  1. @Yahgy Here are some designs for the courtyard luxury homes. There is a home missing in the pictures, and i left it out to be able to show off the courtyard better. Each home will have an outside entrance, and all 4 houses will share a private courtyard that is walled off in the corners, as you can see from where the wood walls are. Each home is 2 stories. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Any and all feedback, opinions, and criticism is welcomed!
  2. Basically the layout. Like I had pointed out earlier, you often hit the Enter button and cut off lines mid-sentence. For example: [but i couldnt find mine dad anywhere. he was probably slaughterd and converted in one of Iblees's minions. After that event i travelled to the dwarven kingdoms. To master the art of blacksmithing. when i was done i travelled alot. i dindt know where to go. or what to do.. i was all alone. no mother, no father. so i went to a nearby little village. nobody was armed there so i thougt : Well I am a blacksmith, Why shouldnt I stay here for a while? after a couples of years I was Fully skilled in blacksmithing and leaved the town again. Now the adventure of Murgaw Bloodshredder began. As he wondered off in the great lands of Aegis!] should be something like this: [-Biography: I couldn't find my dad anywhere, perhaps he was slain in battle and converted in one of Iblees's minions? Following the battle, I traveled to the Dwarven Kingdom in order to train as a blacksmith. After months of grueling training, I began to develop a solid grasp on what it meant to be a blacksmith. Following the completion of my training, I didn't know where to go or what to do, so I decided to travel. I was all alone with no mother, nor father, so I went to a nearby village. Nobody was armed there, so I thought to myself: "Well I am a blacksmith, why shouldn't I stay here for a while?" After a couple of years, I was full-fledged Blacksmith and decided there was nothing left for me here, so I decided to leave the town. Now the adventure of Murgaw Bloodshredder begins! ] Notice the difference?
  3. Just a heads up, your formatting is still awkward, and you should probably remove that quip at brett, especially as he never said anything about you not linking to lore. Look at the sample application that is stickied to get an idea of what they are looking for.
  4. Read the header of his post; it is a list of common reasons that people are denied, and he underlined the ones that specifically applied to your application. Furthermore, insulting a GM wont really help your case, just FYI. As far as format goes, you tend to hit the Enter/return button frequently, quite often in the middle of a sentence, which makes it awkward to read. Just stick to full paragraphs, unless you are using dialogue in your biography, which in that case it is proper to start on a new line.
  5. OOC: So, I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but I thought I would ask anyways. Is it possible to have a pig-spawner placed? I know there has been lots of requests for a butcher's shop, and had an idea of a design for one. It would have a storefront, and inside there would be a small, fenced-off area where you could shuffle pigs in from a pen in the back (granted we would be allowed to place a spawner there. In the fenced off area in the shop would be a few piston driven butchering stalls (forget who requested something like that). And of course the rest of the shop/pen would be fancied up. If anyone knows for sure whether this would fly or not, I would appreciate your timely response. Thanks!
  6. Here I would like to submit an idea for an Arena/Barracks. This is all still very early and crude, but I'd like some feedback. This will require you to open up the world save included in this post. Uploaded with ImageShack.us In the middle is a circular arena, with two sides for contestants to enter. You'll notice there are gates, which will be controlled with one lever. The side gate, is actually a minor jail. The hut next to it can be opened with one lever, where the offender will be shuffled in, and once the doors are shut, another lever can be pulled to drop said offender into the cell (from whence they can leave via ladder once the lever is flipped again (unsure if this will fly but oh well). On one side of the arena is a Barracks type building set up in a half-moon design, very crudely made but gives you a general idea. Included is a link to the world save. In this world is the arena, and the giant banner, which is nearby if you care to look at it. http://www.mediafire.com/?dk9mu9g3cycvfkc
  7. OOC: I 100% agree with the idea of making Shaman as a sub-class rather than a sub-race. Shamans are supposed to be religious leaders, thus something that should be obtained through hard work. I like the idea of trolls, though the name makes me worry about what the future of the Orcs would be like, but i guess that is what applications are for. It really is a shame that there is no way to vary the size of your avatar, since it would make it much easier to have the lore fit with the actual avatars. IMO Shamans should have to apply with the Rex to be his chosen leaders, and this could be done with a trial (applications?). Though this may present some problems, I feel like it would be more appropriate to have the Rex choose who he wants as his Shamans, rather than it being a subrace/class anyone could be.
  8. It is supposed to be the monsters spinal cord coming down around the post, they dont function as stairs, but strategic ladder placement could certainly make them climable
  9. OOC: The wiki gives a fair description of what a standard orc looks like, including a description of traits specific to each sub-race: "Orcs are usually brown skinned with green tints, varying from sandy to dark green and rarely black, and their hair is usually very dark, with brown and black the most common. Most orcs follow the practice of coloring their hair with the blood of their enemies. Because their hair is so dark, this coloring rarely shows until after many dousings, and it is considered a sign of a great warrior for an orc's hair to glow red with the blood of his enemies. Orcs of the Shaman bloodline tend more toward green skin and black hair, usually distinguished from other Orcs by their lean, sinewy frames. Nomadic Orcs are of the most common bloodline, and vary from sandy to brown-grey in color, with hair almost exclusively dark brown. Their size and musculature set them apart from all other races of Aegis, sometimes considered giants at two and a half meters (eight feet). Orcs of the goblin bloodline are most notably smaller than other Orcs, usually only reaching a meter and a half (five feet). Goblins are the most likely of all orcs to have black skin and fairer hair. Orc eyes are usually brown or black, with a rare few blessed with blood-red." I'd have to agree with you though, when i think orc, i tend to think something more along the lines of warhammer/40k Orks. It is possible that the new Orcs you are running across are of the Shaman bloodline, which would make sense for being lean, or Goblins, who are small in stature. The wiki doesn't really provide much of a description for facial features though, but it seems that tusks are common.
  10. tried to use the recommendations : By baisha88 at 2011-09-23 By baisha88 at 2011-09-23 By baisha88 at 2011-09-23 Seeing as the entire skull is made of wood, i wasn't able to put fire in the eyes without risking the entire thing burning haha
  11. Yea the entire post is made out of dark wood and has iron bands around every 8 blocks, and at the top there is a giant iron socket and two large iron rings on the horizontal piece, which are covered by the skull now. Hopefully they would allow it and get a good way to work it in. Thing can be seen from really far off and would be cool to have one looming above the orc's capital, imo.
  12. I agree with you, and originally there were nose-holes, but the only problem is the thing is so big that i hit the upper ceiling before i could get above where the holes originally were so i had to change it up and turn them into eye sockets instead. You really have to see it in-game to get an idea of how big it is lol As far as materials, I think stone would probably work; the only problem with sandstone is that the majority of the city is made of sandstone (or will be i am assuming) so it might be nice to have something that contrasts with that.
  13. given the space, this is the most scorpion-ish thing i can think of By baisha88 at 2011-09-22 By baisha88 at 2011-09-22
  14. If i expanded the white area it probably could, though it would be difficult to make a scorpian
  15. Just an example of where a symbol would go, if someone gives me one. i just put that there because i saw a statue that looked like that around one of towns
  16. talking about something like this? Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  17. Hopefully this is a bit better. Was thinking the chosen symbol could go in that white part. Hopefully the monster skull would be approved, its pretty nifty. The inside of the skull is its own room, and if you wanted to, the spine could be made as a sort of ladder up to it. By baisha88 at 2011-09-22 By baisha88 at 2011-09-22 By baisha88 at 2011-09-22
  18. Any ideas on colors? i just did checkered red and white as a kind of go-to default, btw, i edited my last post with updated pics, full skull now up there ^
  19. Interested in the idea, although not much to work with at the moment, i'm just playing around with stuff. just my own thoughts/ideas: Would really have to find someone better at making faces/skulls, but I thought it would be kinda of a cool idea to have the remains of a giant monster draped over a banner? Obviously my work on the face sucks, but here is a quickly made skull over the top with its spine spiraling around the pole? By baisha88 at 2011-09-22 By baisha88 at 2011-09-22
  20. Sorry, wasn't meant to be a finished product by any means, just put up an image to see if something of that size/shape was what was being pursued, or to go another direction? Just messing around with it.
  21. OOC: On how large of a scale are we talking about here? Like a gigantic war banner/flag to be flown above the city/seen from far off? And are there any specifics it *must* have or is it open to the artist's imagination? Just a start, hard to make symbols w/o a massive flag By baisha88 at 2011-09-22 By baisha88 at 2011-09-22
  22. OOC: What all is needed/most needed at the moment? My character is a fairly new Goblin, so I would just like to get an idea of where I could be most useful (obviously not going for any high-lvl combat role seeing as my char is a Goblin). Any trade skills, building, and/or engineering (redstone and the likes) are all things I feel that I'm familiar with and skilled at, so I could serve in whatever capacity is needed.
  23. Oi, Waafang Gobrot 'ere, sign me up for da sewers project, more 'den happy to help
  24. -Minecraft Account Name:Baisha88 -How old are you?:24 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence:Central/USA -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:Yes -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a recent college graduate in-between jobs at the moment, who enjoys playing Minecraft is his spare time. I've lived abroad the last few years and speak fluent mandarin. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Anywhere between 5 hours, up to 25+. -How long have you played minecraft?: A little longer than a year, roughly. -What do you know about roleplaying?: When role playing, you are taking on a different identity where your outside knowledge doesn't and shouldn't apply (for the most part). You are your character, not Bob from Chicago. Your character has its own unique back story and personality. You imagine yourself as your character and interact with those around you to bring the world to life and flesh it out. -What do you expect this server will be like?: A fun, interesting, and challenging environment with a rich RP experience. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have mainly played in SP or random servers, this is the first one that I've actually been interested in enough to apply for admission. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:Yes -Name the 4 races on this server: Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, and Elves (Ascended and Undead as well). -How did you hear about us?: I came across the server on Planet Minecraft -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: baisha88 In-Character -Character Name: Waafang Gobrot -What is your Race?: Orc -Biography: Standing before you is an Orc with a rather large build, covered in scars, but with a rather calm look in his eyes. Originally, he was a member of the Dom clan, but lost his way following their defeat. Rather than immediately assimilating to the Rex clan, he began to wander. For most of his life, Waafang has been more adopted to a nomadic lifestyle, though not originally from one of the nomadic tribes. He developed a preference for staying on the move with allies and those that he can trust. This has led him to be more open to dealings with other races than your average Orc. He has always had a keen interest in hunting, which naturally led to a move into a mercenary role at a young age working for those with the most interesting offer, whether that be money or not. Like most Orcs, he is rather strong and not phased by physical tasks, but takes a more calculated approach when making his move, rather than relying purely on brute strength. Waafang has began to grow tired of his way of life, and is looking for his next big undertaking. He has began to show a keen interest in mining and looks to find the perfect spot for a new pit. -Character Age: Unknown. Waafang himself has lost count after so many years on the move, nor does he care to remember. -Character Appearance: Like most Orcs, he is large in size, and his body worn from fighting. He wears tattered armor and leather, and his tribe's colors on his shoulders. It is not uncommon to see him carrying a variety of instruments or weapons that he has acquired from his travels. When someone comes across his path, their sight is usually drawn first to his lower jaw, which is made of various bits of scrap metal. -Character Personality: Waafang is curious in nature, and certainly more approachable than your average Orc. Though he is known for having a fiery temper when angered, many are surprised by his level-headedness. Because of his once nomadic lifestyle, he is very keen to what is going on around him and has had more than your average exposure to other races. He is greedy to a certain extent, and has great interest for expensive and important items, or generally just anything that gleams in the light. -Your ambitions: As he looks for somewhere to settle, he is very interested in becoming a pit boss in his own mining operation. -Can your character read or write?: To a certain extent, though it is certainly not his strong-suit. -Can your character mine?: He is naturally strong, making him very capable of mining, or any physical tasks. Furthermore, he takes a great interest in anything shiny. -Are you a capable builder?: During his years on the road, he picked up a few tricks from a Dwarf whom he had a mutual respect for. Though not on par with any renowned architects, he knows how to get a job done, and is more than capable of working construction. -Can you wield a sword?: He is able to swing a sword with ease, given an Orc's natural strength. -Enjoy Farming?: He knows of it, but prefers to hunt game. His once nomadic lifestyle didn't allow for any sort of farming, but that isn't to say he's not interested. -Does your character have any special skills?: He has an affinity for language and cultural relics that he may come across. -Screenshot: http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2562/20110920202156.png
