  1. A certain Princess Amelia slid a cucumber from her eye, gazing toward the missive her handmaiden- Cathilda- held out. Rolling her eyes she placed it back on.

”Write to my fiancé that I wish for him to not get into spats whilst I’m away.”

  2. The Princess Amelia stared at the letter before frowning and penning a letter back.

    "To the Baron,

It troubles me to find your letter, which originally brought me much excitement, is written with the similar snide remarks of a play yard school boy. I am hurt beyond regard.

My private dinner consisted of my two handmaidens whom accompany me and help me take care of my children, as you see my husband recently passed and I am now a widowed mother taking care of five little children. My children, and of course my dearest brother.

If you find me asking for private time with my often rather busy eldest brother as an insult upon your person- then I fear you have not frequented the courts very often and I welcome you to delight me in frequenting it more often. Perhaps next time you may find the voice hidden in your shy throat to speak your mind proper, instead of hiding behind a pen and paper, so that we may sort it out like proper adults. For I do dearly love conversation.

Regardless I am thrilled to hear about your wedding to the darling Laurentina, I hope you may find to participate in the wedding cultures set precedent by His Imperial Majesty.  It is a shame I cannot make it due to my many private dinners. Surely you understand.

Many blessings regardless on your matrimony,

HIH, Princess Amelia Margaret of Vanderfall

Minister of Civil Affairs, Countess of Vanderfall"

  3. The Princess Amelia observes the missive with the upmost of scrutiny before bursting into an obnoxious laugh in the privates of her own home.

Of course that ignorant girl could not last even a bit as a Countess. Pathetic. A disgrace to the Pruvia name. Her son on the other hand is a right little heir. Hopefully he will bring some honor back to the ancient name.”

On the other hand, a youthful looking Anna of Pruvia smiled as she saw her great nephew take ahold of the title. Nudging her father, the old Viscount, with a prideful chest.

    Foreword

The exchanging of vows, and the joining of two under the eyes of GOD has been a tradition in every civilization since the beginning of time. It is not bound by the ideas of social class, nor race.  The joint matrimony of two is a ritual performed by a priest to formally, and legally, recognize the union of two people as partners in a personal relationship.

Within the Orenian lands, you may find some traditional rituals performed before and after the ceremony.

    Blessings of Ager

A newly founded tradition may be linked to the first Empire, and a city of renown. The city of Ager was the first agricultural boom in the history of our nation. Ager was founded when the population of Arethor started growing too large to support itself, and more room was needed for expansion. Cheap housing and available farmland to grow reeds, wheat, pumpkins and melons attracted many to live in the town.

In honor of the city and to bring good luck, the prospective spouses will go to the fields of Providence and gather the supplies in order to bake a loaf of bread.  They then will return to the kitchen to make the bread together the day before the wedding. The quality of the loaf will dictate good luck or bad luck within their future. If the loaf is bad, the bride and groom must hang a thistle and cross above their bed frame when they sleep.

Before the ceremony, the bride and groom will break bread with direct family or chosen friends in order to attract good luck during the ceremony and into the marriage.

    Lepores Vespere and Alces Noctem

Within the week before the wedding, the couple will gather their closest friends for a celebratory tradition beloved by all. The bride and her party will celebrate the flexio wording Lepores Vespere [Lay-pour-s Ves-peri] or Rabbit’s Evening. Whilst the groom and his party celebrate Alces Noctem [Al-Ches Noc-dem] or Elk’s Night.

Within Lepores Vespere, the bride’s closest friends and female relatives will gather to enjoy each other’s company. The maid of honor, or the bride’s right hand, will gift a rabbit of pure white for the bride to keep for luck. Then, the group will celebrate by drinking and dancing the night away.

During Alces Noctem, the groom and his closest friends and male relatives will gather in a group to enjoy a get together. Some things they may enjoy are hunting or gambling. The groom’s best man will then gift a Elk’s pelt or cloak for good wishes.

    The Clausula Cannonade

The Clausula Cannonade [Clah-awh-soo-lah], flexio for the Cannonade Conclusion, is a post-ceremony tradition presented by His Imperial Majesty, Philip III. In 1860, the gift from His Majesty toward all denizens of his empire was a single cannonball on their wedding day.

The newly weds will take the cannonball to the top of the wall of the city and shoot it off in celebration of the matrimony, signaling to the city of their new marriage.

  6. Amelia Margaret was lounging peacefully with her inbred children and the Empress in their weekly tea meet as the missive arrived.

"Civil affairs is a slave department?" she'd read slowly over the words before cackling out. "If anyone in that department is a slave it is I! I am the one whose to develop arthritis from all that tedious writing. These writers are good though, perhaps I should hire these people for the post!" Then her eyes looked over to her sister in law, Anastasia I. "On the basis of necromancy, I suppose with that scar upon your face you do look a bit like a witch- and the Arch-Chancellor has gotten pretty fat. You don't think my make up is too cakey though do you?"

Suddenly she panicked at the thought of it before tossing away the missive and continuing to work hard for her Empire regardless of her fans.

  8. A princess paced, paced, paced. She couldn't help herself, finding out the news left her restless. A friend and almost brother had fallen dead by the Sedanites, and all she could do was stride back and forth.

She was a siren, and he her imaginary Captain. Playing sword fight in the old Augustine gardens, only their imagination to keep them entertained. When she had returned, he was one of the first faces she wished to see. They had gone through ups and downs, but at the end of the day- Helton was one of the few people Amelia cared for in her odd way.

So she paced, a twinge of pain in her chest. They had never made up but she prayed that he knew she cared about him in his last dying moments.

"Goodbye, Helton. Please rest easy now, may the voices grow quiet and your mind be able to rest."

  9. "Now she may never utter my father's name again, I hope her gnat of mother writhes in anguish." Bitterly spoke out a Renzfeld Princess almost madly in the privates of her own home.

    His Grace, Lord Peter Augustus

    Duke of Sunholdt

  11. The Princess Amelia relaxed in her chaise lounge within the confines of the Imperial quarters. Her eyes fluttering open to gaze upon the missive offered via servant with a side eye. A smile then crested her lips as she let out a small satisfied sigh.

Glad young Richard has settled with Marie. Lord guide the young pair.” With that, her eyes closed shut as she returned to her mid-day meditation.

  12. An old friend and certain Orenian princess heard of the news, a hand gripping her heart as her eyes fell closed. She didn’t cry but the pain of loss felt heavy.

Best friends forever, Etta. Forever.” She whispered as her eyes fell to a small berry coin made by children. “Rest well, Princess Etta of Rosehelm.

With that she took a moment to sigh out, hoping it would relieve some of the tension held in her chest. To no avail. It would linger with her for weeks, never truly being able to get over the loss of a childhood friend.
