In light of the recent times ahead, the following men and women are henceforth advanced to take command of the following stations and pursuits. Sadistic devils, with their lies, slander, steel, and more, taunt our lands and townsfolk, and efficiency is of utmost importance.

ON COMMANDERS AND THEIR STATIONS:

LORD GUSTAF VAN AERT, hereafter referred to as Sir Gustaf of Winburgh, shall yield full command in the absence of the CAPTAIN-GENERAL. All levies and retainers of Veletz will listen to him. He may only intrude upon other tasks or drills if it is against the CAPTAIN-GENERAL's will.

LORD HENDRIK VAN AERT, hereafter referred to as Sir Hendrik of Middelan, shall yield full military command without the CAPTAIN-GENERAL. As the marshal, he will organize additional training, raids, and attacks on enemy soil.

HIS GRACE, MARKUS SARKOZIC, THE DUKE OF ADRIA, shall be charged in the placement as the Censor of the Midlands. From this post, he will moderate the legal standing and public morality of Veletz. Markus is expected to provide a review, approve, or deny future suggestions of the law of Veletz and prosecute wrongdoings against the virtues of the Midlands. Through him, we will build a court to be managed without the CAPTAIN-GENERAL’s presence. In the absence of Gustaf & Hendrik, Markus rules as the Captain-General’s Hand.

LORD JOHANES VAN AERT, hereafter referred to as Sir Johannes of Sonlach, will be charged with the workings of the Legion’s logistics of engines and foodstuffs. If necessary, he and the LADY SASKIA VAN AERT will dabble into the art of papyrus-mancy, which our enemies so frequently entertain. Additionally, he will support the Duke Markus as called upon.

AUTHORITY OF THE GUARD IN WINBURGH:

Underneath these great men, the following knights are called upon to keep order within Winburgh, the simple town that has intimidated our foes to such a great extent. These men will be charged with keeping brawls out from the taverns and duels settled in the square and seeing the safe conduct of messengers and envoys. They will promptly act upon directives if called upon for task and purpose. The Marshal is expected to review Veletzian forces, from levy to levy and man-to-man if necessary. Knights of Veletz are to be his companions the very same that they are to the Captain-General.

ON MATTERS OF THE CHURCH:

Just because men of shrill stature shriek and shiver while uttering the cries of “bandit” or “warlord” does not mean we are without understanding the value of GOD. Unless stated otherwise, the people call the Bishops Alexios and Callahan to begin sermons, mass, and lessons of Canonism. Owynist rites are encouraged. The possession of the cathedral of Saint Arpad is handed to Bishop Alexios to do as he wishes. This includes the upholding of Canon Law within the sacred grounds themselves.

𝔗he Captain-General, we the Order of St. Jude, alongside countless innocent folk, have beheld the ruthless onslaught of the undead, who afflict our lands and many others. They lay waste to homesteads, desecrate cathedrals and monasteries, and assail our Burgundian Legionnaires. Meanwhile, a cursed disease has rooted in neighbouring realms, its talons dragging through mankind, known as Vampyrism. It is rumoured that these plagued creatures have slaughtered Baron Cunimund hal'Cingedoz, razing his village of Bodbwodz upon the peaks of the Langkettes mountains. 

A list has been wrought of these Vampyres, amid others, deemed darkspawn by Lord Johan Vuiller, for which we owe great thanks. The folk of Aaun have, of their own accord, resorted to oust them with force through the fiery destruction of their once-homes. Overall, there has been an escalation in encounters and sightings of these creatures of the night.

Henceforth, it is sanctioned and decreed that compulsory testing will be implemented for all Winburgh citizens and all vassals, including nobility, of the League of Veletz. Each man, woman, and child shall be subjected to scrutiny. No exemptions shall be granted to those who object; no corner shall remain unexplored, and no stone will be left unturned, as we cleanse ourselves of this blight. 

* Refusal to be tested will result in a spontaneous trial to be carried out with a Knight of Veletz overseeing. Upon being found guilty, the standard consequences will be issued. Upon being found innocent, one will be fined no less than one hundred and fifty mina.

The question of Adria’s independence has long been settled, the Free Duchy of Adria has acted with total sovereignty for the better part of a decade. The question of its part in Canondom cannot be questioned either, for Adria has reconciled its disputes with the Holy Church and is in active communication with its Cardinal, Antonious, on any remnant concerns.

An extended armistice cannot work, for tensions would only flare up. The only peace can be a true peace, though the offer from the Coalition offers trust that a true peace is within sight should it be negotiated. In pursuit of peace, the Ducal Coronet declares an immediate ceasefire for the period of one year, and warns its subjects not to enter foreign lands without invitation.

Diplomacy shall be made with haste to the leaders of the Coalition to negotiate terms of a permanent peace with all members, but the Free Duchy of Adria declares a commitment to a true peace in the following interests:

1. A genuine integration within Canondom. That disputes regarding the faith shall not be escalated to the threat of existential Crusade but instead discussed with the Church and any wrongdoing made right.
2. The dissolution of the Holy League as an opposing force to the Duchy. There can be no Holy League against fellow members of Canondom once a peace is established.
3. A meeting with Aaun to discuss its differences in title claimants and to come to a reconciliation regarding the war’s beginning, and the gifting from Adria of a prized steed to the esteemed House Barclay of Reinmar.
4. The imposition of limits on any conquest that threatens the territorial integrity of the Free Duchy of Adria, its allies, and a peaceful Midland.

The Duchy of Adria’s legacy was born in Athera from the warriors of the ancient Canonist League in war against Schismatics. The humble faith of the Raevir has always been a foundational principle to the Adrian folk. It was in close cooperation with the Holy Church that Adria was restored, and it was a shameful result of poor politics that it came to be at odds. 

Most notable to this deteriorating relationship was the Excommunication and later trial of the abdicated Duke Heinrik Otto Sarkozic, which later led to the Battle of Two Steeples. These events infuriated the folk of Adria, who felt they had been given no credible explanation of the wrongdoings of Heinrik or any sort of communication beyond unfounded condemnation despite their consistent public condemnation of Azdrazi and invitation for the Church’s inquisition.

It is in spite of all this scandal, Adria seeks resolution; there can only be one Holy Church. The Duchy of Adria welcomes with open arms cooperation with the Church.

It is for such a reason that Markus Marie Sarkozic had been appointed to the position of Chancellor of the Duma; to aid the Duke Johanes van Aert in the hardening of Adria’s spirit. Before his appointment, the Count of Aldersberg traveled across the realms speaking to Canonist Princes and clergy learning for the sake of Adria and at the Duke’s orders the reasons of suspicion against the many houses. Those who stir scandal within the ranks of Adria and threaten the integrity of its citizens and Duma shall be held accountable by the Duke.

ON HOUSES OF SCANDAL,

House von Draco had historically conspired repeatedly against Canondom alongside the Azdrazi. During the reign of Johanes, they had members disobey orders of the Duke which indicated an intense bloodlust that went against his Code of Conduct. As the Ducal Coronet increased its investigations into these matters, the von Dracos began to rapidly diminish from the realm and their title fell into abeyance. All members of the house are compelled to clear their name with the Ducal Crown and Church before any potential reassimilation.

Accusations of a similar nature have been levied against House Vilac of Veleç, whose status has since been stripped after their majority disappearance. The last Vilac Matriarch Emerentia Vilac has sought to resolve such scandal and has entered into a monastic life as a nun, sworn to none but GOD. In such action let the legacy of House Vilac of Veleç be freed from both suspicion or succession in Adria. Should any members appear, they are expected to likewise clear their name with the Ducal Crown and Church due to the actions of many Vilacs amongst the realm conspiring against the Church and consorting with Azdrazi. 

ON THE CANONS REGULAR,

Jonathan of the Canons Regular and his followers within House Mogg are not by appointment, blessing, or consideration of any kind the Church of Adria. There can only be one Church of Adria, which is the Holy Church of the Canon. On this matter, the High Pontiff has commented “We understand mistakes are made and intentions do not always reflect the outcome, and committed to a peaceful outcome”, so a resolution is expected. Jonathan is hereby summoned to explain the situation before the Ducal Court so that it may mediate between him and the Holy Church.

ON HEINRIK OTTO SARKOZIC,

The restorer Heinrik Otto Sarkozic is expected to resolve with the Church should he return to Adria, for no man excommunicated will have any legacy to preserve. It is the trust of the Ducal Coronet that should he return, he would be offered a true chance of redemption if presented in true humility. His memory is not struck from the record; his deeds both great and flawed shall be remembered in unison. Let all virtuous Canonists pray for his own reconciliation.

I. HOUSING

The process of purchasing a house starts by contacting a Steward who assists with housing and tax organization. Stewards are appointed by the Seneschal. Once you have found a steward, express your interest in buying a home, and they will present you with available houses that match the size of your household.

Once you have chosen a home, you will have the opportunity to pay the flat fee and receive the keys. If the house is unfurnished, you will be responsible for furnishing it.

After completing these steps, the home officially becomes yours. For the first six months following the purchase, you are exempt from taxation. However, starting from the 7th month, on Sun's Smile, taxes will be due every year on the same month. In the unfortunate event that your household becomes involved in criminal activities or loses its privileges, your home may be seized and sold.

REGULATIONS

Every year, a steward will visit each homestead at a time of their choosing to conduct the yearly inspection. During this inspection, the inspector will be checking for various infractions. Examples of such infractions include growing crops inside the living quarters and keeping livestock within the premises. 

However, the most crucial aspect the inspector focuses on is basements. To construct a basement, a fee of 50 mina must be paid. However, if an unmarked basement is discovered or any evidence of plans to build one without prior approval is found, the fine will be increased to 100 mina.

There are also three regulations surrounding the purchase of a property :

1. Firstly, individuals are limited to owning one home and one shop each, while foreigners are restricted to purchasing stalls unless approved by the Duke or Seneschal. This is to help prevent stagnation as richer individuals buy out the housing market, to drive up rates for the common folk. 

2. Similarly, regardless of if it is the same buyer or separate ones, two houses that sit next to one another cannot be combined to form one larger house, without the explicit permission of the Ducal Coronet. 

3. The final regulation regarding purchase is that one may not construct or change the exterior of their homestead without said explicit permission of the Ducal Coronet.

II. TAXES

By the order of Duke John II, the Duchy of Adria will introduce a system of discounted taxation for the initial two years after relocating to Aevos. Subsequently, the taxation amount will double for every property. Furthermore, for the first six months following the purchase of your property, you will be exempt from taxation. However, starting from the 7th month of Sun's Smile, taxes will be due every year on the same month.

TAX COLLECTION

A standard tax year in our region extends from Harren's Folley to Sun's Smile, with tax collection occurring every Sun's Smile. During this period, we kindly ask that no coins are added to any tax boxes to prevent confusion unless prior approval has been granted by the Duke or Seneschal.

Individuals and businesses are encouraged to submit their taxes during this timeframe by placing them into the designated "tax box" of their respective properties. Tax boxes can be found at the Tax Office located at Veleç Lane 13.

TAX INFRACTIONS

Failure to pay the yearly tax on time will result in an infraction recorded in the Steward's ledger. Residents who accumulate three infractions will be served a notice three months prior to eviction, offering them the choice to settle the outstanding amount with either the Duke or Seneschal.

However, there is a provision for the Seneschal to waive a resident's taxes if they can provide substantial evidence demonstrating their inability to pay.

Although marked by steadfast, loyal governance over the course of the rise of Velec and the Second Duke’s War, the Council of Orel has now served its purpose. Having established ourselves as an independent polity, it is necessary and prudent that we reconfigure the instruments of government for the new era our great duchy is to enter. Under the guidance of his council and the Duma, His Grace, John II, proposed the following restructuring of the governing body of Adria to better-suit the needs of the realm.

I) THE OFFICE OF THE DUKE OF ADRIA

As stipulated by the Franciscan Articles:

• The Duke of Adria is to be chosen by the Ducal Electors in a just and fair election, and his children hold no right of inheritance to the Ducal Coronet of Adria.

• The Duke of Adria is required to convene a Duma, a meeting between lords sworn the duchy every two years.

• The Duke has no right to create new feudal or municipal taxes without the approval of the Duma.

• The Duke has no right to declare war or peace without the approval of the Duma.

• The Duke is required to provide for the standing ducal army.

• If the Duke was to transgress on the law or privileges of the nobility, the Articles authorize the nobility to refuse the Duke’s orders and act against him.

II) THE GENERAL STAFF OF ADRIA

The rigidity of the current Council of Orel is presently unsuitable to direct the economic and political activity at the direction of His Grace. Instead, a broader council, unrestricted by the confines of specific, defined positions, shall be made to advise the Duke on all matters of state and carry out the executive functions of the Ducal Office. It is in His Grace’s interests that his council be flexible enough to sufficiently address the potential challenges that the realm faces, while also well-staffed as to meet the administrative and bureaucratic demands of the state.

IX. THE GENERAL STAFF

The General Staff of Adria shall henceforth be defined as the executive advisory body to the Duke of Adria. Appointed by the Duke of Adria, the Prefects of the General Staff are, barring a few exceptions, without position, instead being delegated tasks according to need and merit.

• All members of the General Staff of Adria shall be referred to as Prefect.

• All Prefects of the General Staff are unilaterally appointed by the Duke of Adria.

• The General Staff of Adria shall generally be without specific position, save the two enumerated roles:

  • Chancellor of the Adrians: The foremost councilor of the Duke of Adria and the designated regent of the Duchy of Adria.

  • Tribune of the Greycloak Watch: The foremost military officer in the Duchy of Adria after the Duke of Adria and the commander of the Greycloaks. They shall retain the informal styling of ‘Marshal of Adria’. Presently, Caelan von Draco @VoxyNoir.

• All Prefects of the General Staff shall be afforded the full executive authority to perform the tasks assigned to them, and are answerable only to the Duke, the Chancellor of the Adrians, and the Duma.

• Prefects of the General Staff, save the Chancellor of the Adrians or the Tribune of the Greycloak Watch, may be subject to a review of conduct by the Duma if called to do so by a majority vote. 

III) THE DUMA

As stipulated by the Franciscan Articles:

The Duma shall henceforth be defined as the assembly of the estates within the Duchy of Adria. The Duma is tasked with carrying out judgment on matters pertaining to the Duchy and shall have the final say on matters pertaining to laws, wars, alliances, and treaties.

• The Duma is assembled upon the request of the Duke, and as due by the Franciscan Articles is required to be assembled once every two years.

• The estates and their representatives are henceforth defined as thus.

  • From the Duchy, the Chancellor acts as the Duke’s representative and heads the Duma in the Duke’s name.

  • From the nobility, two representatives from every demesne within the Duchy are called forth.

  • From the burghers, four representatives from the City of Velec are called forth.

• The representatives from the estates must represent a majority of the population of Adria.

• In order for a motion to pass, it must have a clear majority.

The Duma shall henceforth be defined as the assembly of the estates within the Duchy of Adria. The Duma is tasked with carrying out judgment on matters pertaining to the Duchy and shall have the final say on matters pertaining to laws, wars, alliances, and treaties.

• All changes to the Franciscan Articles, or documents of reform necessitating change to the Franciscan Articles, must be passed and approved by the Duma.

• An Electoral Committee shall be established as part of the Duma, with the express purpose of electing a new Duke of Adria upon the death or abdication of the former.

• The Electoral Committee, in accordance with the Franciscan Articles, shall be comprised of:

• New members of the Electoral Committee may only be added by the Duke of Adria, with a vote of confirmation by the Electoral Committee, or by majority vote of the Duma on the day of election.

• The mediation of disputed seats on the Electoral Committee is to be conducted by the Duma before or during the Ducal Election.

• Seats on the Electoral Committee may only be removed by the reigning Duke of Adria.

• The Citizen’s Council of Velec will be comprised of the following members:

  • The Primate of Adria, as appointed by the High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon. Presently, Unoccupied

  • The Seneschal, as appointed by the Duma. Presently, Allessandra de Vend @Smol

• No member of the Citizen’s Council shall be guaranteed a seat on the General Staff save the Tribune of the Greycloak Watch

V) THE DUCAL RETINUE

The Ducal Retinue shall be those positions that, having a necessary place at the Duke’s side, yet not requiring a seat upon either the General Staff or within the Court of St. Emalyne, are utilized at the Duke’s personal discretion. When not under orders of the Duke, the Ducal Retinue falls under the jurisdiction of the Castellan of the Court of St. Emalyne. While not automatically afforded a seat upon the General Staff, there is no prohibition on a Prefect holding a position within the Ducal Retinue.

Tasked with rooting out the corrupting influences of dark magic from the realm.

Tasked with aiding the Duke in the drafting of legislation along with other important cultural and legal documents for the realm.

CODEX LACOBIANUS

The Adrian Code of Law

I. Preamble

1. The Criminal Code dictates what is, and what is not legal, to maintain social order and a civilised society within the Duchy of Adria.

2. Anyone who is within, or is a citizen of the Duchy of Adria is subject to this Code and will be judged accordingly for any violations. Any offences defined as criminal by the Codex Lacobianus committed against citizens of Adria outside of its Ducal Lands, will also be judged according to the Codex Lacobianus.

3. The Sovereign, being the Duke of Adria or any appointed regent, is not above this law. As well, the Sovereign may never command an order that goes against the Criminal Code, even if such should be deemed necessary for the betterment of The Duchy.

4. Any amendments to the Codex Lacobianus may only be applied through the Duke’s decree with unanimous approval by the Council of Orel.

5. The laws on Voidal magic within the Duchy of Adria are defined by Chapter III from the Lex Aaunica.

6. The Greycloak Watch, being the standing army and guardforce of the Duchy, reserved the right to arrest individuals suspected of being in violation of the Codex Lacobianus, so that they may face a fair trial.

7. The Greycloak watch is exempt from punishment for offences that do not fall under Table II of the Lex Aaunica. Sufficient proof must be given to the Adrian Court that the offences were committed in the line of duty, and were not of ill intent.

II. Mitigating Circumstances

1. A person is not guilty of an offence if they have only used a sufficient amount of force to prevent or stop an unlawful attack on themselves or any other person.

2. A person is not guilty of an offence if he has only used a sufficient amount of force to prevent or stop an unlawful attack on their, or any other person's property.

3. A person is not guilty of an offence if said offence is committed to aid the Greycloak Watch in their enforcement of the law, so long as a representative of the Greycloak Watch is able to confirm such.

III. Criminal Offences

Crimes against persons

1. Anyone who is intentionally bringing physical harm upon another individual, resulting in no or minor physical injury, shall be charged with third degree assault, an infraction.

2. Anyone who is intentionally bringing physical harm upon another individual, resulting in minor to moderate physical injury, shall be charged with second degree assault, a misdemeanour.

3. Anyone who is intentionally bringing physical harm upon another individual, resulting in moderate to severe injury, shall be charged with first degree assault, a felony.

4. Anyone who is intentionally bringing physician harm upon another individual without the intent to end their life, resulting in their death, shall be charged with manslaughter, a felony.

5. Anyone who is intentionally bringing physician harm upon another individual with the intent to end their life, resulting in their death, shall be charged with murder, a felony.

6. Anyone who is spreading falsehoods with the intent to cause harm to one’s social status or cause harm in any other way, shall be charged with second degree slander, an infraction.

7. Anyone who is spreading falsehoods resulting in the individual’s social status being impacted negatively as a result, or having caused harm upon said individual in any other way shall be charged with first degree slander, a misdemeanour.

8. Anyone who, through forceful and harmful means forces an individual to hand over, or forcefully removes items of an estimated value less than or around 50 minae from another individual shall be charged with second degree robbery, a misdemeanour.

9. Anyone who, through forceful and harmful means forces an individual to hand over, or forcefully removes items of an estimated value less than, or around 50 minae from another individual shall be charged with second degree robbery, a misdemeanour.

10. Anyone who unlawfully captures or attempts to capture another person with intent to rob them of their freedom is charged with abduction, a felony .

11. Anyone who uses deception for the purpose of financial or personal gain, at the expense of another individual is charged with fraud, a misdemeanour.

12. Anyone who knowingly obtains or possesses another person's identity information is guilty of committing  Identity Theft  Anyone who claims to be another person, whether by lying or by manufacturing identity information, is charged with  Identity Fraud, a felony.

Crimes against property

1. Anyone who steals another person’s belongings of an estimated value less than or around 50 minae within their property shall be charged with second degree theft, a misdemeanour.

2. Anyone who steals another person’s belongings of an estimated value of 50 minae or above within their property shall be charged with first degree theft, a felony.

3. Anyone who enters another person’s property without their explicit consent or knowledge, without causing damage to said property is charged with second degree trespassing, a misdemeanour.

4. Anyone who enters another person’s property without their explicit consent or knowledge, causing damage to said property is charged with first degree trespassing, a felony.

5. Anyone who accidentally causes minor damage to another person’s property, is charged with third degree vandalism, an infraction.

6. Anyone who accidentally causes major damage to another person’s property

7. Anyone who intentionally causes minor damage to another person’s property, is charged with second degree vandalism, a misdemeanour.

8. Anyone who intentionally causes major damage to another person’s property, is charged with first degree vandalism, a felony.

9. Anyone who intentionally sets fire to another person’s property, is charged with arson, a felony.

Wardship under the Castle is oftentimes seen as a great privilege among the Adrian peoples when seeking education and pursuit for their kin. All wards are taught the fundamentals of penmanship, etiquette, and diction, though each ward’s tutelage is largely adaptable and personalized to their own respective interests and abilities as well as which developmental stage they may be in.

Protocols of The Court of  St Emalyne

1. It should be noted that the position of Governess of St. Emalyne is not subject to election but is rather bestowed by the Duke of Adria. The selected candidate will hold the position until voluntarily resigning or upon their passing. The role of Governess holds a significant level of responsibility, requiring exceptional intellectual and interpersonal skills to effectively govern with discretion, tact, and decorum. The extended tenure ensures stability and continuity in governance and enables the chosen Governess to carry out the position's duties effectively without the fear of premature displacement.

2. To attain the status of a Lady of St Emalyne, a prospective candidate must be recommended by a current lady of St Emalyne to the governess of St Emalyne. The Governess then evaluates the candidate based on specific criteria, including social standing, familial history, and individual qualities, before ultimately making the final decision. If deemed suitable, the candidate is granted permission to become a Lady of St Emalyne.

3. In order to qualify for the position of one of the Lady’s of St Emalyne, candidates are subject to a set of specific eligibility requirements. Among the key criteria that must be met is attaining a minimum of being within their 18th year. Should an individual not meet this age requirement, they will not be considered eligible for the title of Lady of St Emalyne. Instead, they may be considered for a position as a ward of St Emalyne.

4. In the event that a verbal or physical conflict of any degree arises among the ladies of St. Emalyne or the Wards of St. Emalyne, it shall be the duty of the Governess of St. Emalyne to summon both parties to a meeting to discuss the matter at hand. The Governess shall inquire into the details of the conflict and determine whether it can be resolved within the court or if it necessitates referral to the Magistrate of Adria.

4.1. In the event that a Lady of St. Emalyne or a Ward of St. Emalyne is discovered to have committed a severe violation of the law, they shall be relieved of their position, as they would no longer be able to maintain their position in good faith.

5. Should an individual within the court be found to have defamed or hindered the noble work of the Governess of St. Emalyne or any Lady under her esteemed protection, they shall be called forth to face trial before the court of St. Emalyne. The primary aim of this trial shall be to ascertain whether the accused acted in good faith or breached their position within the court.

5.1. In the event that a guilty verdict is reached, the victim of the event shall determine the punishment to be administered, as they have been directly impacted by the actions of the accused.

With Tuvmas celebrations coming to a close, and august relatives departing the Ducal Court, His Grace, Duke Heinrik and his wise counsel sets to work on his much-mentioned yet seldom-discussed Provisional Government. In a compromise between the popular interests and his own self-interest, he resolves that the Duchy is to be overseen by a number of different advisors, both elected and appointed from its populace.

The convention of the Duke’s vijeće begins the day prior. The Court Columbarian’s catchpole knocks a fat white fledgling from its cote. It is taken en cage down along the winding steps through the storeroom and into the scullery, where the Chef gorges it on a mix of honey and groats. His maid meanwhile milks the last drops of spiced Roach Red from a sleeve. She offers the sack of chaff and corns to the awaiting Chef, who rifles through his drawer for the bird-funnel…

The eldest son of the alcoholic Stefan Varoche and his Bracchi wife, it was early in his life that he set off for the distant shores of Almaris first finding himself as a ward amongst his distant Montelliano cousins within Haense for a number of years before he left to live in Sedan for a short while, until a fateful meeting with the future duke in a Minitzer tavern, where the scheme to revive Adria was first hatched.

The voice and right hand of the Duke, head of the Ducal Council and his Grace’s most honorable government. The chancellor represents the Duke in the great Ducal Duma and serves as his head diplomat for domestic and foreign affairs. Halfway between a functionary and a judge, the Chancellor shall supervise and preside over appellate and civil courts within the Duchy of Adria, maintain records, and employ advocates of the court to enforce civil judgments.

II. THE KNIGHT PARAMOUNT | SER ARDASHIR OF CHALDEES @Quantumatics

Born the inheritor of the revered Banu Sayatin, the desert warrior monks of the lands of Chaldees, the Mihyaari led an exodus out of the region in resistance to the oppressive and unjust rule of its then leadership. His adoption of Canonism alongside a preservation of his ancient warrior tradition afforded him employ slaying beasts along the Almarian roads. III. THE MARSHAL| SER JOSEPH VASILE @Nectorist
The child of a Petran noble, Joseph Vasile grew up in a life of relative ease and comfort, receiving a basic education and martial training as a squire of the Duke of Petra. Growing frustrated with the stratified society of his birth, he struck out in 1907 for greater fortunes abroad, and found himself in the employ of the rising Duke Heinrik.

As Marshal, Vasile intends to hammer Petran discipline into the rabble of Adrian levies and armigers. The Marshal is the highest military office one can achieve within the Duchy of Adria, and is appointed directly by the Duke. The marshal oversees, supervises, and commands the bannermen of His Grace the Duke. It is his charge to keep men boarded, fed, trained, and marching in lockstep with the will of the council.

IV. THE PRIMATE | ERIK FATHER RENZFELD @Laeonathan

A hopeful star in the Church of the Canon, Father Erik of Renzfeld descends from the powerful Euler Merchant family. The newly inducted priest, Erik, started his path by conducting a coronation jointly with the High Pontiff, quickly gaining his Holiness's favor,  Father Erik passed favorably through his Examination. Now set upon bringing faith and moral righteousness to the Duchy, Father Erik ascends to the position of Primate. 

As Primate of Adria, Father Renzfeld serves as the Duke’s spiritual advisor and clerical representative. Questions of the Faith in Adria are delegated unto him, and his wise counsel and advocacy are essential to steer the Duke’s good governance.
 

V. THE MAGISTRATE | UNOCCUPIED

As Magistrate of Adria, Zmeu employs his very particular talents in upholding the Duke’s peace, the Duma’s peace, and the rule of law. He is charged with presiding over the criminal courts in Adria, and to employ bailiffs to execute the decisions of the courts.

VI. THE EXECUTIONER | JAN ÁRPÁD IVANOVIĆ @Optimus420
At sixteen years of age, Jan Ivanovich has witnessed more than many kings and prelates thricefold his senior. At seven, his opportunistic father Sveneld threatened the realms of Man with turmoil by attempting the assassination of a foreign minister at a peace summit. Slain after the failed attempt, Sveneld’s loyalists kidnapped his son Jan Arpad and fled into the vast and lawless steppe of Central Almaris. Living a existence, young Jan developed a ruthless disposition and an utter determination to see his vision of a Raevir society fulfilled.

As the Ducal Executioner, Jan Ivanovich primary responsibility is the enforcement of death sentences for those found guilty of high crimes against the Duchy of Adria. Furthermore he is tasked with aiding the Magistrate & Marshal of Adria in any form of investigations of criminals and bringing them to justice.
