin working in a bakery, it should be left exclusively for things that NEED that level of high quality RP due to the give and take required and the many pages of lore to be understood before playing it

but a walking cat? it should be treated on the same level as other normal races

to limit meme rp, even with CA alot of people that play ologs and kha's do, just imagine how bad it'll be if it was not locked behind a CA

people who meme rp will meme rp regardless of the race
people who powergame will powergame regardless of the race

orcs are objectively the strongest and most powergameable race (aside from olog) yet you dont see people wanting to throw them behind a ca because "people might powergame their bloodlust curse!" yet things such as a kha that are just furry people with claws are somehow a worry ?

limiting beast races that provide barely any benefits that warrant a CA because "someone might meme rp" and therefore sabotaging the activity of those communities is not healthy

  6. i like the idea of restricting rokodra to naz/inferi only

but i feel like its a bit nonsensical to make fws who are walking ice to feel cold by an armor. how does it work when a frost mother who's made of pure ice touches rokodra? how does it numb ice?

might be better to give another magical reason as to why they can't wear it, such as mental ailments that would plague them upon wearing, or the armor not functioning beyond mundane ferrum unless worn by inferi/naztherak, etc

[!] This is a prophetic vision accessible to seers, naztherak, farseer shamans, vivification clairvoyants, and mystics with hexing per Prophecy lore.

    ———«»————————————«»————————————«»———

Whispers rode the gales of the North, a prelude to the tempest's song. Eyes closed, the dreamer stood amidst the genesis of a storm, the world around them a canvas of white, each snowflake a harbinger of a foreseen cataclysm.

    Hark.

The wind's howl crescendoed, a dissonant choir against the silence of the falling snow, carried amidst these winds, disturbing, guttural chanting. Snowflakes spun into a frenzied dance, transforming into shards of ice, heralding the beginning of a ruthless hail.

    Hark.

Beneath the dreamer's feet, the snow, once soft and yielding, became a treacherous mirror of ice, reflecting a sky burdened with omens. The air, charged with the scent of upheaval, was alive with whispers of an old chant - a language not spoken by the living, a message not meant for the uninitiated.

    Hark.

Chaos unfurled its wings, each beat a thunderous drum, a call to the elements. The dreamer, a lone sentinel, bore witness as the world surrendered to entropy's embrace. Around them, an orchestra of nature played the symphony of the end: the cracking of trees, the roar of winds, the relentless assault of hail upon the earth.

    Hark, the prophecy unveils.

Through the veil of white and tumult, a vision: a land not yet touched by the sun's warmth, a throne of ice awaiting its sovereign. The dreamer's breath became a mist, each exhalation a solemn vow of silence, for to speak of the vision was to invite the storm into one's soul.

    Awaken.

And as quickly as the chaos came, it receded into the realm of slumber. The dreamer's eyes opened, not to the serenity of their own world, but to the chilling certainty that the prophecy was not a mere figment of sleep - it was a premonition of what was to come, a future written in the frost, a destiny whispered by the northern winds. The storm throughout the frozen lands was coming, and with it, a reckoning.

    MART VERSION:

A two-handed greatsword, spanning a total of 150-cm. Its blade is forged of Azhl, smooth like marble, a matte polish the blade had a bizarre sheen, almost completely unseen in the dark. Double-edged and straight with a taper towards the top, the blade felt well balanced, the fuller running down its centre allowing it to be lighter while retaining its strength. A bizarre crossguard surmounted the weapon, it coiled in both directions, the metal bent and twisted. Below it, a simple velvet, leather wrapped handle, and finally capped off with a bevel disk-shaped Pommel.

Oddly enough, Fjarriagua would find themselves capable of wielding it, its weight adapting to their capabilities, while feeling too heavy for anyone else to wield. Should a Fjarriagua wield it, she will find herself overtaken by incessant whispers, begging her for her essence, for her blood.

The blade gave off an ominous presence as though something lingered within it. The blade inflicts rendering wounds, causing profuse bleeding and blight upon its victims.

"Tendrils of ice grasped the Chosen’s greatsword, as it hovered before the Frost Mother. A long, icy claw traced that blade along its length. A token of their cooperation."

    -

As the gale howled its mournful dirge, three figures were brought forth, their forms shadowed and bent, ensnared not just by physical bonds but by the palpable dread of their impending doom. These were the offerings, the chosen tributes to seal a pact. Naele, with eyes that mirrored the frostbitten landscape, surveyed them with a gaze that promised oblivion.

It was then that the Golden-Masked Harrower emerged from the gloom, his visage a mask of eerie serenity amidst the chaos of the storm. In his hand, he bore the Greatsword, a weapon of legend, its blade gave off an ominous presence, as though something resided within. A darkness, that seemed to pulse in rhythm with the beating hearts of those present. The Chosen’s Greatsword, now lay before the coven, an offer of alliance and power.

The exchange was silent, the air thick with the weight of unspoken agreements. As the Harrower passed the Greatsword to the Frost Mother, the ground itself seemed to acknowledge the magnitude of this moment, tendrils of ice conjured from the snow grasping that weapon as if in reverence.

The three captured souls, shrouded in the inevitability of their fate, were led away into the darkness, their silhouettes swallowed by the darkness. The cages that awaited them were not mere physical constructs but vessels of a grim purpose, each bar a silent witness to the sacrifice they were to become.

Naele, the Frost Mother, her task with the Harrowers complete, returned to her Frost Altar, where she sought to corrupt that sword. By trapping a portion of her very essence, amplified by both the altar and the Mirror Shard that she possesses.

And so it awakened. The Harrowing Frost. A greatsword, whose whispers are laced with frost, grown with an insatiable hunter for the blood of a Fjarriagua. For her very essence, whispering into her very mind.

    MOTHER-HARROWER PACT

Those aiming to wield this weapon, oddly enough, will find themselves unable to lift it from the ground, as if extremely heavy. Fjarriagua, on the other hand, are fully capable of wielding it, including Mothers, its weight adjusting to their comfort.

This corrupted weapon, no longer longs for mere blood, but rather the corrupted blood of a Fjarriagua- or essence, in the case of a Mother. Upon making contact with such, the weapon will grow a frosted sheen to it, as bits of snow begin to flake off from it, and an odd, looming sense of a presence being felt by all those [5] meters around that greatsword, a barely-visible shadow shrouding that weapon. Almost as if something stared at them back, should they look its way.

This frosted sheen looks darker in nature, almost reaching pitch black - similarly to Cursed Ice - allowing blue or purple undertones, draining the Fjarriagua on a magical level as if she casted Ice Projectile.

The greatsword, upon striking flesh, will immediately inflict it with stage 2 frostbite, causing reddening of the skin, and the sensation of pins and needles around the wound. Such an effect will only last for [2] emotes, and may be extended so long as it continues to make contact with blood. Although, due to the frostbite affecting the wound, they will find themselves bleeding less profusely than typical, at about 3/4th the pace. Only to return to normal bleeding should they clear themselves of the frostbite through any means.

    «»

Should this weapon’s Passive be active, then the Fjarriagua may shape the already-present ice through casting Conjure Hoarfrost, shaving off [1] singular emote required for its casting due to that corrupted sheen already being present. Should its corrupted sheen be present, then the whispers may be transferred through the arc expelled by the Conjure Hoarfrost ability.

All those struck by this weapon with the sheen active, or struck by its arc through Conjure Hoarfrost, will find whispers echoing within their ears, regardless of whether it hits armor or flesh. Incomprehensible, yet unsettling. The Fjarriagua may optionally whisper words into that greatsword, allowing its transferral to whomever makes contact with it.

    «»

Should that weapon be destroyed, or taken away by anyone that is not Fjarriagua, then it may be summoned forth once more through the Sabbath of Creation, following its mechanics and redlines.

    Redlines:

-The frosted sheen (and its corrupted variant), specs of ice falling on the ground, the feeling of the presence and shadowy effects are all aesthetic in nature.

-When the frosted sheen is visible, it means that the Passive is active, and therefore will inflict stage [2] frostbite on strike.

-Corrupted frosted sheen will inflict whispers to people’s ears, to no combative advantage, rather merely a flavorful addition. May optionally whisper directly to that weapon, transferring these specific whispers on strike.

-Should it not continue sapping the Fjarriagua’s blood for [2] emotes, it will lose its effect.

-Mothers and Fjarriagua alike may wield it effortlessly, its weight adjusting to fit their strength.

-Should a Fjarriagua harm herself to feed the weapon, she will drain herself to an equal amount as if casting Ice Projectile, following her exhaustion system.

-Conjure Hoarfrost may be casted, reduced by [1] emote total should the sheen be active.

Expelling Conjure Hoarfrost in an arc will clear the sheen from the weapon.

-Bleeding from being cut by this weapon with the sheen active is 3/4th the pace, due to being affected by frostbite.

-If a Fjarriagua possesses that weapon, no other Fjarriagua may re-summon that weapon through the Sabbath of Creation. It may only be done when it's either destroyed or possessed by any non-Fjarriagua

    LINGERING BITE

Those frostbitten by the weapon through either being physically struck or through using it with Conjure Hoarfrost will quickly realize that the frostbite does not seem to go away on its own, at least not for [3] OOC days.

While the wounds may be healed, the frostbite will remain present, causing the skin to grow pale, and/or reddened, suffering from stage 2 frostbite. While mild in nature, it manifests in the sensation of pins and needles.

    Redlines:

-The effects last for [3] OOC days, but may be dealt with prematurely through purging by deific magics, or through druids performing blight healing.

-The frostbite may be stage 2 at the lowest. Mild in nature, yet painful, akin to pins and needles.

    COMBATIVE

The current holder of the Greatsword will find themselves overcome by its whispers. Whispers, that are only amplified should it be fed Fjarriagua’s blood. As after being fed a Witch’s blood a total of [3] times within same combative encounter, she will find herself:

Deafened to all outside sources, overtaken by the loud whispers echoing within her ears. Whispers of satiation, taken in a trance, as she loses grip on logical reasoning.

Incapable of disguise, and should she already be disguised, she will find herself sapped of it, her disguise breaking off.

Unwilling to let go of the weapon anymore. The veins of her arms holding the weapon appearing corrupted, darkened.

With the greatsword’s corruption spreading to her veins, it will begin to sap her automatically from there on, unable to choose when to sacrifice her essence for that frosted sheen, effectively draining her magically akin to casting Ice Projectile every time it requires to reform the frosted sheen. Continued usage may expand the afflicted veins for visual purposes, spreading throughout her body.

Those [2] meters around the Fjarriagua will be capable of hearing those incomprehensible whispers to a lesser degree, to no effect in combat.

    NON-COMBATIVE

The Fjarriagua possessing this Greatsword will find this greatsword’s whispers faintly echoing within her mind, yet may be drowned out so long as she is in a location that is not completely quiet. Yet, should she be in such a location, she will find herself tormented by them, yet almost in a trance. Finding herself:

Prone to self-harm, granting his insatiable weapon the corrupted blood/essence it seeks for.

Growing an addiction to the greatsword over the course of time, making it harder for her to part ways with it. And if she does, she will feel as if she lost a part of herself, hollow, for about [1] OOC week.

Also prone to speaking to it, as if it were a real person, fully believing such. Capable of mishearing the incomprehensible whispers as if it is responding to them.

    Redlines:

-After making contact with blood for [3] emotes within the same encounter, the Fjarriagua will be rendered completely deaf until combat ends. Meaning that she may not hear outside noise anymore, or the sounds of others.

-The Fjarriagua may no longer disguise during this phase, until combat ends. Should she have an active disguise, it will be shattered.

-When the weakness activates, the Fjarriagua will find herself sapped magically akin to casting Ice Projectile every turn. If she hits her limit based on her respective exhaustion system, then she will lose her grip on the weapon, effectively separating her from it.

-She may not let go of that weapon willingly upon having fed it blood [3] times, until the combative encounter ends.

-The addiction to the greatsword is one that grows over the course of time, yet is not given a hard limit or counter due to its flavorful nature. The Fjarriagua may freely interpret it whether she decides to be utterly possessive and aggressive about her possession of it, or willing to make the saddening sacrifice that is lending it to someone for an encounter, etc.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

All written above for better formatting :)

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

The greatsword has been passed down to Naele after their cooperation with the Harrowers, yet despite knowing of their magics, they still felt uneasy by the presence that lingered within it. As such, they decided to corrupt that greatsword with their very essence, awakening its hunger not for mere blood, but the blood of a Witch.

It will from now on, torments its user, in an addictive manner, plaguing her with whispers, and causing her to be prone to self-harm in order to satiate its hunger for a Fjarriagua’s blood, now capable of being weaponized, to a great detriment to the Witch.

Its effects include covering the weapon in an icy, dark sheen, should the Fjarriagua feed it blood, 2nd degree magical frostbite on-hit so long as the sheen is active, as well as allowing easier casting of Conjured Hoarfrost, with the addition of flavorful shadow-related flavor effects and whispers. This frostbite, as well, does not go away on its own unless purged or waiting it out for [3] OOC days.

Its weight is adjusted to the strength of the witch, allowing both Fjarriagua and Mothers to wield it, yet is somehow too heavy for anyone not holding their Curse to wield.

Should the Fjarriagua feed it blood a total of [3] times in combat, it will drain her every single turn afterwards, cause her to go deaf, amongst many more side effects.

    Augmented Ritual:

The ritual will be performed by Naele and her coven, following at the very least the requirements of the Sabbath of Creation, as the ritual itself will be done to ensure its full and proper completion.

In order to enhance the ritual process, Naele’s Gelid Mirror Shard will be utilized during the transformation into an altar, as well as blood magic to aid with its blood-activation effect.
