Duncan was raised by his father and mother on a little small farm, far away from Arcas it was a land called ‘’Chaeca.’’ Duncan’s father was working far too hard on the farm, but it was only when Duncan was about eight or nine years old. That he and his mother noticed that it was beginning to influence his health and his wellbeing. Duncan’s mother had always been a caring and loveable mom, but it was hard for her to pretend that everything was okay. Duncan could see right through her because she was his mother of course, but when Duncan told his mother that knew the truth. His mom always started yelling at him, and they always got into a huge argument about money and Duncan’s father. It affected Duncan because he knew that he had to step up and do more for the family because they didn’t even have any money for medicine for his dad. Suddenly Duncan got an idea, what if he went to the marketplace in the village and asked around for a job. Duncan wasn’t unsure of his new idea, but in some ways, the possibility of a ten-year-old getting a job, would be high and what if he wouldn’t have any freedom left. Those thoughts quickly flew away from his mind, while he was walking the dirt road on a breezy summer day into the little farmer's city where he would stand on the marketplace and try to convince people to hire him. It took maybe an hour or maybe an hour and a half when he finally got into the village and found the marketplace, and right after Duncan got into the village, he went straight over to the marketplace and began yelling like people usually do at marketplaces ‘’Boy for hire, boy for hire.’’ After hours and hours of yelling and rest plus trying to get people to notice him, he got tried and suddenly just stopped yelling and trying to get people’s attention. It would probably be a good idea to go home now since it was beginning to get dark and the possibility of getting robbed was very high in this area. He was just about to leave the marketplace when a man came over to Duncan and asked ‘’Can you do hard work, and can you be polite. But atlas but not least can you bear to be away from here for 9 years?’’ the man stood tall and high over Duncan’s little and skinny buddy. Duncan looked a bit shocked but answered with a really low and quiet voice ‘’Yes mister if you’re willing to pay for my dad’s medicine his not well.’’ The man looked him a little longer and answered ‘’Sure…sure..’’ the man mumbled a bit afterward ‘’it won’t be that hard since I just sold the stolen diamond jewelry.’’ Duncan looked him a bit, unsure what to answered he thought about what he should say. In some ways, he wanted to explore the world and see everything, but he always wanted to be near his family. Without thinking a lot about it, Duncan finally decided to say ‘’Yes mister, that’s a deal’’ he took his hand out and the man did the same with a nasty grim smile ‘’Good, we’re leaving tomorrow. You better be there.’’ A day later he was on a ship with no idea where he was going or what the objective was, but an adventure it would be. While he was on the ship, he met a young feller named Rox he was about the same age as him. But Rox had learned some sword fighting when he lived at home, so when the two of them weren’t working on the deck they would train with wooden swords on the lower deck. Every day when Duncan went to bed he would think about his mom and dad, but the thought of them living healthy and good was making Duncan feel hopeful for the future. The ship sailed many places in those 9 years, Duncan even becomes the captain’s bodyguard in those years. The armor he got was solid and strong, with a green symbol on his chest the symbol represented the ‘’The siren’s song’’ which was the name of the crew of the pirate ship. The ship had finally arrived in Arcas, the ship was in the harbor for about a week, because they had some trades to do in the city. Duncan didn’t return to the boat for one reason, and one reason only he wanted too to be good he was tired of stealing and plundering people on the seas. What he wanted was to be a good person, maybe become a blacksmith and settle down the world is big of full of good and bad but how do you change a person when they’ve already become what they didn’t want to become. Duncan had heard tales of a city in this region called Atlas, it was a land that was sacred for several religions and magic arts he didn’t know the reason why but maybe it would be a region that he should wander to. It's also a region of beauty and places to explore. Before he got too Arcas he used the time to read up on the history and The Holy Orenian Empire, which was a really important empire for the land. They had a King named Daniel of Oren, which rose the pre-Godfreyian humanity between the variety of independent kings and dukes. By studying the history of Arcas, he would learn the ways of the people on a more personal level. There had been many different empires and wars in the region, and it seems like options and beliefs are a big thing to know about in this region.
