  1. Oh hey, look. A voice of reason! It actually makes a little sense. Iron and up, in real life, takes skill and special machinery to mine properly. Otherwise, you just get scrap crap that no one is going to want to buy. They expect people with real skill and precision to Mine and Refine "said" minerals so the final product (Shears, tools, buckets, etc.) are in their finest and strongest condition and durability. Dost thou concur?
  2. I don't understand...Why does it say that. I mean, I would understand if it said that with 301+/300...But this is rediculous. It just doesn't make sense.
  3. Exactly what I mean! lol I don't think anyone will be able to log on, today. With how full it will be.
  4. Thank you, you were most helpful. Although, I doubt I'll be able to log on when it first crosses over! lol
  5. And that answers my question, how? Okay, because you didn't answer my question, at all, I'll still be logging on at 9 PM, which it only 6 hours away. Can't wait! I'll make sure to stay up, even if I'm tired!
  6. "You can be an Elf, living among Dwarfs. But it would be quite difficult." Aha...hahaha...AHAHAHAHAHAH When he said that, I was so tempted to just make a third Elf character. So tempted. Being an Elf among the Dwarfs, twice, has to be the best Rp I have ever experienced on the server! XD
  7. Yes....? , , , , No? Edit: Well okay then. By the unhelpful nature of the 20 people reading this thread, I will make sure to log on at 9 PM tomorrow. I don't know if that it the right time, or not, but I guess it's as good a time as any to host an event! LOL
  8. Sitting down onto his computer chair, a man logged on to the Lord of the Craft Website. Upon seeing the new thread from the Main Page, he would click. Lo' and behold, it was what he had been waiting a Full year for! Upon watching the trailer, his hopes were high, higher than most of the new users upon the website, as many of the newer people had no idea what a Year of waiting for something promised, did to a person. Blown away by the visuals, the Music, and the presentation, he had to catch his breath by the end of it. But upon reading down, his eyes gazed upon the plugins that were being implemented. He read it once...twice....even thrice! But, to his dismay, he didn't find what he had been hoping to be reinstated since the end of Asulon. There and then, the man broke down and wept, for the other plug-in's meant naught for him. He couldn't believe that such a simple concept was still yet to be put back into the server. Infuriated, he went to the bottom of the page and began typing, his voice begging to be heard through even the code of the Interwebs. "Why have you forsaken me!?" His words exclaimed in their heart-felt plea. "All of this, all of this! I hope that this is only the beginning of the plug-ins to be announced, for I have pushed through this Vanilla world of Lord of the Craft for so long! Of course this is the best Role play server around, but what attracted me here, the most, in early Asulon, was the idea of becoming better through Rp AND Work. Even though this is one single part that has since been forgotten in this land, I still remember it and treasure those times of feeling needed and respected for my Skill! I will give this the benefit of my doubt, since there was recently a poll for this, but I think there should be an actual update to tell us if we will continue this Vanilla-esque world, or once again be blessed by the concept of Professions." Having retyped what he had just typed about Four times, the Man decided that this was the least insulting and angry version of the four. Finished, he clicked the "Post" button, heading off to eat some Breakfast.
  9. What I am most excited for, are the plugins that will certainly be implemented. With this Vanilla stretch that has been going on since Asulon, I miss all of the amazing and unique plugin's that made this server the best. Surely, with 3.0, this very same feeling will be implemented back into the gameplay to help enhance the Roleplay experience! And if it doesn't....then I will be sorely disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the Role play is fun and player created. But, it's just, I miss people looking to me because I could cook three slices of ham from a raw slice of pork. I miss Farming crops that no one else could even dream of growing. And I miss catching 3 fish in one pull of my fishing pole, because I had put in the time and effort to level such a slow class to such a high level.
  10. See's that the server is down, puts two and Three together to make pie and totally flips his lid. "Could this be the day!? O-Oh my god! Could it!? No...They would tell us...But...what would be the point of telling us if we weren't keeping any of our stuff....I....Does not Compute...DOES NOT COMP-BZZZZZZT!"
  11. I think that it's rather funny how people say "Restrictive skills will make it so we have to find people of a certain profession to be able to obtain certain items"...Don't you do that, already!? If you were actually Role Playing on the server, you WOULD go to another town if there were no Blacksmith's online. You WOULD seek out a Chef when you have meat that needs cooked. The people who say what I previously quoted, are obviously the people who Powergame their characters into being able to make anything they need or want. Back then, in the Medieval era, people DID have to go to different towns for different needs to meet different professionals to get different items. This is exactly how it should be in LotC. And a restricted skills plugin like Vaq's weeded out the "Mary Sue's" who thought that "Oh, since I can't find anyone online who can fix this, I might as well fix it myself when no one is looking." No! I'm sorry to say, No! You can not do that. Any item that you make by OOC means and use in RP should be strictly prohibited. People also say that Grinding doesn't build Rp and, in fact, hampers it. I, for one, disagree with this through experience. With my first character, Caseus, he was a farmer, a Cook, and a Fisherman. People Respected and Protected him because he was able to Cook 3 Filet's of Pork from one solid hunk of Raw Meat. Because he could catch three fish at a time and, sometimes, even treasure. Because he could farm any crop available and actually make it so that he did it in an Rp fashion. And all of this Respect and Protection brought him great Role play, a house, and a Job that not very many others ((among the Dwarfs)) could do. So yes, I want a system like Vaq's to return. As I think it would increase this economy by an incredible amount. Edit: I didn't mean that Dwarfs can't get houses or jobs, but Farmers among Dwarfs, Rp-wise, are almost non-existent. lol
  12. We don't NEED a new map! I find Rp easily on this island and am current busy with my job on here. I see nothing wrong with this map that is actually wrong. The reasons that I've seen that we need a new map is because people are unable, or just not wanting to, create Rp to make it interesting. If you are bored, do something out of the box and creative that will include other people. This doesn't necessarily mean a good thing, it can even be villainous. But on a server like this one, the only reason it would ever be "boring" is because of you, the user.
  13. Care to include an explanation to your opinion?
  14. Is there....something wrong with Elysium? Why do we have to move?
  15. This...So much of this! This, above all else, is the main point to blow all "Give us all the basic skills and have professions just be better" arguments out of the water.
  16. Here comes my opinion: I think that this is perfect. It is terrible not to have any skills or professions. As long as we don't have Skills, there will always be the Powergaming outside of skills. No one would be willing to be a perfect Rp'er without restrictions, for there would always be a "I don't have this, no one is online to help, and no one is around to see me do this thing that is outside my characters ability", and doing something in ooc and saying that someone else made it for you IC'ly? What if someone walked up to you and asked you who made that for you and where would they go to have it done? How would you answer something like that? With restrictions like this, it would give people chances to actually build a life on the server. I mean, Rp isn't supposed to be "Fun excitement" all of the time. You have to take it in both strides, as it is inevitable that down times will happen. And, with all of these skills, I can see shop keepers being friends with one another, giving special deals to one another and stuff of the like. The thing that I am disappointed by, is there is an absence of a "Bartender" profession.
  17. *Actually didn't watch the video, only listened to it, as this guy doesn't want to know what the 3.0 Build looks like, at all. :D* Thank you, I'll be awaiting the video with much anticipation!
  18. So, did this thread just die, or is it just taking a really long time to answer my question?
  19. I have a few questions, actually. Question #1: Are you able to leak "any" news, at all, about the Professions system? If so, I am most curious about that, most of all. Question #2: Vaq once talked about a "Kingdoms" Plugin, that would have forced Cities and Towns to pay a Tax. If they weren't able to pay the tax, due to inactivity, they would be Naturally devastated and left in ruins (Or something to that affect). Will there be something like that in 3.0?
  20. Noticing that Hiebe left out his question about the "Wolves", he almost asked again, but decided to keep quiet. It must be a Subject that the King was rather sore about, he surmised.
  21. Rather unnerved by how quiet the king was, Bifor suddenly looked around. Seeing no one, his gaze returned to Hiebe, befuddled by the Kings odd behaviour. "Soir. 's evertin' ahroit?"
  22. Bifor had been silent through all of these happenings, the news of betrayal great upon his heart. Watching as the head of the accused was brought in, he would cry quietly, his tears rolling from his cheeks and into his beard. The idea that such dwarfs can exist, grieved him greatly. Even though he was a dwarf of great joy and charity, he was not above "feeling" for others, and he wept for the sake of Grimloth, only able to imagine the turmoil that his soul would go through for all eternity in Yemekars Forge. Grunting, wiping his face, he turned and waddled to the Farm-to-be, wanting to have something to take his mind off of this terrible happening.
  23. Following Hiebe out of the Capitol entrance, a right turn took them through the farm that he had labored on for nearly over a month, now. He had felt so accomplished that he had turned such a hill-bound terrain into fertile land. So many questions were on his mind, but he kept them to himself, knowing that the king must have a good reason to force him to stop his farming. They came under the archway that opened into the Old dock area. Looking upon the Lumberyard, wondering why Hiebe had led him there, he looked to the king questioningly. What he heard, only made more questions bubble in his mind. "Yer sayin' dat Oi 'ave tuh move dah fahm 'ere, 'cause ah group called dah "wolves" wan' deir land back?" He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Looking to the Lumberyard again, he let the size of it sink in. "'nd 'cause'v dat, yeh wan' meh tuh turn dis intuh the Fahm, instead? Soir, if Oi'm permitted tuh ask, why did dese "Wolves" abandon dat fahm in dah firs' place?" Bifor knew that turning something like the lumberyard into a farm, was going to easily be more challenging than the hill he had dug up. Thinking about it, chopping tree's wasn't really a strong suit of his. But, thinking of managing all of those root systems that had to have linked to cause trouble, the idea of any of this, didn't seem like a fair trade to him. "Alsuh" He said, talking to cover the thoughts that whirled in his mind, he continued on. "Oi 'eard tell dat dah Tavern doesn' 'ave ah vereh dedicated Keep. When Oi'm able tuh get dis new fahm fertoil and growin'. Could Oi...Mehbeh...take over dah job'v keepin' dah Tavern?"
  24. Thinking to speak up, having spent at least a month on that farm, he stopped himself, knowing that raising his voice to his king was not in his best interests. Instead, he took a deep breath, letting it go, and nodded, smiling. "Oi tank yeh, Sire. Oi 'aven't been able tuh foind aneh'un in yer foine kingdom tuh 'elp meh wit moi tools." Pulling a Hoe of Dwarven crafted Iron, the head was easily seen wobbling on it's handle, the Iron faded with a month of vigorous Farming. "See what oi mean? 'nd Oi cannae foind ah Cahpentah 'r ah smith among aneh'v dem. If'n it seems fit tuh yeh tuh provoide meh wit ah new Spade 'r two, Oi can make duh wit teh 'oes'v stone that Oi's given."
