    Matthias is a natural explorer, yet a coward to a fault. Finding new peaceful places in his home of Aegrothond is his favorite hobby; nature is one of the only things that truly makes him open up like a blooming flower in the sunlight. As a child, it was one of the only ways to escape from the monotonous life of being a shopkeeper's son. However, never really being one to stand up for himself has taken a toll on his behavior. He gets pushed around easily and runs from his problems instead of solving them. On his coming of age, he received an ilmyumier of a sea-colored chain, representing courage and order. Even with his ilmyumier, he still has not eschewed his cowardly ways, and looks hopefully to the day he can be a shining beacon of hope. Matthias's biggest dream is to truly be respected by others. He dreams of being a hero someday.
