Catarina was born to a small family in Sutica, where she grew up with plenty of friends as a child, though with her inability to speak with more than a soft tone, put a damper on her social life, As it was hard to get her point across. As a young adult she worked mostly as a saleswoman or other simple jobs that needed doing, because of her soft nature she found it hard to provide for herself at points. The hustle and bustle of trade that Sutica is made it easier to do so in Sutica than places such as the snowy north she had heard about. She so desperately wanted to go there, see the snow, meet the people. When the Inferi came, she decided that it was now or never. So she packed her bags, hitched a ride with a traveling trader, and headed north to see that tall Ash tree.
