  1. *Mikael accepts the letter from the Sarients almost gleefully, though trying his best not to show it. Opening it up, he scours the contents, before pulling out a crude piece of shaped charcoal and neatly filling out the application* Name (MC and RP): Mikael EisenAugen ((patthebakr)) Race: Human Desired Position (If any): Matters on what positions are available, preferably something involving engineering. Preferred Weapon (If any): Sword Non-Combat Skills (If any): Decent farmer, somewhat good with mechanical works, can work iron at a forge, Previous Work (Past groups or jobs): Study under several farmers, interested in engineering and mechanics. Your most valued trait from list below: Honor Loyalty Strength Intelligence Chivalry Justice Have you interacted with the Order before? Explain if yes: I "lived in Hanseti for a few years as a child, sometimes I'd see the Sarients doing their daily tasks. Have you visited Hanseti before? Explain if yes: Few years back a man had brought me to Hanseti from Solace, during one of the riots. Name of Garret, he tutored me in several aspects of farming when I was young, gave me the money for a temporary passport as well. I stayed for a few years before setting out to make my own life. Are you willing to take an oath?: Of course I'm willing. One doesn't simply join an order without following traditions. Moral boundaries (What you will not do): Killing of the defenseless ((this is somewhat... "flexible")), thievery of the poor, Deception of the people ((again, flexible)). Doesn't really count as a moral boundary, but I HATE politics. Do you have a VA?: ((might get one, depends on future character development.)) Additional information: After leaving Hanseti, I made a few minas here and there doing odd jobs in Ascella before heading to the wilds. I stayed in the wilds most of my life, and had quite a bit of free time on my hands. I gained some experience with weapons fending for my house, but defeating monsters is different than defeating people. I tinkered with stop watches, compasses, and several other small, gear powered gadgets a lot, though I wish for a formal education in such things. One thing Garret did give to me before I left was a small sack of books. I guess those served as my entertainment. I fended for myself a lot, mostly through farming and repairs. Only recently have I returned to the mainland, though I will be off again, due to the plague. From what I can see, the lands could do with a little more "cleansing" * After finishing, Mikael reseals the letter, along with a map with co-ordinates of a rather random area out in the wilds ((for RP reasons for re-contact. Don't actually have co-ords)). He heads to the gates of the Maw, of which he remembers from long ago.*
  2. What your wiki name will be (case sensitive): Patthebakr (same as forum name) Why are you trustworthy?: I have been enjoying LotC since last July. Although I'm not too well known, I have a great time on the server. The wiki has been a useful, albeit sometimes incomplete and incorrect, source for me to use. I would like to extend my hand to those newcomers, as I know their confusion/frustration in asking everyone around about recent and ancient events. While I may not be part of any group: application, villain app, forum moderator, or even VIP, I like to think I am still trustworthy. As for my entire experience on this server, I have never gotten a strike or ban report, so that must count for something.
  3. ((Don't want to burst your bubble, but the college has been dead for months. RHcrow doesn't have time to get on anymore))
  4. * As his curiosity grew, Garret decided to examine the note left on his doorstep, reading the letter withholding his emotions until thy burst out, as always.* "I don't know what to tink anymore. Whenever I'd visit ot'er nations, tey all seemed quite straightforward in tere actions against Salvus, but after te death o' Dawn, te clean-up o' te Ordinators, what else does Salvus possibly threaten us wit? Nether, tat recent riot was just a show of who was really on te immoral side. Te rebels used te stand fer sometin, sometin more tan violence and "revolution". Now tey're no worse tan te Ordinators. I expect tere te be some wit honor still among 'em, but after ye burn down an inn and force a military force into tey're compound, what do ye expect b'sides death? Te Ordinators 'ad every right te defend 'emselves, and I'm sure Lorethos would agree wit me. Gods, tey even spared tose witout armor and weapons! Te rebels 'ave gotten outta control, tey want war, not justice. If ye jest want death to tose in power, what makes ye different tan a simple bandit, lookin fer te next kill? Gods, tere be no rest fer te wicked, no where, no how."
  5. * Yet another note is pinned to the ever growing notice board, this one seems to be more full than the others, though. * As many have noticed, friends, family, and neighbors have disappeared from Hanseti or have fallen the years after the war with Renatus. We encourage you to share the ones you have lost below, to fully complete the mourning they rightfully deserve. Viadar Horus Malen Bawapy Elividia Kain Luna Bergethor Syblix *there are many more bullets on the list, urging people to post those they have lost*
  6. ((I also urge you to check out the other two rather violent and malicious war claims. It seems that there may have been a miscommunication on Seventis' part, which isn't an insult. It happens to the best of us =) http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/50470-the-forced-famine/ http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/50467-the-eviction-notice/))
  7. ((Exactly, it's just your war claims seem to state the opposite, that Seventis is grabbing as much land as it can.))
  8. ((I think it would be a better idea to state these war claims you're making as less of a hostile takeover. Not everybody knows these places are ghost towns, and some may see Seventis as a greedy, corrupt empire due to the bluntness of your reasoning. It seems a little ironic for you to go to war with Salvus for their greed and corruption, only to immediatley attack those around you for the land they claim? I get that it's imperialism, but is there no way to RP this as Seventis saving the towns from failing governments? Maybe I'm wrong, and you're making these seem violent for a reason, whatever it may be, this is just my two cents.)
  9. A few friends and I have been working on a rather large ruin expedition, it's still in the works, and months away, but most of the things you state will be a part of the adventure, along with many other factors. There are also many, MANY ruins that are like what you state, just go out and look for them. They are around, they've all just been completed and looted.
  10. * A long, but mostly blank, list is pinned on the notice board in Hanseti City. * The last few years we have seen many familiar faces leave the city. All that you need to do is write your name below. The census will help to find unoccupied houses, and will also help in new building affairs.
  11. * a list of rules is pinned to the notice board outside the farms* General rules: Don't grow anything without a permit for said crop. Pricing is below.((We need this due to our farms being tax free.)) Don't, leave your plot unattended for long periods of time ((I.E. If you are gone for a few weeks, I'll think you either quit LOTC or found a new place to farm)). If you will be on leave for a while, tell me, so your plot is not put back up for sale. A sign outside your plot or a letter on the notice board ((forum pm)) will suffice. Don't enter the barn without permission ((this is willing to change if 1.3 fixes the buggy mob predictions, atm its impossible to keep a steady supply of animals in there)) All farmers who have paid off their plot will receive access to the farm shed. This is a sort of community pot, seeds and fertilizer will be added every once in a while. Give what you take and be reasonable in how you use it. If you wish for your crops to be harvested if they are ripe, tell the GroßSpilter so he can do so. A chest will be put in your plot where the harvested crops will go. If you want, a spot can be arranged for you in the granary. Crops put in their will be bought by the GroßSpilter at a lower than average price. This is a good place to make a quick mina, as selling in bulk is ought to be. ((Pricing is below)) List is actively expanded as new issues pop up. Pricing information: Our farms sell for 25 minas per wheat plant ((block)), plus charges for the materials used in making the plot (torches, fences, etc.). Plus you're getting the security that comes with property ownership in Hanseti. The rising amount of wheat in mortgages is due to advanced farmers knowing their way around, and getting more wheat from their plants. If you decide to mortgage, after three weeks it should be finished. Acres ((9x9)) are 2,500 minas mortgaging values for a single acre Gardener ((lvls 0-19 in farming)) Have to give 27 bales of wheat (1 small chest) to fulfill a single 9x9 plot mortgage. Novice Farmer ((lvls 20-49)) Have to give 40 bales of wheat (1 and 1/2 chests) to fulfill a single 9x9 plot mortgage. Skilled Farmer ((lvls 50-79 in farming)) Have to give 54 bales of wheat (1 large chest) to fulfill a single 9x9 plot mortgage. Expert Farmer ((lvls 80-100 in farming)) Have to give 108 bales of wheat (2 large chests) to fulfill a single 9x9 plot mortgage. Farmsteads ((9x22)) are for more prolific farmers, and an example is the Mauviette farmstead near the back of the farms. ((pricing and mortgaging TBA)) Plantations ((22x22)) are yet to be introduced, and may not be if there isn't a demand for them. ((pricing and mortgaging TBA)) Permits ((these are for having products besides wheat in your farm)): Wheat: Free Animal: 50 minas Melon/Pumpkin: 100 minas Reed: 250 minas Access to public farms: 250 minas Access to barn (only for those that have shown their aptitude and competence in farming): 250 minas Granary Sales ((I will send a screenshot with the transaction, prices may change due to inflation)) Wheat: 25 minas a bundle ((stack)) Melons: 70 minas a crate ((stack)) Pumpkins: Not buying at the moment Reeds: Not buying at the moment Pork (raw): 75 minas a crate ((stack)) Beef (raw): 100 minas a crate ((stack)) Fish (raw): 150 minas a net ((stack)) Chicken (raw): 120 minas a crate ((stack))
  12. *Outside of the old Hansetian mine lays a small notice board* ATTENTION: DUE TO HAZARDOUS WORKING CONDITIONS THESE MINES HAVE BEEN CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC, FOR THOSE WITH PERMITS, SEEK OUT THE NEW MINES THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED IN TIMBERMAW. As for the materials in this mine, most have been relocated to a safer location in the Storehouse. If your goods seem to be missing, check there. We also need to deal with the mine itself. Some ideas I have come up with: Close it up for good, after all the chests and materials are removed. Block it off, but keep a small, protected doorway in the entrance to allow for an emergency bunker. Keep everything as is, just put a notice outside. Remove all valuables. Stone bricks, torches, for use in the new mine, block off to prevent demons from escaping. Keep it open as a private mine, for the further construction and renovation of the city. Just don't sell public permits to it anymore. I encourage others to present their own solutions for these mines, as some people still use them for gathering of resources. ((The dangers do exist, also. Due to the mine creating openings into assorted caverns, Monsters and lava flows have become a problem, the risk/gain meter doesn't seem to good anymore. Not to even mention how ridiculously depleted the entire thing is.))
