  1. An old man, finally having hit one hundred, relaxed by the seas near Balian, sipping on an aged bottle of Vuiller Red Wine. He took in a slow breath, speaking to himself, "My my, how our conversation vent. It seems I vas right, ve vill likely niet ever speak again, vy younger brozer. Do niet vait for ve in ze afterlife." And so, that aging man lifted the bottle up in the air as a form a cheers before returning to sipping on it. The second to last Vuiller of a generation, albeit a forgotten one.

  3. Ooc targeting would lead to NLs being instantly murdered and PKed. It would only cause problems. Also as someone else said, NLs will just have their character be on an alt, or they will just play on an alt/different persona all the time so it doesn't matter

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Alchemy

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

    (Copied from my other TA)

Alchemy is all about the material world, the gathering of reagents to transform into specialized items. It utilized the Material Alphabet to aid in its descriptions of what the Alchemist is doing. There are 3 main components to alchemy, those being Sighs and Symbols, Reagents and Processing, and Potioncraft.

To start, almost everything holds Signs and Symbols. Signs are Elemental and describe the general makeup of the reagent, such as Serpent's Stalk being water because it grows near the water. The full list of signs are: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Aether. Meanwhile, while a single reagent will only have one or two Signs, they may have three to four different Symbols, these being such things as: Growth, Swiftness, Blindness, etc. Going back to Serpent's Stalk, it has the Water Sign, but it's Symbols are Growth, Coldness, and Swiftness.

Next, one will want to separate the Signs and Symbols from the given reagent. This is done, simply, by performing an Extraction, of which the types are: Mundane/Aether, Fire, Earth, Water, and Air. After performing the extraction, one will be left with the pure Signs and Symbols that are then able to be used in whatever potioncraft the Alchemist wishes. It is important to note that extractions can only be properly performed on reagents of that element. For example, one could not do an Air extraction on Serpent's Stalk, but one could do either Mundane or Water upon that herb. Depending on the extraction, it will give a different type of symbol. Should a Mundane Extraction be done on Serpent's Stalk, you would get Mundane | Growth, but with a Water Extraction, you'd get Water | Growth.

Finally, once all the Symbols have been gathered, the alchemist may create a potion, salve, powder, etc. This is done in different ways depending on what's being made, though, it will involve the mixing of the different symbols and a base to create an item. This item is either signed by the Alchemist or an ST and the herbs used to create it are to be destroyed after usage. In addition to that, when an alchemical item is used in combat, such as Flash Powder, one must follow the [3] emote rule, unless the item says otherwise: Draw Item -> Prime Item -> Use Item and Emote Effects. Once Primed, it will remain primed for [2] emotes before it must be primed again. Alchemy also acts negatively with Magic, making it so alchemical items can not be used until [2] emotes after disconnection/enchantment usage.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

    (Copied from my other TA)

There are a few subsections of Alchemy, those being "Common Knowledge", "Rare Knowledge", and "Further Alchemy." Common Knowledge is considered open and any one may learn these recipes, including through Self Discovery(at T3 Alchemy). Rare Knowledge is considered closed and requires one who already knows the recipe to teach another person, it may not be gained via Self Discovery like Common Knowledge items. An example of this would be Alteration Alchemy. Finally, Further Alchemy is what one may get at T3 in Alchemy and requires an extra FA and TA in order to learn and teach. An example of this is Tawkins.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    (Copied from my other TA)

    Creation of Flash Powder

Itulan grabbed the Saffvil carefully cut it up into small chunks before he slid it all into a mortar and pestle. With that, he grinded the herb up until there were no large chunks left, then grabbing a jar that he filled up with Aqua Vitae. He set that jar below a flame to let it heat up. Once fully heated, he carefully poured the Saffvil into the jar of Aqua Vitae, letting it mix together until it was a uniform mixture.

Itulan took another jar and put a filter on top of it, pouring the Aqua Vitae-herb mixture into the new jar. He then let the mixture boil again before filtering it again and again until the Aqua Vitae was clear and he had all the moist powder off in a bowl to the side. Once it was all dried out, he pulled over two bowls and began to separate the powder into its Symbols, mainly getting Death and Chaos. The man then repeated the whole process with Night Glow in order to get the Light Symbols.

Itulan moved over to the side and took an open piece of cloth, resting it in front of himself. The man then poured in the Symbols for Death and Chaos. He took a glass stirrer and mixed the two powders together until they were generally a uniform mixture. Off to to the side, he grabbed a jar of water and poured in the Two Units of Light.

Itulan then took that and allowed the mixture of Death and Chaos to soak in with the Light as he added a few droplets of red dye to the mixture to tint it that crimson color. Once all was done, he wrapped up the finished Flash Powder, placing it in his bag for later usage.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    Teaching Mundane Extraction

Itulan shuffled over to the counter, motioning for his student to come over to his side. The man then spoke, "This is the first Extraction we're going to practice. This will allow you to grab the Symbols from a herb to use for alchemical purposes." He explained before setting a Saffvil plant upon the counter, grabbing a knife. Carefully, he cut up the herb into small pieces before placing it in a mortar and pestle before he then started to grind away at the chunks. "Create chunks of the herb and then grind it up until grinding will do no more."

[Student] simply watched and took notes of the process at hand. They remained silent for now, adding in small drawings for what they'd do on their own later.

Itulan took a jar and filled it up with Aqua Vitae, shoveling the crushed up herb into the liquid that was being heated over a flame. "Next, you'll want to heat up some Aqua Vitae and pour in the crushed herb. Once it's all soaked in, filter it out and set the powder to the side. You'll need to do this a bunch until the Aqua Vitae is clear." The man then did as he explained, placing a sieve on another jar and pouring the liquid through. He set the powder to the side as the jar heated. This process was repeated over and over until the liquid was clear.

[Student] continued to watch their teacher sift through the liquid and pull out the wet powder. Still, they took notes of the process.

Itulan finished his filtering and allowed the wet herb to dry until it was a fine powder. "Now, you'll want to use tweezers to carefully pick out the symbols." The man explained before he once again did just that. He used tweezers to sift through the powder, pulling out different parts and placing them into different bowls. Once finished, he handed those bowls off to the Student and spoke. "Now, I want you to go home and study these. Come back next lesson and tell me what you've found out."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

I'd likely DM them about it and ask what happened. Once hearing what happened, if I were to confirm that they had powergamed, I'd see if it was an accident or on purpose. Either way, I'd make sure they they correct their behavior and help clarify anything that needs to be clarified. Like, if they do wrong emote counts, I'll make sure tell them the correct amount of emotes and ask for them to give me an example of the correct amount. In the end, I'd report what happened between myself and the student to the ST who first contacted me(if such had happened) to make sure they know what's up

  6. 52 minutes ago, Unwillingly said:

    mechanical benefit

For the most part yeah. The cool but of gilding is the blood splatter bit, but the 2 main benefits you get are 1) they store blood so corcs can feed from them(if you've cut someone enough), 2) essential have the metal rune's sharpening, and 3) unlike normal ensorcellments, they can be enchanted. Even then, they are kinda small benefits as opposed to other rituals, like quiet being able to silence an entire area

  7. -Weird that it can only be learnt if someone already has a voidal MA. You could argue that Translo or Transfig is also a complex magic, even more complex than gravity, but you don't need to have another voidal magic
-What does it mean for something to be an "Ability"? Seems odd that that's included, does it mean to differenciate between "Passive" and "Active"? If so, why not just use those indicators
-Conjure Gravity seems kinda lame as far as Conjure spells go. It has little creativity and I think I can just do more with Alter Position or a Telekinetic limb
-Orb is a MUCH more powerful gust. Shooting someone with an orc strength punch at T2? If we're comparing it to Gust, then a T2 gust makes someone feel uncomfortable. It's crazy to have it so strong
-Why is Orb able to disarm? or cause a force on someone directly? Force caused by Gravity should be hitting someone with something physical by making something telekin- sorry, gravitationally shoot at them. A disarm should be a completely different spell if done at all
-Why is Levitate its own thing? Just combine it with Conjure Gravity and call it a day, Conjure Gravity should be overall spell for Non-Combative use in this magic, just like other voidal magics
-Gravitational Fluxdoesn't really explain what effect this has on the holder of the weapon, sure it changes weight, but does it also change density? If someone gets hit with something that has "halved weight" in the user's hands, does it do the same amount of damage as normal or does it do less? Why are the emote counts in the Redlines and not the mechanics? 5 block range is SUPER low. That's not even all of Quiet
-Surged Resistance says in the redlines that it can be used for crowd control... why is that there? It's a radius spell is it not?
-Surged Resistance says that it has a 5 block diameter, which is about a 2.5 block radius, but it doesnt say how far you can put this from yourself
-Surged Resistance Why do divided by 3 on a T2 spell? It might work better if it was a scaling spell where the strength increased the higher of a tier you cast at
-Feathery Feet: Same as Levitate, just add it to Conjure Gravity, and you should only passively be floating if you're connected
-Can Attract be used to shoot projectiles into someone else? Can it be used on arrows and whatnot or only things like Earth and Life Evocation projectiles? What happens if a projectile made of gas comes at you? Technically that's still effected by gravity
-Crush is a stupidly powerful spell, I believe. You only have 4 emotes that you have to cast it, not the usual 5 that super powerful spells have or the 6 that stuff like making a Tornado needs. You say it has a range of 15 blocks, does that mean that EVERYTHING in 15 meters of wherever is under this? So you could knock out everyone in a 15 meter radius (or kill) in 5 emotes if they're all standing there
-Crush should not be able to kill, that's reserved for T5 spells, for the most part, but even then, people die from their injuries, not from being hit by the spell
-How far away can you cast Crush?
-For Gravitational Field, what's the effect it puts on people? What exactly does it do besides "making it harder to move"? What does that entail? Why does the range decrease if you put it in an area rather than around you? Is the mage also effected by this spell? Why does it last for 2 emotes after the mage stops concentrating? Losing/Stopping concentration should halt the spell from taking mana, thus ending it. This also feels a LOT less powerful than Crush which you said can KILL SOMEONE
-Why does it take 18 weeks rather than the typical 16 that all other voidal magics, bar feats, have?

Overall, it seems HEAVILY unbalanced and very rushed. Take more time on it, add more stuff, balance things more. Descriptions should add flavor to the lore, it shouldn't just be all about the spells, the descriptions are also good. Most spells don't have half a line explaining what the spell does(the italics parts you have). Also, you don't need that ST note. You get to pick grandfathers if it gets accepted(which it won't in this state tbh). Telekinesis would just be better than Gravity Evo, you can do everything this can and more
