What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Sorvian Sculpting

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

The art of Sorvian Sculpting can best be described as breathing life into otherwise inanimate clay, by inserting one's own soul essence into it. It is old, extremely so, dating back to a time and place unknown and inaccessible to descendant-kind, back to the days of Ars-Annatas. It is said that a potter and soul mage was able to decipher the earth and breath life into it after hearing the legends of flesh golems, the old Sorvianistic teachings that had been long forgotten by man.

Sorvians are constructs created from clay, one's own soul, and one's own blood. It is a magic with relatively few 'spells'- All that can be done after a Sorvian has been created is to repair or reform them painstakingly through a mostly-mundane process- rebuilding an entire body to perfect dimensions, specifications, and level of detail from only clay and wood. To create a Sorvian, one must first have a keen understanding of mankind's anatomy- and put this to use, by building a figure out of clay. It will lack facial features, but the rest must be immaculately crafted. Every muscle, every limb, every joint must be replicated through a skeleton of wood and a body of clay. Next, a porcelain mask must be created, one with facial features- eyes and mouth required. A sigil must be written in one's own blood on the back of the mask- this acts as a sort of 'glue' that binds the mask to the clay and the Sorvian to its master. The body must also be completely humanoid. Animalistic bodies or bodies with unusual modifications, save up to two extra arms, will simply fail- nothing will occur, and the body itself will crack into small pieces. If the body is successful, however, the clay will harden into a more flesh-like consistency- and the Sorvian will be born, at the cost of one-third of the sculptor's soul.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Sorvian Sculpting also has several other applications beyond the creation of the Sorvian CA. Sorvian Sculptors also fashion the ability to create newts- smaller Sorvians, around the size of a halfling, that can function as meagre servants. They are usually played by the one that created them, and are not an actual CA, nor require an application.

There is also the ability for sculptors to repair their damaged Sorvians. When a Sorvian comes in with a cut or gash, all a sculptor needs to do is mix their own blood into clay, and fill in the destroyed or missing material with the bloodied clay. It will quickly harden and repair, but the wound will maintain a much paler color for the rest of the Sorvian's immortal lifespan. The pain is said to always linger, even after the wound has been 'cured', as reported by many Sorvians- a dull sensation at the site.

Finally, there is the ability to 'revive' Sorvians. How this is done depends on how the Sorvian died. If the Sorvian died by beheading, stabbing, or other means, the Sorvian may be revived by filling in the leakages or putting them back together. If they have died by their mask being cracked, they must be recreated from scratch. They will be the same Sorvian, however. A sculptor may use their mind's eye to decipher the specific sigil used on the back of any Sorvian ever created's mask- and recreate them in full.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Aether sat by the burning blue soulflame, staring deep into the burning, cold ash of the fire she was left to guard. She was alone now. She had to repopulate. The Ashkeepers would not die today, and Ars-Annatas' ring would rise once more- and True Death would be achieved. She held in one hand a porcelain mask, half white, half red, with features in their opposite colors- lips split in twain upon a boundary of porcelain and crimson. A robe, constructed from cloth and dyed in palebeast's blood- wrapped around a clay figure, immaculately sculpted, standing at around 6 feet with two arms- a holy form. With one quick slash, she dragged a knife across the palm of her hand, not once flinching- she has cut this location many times before, it is not new to her. Using her hand as a palette, she dipped her finger into the bloodied pool, and pressed it into the back of the porcelain mask. She thought hard of a name for the new arrival, furrowing her brow, before creating the insignia.

"You will awaken, earthen flesh." She said to the mask, holding it within her bloodied hands. "You may be the last. Or perhaps the first. The beginning of a new Era." The elfess slowly lowered the mask, closer and closer to the clay figure's non-visage. The moment the mask pressed into the clay, a sudden wave of relief, sorrow, and tiredness rushed over her, and she nearly collapsed- but she could not pass out yet. With labored breath, she looks into the being's eyes, slowly awakening- those holes still empty and black, yet a void not without purpose, without existence. "Arise, Wraithguard, from your slumber. A Redshroud you are, a redshroud you shall be."

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Aether loomed over the dead flame, in the ashes of what was once a great Lordship, the city of Du Loc. She turned to her sole remaining pupil, the only grown Redshroud, Itulan. "Itulan. It is time. You, of clay and twigs, will learn the art of flesh. Come." She motions for Itulan to come over, and sit by the pit of ash. In one quick motion, she carves a small chunk of his arm off- a chunk that had been cut before, one where the pain would not linger anymore than it previously did. "The most important thing for you is the act of reparations. As I die, I cannot repair you and your brethren.. You must do this on your own." The elfess took a dagger, and sliced it across her palm- before grabbing a ball of clay with her bloodied hand, kneading and tossing it between her fingers, mixing the ichor into the clay. "For you, it shall be your own soul essence, as you lack blood." She then dabs blood onto the empty hole in Itulan's arm, and molds the two pieces together- until it is uniform, different from Itulan's original shape only in color. "Now. Practice this on yourself, whenever you are hurt. It is simple- you saw it many times during Abdiel and Meneus' lifetime.. But the difficulty comes in sculpting." A weak smile took over her visage afterwards, as she pat Itulan on the back. "You will do fine. You are our future, Itulan."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

I inform the student that they have powergamed and that the action they took cannot be considered canon. Fortunately, Sorvian Sculpting isn't used in combat unless you play a Sorvian, so it is relatively easy to fix- just tell them DURING the teaching. If they continue, just keep reprimanding them, but if it grows deliberate I might have to drop them. For Sorvian players I can really only 'guide' them OOCly what to do or report them to the ST if need be.

Do you have a magic(s) you are dropping due to this app? If so, link it:

             No

Do you agree to keep the ST updated on the status of your magic app?:

             yes

Have you applied to teach this magic on this character before, and had it denied? If so, link the app.

             never

  3. MC Name:

             Slorbin

    Character's Name:

             Kevus

    Character's Age:

             n/a

Character's Original Race (N/A if not applicable):

             N/A

    Transformed form:

             Homonculus

    Creator's MC Name:

             friendlyguy83

    Creator's RP Name:

             Sahar

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

The Homonculus is a creature created entirely through Alchemical means. It is not of nature- a being made through signs and sigils, not birthed through any magic either. They are sculpted using a material known as Bogdan's Clay- although unlike Sorvians, which use actual clay, Bogdan's Clay is a mixture of actual alchemical reagents. Homonculi typically take a humanoid form, although they can be extensively edited and have parts 'grafted' onto them using Bogdan's Clay as a sculpting medium. They are proficient in alchemy from birth- as well as nearly immortal, given their regenerative properties. Their consciousness is not considered 'real', as they lack a soul.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Slightly taller than his brother, standing at around 4'5, Kevus shares the same sallowed, jaundiced skin tone. He wears a rusted helmet to cover his face. His strength is meagre, unusual given his height, only about equivalent to his brother's- midway between a halfling and a dwarf. He is considered the smarter of the pair.

Do you have a magic(s) you are dropping due to this app? If so, link it:

             n/a

Do you agree to keep Story writers updated on the status of your magic app?:

             yes

Do you understand that if this creature's lore is undergoing an activity trial and that trial fails, you will no longer be able to play this creature and will be forced to either revert the character back to its normal form (if it was a transformative type) or stop playing the character entirely (if it is an entirely new creature)?:

             yes

Memey RP or using this CA for subpar villain/bandit RP can lead to your app being denied, even after acceptance. Please put "I understand" as your response once you have read this part and understand the consequences.

             I understand

  4. Just recently, me and a group of 200 people (they just joined the server 5 minutes ago) (not turkish bots) have decided to vote out the king of oren. Coincidentally, they all decided to vote for me instead. Wowzers! We lost the war they tried to declare against us, but we have more people due to a weird technicality and faked votes on google forms!

@HogoBojo@LlirI expect my PRO status in 5-10 hours

  5. I have noticed that, although this forum has 92980 members, I am not receiving 92980 +1's on my posts. I'm not sure if this is being done intentionally or if these "friends" are forgetting to type '+1'. Either way, I've had enough. I have compiled a spreadsheet of individuals who have "forgotten" to +1 my most recent posts. After 2 consecutive strikes, your name is automatically highlighted (shown in red) and I am immediately notified. 3 consecutive strikes and you can expect an in-person "consultation".

    Think about your actions.

  6. -1's are needed. Some players are genuine, human garbage, the absolute plagued of the crop, and some people don't know that, let alone the moderation team.

Whoever has mass -1's is probably hated for good damn reason. Not just the odd one or two dislikers in RP but pages of -1's.
