You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Estevot smiles, looking at the old hag. "Hello! Thanks for the housing." He gives a bow of gratitude before sitting down. He cleans off his glasses before continuing. "I love what you've done with the place. The candles and stuff are quite neat. Anyways I'm-" Estevot face faults and falls asleep, exhausted from his journey prior. When he wakes up, he finds the hag still staring at him. He can't tell if she's annoyed, amused, or indifferent, so he just continues where he left off. "I'm Estevot Heymor, hailing from Hyspia. I'm the son of a merchant and soldier, though mum is retired from public duty. I'm headed to Vortice though. Don't ask me why." The hag doesn't say anything, merely staring at the bubbly teen. Estevot twitches, before caving in. "Alright, it's because I want to DO something with my life. You know how boring it is sitting in a stuffy shop selling clothes and toys and bits and baubles? I don't like numbers! And mum was always going off about 'If you don't want to work in your pa's shop, go join the army,' and I don't want to! I'm not a bloody warrior, am I? Do I look like I can hold a sword? I only got me glasses and the skin on my back right now! Mum wouldn't let me even take any money because 'Struggle builds character' and I don't know what went through her bloody mind!" The hag stares at Estevot, and Estevot feels like he's being judged. "Well excuse me, you asked!" He looks outside to find that he had slept in for...about a day. "OH! I got to get going! Um-it was nice meeting you! Thanks again for letting me stay! Like the candles, thank you, again! Bye!" The young man runs off on the path to Vortice. Whether he knew what he was searching for or not, he wasn't going to sit around and hope it came to him.
