  15. Deep within the woods of the Fringe there exists a group of individuals, banded together by their desire to be free, to do as they wish. Some call them bandits, others dub them brigands and thugs - but there is no official name for this group, no face at its head. Purpose: To obey no laws but ones own, to make a living and prosper however one wishes to do so. To offer a safe haven and like minded folk to those who wish to live the free mans life. Work: The kind of work one will be involved in upon gaining membership varies widely, but would probably be considered unscrupulous to outsiders and "illegal" to the totalitarian governments of the land. Joining: *A very simple, badly scrawled note is left on various message boards in Vekaro, the Cloud Temple, Alras, and other smaller hovels and villages. It reads:* "Those who wish to join this brotherhood of free peoples should leave their intention posted on this here board. Keep it simple, you'll be contacted eventually. To maintain the safety of our people, this group is relatively exclusive so as to keep out spies and halfhearted amateurs." ((Just kinda post on this thread. This is just for 3.5 mostly, but the group will continue in 4.0 after an updated thread and member purge. Anyone is free to post here. If you like serious outlaw RP that's not too serious, this might be for you. Think Aegis and early Asulon banditry.))
  16. A bird bearing a letter of denial is sent back to the original owner. The letter seems to be generic in nature and bears no seal. (Also if a GM/FM/Etc could delete or edit Csalz initial post with the roster that would be great, it only promoted metagaming and is extremely out of date.
  17. Tiberius Blackmont Nicknames: "Tiber" Age: 12 Gender: Male Race: Human Status: Alive Description Height: Four foot Weight: Fifty five pounds Body Type: Very slightly above average Eyes: Green Hair: Brown Skin: Slightly Tanned Markings/Tattoos: None Health: Good Personality: A quiet, introverted young man - Tiberius suffers from deep seeded depression. He holds anger for most everyone in his life, but being too young to do anything about it tends to keep to himself. Once fun loving and adventurous, life has turned Tiberius into a cynical creature, trusting few and speaking little when not necessary. He sees deception as his only real tool, all that he can use to gain some sort of edge over others. Inventory: A leather cap, a toy knight given to him by his mother Further Details: There is no one in the world that Tiberius hates more then his father. Though not fundamentally different, Tiberius sees Augustus as a despicable person, and unintelligent due to his impulses. Life Style Alignment*: Neutral Deity*: None Religion: None Alliance/Nation/Home: House Blackmont (Nominally) Job/Class: Title(s): Profession(s): Special Skill(s): Flaw(s): Tiberius naturally leans to lying, and deception of others. Constantly under threat of punishment from deviating from his Father's orders, Tiberius almost always tries to misconstrue the truth, even if he isn't in danger. Magic* Current Status: Arch-type: Sub-Type: Rank: Weakness(es): Strength(s): Current Spell(s): Weaponry Fighting Style: Trained Weapon: Favored Weapon: Archery: Biography Parents: Augustus Blackmont, Lorin Chivay Siblings: Twins, stillborn Children: None Extended Family: (Father's side) None, (Mother's side) A lot. Pet(s): None History Tiberius Blackmont was born to the loveless marriage of Augustus Blackmont, Lord of House Blackmont and ruler of the Dreadfort and Lorin Chivay, a cousin to Peter and Thomas Chivay - one commander of the White Rose, the other head of House Chivay. To his father, Tiberius was nothing but a tool to be used, like most around him, a final insult to his enemies that he intended his legacy to survive even when he was dead. In his infancy, Tiberius saw his father three times, none of which he remembers. His relationship with his mother however, is quite the opposite. From the moment he was born, Tiberius was doted upon by his mother. From her, he received all the care of a mother, and was filled all the love missing from his father. These first few years were the best Tiberius would see of his early childhood. He lived with his mother, at her home in the capital while his father made war and more enemies. His relationship with others was amiable, at the least, and he took great pride in being related to so many important people, namely the Chivay brothers. When Tiberius was five years old, his mother became pregnant again. Up to that point, Tiberius had never had a negative thought in his brain, by all means the perfectly normal, friendly child. However, upon recieving the news from Lorin that she would soon give birth to a brother or sister to Tiberius, he felt for the first time in his life - anger, jealousy, spite. The very thought that he would have to fight for his mothers affection and attention sickened Tiberius. Every night, he prayed to the Creator that some beast would come and kill his unborn sibling. Lorin had a miscarriage. After hours of pain and sweat, two lifeless infants, a brother and sister - were all that remained. It wasn't until a week later that Tiberius received the news that his wish had come true. His siblings were dead, but so was his mother. For a month thereafter, Tiberius remained in an almost catatonic state. He sincerely thought that the Creator had granted him his request, but at the same time killed his mother as punishment for the depravity of the boon. It had been his father who told him what had happened, when he arrived for the first time in almost a year at Lorin's home in the Capital. With his face totally devoid of emotion, barely a quiver in his voice, Augustus told his son the fate that had befallen his mother. It was then that Tiberius decided he truly hated his Father. With this, Tiberius was taken to his father's home, the Dreadfort. Never in his life had Tiberius seen a place so wicked, so tainted; a place that seemed to be patrolled by demons, with their cruel tongues and faces covered in blood. That night in his chamber, Tiberius renounced the Creator and his Father, cursed them, spat upon them, and glumly decided to let life do with him as he wished. Adapting to life at the Dreadfort was as difficult as the loss of his mother for Tiberius. He was not permitted to leave without a guard and explicit permission from his father, he was allowed no toys, or visitors, or interaction with other children. One month after his mother's death, his father was taken by the Emperor, and taken to the Imperial Palace under guard for his aggression against the allies of the Empire. The situation only worsened, unfortunately. Unsupervised by his father, the Dreadfort garrison became uncontrollable, now unhindered by their fear of Lord Blackmont. Tiberius was subject to multiple abuses: being hit, denied meals, and worst of all - being forced to watch the soldiers at their torture. For over a year, this was Tiberius' life, a child so consumed by fear and dread that he slowly changed into that which he hated most. His thoughts became more violent, his dreams full of thoughts of killing his father and those who pestered him the most. On the outside though, the only difference notable was that Tiberius had gotten quieter. Very early on he had learnt that speaking his mind only earned a beating, and so Tiberius waited patiently, for any chance at vengeance, for any change at all. She had short hair, and seemed very nervous. That was all Tiberius had initially thought, at the sight of the hand wringing woman brought before him by the guards. But as she spoke, a feeling of overwhelming emotion washed over Tiberius. It was his mother, returned from the dead. At that moment all of the travesties he had endured seemed tolerable, and Tiberius was simply glad to have his mother back. Stricken by grief for her lost children, and fearing the retribution of her husband, Lorin had run off, faking her own death. It was with his mother that Tiberius saw the Capital for the first time. He was furious at having been denied such sights for so long, but as always, kept the anger to himself. With his mother by his side and his hand in hers, Tiberius took in the scene that was the Emperor's court. He gazed upon the throne longingly. Trusting his mother completely, Tiberius opened up, letting her know of all his ambitions, all his secret hatred. Without a word, Lorin had looked at Tiberius for that brief moment as he imagined himself looking at his father. Tiberius feigned ignorance and simply smiled, again discovering that he should keep his true feelings to himself. The day ended, Tiberius returned to the Dreadfort, and tearfully said goodbye to his mother. Months passed, and Tiberius' father returned to the Dreadfort, to the apparent jubilation of the garrison. Though his treatment improved, he was still subject to the heavy handed criticism of his father and the harsh lessons that came with being the heir to House Blackmont. During this time, Tiberius had no word from his mother, nor sight. He suspected that her letters were being burnt, and her requests at visiting denied by his father. Seven years old, Tiberius had been forced to grow up much faster then any child should have. However, several days after Tiberius' eighth name day he receive a letter, written by a child and directed to him, it was from his cousin, Rosalie Chivay. Quickly becoming pen pals, Tiberius finally met Rosalie after many letters at the age of nine. He was immediately infatuated with her, being the only person his age he had truly communicated with. And so, in secret, the two met eachother when they were able, becoming faster friends with each meeting. While this forbidden friendship progressed, Tiberius was training. He was taught his letters, the fundamentals of logic and strategy, and combat by the feared Captain Drelik Letholdus. As his father's wars against the different Lords of Oren escalated, Tiberius found himself being groomed at a faster rate then ever for command and leadership.

  22. House Blackmont “Loved by None, Feared by All” House History: Following his return after 20 years of exile, August Flay - Lord of House Flay - reformed his renowned household with the blessing of the Emperor Godfrey in the Holy Oren Empire. Unfortunately for him, much had changed in the decades of his disappearance, and the paramountcy he once enjoyed in Oren politics was a thing of the past. New powers ruled in Oren. Unwilling to face the fact that his power had long since waned, August Flay allied himself with the Teutonic Order and challenged the Order of the White Rose; a grievous error on his part. Having not given himself enough time to gather his strength, House Flay was dealt a decisive defeat by the numerically superior Roses and their allies, and to all those in Oren and outside - appeared to have been shattered completely. Indeed it seemed this way in the aftermath. In his rage and denial, August Flay removed dozens of men from his service, murdered loyal subordinates, and began plotting his return to power. He hired sellswords, he gathered vassal houses. Most importantly, he sent a request to the Emperor. A change of his name, from the infamous Flay to the newly coined Blackmont. In this, August hoped to start anew, establish a new identity for himself and his men in the Empire. Having gathered what men he deemed loyal and fit, the first Lord Blackmont began plotting and planning, intent on retaking what he once held. In an effort to consolidate his position, Lord Augustus I hammered out alliances and took on new vassals, becoming liege to the Houses Carrion, Woods, Letholdus, and Greymane. Upon his arrival to the land of Anthos with his personal army, Lord Blackmont moved quickly to establish a new base of operations and wasted no time in resuming his activities of intimidation and terror. Peace never did last long when Lord Augustus Blackmont was involved. In a bid for more power and additional land, he declared formal war upon the Teutonic Order, relying on his terror tactics and superior numbers - albeit inferior organization. Additionally, a son was born to him by his wife, Lorin Chivay, the son that Augustus had prayed for for so many decades. With this new heir, Tiberius, born, Augustus groomed him from the beginning - so that he could properly assume control of House Blackmont upon his own death. With tensions only increasing along with the open conflict battle lines were drawn as different noble houses decided who they wanted to antagonize in the end, if any at all. At full strength and readily mobilized for war, House Blackmont geared itself to fight any that deemed necessary in order to advance in status and power. . Goals: The men of House Blackmont have but one will, that of their leader - the Lord of Blackmont. What he has in priority is known only to him truly, but the household and those who lead it have always been known to have an affinity for chaos and corruption. Their lust for power is unparalleled in the Empire, and their brutality is not matched by any other force that serves the Emperor. Responsibilities: Becoming a soldier for House Blackmont is taxing both physically and mentally. Tasks often are of a violent and immoral nature, including but not exclusive to: intimidation, robbery, murder, torture, and kicking babies. Nothing is off limits to a Blackmont man, if he knows what is best for him. Ranks: Base Ranks Lord of Blackmont: The head of House Blackmont, to be held by the eldest male relative to the previous holder of the title when deceased or deposed Captain of the Guard: Charged with the responsibility to lead soldiers into battle, this position is coveted as one to be held by only the most zealous, efficient, and cruel of Blackmont’s retainers. Sergeant of the Guard: As direct subordinates to the Captain of Guard, these men are charged to help manage the soldiers in times of battle and action in the field. Man at Arms: A professional soldier in service to the house, many of these men are in fact kidnapped at a young age for service. They fight for the household and are expected to complete any task by given a superior. They are expected to have few morals, an understanding of obedience and discipline, and a large sense of loyalty to their liege lord of Blackmont Unblooded: By no means kind or of compassionate disposition, unblooded men don the same uniform as the rest of the rank, but are simply noted to not have taken the final step to becoming a man of the Dreadfort. Specialty Ranks Men who hold specialty ranks are automatically assigned a rank that is above the common man-at-arms and Unblooded, but is under the authority of Sergeants and above. Master at Arms: A domestic position, the Master at Arms has the duty of training and organizing the Dreadfort garrison, in coordination with the Captain of the Guard. Quartermaster: The quartermaster is tasked with managing the supplies necessary to maintain House Blackmont at an optimum level. Spy Master: Subterfuge and deception has always been highly valued by Blackmont, and will continue to be valued. The Spy Master has the responsibility of keeping up to date on the affairs of Anthos, as well as delving into deeper missions. Equipment and Pay Upon joining this force, every man regardless of rank receives the following: -A suit of armor, the best available to be given out. -Weapons according to preference -Weekly food rations -Room for living, or assistance in acquiring a home Upon being promoted to the rank of Man At Arms, every man is entitled to the following: -An unlimited supply of armor, or as many suits required or available -Unlimited acces to the Blackmont weapons armory -Food rations on demand -A red bandanna or armband Blackmont men are not payed on a fixed basis, but are often payed based on the results on a given task or mission. In addition, all loot a man might be able to garner in raids and campaigns of war are his by right, and may not be taken from him. Requirements: IC: -A willingness to fight, and die, for the cause of House Blackmont and its Lord, whatever it may be. -An absence or lack of morals that may interfere in any work done in the name of House Blackmont - The ability to subordinate oneself to superiors and follow orders given -No current alliegences OOC: -Must have skype and Teamspeak -Must have or be willing to write a villain application with at least 1a,2a, and 2c -Must conduct themselves in a mature manner OOCly A flyer emblazoned with the flayed man of Blacmont hangs upon the jobs board in the various cities of the Holy Oren Empire. Also possible is the option to approach the Captain of the Guard and inquire about openings (Message csalz96 in game).
