  1. -No Rape. This is final. It's not something we want to see RP'd. Even with consent of both parties and the use of Fade to Black, rape will not be permitted and will be dealt with harshly.

I don't understand this in the slightest. It makes absolutely no sense as to why this couldn't happen. It happened in this time period and if both parties agree to it, why not?

EDIT: I don't want Neko's super angry answer that she gave Anri. If both parties agree, then they are obviously both fine with it. Someone can still disagree with rape OOCly if they don't want it.

  2. Your Minecraft Username: ShadowGunX

    Your Monk's Name: Rilom

Your Monk's Personality: Outgoing and outrageous. Always wanting to help people out and wanting those people to like him in return. He is very knowledgeable and wishes to share his knowledge whenever possible.

A Very Brief Bio (Just a basic bio, not nearly as long as the one you used when applying for the

server): Rilom was a man at the young age of 23 when he decided to become a monk of the Wilven Sanctuary, giving up all of his worldly possessions to pursue the knowledge that he would receive from his life as a monk, and especially the feeling he would obtain from helping those that need it.

Who were the Celestial Triumvirate?: Lord Keldrith of the sun, Lady Rellenia of the Moon, and Lord Tariel of the Stars.

A Lost traveler come to the Sanctuary and asks, "Monk, where am I and how might I find my way?" How do you respond?: "Well sir, you happen to find yourself in the Wilven Sanctuary. What is it you are searching for, sir?" Rilom says with a friendly smile. "Well, monk, as ye can see I be a Dwarf. Can ye tell me t'e way t' the Dwarven city?" the stranger says with an exasperated sigh, sounding as if he has been asking this question one too many times. "Ah, well, Dwarves would find their city down the red path. I'll lead you there." Rilom tells him before walking towards the the path of the Dwarf. "Well, here you are, sir. I bid thee farewell and safe travels. I hope you find your journey an easy one."

A Screenshot of Your Monk's Skin (Robes must be one of the three colors and similar in base to with

    or without a beard): post-16733-0-59063700-1341098784_thumb.p

Anything else you'd like to say: Unsure if the skin is sufficient. If it is not, just let me know and I'd be happy to get a more correct representation.

What kind of events are most interested in? (Playing as a temporary faction, creature, Antagonist etc..)

I personally am interested in any event and any role so long as it creates good RP for the server. If I could choose any of those to role play as, I'd most like to role play as an antagonistic character.

What kinds of influential RP has your current LOTC character been involved in?

My character Rilath was heavily involved in the Undead vs. Ascended role play during the time of Aegis. He is actually one of the only people to have been a member of both factions. One thing Rilath has done that caused a chain reaction of events, was his marriage to the High Elf Shoi. At his wedding both Iblees and Aeriel appeared and fought for Rilath's soul. Afterwards, Sage Sue offered both Rilath and Shoi a position among the ascended, which eventually led to Shoi becoming preceptor.

What in your opinion, makes a good event?

An event needs to be planned out and organized so that you aren't just making things up as you go along. There has to be an easily understandable purpose and reason behind the event. One of the most important things a good event could do without, is too much scripting. If the entire event is scripted, that leaves almost all of the player base out of some potentially amazing role play that can be used to further develop their character. And finally, an event has to be fun. This may seem like an obvious answer to most, but truth be told, some events that have taken place have not been very fun in my personal opinion. The players enjoy being involved in events, so I think they should be allowed to join in and role play with the actors.

Let's say your playing as a wolf, wandering outside a village and you smell cake from within a bakery that seems unattended. Inside the bakery the cake sits on the counter. What do you do and how do you emote?

*looks around, making sure that nobody is nearby to see him enter the bakery.

*moves towards the door, pushing against it to see if it is open. Sadly it is not.

*walks around the building, looking for any and all entrances that he can go through.

*finds a window in the back after a moment or two of searching, and leaps inside, landing hard on the

    floor with a thud.

*scrambles to his feet, moving towards the counter that the cake is resting on.

*stands on his hind legs and places his front paws on the counter to stabilize himself as he inhales the wondrous aroma that is wafting from the cake.

*sticks out his tongue, lapping up some of the icing before taking a large bite out of the side of the cake.

That is what I would communicate through emotes. The reason I only talked about the wolf and not anything else happening, unlike most of the other applicants, is because to me, this sort of event is the kind to create role play for the members of the server. Therefore, I felt it was best to elaborate only what I would do, since it would be up to the players on how the situation turns out. I can write one describing any interactions that could take place if need be.

You're playing as a necromancer hiding out in a graveyard, in search of a relic. Two armor-less players enter the graveyard to revisit an old friend. What do you do to create an experience for them and how to you reveal yourself?

    "Where the nether is it.."

*mutters to himself, his voice smoky.

"I was told I'd find it here.. Back row.. Third grave from the left.. But it's not here!"

*sounds frantic as he continues to defile the graves, searching for something it seems, but what exactly?

Suddenly, two men can be heard in the distance, making conversation whilst travelling.

*hides behind one of the larger gravestones as their talking grows louder.

"Ah, here we are.." one of the men says solemnly. They both approach the gravestone that the necromancer is hiding behind.

    *silently curses to himself.

The two men bow their heads, saying silent prayers for their fallen comrade.

*slowly tries to sneak away from them, accidentally stepping on a fallen tree branch as he does.

The pair look up instantly, upon seeing his robes, they draw their swords.

"Show us your hands.. We don't want to hurt you.." says one of the men, his voice wavers as he speaks, seeming slightly afraid.

"Well, you caught me, so I suppose I should comply.."

*says, raising his hands as he talks.

*suddenly drops down, placing his palms on the floor. When he does, lifeless bodies begin to emerge from the graves he disturbed, moving towards the men with their swords raised.

The men realize that they have no chance against the necromancer and they surrender, the risen dead restraining them as their swords fall the the ground with a clang.

"Tell me where it is, and I'll spare you both."

*says as he nods towards the zombies.

    "If you don't tell me,"

*pauses, the zombies tightening their grip on the men,

"I'll let them have their way with you."

    *says with a chuckle.

The pair of men beg and plead for a long while to be spared, offering their service as a means of good faith.

"Well then, you might want to start digging."

*says, laughing darkly as he does so.

After a few moments, the only grave remaining is their friends. Naturally they refuse to desecrate his resting ground.

"Well, if you won't do it, then I will."

*says as the lifeless corpses restrain the two once more.

*The process is slow and arduous but after a few minutes, he finally unearths an intricately designed coffin.

    "Could this really be..?"

*mutters to himself as he opens the coffin, "It is! I've found it!"

*seems to overflow with excitement, reaching into the coffin and pulling out some sort of amulet that seems to glow dimly.

*As he observes it, the zombies seem to loosen their grip on the two men.

They take this as their opportunity to escape.

Quickly they knock them away, picking up their swords and defeating the slow moving creatures with ease. They hold their swords at the necromancer's throat

"Give me one good reason why I should spare your life.." one of them demands.

*struggles to come up with an answer, "I.. I.. Erm.. Because you are the good guys..?"

*says, hoping that humor will lighten his punishment.

"Wrong answer.." the men say together as they both swing for his neck.

*has been decapitated, causing his now lifeless hands to drop the amulet.

"What is this..?" one of them asks while picking it up off the ground.

"I've no idea.. But we should leave.. Perhaps we can find answers in a nearby town?"

And with that the two set off, eager to determine to meaning of the amulet.

You're playing as a drunken sailor. You have to tell players rumors of treasure but accidentally, how do you go about doing this?

"Har har! Another round on me!"

*bellows loudly, cheers echoing throughout the tavern as the bartender happily passes out another round of ale.

*falls to the ground, letting out a loud guffaw as he hits the floor.

*something falls out of his pocket as two burly men help him to his feet.

A man picks it up, looking it over.

"Is this some kind of map..?"

"What? Give it back to me!"

*shouts, reaching for the piece of parchment.

The man hands it back to the sailor who looks it over, checking to see if it is correct before stuffing it back inside his coat.

    "Erm.. What was that..?"

"It'sh nothin' lad. Jusht an ol' map I found."

*points to different places on the map, one of them is crossed out,

"Jusht came back from 'ere actually. I'm goin' to visit each island~"

    *says in a sing-songy voice.

"Wait, you just got back? Why did you go? Did you find anything there that's valuable?"

*answers in a frantic voice, "Wha'? You t'ink I found treasure or shomethin'? No.. I uh.. My grandfather died and erm.. Left me this large inheritance! Yesh.. That shounds good!"

*says as he stumbles out of the tavern. Before leaving he pauses, looking back at everyone.

"Don't ye even try to follo' meh. I'm jusht goin' fer a walk.. Yeah.."

*belches and walks away after that last remark

Create a small paragraph describing a quirky character that could provide roleplay for players.

A hardened war veteran with too many scars to count. He's killed countless people and hasn't lost a single night's sleep over it. What is different about this man, is that his true dream is to be a ballroom dancer. From time to time he can be seen wearing his formal attire and dancing with his shadow near the cloud temple, or anywhere really. His greatest wish is that his dancing will be loved by so many, that the people of Asulon will ask him to open a dancing academy, so he can leave the life of the warrior and teach the fine art of dance to people all over the world.

  4. Ummm as for the High Elves, they are being removed because players simply don't like them. For some reason the vast player base see them as WRONG (god forbid elves act like elves!) and want them removed and will push their RP in such ways to remove them. The constant raids and warclaims on them is evidence of that.

I'm sorry Blundermore, but that arguement holds little weight. When you put in a villain application, you knew first hand that you were giving up regular RP and such to make sacrifices for everyone else. There's no way you didn't realize that playing Undead was going to be a permanent thing.

Cataris made a good point. After a while, people just ignored the undead. This was before the GMs had to take drastic actions. They had to force the player base to fear them by destroying Oren and Alras with godmodded events.

That didn't spark the 'great RP experience' that they thought it would. We simply ignored it in Laurelin. Basically saying, "why bother? If they are going to destroy us, it will happen, oh well... if not great." It loses the suspense when you have no control or effect on the situation.

And without god mode, how could they (undead or great evil) possibly threaten the nations? They'd need the best RPers and players to play them right? They are not going to get all of them since players are already established and wouldn't want to move. So their numbers will be very few. One warclaim that involves multiple nations ends the threat.

Have to figure out where they are coming from? That will be figured out in about a day from random explorers. Word spreads fast in LotC. Even when its not meta'gamed. 5 days later, a warclaim happens and poofs them. Yay we all go back home and go back to fighting each other again.

The only way this could work is if its more subtle and they get their hands around certain positions. And this doesn't need to be a GM sponsored group to do this. I've said that before, and no one wanted to take up my challenge on that.

No one in the playerbase has the stones to make an organization that could be ran by the players instead of undead/bloodmages. I've given that challenge before, no one accepted it. Well the gauntlet is thrown yet again. If the players can't take the challenge then the idea of a great evil shouldn't be done, since you just won't have the playerbase to fill it. The fact that the players are unwilling to even try should be a red flag.

Well prove me wrong players, lets see what you got?

Well I personally have wanted to start something like this and I've even tried writing down some lore and ideas on my own. The thing is, the players that are willing and capable of doing this are sometimes barred by limitations set in place, such as VA's.

I myself am known as probably one of the worst app writers ever. Unless I spend a week on an app, it won't get accepted or even taken seriously. Despite my reputation with villainous RP, there is nothing I can do about getting around the VA because it's set in stone.

I'm sure that nobody wants to spend time writing up a VA for a character they haven't even played yet. Or if they are using their current character, perhaps they don't want them to become evil? This is honestly the only barrier I have to forming such a group. I simply do not have the patience to complete one of these time consuming applications, only to have it most likely be denied. Does that make me selfish? Probably, yes. But it's a fact that isn't going to change.

  5. Personally I'd like to see them return, but with different circumstances. At first, let only GM's and server veterans be members at first, like it was when Charlie4vb and MrZombez ran the undead. Only trusted members of the community would be allowed to join both undead and ascended. Also, make the confrontations more RP. Don't have a few people in the undead just /shout a few lines and then have the entire force rain lightning from the heavens. That's not fun for anyone but them. Other than these few things that need improving, I think they did a great job to the RP of the server and they were the reason I stayed for so long.

  6. ((

    RP name:

    MC name: ShadowGunX

Why do you want to be on the attacking side? To provide fun and exciting roleplay for the opposing side.

What RP would you bring to this war claim (I'm not looking for PVP skills... I'm looking for RP.) I've been on this server for almost a year now, and I've had nothing but good remarks for my RP as far as I can remember, though I might be wrong.

Do you agree that your character is a one off and can't be used after the battle? I do agree to this, unless I am asked to keep him of course.

Do you agree to provide good role play to all who take part on the opposite side? How are you going to do such? I agree to this as well and I will do it any way I possibly can.

Do you agree that if you commit an act that is outside of the rules in any way whatsoever that we are not liable for you? (Though in wars certain actions are relaxed, but you are still governed by OOC rules and a few RP rules) Absolutely, though I don't foresee myself doing anything against the rules.

Do you agree to follow orders and not go off to do your own thing (which wouldn't make much RP sense)I agree to this as well. The dread knights wouldn't be able to do much on their own anyway if anything.

  7. Saeldur sighs as he send a letter to all of the other High Mages

Until we can obtain a straight answer, I ask the Mages Guild to refrain from entering Skravia. If you enter, we will not be held responsible for whatever trouble you may find yourself in.

  8. Saeldur arrived at the tower moments after Ambros, seeming slightly winded

"Ambros I have arrived. What is it you need from me?"

"I need you to meet me in the Arcanum, Saeldur."

Ambros walks downstairs through the tower, flipping a switch and walking through the secret door it opened. He motions Saeldur to follow. When they arrive in the Arcanum, Ambros reveals an Ender Eye.

"This is what we will store the energy from the node in. I assume it will work."

    "Let's hope it does.."

Ambros holds the Ender Eye over the hole to the void, when he lets go of it, it hovers there and he and Saeldur wait patiently for a few moments. The tower creaks and groans around them as they wait. All of a sudden, out of nowhere a man with a golden mask steps into the room. Saeldur is Bewildered but Ambros seems to know the man. Saeldur keeps his focus on the Eye as they argue for a few moments. All of a sudden, the stranger drops down to all fours and slowly walks towards Saeldur. Ambros chuckles as he raises his staff in the air, it starts to glow a bright blue as he slices through the air with a downward motion, sending a ball of bright blue energy hurtling towards the man. The ball barely misses a critical blow, hitting him in the legs and knocking him to the floor.

    "That's a new one.."

"All of our previous encounters have been childish games. Now it is time to show you my true power.."

Saeldur watches in amazement, seeing Ambros do things he's never seen. All of a sudden, the strange man summons a swirling sphere of black energy above his hand, throwing it at Ambros.

    "Shade Magic! B.. But how!"

"Hehe.. Here's a gift from Rilath.."

Two shadowy appendages emerge from his body, whipping around near his back. He screams, sending them at Saeldur. He ducks instinctively, barely missing the attack as it sails by him. He hears a muffled groan and turns to see Ambros bleeding, a hole in his chest.

    "Saeldur.. You.. Killed me.."

"No.. I didn't.. It was that man.."

Turns to see the man lying lifeless on the floor behind him, he doesn't know why just yet.

"You avoided Regaki's attack.. Therefore.. It hit me.. The law of the guild.. States that if you are in the guild.. And you kill a High Mage.. You become a High Mage yourself.. Saeldur.. You will take my place.. I must let you know.. You cannot resign from this position.. You will lead the council for the rest of your life.. Now, Regaki will lead you out of here.. Now go.."

Ambros slowly fades into nothingness as Saeldur stands and walks towards the now alive Regaki.

    "Follow me Master."

Regaki leads Saeldur out of the now crumbling tower, going back in to retrieve some of the books that were still in the Arcanum.

    "What now, Master?"

"Now.. We must inform the council what has happened.."
