Kaladar Starwarden was born to Zaded and Selene Starwarden in the homeland of the Heartlanders. He had an older brother named Odrin who was ten years older then him. Zaded was a monster slayer who was forced to retire when Odrin was six after the loss of his foot. Selene is seamstress who is kind and compassionate. When Kaladar was young his best friend was his brother Odrin. Zaded began training Odrin to become a monster slayer when he was seven and as soon as Kaladar turned seven a sword was placed in his hand and he began training under his critical father. As the years passed Odrin came to hate his father unlike Kaladar who idolized him. At the age of 17 Odrin could no longer stand it at their home and left. On his first job as a monster hunter he was killed. Zaded believed it was his fault and began training Kaladar extremely hard believing he had not prepared Odrin nearly enough. Kaladar tried his best to please his father, but nothing was ever close to being good enough. During this time Zaded became cold and distant and Selene began trying to convince Kaladar to abandon the idea of becoming a monster slayer. Zaded hated this and soon him and Selene only spoke to fight with each other. When Kaladar was 18, Zaded began to forget things. At first it was little things, but soon Zaded did not know his own sons name. Kaladar was devastated by this. He wonders how he can ever gain Zaded's approval now. He began training on his own and now at the age of 22 he feels ready set off to begin his own monster slaying career. Some part of him desperately hopes that he may do enough for his father to remember him and acknowledge his deeds.
