  1. No, I've never heard about them being official, but a lot of the red you see in Sanjezal now i just liked to add to structures b/c it went well with sandstone. As far as i know, Mogroka likes the red and orange wools because of what the colors represent (blood (red) and monsters (orange?)) Just make what you want and throw it up, would like to see them!
  2. Well I hope you take some time to do some research, it seems a bit silly to have someone in charge of a unit if they don't understand what that unit does or is. Anyways, the sole purpose of a scout is reconnaissance. You go out ahead of the main force and essentially look for the enemy, and report back on their numbers/location/patrol patterns/etc. You are not a combat unit per-say, though you should be versed in some fighting techniques. If your members were to be used in a combat capacity, you would fall into a long-range support role, with a bow. For example: if you send a few scouts out to scope out an area, and they come across a bandit camp, they would stay back, out of sight, take observation and report back to a high ranking official in the main forces. A scout needs to know the wilderness, possess solid tracking abilities, have the know-how in order to live off the land, solid observation skills, stealth is also extremely important. The point is not to be seen, so if you run into an enemy group and are discovered, you've already failed. A wolf companion would not be recommended, as it would probably just make it that much easier to spot you, but if you really wanted have wolves, then they should only be used in combat.
  3. Hut design, bear with me as it has no sandstone what-so-ever:
  4. Haha, I dont think we would have to worry about being a "pretty" race, or people wanting to play orcs just to be pretty and sexy, unless of course we just decided that Orcs are green-skinned elves or humans, but I don't see that ever happening, so not much to worry about there!
  5. Honestly, I don't really see any problem with it, and if anything it could create just as much tension as any of the other ideas posted thus far could. Your standard Orc could berate them or look down upon them for their emphasis on agility over brute strength, and their generally thinner physiques, much like they do with goblins.
  6. Yes, I fully understand what you were trying to get across, and I love the idea, but what I was saying was merely just what I feel that concept would evolve into over time. I mean, hey, I could be completely and utterly wrong, but it is just an opinion based on my observations of the average Minecraft player. If it can be kept to what you have in mind, then that would be fantastic and I would completely support it.
  7. Could you define what you mean by "pretty" orcs? Are you referring to their look, or their architecture?
  8. One idea I'm interested in, would be setting up a city inside of a giant crevice in the earth/ravine, or crater in the ground. Orcs (or trolls) would certainly have the strength to do so, and would perhaps fit better with their abilities, unless being driven by goblin made blueprints. This would include features such as dwellings dug into the cliff-face, wooden walkways and bridges spanning the ravine, and perhaps a market lining the bottom or mouth of the ravine and innovations driven by goblin technology. If it were to be a crater, then you could have dwellings lining the cliff face all around the crater, market districts in the bottom, and a large fortress/palace in the center. Perhaps this could be situated in a swamp biome, where you could have the filthy water pouring down into the ravine from multiple points to create a lake/river of sorts in the bottom of the ravine. On the flip side however, I feel like many would be against such an idea, as it doesn't allow you to show off any mega structures or unique buildings as easily as a surface town would, not that there should be many of these anyways. In my opinion Orc towns should be more minimalistic/simple in concept with odd technologies scattered about driven by goblin ingenuity. Opinions or thoughts?
  9. Never really got into WoW so I can't really comment on that, but I imagine it's going to take a whole lot of creativity to get away from anything that isn't seemingly a combination of characteristics/traits from 40k/WoW/LotR/etc. Which is one thing I like about the tundra orc idea, it seems to get away from that (as far as i'm aware lol)
  10. I love the element of surprise, especially in warfare. Perhaps some of their elements and traits could be altered a bit though, so that players aren't required to have a villain app in order to play one.
  11. Sorry, i should've been more clear, but I am in agreement with you and is what i meant about centralizing things. I would just rather have one hub for the Orcs, rather than being spread out like we are now. I believe people are currently in talks about having a capital and a merchant city in the new map, but i just feel more and more that one of these would just become a ghost town, unless we can get a large influx of Orcs between now and then.
  12. Of course not :P And one of the main reasons I bring this up is that I would like to see things be more centralized, to make for a more enjoyable RP experience. I mean, I'm sure people would like to actually have a town that's being inhabited by citizens and being used, rather then having things spread across 3 or 4 cities, and then each of those cities is just a straight-up ghost town with plug-in shops. How many people do you ever hear about/see in Gorkil, Sanjezal (bad example) or the nomad village? The only place you can see people is in Sanhar, and outside of the gate of Sanhar, and even then you dont really see many people around. I think this probably needs to be in the future of the orcs thread instead, lol
  13. Please don't get worked up about this, he didn't say any names directly. It is just his opinion, no use getting worked up over it. When you look at people getting banned or breaking rules, and you then look to their apps or profiles, it seems to be a common trend, that is all. You yourself are saying many young people may obviously be more immature, and that's not to say there aren't older applicants/members that aren't immature. No one is judging based on age, just their actions, which is justifiable, IMO.
  14. It really is unfortunate, but that would probably have to be the case, or find some other way to bring them into Krugmar lore-wise (unless the orc's biome just radically changes with the new move). If Minecraft was a larger game and we could realistically have 1000 ppl playing at any given time, then this wouldn't really be an issue, but with 250 players, and barely any of those 250 playing as Orcs, it would just be too much to be that spread out. I would argue that we are perhaps too spread out as it is currently in 1.8 . Sorry for being so pessimistic :(
  15. My issue with tundra orcs is how would you work out their territory? I mean if we are going to be in the desert/swamp or that border area, are we supposed to have a snowy/mountainous region right next to that? Or would they have their own city far from the capital in a snowy environment? Honestly, in my opinion, the more large cities we have the worse/more difficult the rp is probably going to get when you have everyone spread so far out. Its not like we have such a large population that every city is bustling with activity or citizens at every moment. Currently we have a couple of cities/forts/areas, but you only see people in Sanhar really, or those of us building in Sanjezal. Actually, I rarely see people in Sanhar as it is, unless they are running to their homes to store something. Edit: Furthermore, how would their architecture/beliefs work out with the playerbase? I have a hard time believing players are going to be alright with the minimalist approach and go along with it as a theme, and not having any sort of large housing for themselves or grand design for their city. I'm all for it and think it is a cool idea, just have a hard time believing that would come to fruition, and instead seeing it just turn into an arctic version of a grand city
  16. I am quite fond of this plan, and would agree with many of the aspects contained there within. I for one believe the Nomad subrace needs to be changed or redone. Correct me if I am wrong here, but there is one nomad village i'm aware of and i've never seen a single person in that village, using it, or any of the buildings owned by anyone. Having trolls would keep many of their aspects, but would make their play style more accessible and playable for many people. +1
  17. all very nice! need to get some more art from the others though!
  18. OOC: I'm sorry to hear that you'll be leaving us Uggg. Though Gobrot has never met Uggg, he has heard many good things, and it is unfortunate to lose you. I do have to agree with you on some points though, and I have begun to grow increasingly vexed with some of the same issues as well, granted I haven't been around as long as you have. Many of the newer players do seem to be drawn to Orcs thinking they can rob or kill what they want, or i have seen others that just plain dont rp as an Orc, breaking almost every Orc rule posted around the city. Hopefully this will change soon. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck in your ventures, and hope you're able to find a more enjoyable situation for yourself.
  19. Aye, no problem boss, jus' now 'earin bout da move away from sandstone.
  20. Probably for a couple of obvious reasons: 1) You didn't provide an answer for what you know about role playing, how long you've been rping, and what kind of rping you did/do. Your response: "-What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: i helped building a server that used roleplaying and i liked it" 2) Your biography is much too short, and contains elements of power-gaming. 3) It would appear that you didn't even read the lore. 4) You need to upload a screenshot of your skin to a service like tinypic or imageshack and provide the link to it, rather than providing a file.
  21. Well with the security measures the new arena has, hopefully it will help smooth the process out and make sure the tournament goes without a hitch!
  22. OOC: Wait, is this all being moved back to this thread or are we supposed to continue posting ideas in the stickied thread? By the way, add arena to the finished list
  23. That's why you just need to get on the goblin's good side, we're good at avoiding Orc rage :D
  24. If i remember correctly, I think they are supposed to be around 5'. I like to picture him as a chubby little goblin with his worn-out tunic draped over his head. I really want to get my hands on one of those tablets you can use to draw with directly on your computer :(
  25. Got bored and decided to do a quick sketch of Waafang, on a newspaper of all places! I don't have any sort of animation software and what not on this computer, sorry for the crappy quality. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
