What do you believe are key factors for a successful event?

An event needs to be planned out and organized so that you aren't just making things up as you go along. There has to be an easily understandable purpose and reason behind the event. One of the most important things a good event could do without, is too much scripting. If the entire event is scripted, that leaves almost all of the player base out of some potentially amazing role play that can be used to further develop their character. And finally, an event has to be fun. This may seem like an obvious answer to most, but truth be told, some events that have taken place have not been very fun in my personal opinion. The players enjoy being involved in events, so I think they should be allowed to join in and role play with the actors.

What type of events are you most interested in creating?

Honestly, I am fine with creating any event that the public wants, or that the team needs. As long as it's fun for the server and the players are happy, I'm happy. Though, in my own personal taste, I think antagonistic events are very fun to play as, and be a part of.

What strengths could you contribute to the Event Team?

I've been told quite a bit that I'm a good RPer, and that people enjoy the characters I create and the situations I cause. If this sounds boastful, it is not meant that way, but I think the best thing I can bring to the E-Team is my role playing ability. Granted, it's not the best on the server by any means, but as a past Actor for the team I think it is easy to see that my words are not false. Original ideas are another thing I feel I could bring to the table. The Cultist event was very original, although it was influenced by the suggestion given by Alkenaar, it was almost completely thought up by myself and a few of the other Team members at that time. The players that were affected by it loved it, or at least they told me they did.

Create 3-5 distinct RP scenarios that you, as an actor, could create for others (at least one paragraph each):

    -The Academy-

Into the docks comes a ship from a faraway land, filled with battle hardened men that look as if they are ready to kill. They set up camp a little ways away from the sanctuary, sending one of their own to post a message on the noticeboard. He nails on the piece of parchment and walks away, a stern look across his face. People gather round to read what the stranger posted, it is an invitation to 'The Academy,' and says further information will be given upon arrival to the camp. The people that go would be in for a surprise, as this camp full of what seems to be hardened war veterans, is actually an academy for dancing. They teach ways of pacifism and expression of ones' feelings through the art of dance.

    -The Cover Up-

An invitation is sent out to all of the noble families asking them to come to a ball that will be hosted by an unnamed Baron. The ball is to be held quite a distance away from the cities, in the Baron's own personal castle. On the night of the ball, almost all of those invited make their way to the castle. They are greeted politely and served food and beverages at their leisure. The host of the ball finally introduces himself as his guards bar the gates, preventing any exit that may be made. He tells them that they will remain his guests until the following morning, when they'll be allowed to return to their homes. Meanwhile, in the now deserted areas of Oren, slavers would be making their way through the city and to their destination. They are bringing their cargo through the city, and without anyone there, they'd make it through. At the castle of the ball, the host would try to keep the people feeling comfortable. He'd act as if nothing is wrong, despite the fact that his guards have already slayed a couple that tried to leave. (The couple would most likely be played by actors.)

    -The Recovery-

A merchants caravan is traveling along the road, looking for places to sell its wares when it is ambushed by a group of bandits. The bandits take everything, leaving the people with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The group of people make there way to (generic city) and ask players for help, saying they'd be willing to give them a small reward if they can assist with getting back the stolen goods. Those that agree would go on an adventure to find the bandit hideout. Clues would be left here and there, gossipers (Team members) could tell them where they've heard the base is located, etc. Once there, the group of players would help those from the caravan take back the items from the bandits. (Basically, a fight where the bandits lose.) Once the items are found, a small reward is given to those who assisted them as a token of thanks. (Perhaps they are given something that can be linked to a future event?)

  2. As the original creator of Shade magic, I support this redeux. It came out better than I expected when I was first asked to oversee it.

Also really like this lore better than the original, writing wise. All in all, great magic, good revision, and in my opinion should be re-implemented.

((Please state your average playing time)): Anywhere between 3 - 7 hours a day.
((Please state why we can trust you with this job)): Well, I've only been banned once, and in fact it was also the only report I've ever had posted against me. I've quite a substantial amount of free time during the day, and if given the position, I can definitely dedicate a hefty amount to the position.
((Do you use skype?)): I do, my username is 'rilath' without the apostrophe's.
((How long have you been on the server?)): It's been around 2 years now.
((Why, as a player, do you wish to join the lower council?)): Because RP for me has become slightly stale, and I'd like a new experience to further my RP portfolio.
What nation do you reside in, if any: None currently, though I mostly hang around malinor.
Do you hold any allegiances to other nations and or organizations/guilds? If so state them, and their nature: None.

Do you have a criminal record, if so state your offenses: None.
Why do you feel you are suited for Job Choice 1: Well, I currently am a writer, dealing mostly in poetry. I believe education should be the prime focus of any nation. If selected I will make it my mission to make sure that every student receives the knowledge and skills they require to be a productive citizen.
If applicable, why do you feel you are suitable for Job Choice 2:
If applicable, why do you feel you are suitable for Job Choice 3:
State any comment that you think may aid you in this application here: ((Well, basically, I'm not a very good app maker. So, I'm going to go ahead and apologize in advance for the lack of content here. Mainly, I want to say that I can better show my ability to RP a position well/show my RP skill through actual RP as opposed to an application.))

  6. Might I suggest something in my personal beliefs? Why can't there be a god, and the bible just be completely untrue. Just because there is a god doesn't mean there has to be a book with first hand accounts on it. Now, I'm personally Agnostic and I believe there is a higher power, but not some vengeful god that wants to punish you if you tell a lie or forgive you for murder if you tell a priest. Why couldn't this higher power have set evolution into place? There's no reason why not.

  7. The IP will still be the same as normal, assuming you're talking about the map. I haven't read the last 8 pages.

We have Reag and Alec working on getting plugins sorted and Roze and Mau5noize mapping something together.

A quick thanks to those already helped on setting it up so far!

    'Stay tuned!'

Maybe you should read the last eight pages, Liri.. We're wanting to know the IP of the temp server Mog said would be up 'shortly.' We can tell the server is being worked on now, you don't need to tell us again. What people are asking for is what was promised in the OP by Mog, a dreamworld server like last time the server was down for a prolonged amount of time.

I don't mean to sound rude, but if all you're going to post is the repetitive "It's being worked on, guys!" then don't post. We know it is. We don't need to be told more than once.
