The most loyal Earl of Dover, George Aldersberg, received the patent letters with eminent joy. For a man with a notoriously stiff lip, he smiled far more often since receiving the Archdukes stamped letters. “Aldersberg endures, and as the greatest and fondest of the Alstions’ friends. We remain loyal and ever serving.” Highbury began to prepare for celebration, soon they would invite the rest of the realm to join them in celebration

The Godfather of the babe, George of Dover, who had so closely held him at his baptism, offered much thought since the child was entered into the Faith. “As much as the Princeling shall carry my name, so I pledge to be servant and steward to his realm. As I was for his Father and his Father before him.” The Aldersberg could not resist but smile at every instance of the Duke of Furnestock’s mention.

Issued by the Chancellery of Alba On the 7th of Harren’s Folly, 2040 y the grace of God, and with the counsel of the Lords and the loyalty of the free men of Alba, the Archduke and Archduchess of Alba, do ordain and establish these resolutions of the House of Lords into law. At the convocation of Our Lords, two resolutions were confirmed by unanimous vote and are to be codified and proclaimed among the people of Alba. In light of the continued efforts of the evil that now threatens the realm of Man, the Empire, a general conscription of all Our able subjects is hereby declared. Furthermore, a tax shall be levied upon the non-Horenic peoples and heathens dwelling within Our lands, may they soon learn of the true faith. These resolutions, having passed with full accord amongst Our Lords, are ratified by Our seal, without hesitation nor grief. RESOLUTION I. On Conscription By ordnance of Our Lords and the Archducal crown We empower the Lord Marshal to begin a campaign of conscription to the Prince’s Army. Every able Alban man of an age greater than thirteen years, shall be required to bear arms for a period of five years. At the recommendation of the Lords, extra powers will be afforded to the Lord Marshal which shall allow him to levy men to protect Elizabeth, Alba and beyond, against the evil forces that threaten the realm of Man. Should any Alban man deny this call to arms We give the Marshal right to issue fines, and should they continue to deny the call they are to be imprisoned and tried. We give these powers to the Marshal until the end of the year of Our Lord, 2045. RESOLUTION II. On Elf-Tax There will be levied a tax, as voted upon in unanimity by the Lords, on those who are not sons or daughters of Horen or/and practitioners of heathen faiths, of five mina. The tax shall be applied upon each residential property owned by a heretic non-human in Elizabeth and beyond. Non-Horenic folk under suspicion of practicing ulterior faiths will be asked to provide evidence of their commitment to the True Church, or shall have the tax levied against them. In accordance with Alban Code (A. C., Art. I. Sect. III., 2009) any faith considered heresy by the Canonist Faith will not be met with tax but a fiery pyre. Under the Emperor’s protection, the Qalasheen are absolved of this tax. Their commitment to Man and Empire is already assured. This resolution shall remain in effect until altered or dismissed, by vote within the House of Lords. Copies of these resolutions are to be reproduced and stored within the Johannian Archives, for safeguarding and the prosperity of the realm. In witness whereof, these Resolutions are decreed by the Archduke and Archduchess of Alba and witnessed by the House of Lords, In the year of Our Lord 2040. S I G N E D, THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES, Cecily and Edward, Princes of Alstion and Aanen, Archdukes of Alba, Dukes of Balamena, the Lowlands, Franklands, and Corazon, Counts of Whitespire, Enswerp, Thesmer and Yves, Barons of Placentia, Virdain, and Blanchet, Lords of Elizabeth, Defenders of the Godwinites, Protectors of the Franklands, Patriarchs of the Johanian Dynasty, etcetera. Issued by the Chancellery of Alba On the 8th of Tobias' Bounty, 2040 The Great Act of State, 2040 y the grace of God, and with the counsel of the Lords and the loyalty of the free men of Alba, the Archduke and Archduchess of Alba, do ordain and establish this Great Act. Let the affirmation of Alban prerogatives, privileges and governance be sustained and coded here, for the furtherance of Our realm. The Great Act of State represents the desire of the Alban Lords, and will become an extension of the Alban Code. In the spirit of protecting harmony throughout the realm and preserving the dignity of the noble station, the great act codifies the Sovereign’s authority, secures the rights and obligations of the noble classes, gentry and peers alike, and finally defines the purpose and restraints of the House of Lords. All this was confirmed by vote within the House of Lords and for the betterment of the Alban people. Ave Alba – Long Live the Alstions! ARTICLE. I. On Prerogatives As defined in The Alban Code, Art. II. Section I. “The Sovereign is, and shall remain, the supreme authority of Our realm, entrusted with the duty of safeguarding its laws, lands, and people.” Section. I. Insofar as We are Sovereign and Prince of the Alban demesne, We are vested with unique authority and recognition within Alban jurisprudence. Also, by bond, and resolution of the Sovereign, the members of Our House of Alstion will also be extended similar, yet lesser, privileges. For ease of definition this shall be known as the Princely Prerogative. Section. II. All executive powers and governance of the realm are vested in the Sovereign, for they will be the source and guardian of law in Alba. In accordance with this solemn charge, the Sovereign shall act with final authority, not beholden to any civil or ministerial body, though guided by their counsel, as befits the customs of the realm. Section. III. As a mark of Our prerogative, We purvey reserved dignity to symbols of authority within the realm. As a named subline of the Imperial Horenic dynasty, and dignitary of the Draconis-Atrium, the House of Alstion recognises the authority of the Courts of the Dragonblooded and expects adherence to their authority on matters of Horenic lineage throughout the realm. ARTICLE II. On Peerage & Noble Obligation. Section. I. A noble, or peer, shall be defined as a division of Our most dignified subjects; comprehending dukes, marquises, earls, counts, barons etcetera. They are unique in station due to their elevated rank among Alban personages. Titles, which define a peer, shall be done by Our writ, appointment or letters patent. Lands, titles, peerage status, and noble privilege may be granted or withdrawn by the Sovereign, in keeping with the demands of justice, honour, and service to the realm. By virtue of their noble status, close familial members of a peer will bear noble recognition also. Section. II. A gentry person shall be defined as a division of Our distinguished subjects. They are unique in station due to their raised rank amongst our common subjects. Gentrification, which defines a gentry person, shall be done by Our writ or appointment. Gentrymen may style themselves as one of Our Lords, as a recognition of their enduring service to the realm. Section. III. A peer, or gentryman, shall be afforded certain privileges as a badge of their unique designation; stewardship of their lands, personal subjects, inheritance etcetera. However, they are expected and bound by duty to serve and attend to the realm to a greater degree, as is already defined within The Alban Code. This principle shall be known as the noblesse oblige: to be noble is to act nobly, for honour and privilege are bound by duty and the welfare of the realm. ARTICLE. III. On The House of Lords As defined in The Alban Code, Art. II. Sect. I. “It is the Sovereign’s prerogative to appoint a House of Lords to serve as a body of counsel and legislative design.” Section. I. In respect to the privileges We have endowed upon Our noble subjects, along with the other services expected of them, They shall be afforded the right to sit in The House of Lords (HoL). The House shall counsel us, with their recommendations, on matters of the realm and will be given right to a vote on concerns presented before them. Resolutions of the House shall attain force of law upon receiving the Sovereign’s seal. (A. C., Art. II. Sect. II., 2009) At the pleasure of the House, Our city mayors will also sit among them and will hold a vote also. Section. II. On behalf of the sovereign, the Chancellor is appreciated with the right to convene the House into session and The Chancellor will act as the chief arbitrator during the assemblage of the peers, and will hold the deciding vote, in the event of a tie. (A. C., Art. II Sect. II., 2009) Section. III. Each seated member of the House will act with dignity, befitting the composition of the assembly, for they advise for the betterment of the realm and people. The Chancellor is given assent to dismiss members of the assembly should they act adversely. Section. IV. The House of Lords shall act as arbiters of sage council for the realm. As an extension of the authorities offered to them, we entrust in them the faculty to receive petitions from the people of Alba and assent Our Lords to advise on matters of conflict within the realm. ARTICLE. III. On Privy Offices. It is the prerogative of the Sovereign to establish and appoint ministerial offices within the Privy Council, for the purpose of aiding in the governance of Our dominion. As We have made appointments to Our council-cabinet previously, and received due recommendation from the legislative organs of Our realm, We codify Our right to appoint ministerial offices of the Privy Council here. Section. I. The Sovereign may maintain the governance of the realm by creation of an advisory council to assist in matters administrative. Members of Our privy-cabinet (The Privy Council) shall be given authority to commit actions and resolutions that relate to their office, including but not limited to the hiring of assistants beneath them. Section. II. The Sovereign shall possess sole authority to appoint persons to their Privy Council. Appointments and the establishment of governing offices shall remain within the Sovereign’s discretion, as necessity and service to the realm require. Officers of the Privy, and state, may include: Chancellor, Exchequer, Lord Marshal etcetera, Section. III. Our ministers shall remain accountable to the Sovereign. As We possess the right of appointment to the Council, so too does the Sovereign retain the authority to dismiss officers, where it serves the good governance of Alba. Copies of this act are to be reproduced and stored within the Johannian Archives, for safeguarding and the prosperity of the realm. In witness whereof, this Act is decreed by the Archduke and Archduchess of Alba and witnessed by the House of Lords, In the year of Our Lord 2040. The Lord of Newcastle, George of Dover the younger, received word from his Lady-wife of the gathering. Though he was reluctant to attend at first, he was enticed by the opportunity to dress in his finest. “We must look our best Helaine [@Cubicita]. I shall have nay children of mine, nor wife, upstaged by some lesser shrew’s icky brood.” . . . During the next few evenings, an array of fine sparkling garbs and caps were laid out for the Earl, all in preparation for the event.

The newly appointed 2nd Earl of Dover, George the Younger, sat within the confines of Newcastle. He was watching over his newborn George Edward, a sense of overprotectiveness overcame him. The loss of his dearest Father had dealt a blow. Though the Count kept appearances publicly, the grief was overwhelming at times. As one soul left for the skies so came another to replace it. A George for a George…

A storm raged over Rikardsburg, seat of the Augusten margravate, heavy rain hammered against its steep, pallid walls and howling winds swelled through the halls of the keep. The river Petra, far below, expanded from the downpour and pushed its dark waters against the valley cliffs with a virile temper. Schwyz was quiet that tempestuous night, word of war had sent off many Schwyzers as levies and those who remained kept themselves cloistered in their homesteads, for fear of any parties in search of blood or plunder. Memories of the coalition war haunted the eldest of the Solland province, including the elder Margrave, who had been a combatant in the coalition war. In his lone margravial chambers rested Friedrich von Augusten, a dull fire burnt at the coals in the hearth adjacent to his tester bed. Hushed devotions for penance escaped him, between each wheezy breath. He carried the lorraine of his late but favourite cousin, Alrisha, a token she had received for her devote service to the old Petrine order of Julianites. He grappled the thing tightly, clutching it with his swollen yet wrinkled hands pressed against his tight chest. The Margrave had long been suffering from ailments due to his age, and large size, but had lived many years past what even he believed was possible. Where many of his peers had long passed, nations fallen and arisen, his own place of birth, Whitespire and the United Kingdom of Aaun, were now dust and becoming increasingly distant memories, yet he still held breath, a breath that came with an adventitious wheeze, but his decrepit person had outlasted many. Friedrich had been suffering a quiet sorrow as he continued to outlive his own strength. The elder Vander had watched his infirm form endure a slow decay of health, the tightening of joints and the ceaseless ache and pains in his bloated legs; it was a cruel fate, to die old. The weight of years had tired him to no end, not just from his failing body or the laboured breath, but in the solitude that settles in his heart. Friends had passed, the world had moved on, yet pain remained, a constant companion in the long, empty hours of waiting. He felt little dignity in his lingering existence, he might not have shown it for the wellbeing of his children and grandchildren, but for many months he had only felt the dull, relentless suffering of his body too stubborn to die. The great Margrave had endured through the troubles of his family, as a boy, he had lived the humbling existence of the refugee and yet in his long years he had achieved heights unfathomed for his kinship. Now, the revered arbiter of the Margravate of Schwyz, an achievement his progeny, he prayed, would bear with honour and servitude. He had forever been a faithful man, his first master was always The Almighty, and he had been since boyhood. Indeed, as a sickly, bedridden boy, he had ever hoped to serve 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙 with not just spirit but his very being, yet He had intended his servant Friedrich to be a steward of lands not a man of the cloth. In truth he felt his greatest success had been to raise his kinder well, for where he may have had to tolerate hardship, he hoped, they might never struggle. He, the eldest of living Augustens had marked the family with his zeal, the family would surely ever be in service to Church, Sacred Laws of Waldenia and 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙. The humble servant laid there, and suddenly he felt a rising tightness in his chest then a piercing pressure came from beneath the ribs of his rotund torso. The patriarch ceased his pennant prayers to exhale sharply, he shifted himself with a loud huff, the chambers creaked at his every movement, then came his panic-struck pleas “Penance, Penance, Penance, Penance…” Yet it was futile, for then came a sudden and crushing force that overwhelmed him. As though his heart had been pulled from out of his chest, his hands pawed forth clawing and convulsing in an attempt to appease his pain. A pain unlike any tore through him and he felt as though he had been pulled in twine, his breath hitched and stifled. His great body lurched as his frail heart gave to the weight of his years. In a final attempt he half opened his mouth but no cry escaped, only a rattled choking wheeze. Then he felt numbness spreading through him and his vision blurred, the dim shadows of the hearth twisted into daggered shapes until blackness was all he could see. Then a final sickening crack echoed from deep within his chest, all came to an end. The storm had still been beating through Solland, the winds howling outside and then for a few beats there was absolute stillness, and the world held its breath. The storm cleared for a moment and the soft silver light of the night’s moon poured over Rikardsburg, and the river Petra gleamed, all was calm. It was almost as though the skies themselves had noticed the sudden passing and were beckoning his spirit forth. Yet though the life of Friedrich had left his grey corpse there was a silent peace at that moment and all was good. Once the winds had turned the storm returned, bellowing through and against the keep once more, the bells of Rikardsburg, and beyond, rang as knells that could be heard throughout Solland and further on to Vallagne. All that could be done was to hope all the prayers Friedrich had committed in his long life might come to fruition, for he was now passed. O’ Holy GOTT, incline Your ear, unto our prayers. We humbly pray You to show Your mercy upon the soul of Your servant Friedrich, Whom Thou hast commanded to pass out of this world, that Thou wouldst place him in the region of peace and light, and bid him be a partaker with Your Saints and Seven Skies. By my right in Petran law, as the Margrave of Schwyz, and by his right as the appointed heir of Schwyz, the Viscount of Azor; all of my lands, wealth, authority and responsibility as a peer of the river realm, and as for when I was living Margrave of Schwyz, Count of Hohengarten & Lord of Rikardsburg, do grant, afford and pass, in full faith und clear mind, all previously named, unto Lord 𝔎𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔫𝔱𝔦𝔫 𝔏𝔢𝔬𝔫 𝔳𝔬𝔫 𝔄𝔲𝔤𝔲𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔫. He shall be executor and hold sole authority on the matter of Friedrich von Augusten’s inheritance, where he is charged to fulfil the final wishes and desires of I, the deceased, to the best of his ability. Once confirmed as the Margrave of our lands, Lord Konstantin shall be graced with the grand honour of taking the seat of the Augusten Patriarchate, and so in tandem assumes the responsibility of the Elector of Hohengarten. May he protect and defend all current and past Augustens, her sister-cadet house of von Leopold and further cadet of Falkner, defend their liberty and be home for them should it be necessary. Upon my death our body ist to be dressed in the arms deserving of the Lord Vandalore and Grandmaster of the Vandorian Order, that of the Vander Knights, and placed in a coffin to be displayed in the Chapel of Saint Michael, for a period of time, where mourners and travelers may pay their respects to our earthly body. Whence the period of mourning has been satisfied, my remains are to be blessed and prepared for funerary rites. The funeral ceremonies shall be committed within the Chapel of Saint Michael by a clergyman of Owynist rite, for as I had lived by the Owynsiah’s way, I wish to be commemorated for such. Our remains shall be destroyed by funeral pyre, wherein a portion of the ashes shall be stored in an urn that shall be offered as a gift to the Waldenic Diet. This, an act of final commitment, and memory, to our service to the Diet as Elector of Hohengarten, and later Lord Vandalore. It is our hope that insofar as the successes of our Vandaloreship may allow, this portion of our remains shall find rest in the newly constructed chantry, whence it is completed. The remaining ashes are to be stored alongside the other members of House von Augusten, and her cadets, in the crypts of Rikardsburg, where I shall finally be laid to final rest. All family treasures, namely The Novellen Ruby (of 1827), The Azorite Stone Bracelet (of 1817) etcetera, are granted unto Lord Konstantin von Augusten, the executor, may he protect them and keep them well. As to be decided at the discretion of the executor, individual items may be distributed amongst our immediate family, with conditions that they shall be restored to the Augusten main line, and not lost to further succession, so they may be kept for the future generations of the Vander house of von Augusten. On matters regarding mein blessed eye and arm, they are to be removed from our dead body and placed aside to be inherited, as per our wishes. Whereas, our mechanical arm and all its appendages are to be brought into status of a treasure of our noble family, our eye is to be gifted unto the Lord Edward Cecilius Alstion. As his 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙-father it shall be a mark of mein commitment to his gutte education, for may he remember our legacy as one for peace and wise choices. Let us pray it shall nicht be of use to any other than myself. Several donations are to be made from the inheritance of our wealth. An anonymous donation of several marks are to be made to the cloistered monastics of the Monastery of Saint Rhosyn, for the commission of icons in reverence to the Saints Michael, the patron of our noble house von Augusten, and Saint Julia, patron saint of mothers. Alongside other minor donations, a fund is to be made with wealth accrued by this will for the eventual construction of the township of Konstadt, this, to be decided by my executor. The remainder of all our moveable goods and other personal effects, after my testament fulfilled, are bequeath to be entirely disposed of by my executor in works of charity for the gutte of my soul; such as in the celebration of masses, distribution to poor people, repairs to bridges and roads, and other pious uses. Lord Konstantin’s own gutte judgement will be most pleasing to 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙 and most profitable for the salvation of mein own soul and souls of mein kinship. ✠ 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙 𝕾𝖊𝖌𝖓𝖊 ✠ Signed, The Most Honourable, 𝕱𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖉𝖗𝖎𝖈𝖍 𝕳𝖆𝖓𝖘 𝖛𝖔𝖓 𝕬𝖚𝖌𝖚𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖓, Margrave of Schwyz & Vanderfell, Lord Vandalore, Grandmaster of the Reformed Vandorian Order and the Order of the Black Eagle, Count of Hohengarten, Lord of Rikardsburg, Patriarch of House von Augusten, Elector of Hohengarten & Deacon of Casica.

✠ The Lord Vandalore, Friedrich von Augusten, in his ailing state, was brought forward the letter during one of his reposes. He was laying homey, yet haggard, in his margravial chambers. He looked raddled but his grizzled gaze was poised intently as he observed the letter. To himself, he made a few unintelligible grumbles between each line he read. Upon his attention for the letter spent, he passed the missive aside and turned his grey face to the traceried windows of the chamber. He pondered the nescient words of the cardinal, yet he could find no words to explain how little the letter had inspired his inner Vander, so the elder margrave huffed, wearied, and returned to resting.

✠ ZEHNTE WALDENTAG The Findings of Lord Vandalore on the Incident at Calliopeburg The final report of Lord Vandalore Friedrich von Augusten, Seventeenth Vandalore, on the matter of the Incident at Calliopeburg. Issued and averred by the 𝕷ord 𝖁andalore At the adjuration of the Electors of The Waldenic Diet. The Year of Our Lord, 2016. Das Jahr unseres Herrn, 2016. ✠ THE FINAL REPORT ON THE INCIDENT AT CALLIOPEBURG THE FRIEDRICHSHAIN RECORD ON CALLIOPEBURG Scribed by the seat of the Lord Vandalore; The Most Honourable, Friedrich von Augusten. 𝔓RESENTED BEFORE THE WALDENIC DIET, DURING THE THIRD SESSION OF THE TENTH DIET. PROFERRED BEFORE THE DIET’s ELECTORS, KNIGHTS OF VANDER, WALDENIC HOUSES AND ALL OF WALDENIAN BLOOD & ILK. TO BE VOTED UPON AND CONFIRMED, AT THE DELECTATION OF THE ELECTORS OF THE DIET, TO SATISFY THE MOTION SINCE PASSED FOR AN INVESTIGATION TO BE COMPLETE ABOUT THE GRAVE INCIDENT AT CALLIOPEBURG. FOREWORD VORWORT 𝕷𝖔 und behold! - We write here the findings and conclusions of our inquiries into the Incident at Calliopeburg. It has been a haunting matter of dread for all Waldenians, the fall of Aaun and the start of the Holy Regency brought great turmoil to the Franklands and indeed, as each Waldenian looked on in horror, resulted in the collapse of our blessed Chantry of Saint Calliope, Calliopeburg. Those sacred lands of the Calliwald, where Waldenic pilgrims could seek refuge and make prayers for the martyrs and blessed Saints of our kindred folk. It was a great place of peace, unity and religion. Though the Calliwald and the hills besides the Langkettes, where Calliopeburg once stood, now eerily sit bare and without our chantry. This is the purpose of investigation and report, the Electors of the Diet demand, and quite rightly, answers for the mystery that unfolded there. We, Lord Vandalore, have sought testimonial and explanation from many folk, and we have endeavoured to answer the many questions we Vanders have had, for so many long years. All we hope is that 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙’s justice is served by our hand and with these writings His truth is told. We also have scribed here our proposed resolutions, we pray that these also will be satisfactory for the Diet and Waldenia. ✠ PROMISES TO THE DIET VERSPRECHEN AN DIE WALDENTAG Upon the proposal of the vote we, the Lord Vandalore, set certain aims to achieve concerning the Incident at Calliopeburg. Namely, to uncover the truth of the events that transpired, including who had come to destroy the chantry? How did it come to happen in the first place? Who had desecrated the sacred land there? And, what might be done to bring resolution to these transgressions that have transpired? It was a motion that passed unanimously, as have many motions during this Tenth Diet, but one that should be felt profoundly and once completed should clean the dark stain that has been left from the fall of our blessed Chantry. It is a heart full of rigor that we believe that we, as the Waldenic Diet, were too slow to act in regards to Calliopeburg. Though, as we have come to understand as we have conducted this investigation, this issue is much more complex and multifaceted than first thought. And, as this investigation took place, indeed it became clear that because of time misspent we may never truly discover what took place there. But, this report shares all information that has been gathered, and hopes to conclude what has been such a looming issue. THE SYNDICATE ENVOY DER SYNDIKATSGESANDTE Upon the motion’s passing, the Motion to Allow the Knights of The Vander to Begin Investigations into The Incident at Calliopeburg, and even before the investigation began properly we, the Lord Vandalore, received notice from the Syndicate Envoy. This note reads as such: “ʟᴏʀᴅ ᴠᴀɴᴅᴀʟᴏʀᴇ, ʙʟᴇꜱꜱɪɴɢꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʜʀᴇᴇ ᴜᴘᴏɴ ʏᴏᴜ. ɪ ꜱʜᴀʟʟ ᴋᴇᴇᴘ ᴍʏ ʟᴇᴛᴛᴇʀ ꜱʜᴏʀᴛ ɪɴ ᴡʀɪᴛɪɴɢ. ɪ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʙᴇᴇɴ ᴇᴍᴘᴏᴡᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴀɴꜱᴡᴇʀ ᴀɴʏ Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ ʏᴏᴜ ᴍɪɢʜᴛ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʀᴇɢᴀʀᴅɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴀʟʟ ᴏꜰ ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇʙᴜʀɢ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇʀꜱᴘᴇᴄᴛɪᴠᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱʏɴᴅɪᴄᴀᴛᴇ ʟᴇɢᴀᴛɪᴏɴ. ɪ ᴀᴍ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴛᴜʀɴ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄɪᴛʏ ʙʏ ꜱᴀɪɴᴛ’ꜱ ʏᴇᴀʀ’ꜱ ᴏᴛᴛᴏᴍᴀꜱ ɪɴ ꜰɪꜰᴛᴇᴇɴ ᴅᴀʏꜱ, ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ᴡʜɪᴄʜ ɪ ꜱʜᴀʟʟ ʙᴇ ᴀᴠᴀɪʟᴀʙʟᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴀꜱꜱɪꜱᴛ ʏᴏᴜʀ ɪɴᴠᴇꜱᴛɪɢᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅɪꜱᴄᴜꜱꜱ ᴀɴʏ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ɪᴍᴘᴏʀᴛᴀɴᴛ ᴍᴀᴛᴛᴇʀꜱ. ᴡᴇᴀʟᴛʜ ʙᴇʏᴏɴᴅ ᴍᴇᴀꜱᴜʀᴇ, ꜱɪʀ ᴅᴀʀɪꜱ ᴠᴇʀᴇᴛʜɪ, ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴀʟᴠɪᴀɴ.“ A meeting was promptly organised so that we might gather the facts from those who may have a far better grasp on the facts on the events that transpired at Calliopeburg. It shall be noted here that the Salvians have not attended the Waldenic Diet for several decades, maybe more than a semi-centenary, however they have been known to hold a long history with our Diet and were said to have held an outpost in the complex of the Chantry of Calliopeburg. In meeting with Sir Daris we were able to establish a series of events, and he was able to establish a main culprit along with other personal theories and suspicions. We note that Sir Daris does not claim to have directly witnessed the fall of Calliopeburg but passes word along from one of his fellow Salvian ordermen. As described by the Syndicate Envoys, due to the Waldenic Diet’s failure to properly act to protect the Chantry of Calliopeburg, the blessed fortress fell to the hands of Orenids. Folk who had exploited the weakness of the Apostolic Kingdom of Aaun’s fall, and saw opportunity in further insulting Waldenia’s people by bringing destruction to the chantry. During this collapse however the Envoy was able to recover all of the Waldenic holy relics, most notably the blessed remains of Saint Calliope. However, at the cost of this the forces there were overwhelmed and the Orenids destroyed and desecrated the holy place and also captured the Proprietress of the chantry, Lady Katharina von Alstreim. From speaking with the Electorate of Merryweather-Alstreim, it has become apparent that the Proprietress may still be alive in captivity. This may be a surprise and indeed we have no clear indication where her prison may be, it seems the Orenids have fallen silent over these last few decades, but Waldenians must remain vigilant always. For we may be able to recover her one day. We might add here, that the Proprietress, as claimed by the Holy Regency, whilst under imprisonment by the Orenids the Envoy spoke of, was able to deliver correspondence to the High Pontiff. Though we will also add that the letter was not signed by the Proprietress’ own hand but rather aides of the chantry. This has been clarified to us so generously by the Electorate of Merryweather-Alstreim. “ɢᴏᴅ ʙʟᴇꜱꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴘʀᴇꜱᴇʀᴠᴇ. ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴏᴘʀɪᴇᴛᴏʀꜱʜɪᴘ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏʟʏ ꜰᴏʀᴛɪꜰɪᴇᴅ ᴄʜᴀɴᴛʀʏ ᴏꜰ ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇʙᴜʀɢ ɪꜱ ꜱᴀᴅᴅᴇɴᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ɪɴꜰᴏʀᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴀᴜɴɪᴄ ʀᴇɢᴇɴᴄʏ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴜɴꜰᴏʀᴛᴜɴᴀᴛᴇ ɪɴᴄᴀᴘᴀᴄɪᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴏᴘʀɪᴇᴛʀᴇꜱꜱ. ᴡʜɪʟᴇ ɪɴᴠᴇꜱᴛɪɢᴀᴛɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴜᴅᴅᴇɴ ᴀɴᴅ ᴍʏꜱᴛᴇʀɪᴏᴜꜱ ᴅɪꜱᴀᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍɪᴅʟᴀɴᴅꜱ ᴡᴀʀ ᴍᴇᴍᴏʀɪᴀʟ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀꜱꜱ ɢʀᴀᴠᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴛᴡᴏ ʜᴜɴᴅʀᴇᴅ ᴄɪᴠɪʟɪᴀɴ ᴠɪᴄᴛɪᴍꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴀʀ, ꜱᴜꜱᴘᴇᴄᴛɪɴɢ ᴀ ꜰᴏᴜʟ ᴅʀᴜɪᴅɪᴄ ᴘʟᴏᴛ (ꜱᴇᴇɪɴɢ ᴀꜱ ᴛʜᴇꜱᴇ ʟᴀɴᴅᴍᴀʀᴋꜱ ɢᴀᴠᴇ ᴡᴀʏ ᴛᴏ ᴀ ꜰᴜʟʟʏ-ꜱᴘʀᴏᴜᴛᴇᴅ ꜰᴏʀᴇꜱᴛ ɪɴ ʟᴇꜱꜱ ᴛʜᴀɴ ᴀ ꜱᴀɪɴᴛ'ꜱ ᴅᴀʏ), ʜᴇʀ ᴇxᴄᴇʟʟᴇɴᴄʏ ᴡᴀꜱ ʀᴇᴘᴏʀᴛᴇᴅʟʏ ꜱᴇɪᴢᴇᴅ ʙʏ ᴀ ʙᴀɴᴅ ᴏꜰ ᴏʀᴇɴɪᴅꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅʀᴀɢɢᴇᴅ ᴀᴡᴀʏ ᴛᴏ ᴀɴ ᴜɴᴅɪꜱᴄʟᴏꜱᴇᴅ ʟᴏᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴀꜰᴛᴇʀ ꜰᴇʟʟɪɴɢ ꜱᴇᴠᴇʀᴀʟ. ᴏʀᴇɴɪᴅꜱ ᴀʀᴇ, ᴀꜱ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴇʟʟ ᴋɴᴏᴡ, ꜱᴀᴜʟɪᴛᴇ ᴍᴜᴛᴀɴᴛꜱ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴀ ᴘᴇɴᴄʜᴀɴᴛ ꜰᴏʀ ᴋɪᴅɴᴀᴘᴘɪɴɢꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴍᴜᴛɪʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴋɪɴ ᴏꜰ ʜᴏʀᴇɴ; ʜᴏᴡᴇᴠᴇʀ, ᴄᴇʀᴛᴀɪɴ ꜰᴇᴀᴛᴜʀᴇꜱ ᴏꜰ ꜱᴄᴀʀʀɪɴɢ ᴘʀᴏᴍɪɴᴇɴᴛ ᴜᴘᴏɴ ʜᴇʀ ᴇxᴄᴇʟʟᴇɴᴄʏ ᴀʀᴇ ᴋɴᴏᴡɴ ᴛᴏ ɪɴᴅᴜᴄᴇ ꜱᴜᴘᴇʀꜱᴛɪᴛɪᴏᴜꜱ ꜰᴇᴀʀ ᴀᴍᴏɴɢ ᴛʜɪꜱ ʀᴇɴᴇɢᴀᴅᴇ ꜰᴏʟᴋ, ᴀɴᴅ ᴡᴇ ʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴇ ꜱʜᴇ ʀᴇᴍᴀɪɴꜱ ᴀʟɪᴠᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ᴜɴʜᴀʀᴍᴇᴅ, ᴀɴᴅ ᴍᴀɪɴᴛᴀɪɴᴇᴅ ɪɴ ʜᴇʀ ᴏʀᴅᴇᴀʟ ʙʏ ʜᴇʀ ᴀʀᴅᴇɴᴛ ᴢᴇᴀʟ ᴀɴᴅ ꜰᴀɪᴛʜ. ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴏᴘʀɪᴇᴛʀᴇꜱꜱ ɪꜱ ʀᴇꜱᴄᴜᴇᴅ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄʟᴜᴛᴄʜᴇꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴠɪʟᴇ ᴏʀᴇɴɪᴅ ʜᴏꜱᴛ, ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴏʀᴛɪꜰɪᴇᴅ ᴄʜᴀɴᴛʀʏ ꜱʜᴀʟʟ ᴄᴏɴꜱɪᴅᴇʀ ɪᴛꜱᴇʟꜰ ʀᴇᴘʀᴇꜱᴇɴᴛᴇᴅ ʙʏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴇʟᴇɢᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀɪɴᴄɪᴘᴀʟɪᴛʏ ᴏꜰ ᴍᴇʀʀʏᴡᴇᴀᴛʜᴇʀ ᴀꜱ ᴘᴇʀ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇꜱᴛᴀʙʟɪꜱʜɪɴɢ ᴛᴇʀᴍꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇʙᴜʀɢ ɢʀᴀɴᴛ. ꜱᴀɪɴᴛ ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜ ᴏᴠᴇʀ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀɴᴅ ɢʀᴀɴᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴇʀ ʙʟᴇꜱꜱɪɴɢꜱ.“ The note was revealed to us by His Holiness’ Justice Ledicourt Vuiller, but the topic of this letter shall be covered in greater detail in another section of this report. Upon the conclusion of the meeting the Sir Daris came to share that the Salvian Order would be recalling its men to Salvus, and shared that they had become despondent with the response of the Waldenic Diet, and so had recalled them for this reason. The Syndicate has since been recalled and has severed its treaties with the Waldenic Diet. They shall not be able to properly receive this report, and indeed did not wait to hear it at this third session of the tenth Diet. Though we understand that they were clearly issued with a tight constraint of time before they had to leave, this was the first call they had notified the Waldenic Diet with that firstly, they were aware of the events at Calliopeburg and secondly that they had such a great concern in the matter. We repeat once more, that the Syndicate Envoy has not been sent a representative to the Diet in a long time. To finish on this section we shall share the personal theories of Sir Daris, some that concern us. The knight stated that he believed there to be a politicking force within the seat of the Holy Regency that had plotted to dismantle the Waldenian peoples that inhabited the Calliwald, Velen and Merryweather. And indeed shared that he believed that the Waldenic Diet should demand retribution for the destruction of Calliopeburg from the Mother Church, because, as he believes, they neglected the sacred rights of our people and allowed the place to be destroyed. This, along with plots to destroy Merryweather, the past lands of the Electorate of Merryweather-Alstreim, and Velen, the past lands of the ex-Electorate of Velen. It was Sir Daris' interpretation that the church wished to appropriate these lands so that they could wield greater authority over them, and have access to their exploitation. And though Sir Daris does not believe the Pontiff to have been directly involved in these plots, he does believe there to be a malevolent force within the institution. We, Lord Vandalore, do not believe this and upon conversations with the church have found that things cannot be so clearly regarded. As a last effect of this section we shall state that the Envoy has since sent out their Ottomas Resolution which has made severance with the Waldenic Diet, they have ended all connections with our ancient assembly and have speculated that the late Princess Adalfriede and our-self, have shown lack of action on the matter of Calliopeburg, and have accused us of cowardice and self-interest. We rebuttal these claims and recommend our belief that the Salvian Order has been corrupted. We pray this report graces their lands, but unless they return in penance to beg forgiveness for their unfounded claims against Church and this Diet they are no longer welcome to attend us. Their inaction to solve this issue or even bring forward their knowledge has hindered its cause and diluted its evidence. And though they may claim to have mistrusted us, this Diet’s concern over the matter of Calliopeburg has been what has led to proper action, not the inactive Syndicate Envoy. * We note here, in regards to the condemnation of the Syndicate Envoy. We, as Lord Vandalore, have found it just to retribute the Salvian Order’s declaration with this censure. However, once this report passed by the gutte purview of the Diet the Electorate of Merryweather-Alstreim has made it clear that they cannot agree with this condemnation, due to their close personal ties to the order. We add here the words of the electorate. “ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴇɢᴇɴᴄʏ ᴄᴏᴜɴᴄɪʟ [of Merryweather] ᴄᴀɴɴᴏᴛ, ɪɴ ɢᴏᴏᴅ ᴄᴏɴꜱᴄɪᴇɴᴄᴇ, ɢʀᴀɴᴛ ᴀꜱꜱᴇɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ꜱᴜᴄʜ ᴀ ꜱᴡᴇᴇᴘɪɴɢ ᴄᴏɴᴅᴇᴍɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴀʟᴠɪᴀɴ ꜱʏɴᴅɪᴄᴀᴛᴇ ᴏꜰ ꜰᴀᴜꜱᴛᴇɴ ᴏɴ ʙᴇʜᴀʟꜰ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇʟᴇᴄᴛᴏʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴍᴇʀʀʏᴡᴇᴀᴛʜᴇʀ-ᴀʟꜱᴛʀᴇɪᴍ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏᴜꜱᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴀʟꜱᴛʀᴇɪᴍ. ᴡᴇ ʀᴇQᴜᴇꜱᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇꜱᴇ ᴄʟᴀɪᴍꜱ ᴀʀᴇ ᴘʀᴇꜰᴀᴄᴇᴅ ʙʏ ᴀ ᴄʟᴇᴀʀ ᴀꜱꜱᴇʀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇʏ ʀᴇᴘʀᴇꜱᴇɴᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇʀꜱᴏɴᴀʟ ᴏᴘɪɴɪᴏɴ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ʟᴏʀᴅ ᴠᴀɴᴅᴀʟᴏʀᴇ. ᴛʜᴇ ᴇʟᴇᴄᴛᴏʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴍᴇʀʀʏᴡᴇᴀᴛʜᴇʀ-ᴀʟꜱᴛʀᴇɪᴍ ꜱʜᴀʟʟ, ᴀꜱ ᴘᴀʀᴛ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴀʟᴅᴇɴɪᴄ ᴅɪᴇᴛ, ᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴡɪꜱᴇ ᴀʙɪᴅᴇ ʙʏ ᴀʟʟ ʀᴇᴄɪᴘʀᴏᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴍᴇᴀꜱᴜʀᴇꜱ ᴛᴏᴡᴀʀᴅꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱʏɴᴅɪᴄᴀᴛᴇ.“ THE JUSTICE OF THE HOLY REGENCY DER GERECHTIGKEIT DER HEILIGEN REGENTSCHAFT With our preliminary investigations complete it came time to make contact with the Church, and Holy Regency, to conduct interviews in regards to this matter. We, Lord Vandalore, had asked that the Knights of the Vander open contact with the Church and begin investigating the involvement of the Regency and to gather their facts on the events. This came before we felt the need to go on leave for the purpose of pilgrimage and the cleansing of our soul. This became necessary after we had conducted the interview with Sir Daris, for the zeal we hold for the faith was shaken. I worried that the Church’s involvement was a possibility. Though now we remain certain it does not. Upon our return it was clear that garnering the attention of the Church would be difficult, in obligation to their knightly duties the Vander Knights had not had time to properly conduct interviews with officials of the Mother Church. We rendered our-self to Mont Lemon and after several attempts, were able to come in contact with a Holy Knight. Apart from reaffirming the mysterious fall of Calliopeburg he passed me unto the Justice Ledicort Vuiller, who we were able to quickly call a meeting with. His Apostolic Excellency had written reports on the events that transpired at Calliopeburg, from the perspective of the Holy Regency’s government, and was able to share them with me. Such as the Pontiff’s response to Proprietress Katharina von Alstreim’s plea: “ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴀʀʀᴇɴɪᴛᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ᴘʀɪᴇꜱᴛ, ʀᴇɢᴀʀᴅɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴀʀʀɪꜱᴏɴ ᴀᴅᴍɪɴɪꜱᴛʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ɪɴ ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇʙᴜʀɢ, ᴡᴇ ᴀʀᴇ ᴠᴇʀʏ ꜱᴏʀʀʏ ᴛᴏ ʜᴇᴀʀ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟɪɢʜᴛ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴋᴇᴇᴘᴇʀ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏɴᴀꜱᴛᴇʀʏ ᴀᴛ ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇʙᴜʀɢ, ᴀɴᴅ, ʙᴇɪɴɢ ᴏᴜʀꜱᴇʟᴠᴇꜱ ᴏꜰ ʜᴀʀʀᴇɴɪᴛᴇ ᴇxᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴ, ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴠᴇʀʏ ᴡᴇʟʟ ᴛʜᴇ ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴅɪʙʟᴇ ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀ ᴏꜰ ᴏʀᴄʜɪᴅꜱ. ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ɪꜱ ɴᴏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴅᴇꜱᴘɪᴄᴀʙʟᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴜꜱ ᴛʜᴀɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀᴋꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴀᴇ, ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴀɪʀʏ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰꜰꜰꜰꜰʟᴏᴡᴇʀ. ɴᴇɪᴛʜᴇʀ ᴀʀᴇ ᴡᴇ ᴠᴇʀʏ ᴘᴀʀᴛɪᴀʟ ᴛᴏ ꜰʟᴀʏꜱ, ʙᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪꜱ ᴀɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ᴍᴀᴛᴛᴇʀ. ɪɴᴅᴇᴇᴅ ɪᴛ ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴜᴛʏ ᴏꜰ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏ ɢᴀᴇʟ, ɢᴀᴜʟ ᴀɴᴅ ɢᴀʟᴀᴛɪᴀɴ, ꜱᴏ ꜱᴇᴛ ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴛʜɪꜱ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ ʙʏ ᴛʜᴇ ʟᴏʀᴅ ʜɪꜱ ɢᴏᴅ, ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇɪɴꜰᴏʀᴄᴇᴅ ʙʏ ʜᴜɴᴅʀᴇᴅꜱ ᴏꜰ ʏᴇᴀʀꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴘᴇʀꜱᴇᴄᴜᴛɪᴏɴ ᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴀɴᴅ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ɢʀᴀꜱꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴍᴏꜱꜱ, ᴛʜᴇ ꜰʀᴏɢꜱ, ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴏɢꜱ, ᴛʜᴇ ꜱɴᴀᴋᴇꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ɪʟʟ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴇᴅ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛᴜʀᴇꜱ, ʜɪꜱ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴛᴏ ᴇᴠɪᴄᴛ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇ, ʙʏ ᴀɴʏ ᴍᴇᴀɴꜱ, ᴛʜᴇ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛᴜʀᴇꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴇᴄᴇᴘᴛɪᴠᴇ ꜱᴡᴀᴍᴘʟᴀɴᴅꜱ. ɪꜰ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ᴡᴇ ᴍᴀʏ ʙᴇ ɪɴ ᴀɴʏ ᴡᴀʏ ᴀɴ ᴀɪᴅ ᴛᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴇꜱᴄᴜᴇ ᴏꜰ ʏᴏᴜʀ ꜰᴏʀᴛʀᴇꜱꜱ-ᴘʀɪꜱᴏɴ ᴍᴏɴᴀꜱᴛɪᴄꜱ, ᴡᴇ ᴀʀᴇ ʜᴀᴘᴘʏ ᴛᴏ ᴘʀᴏᴠɪᴅᴇ. ᴀᴅᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟʟʏ, ᴡᴇ ꜱʜᴀʟʟ ʙᴇ ᴅᴇʟᴇɢᴀᴛɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴜᴘᴋᴇᴇᴘ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜɪꜱ ᴍᴏɴᴀꜱᴛᴇʀʏ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴇʟᴀᴛᴇ ꜰᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄʟᴇʀɢʏ, ᴄᴀʀᴅɪɴᴀʟ ᴊᴀᴍᴇꜱ, ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪᴛ ʀᴇᴍᴀɪɴ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴏᴏᴅ ʜᴀɴᴅꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴀʙʟᴇ-ʙᴏᴅɪᴇᴅ ᴀᴅᴍɪɴɪꜱᴛʀᴀᴛᴏʀꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄʜᴜʀᴄʜ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴜᴇ ꜰᴀɪᴛʜ. ɢᴏᴅ ʙʟᴇꜱꜱ ʏᴏᴜ, ʜᴀʀʀᴇɴᴛᴢᴇᴅᴇᴋ :)” Of which was never responded to, as far as we are aware. Among other such topics were those concerning the Waldenic lands of Velen and Merryweather, though we remain careful in this section as we hold great respect for our fellow Vanders, as the Sacred Laws dictate we must remain truthful, and so though we may not share such beliefs as those of Justice Vuiller we must share them nonetheless. As described by the Justice, the peerages of Margravate of Velen and Principalities had been left to neglect and indeed, as registered by the Holy Regency, were not paying their due tithes to the Regency, and so had their lands revoked. The Justice also added that Merryweather had raised their own lands to ruin before eviction. We were deeply saddened to hear the fates of our fellow Heartlander Waldenic peers, and not much can be done on the Diet’s part to reclaim these lands, for that work must be done by the Electorates, though we as Lord Vandalore are open to supporting these families, should they so desire to recover these lands. On the matter of Calliopeburg, the Justice’s understanding of the event was similar to the Holy Knight’s, he had claimed that within a Saint’s Day the chantry had simply vanished. Left for ruin but by an unknown force, maybe Orenids, or mayhaps another. When the Regency had a chance to examine the site they were left unnerved, for left there were markings of insults directed at the Pontiff. It is unknown who left those insults, but they did not notice any desecrations. A very different series of events in comparison to those described by Sir Daris and the Syndicate Envoy. The Justice also shared his belief that the supposed capture of the Proprietress seemed suspicious, and indeed questioned how she was able to deliver letters whilst being entrapped. We make no similar claims, but state what was talked about. The suspicion of the event of the Proprietress’ capture were the beliefs shared to us by the Justice, he, representative of the Holy Mother Church shared this view as it was held by the Holy Regency and Church itself. Towards the end of the interview we came to discuss the matter of the lands of the Calliwald, their desecration and current ownership. Indeed, we, Lord Vandalore, have come to believe that the best resolution to this matter might be the return of the Calliopeburg lands to the Waldenic Diet, so that it may rebuild and protect the site, in its own right. We believe that should we be afforded the grant of the land and certain privileges to build and uphold this oh so important location the incident of Calliopeburg will not repeat. And so was our plea to the Justice, as Chancellor to the Curia we hoped he would accept our suggestion of resolution. It may not be perfect in the eyes of all, but it is satisfactory and at least is action to rectify what has happened. The Justice was sympathetic to our cause and agreed to speak with the Pontiff on the matter so that he might confirm that we would be able to go ahead with the matter. Our meeting came to an end and we would convene later on once the Pontiff had made his decision. THE TREATISE GRANT FOR CALLIOPEBURG DAS TREATISE GRANT FÜR CALLIOPEBURG We received word but a few Saint’s Days after our meeting with His Apostolic Excellency: “ʟᴏʀᴅ ᴠᴀɴᴅᴀʟᴏʀᴇ, ɪ ᴘʀᴀʏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀɴᴅ ʏᴏᴜʀ ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ ᴀʀᴇ ᴅᴏɪɴɢ ᴡᴇʟʟ. ɪ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʀᴇᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ ᴡᴏʀᴅ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʜʀᴏɴᴇ ᴏꜰ ꜱᴀɪɴᴛ ᴅᴀɴɪᴇʟ ʀᴇɢᴀʀᴅɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴅᴍɪɴɪꜱᴛʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴀʟʟɪᴏᴘᴇʙᴜʀɢ ᴀʀᴇᴀ. ʟᴇᴛ ᴜꜱ ꜱᴘᴇᴀᴋ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜɪꜱ ᴍᴀᴛᴛᴇʀ ᴀᴛ ᴀ ɢʀᴇᴀᴛᴇʀ ʟᴇɴɢᴛʜ ɪɴ ᴘᴇʀꜱᴏɴ. ꜱɪɴᴄᴇʀᴇʟʏ, ʟᴇᴅɪᴄᴏʀᴛ ᴠᴜɪʟʟᴇʀ.“ With calls to the Holy See upon Mont Lemon, we did return to discover the news. There we met with the Justice, as we had done before, but was also graced with the Seneschal and Premier of the Holy Regency. Men. There Justice Vuiller confirmed that the Pontifical seat had given his accord on the grant and a treatise should be decided upon for all to sign and to confirm the rights of Church and the Waldenic Diets in the lands of the Calliwald. We, Lord Vandalore, made suggestions in relation to the Sacred Laws and the privileges afforded to us Vanders, the land must be sacred for Waldenians, a place of peace and religion for our culture. And indeed all were agreed so terms were set out: to grant the portion of land to be administered by the Waldenic Diet, and leadership of the Lord Vandalore, where the Diet may construct a building of religious and cultural significance. Though administered by the Diet the lands will remain under the direct purview of the Holy Regency and the religious building will be sanctified and the Holy Mother Church will have full needed access, should they need it. The lands shall not require a tithe, considering the importance of the site for all Waldenians. Within the construction, the Diet may house monastics, or religious folk and their Knights of the Vander, and should they wish, an outpost for the Syndicate Envoy. A treaty has been planned to be written by the office of the Lord Vandalore, but we have awaited the vote of the Diet to confirm its wishes to follow after our proposed resolution. Once terms are agreed we shall negotiate more intricate terms, confirm and sign a treaty alongside the pontifical government. We pray that Waldenians shall have the chance to grace those lands once again, and reach it for pilgrimage. CONCLUSIONS Schlüsse In regards to this matter, we believe that if this report be passed and my resolution to reappropriate Calliopeburg confirmed, the Waldenic Diet may call this matter put to rest. We call for the Syndicate Envoy to return and right these wrongs, they should be welcomed back, so long as they recognise the wrongs they have done in claiming this Diet and Lord Vandalores, past und present, of being un-Vanderly. All accusations against the Church, remain unfounded, who actually destroyed Calliopeburg remains a mystery but there is much valid evidence to suggest that the Orenids, who once plagued and insulted the previous ninth Diet, are at fault here. Should Calliopeburg be returned to us, the Waldenic Diet, we shall have the place consecrated once more and we pray to see the place returned to a state of high privilege amongst us Waldenians. If this grant is confirmed by treaty we may trust that our Rights as Vanders and by the Book of Waldenia will be upheld. We must never allow insults and transgression against our own, ever again. Calliopeburg should of never fallen, und we can trust in 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙 that our people, Waldenia and this blessed Diet shall forever endure! We shall also remind all Waldenians that they have an undeniable right, sacred and blessed even, to petition this Diet for protection of their person and to uphold the rights of our culture. Wherever they may reside. 𝕾O BE HERE OUR FINDINGS, OUR DISCOVERIES, WE LORD VANDALORE, FRIEDRICH VON AUGUSTEN. WE CONFIRM THEM TO BE TRUTH AND SO HOPE THE DIET TO CONFIRM THEM BY VOTE, WHERE THEY WILL BE PUBLISHED BY THE DIET FOR ALL WALDENIANS TO SEE! ✠

✠ The Lord Vandalore, Friedrich von Augusten, was caught in prayer when the missive was tentatively brought before him. He scanned his weary eyes across the missive and heaved and huffed at each word that crossed his gaze. Once paper was read, and spent, he placed it to one side allowing himself one more tired sigh. The elder Margrave had laboured over this mission and was in the midst of completing his report for the upcoming session of the Diet. Surely resolution would come soon for Calliopeburg. The Diet would resolve this soon enough, and though the Salvians seemingly had little faith in the Augusten Vandalore, it was his mission to get to the bottom of the incident. Deceit plagued this matter but it would not blind Friedrich for he had long and often prayed that by his resolve the Vanders would know what truly happened there. Though he was soon entering his 80th year, the Lord Vandalore would, for the next few nights, work until he had burnt through a dozen candles and had used half of Rikardsburg’s stores of parchment. The matter would be resolved. By 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙’s Almighty grace, it must...
