  1. Chapter II: Old Shadows ((Before you scroll down and set on. Please be mindful of your population and please, PLEASE list in your posts if you have any population modifiers. Thank you kindly.)) It was an active year, dangerous perhaps, but the stint of the Replicants was brief, most of the attackers being destroyed by the Redon war machine, just to then retreat everywhere to no-man’s-space. With them being off the radar, something else was brewing on the horizon, and it would be a danger unexpected. ----- Frontier Colony Affiliation The Frontier Colony Affiliation completes another colony ship this year, living up to their name, the ship likely will head out toward a far-off hinterland, establishing another small outpost for the nation. The freighter quickly follows the colony ship out of the shipyard, ready to be deployed to the already significant merchant fleet of the Affiliation. Business on Utopie continues to expand this year as the Affiliation heavily invests in developing the most populous and centrally located of its colonies. Despite all efforts the scientists are unable to make any notable progress on the development of this melee weaponry. The technology pre-existing at the same time also shows to be no help for the matter. Alike the force blades, the infantry shields are a concept and idea on paper at the end of this year. It is a difficult process of developing something of this kind. Whilst a good amount of the citizens of various race are registered as psionic, their strength level is impossible to find out or simply too miniscule. For state service itself, nobody appeared to volunteer at this point in time. Little is happening this year, given the events taking place everywhere and the galactic tension being at an all-time peak. Whilst there is some minor tourism going on with the Confederation of Xaplonius, nothing above the ordinary levels of traffic happens. The now Corrupter free Eastern regions of the Milky way appear to see a lot of activity as they stumble upon new colonies, owned by various Northern nations and the Empire of Chupan’Mo of the Sculptor cluster. It seems safe and free of pirate activity. Republican Systems of Edonia Project Furmis continues this year as the Accord again pools their resources. As a very ambitious project of a newly designed and practical combat suit for the infantry, the design enters concept phases, it will be a long time until they have something substantial. Combining the weapon systems proves to be more difficult than initially assumed. Step by step they are making progress, but they have no concluded the project yet. The Edonians establish another colony this year as the Republic continues to expand along the southern edge of Human space. United States Of Arcturus The United State’s first Dreadnought, the U.S.S. Constitution, arrives in Arcturian space this year. It looms large over New Plymouth Rock, a beacon of hope that gives the Arcturian people a strong sense of security. Both colony worlds receive a significant increase in home defenses as PSDI fortifications are installed. The colonists on those planets feel relieved that the defenses from the homeworld have finally arrived, and any unease about foreign occupation settles down - for now. The bunkers and THEIA serve to do much the same for the Arcturian people, instilling confidence in the strength of the regime. (Note: Remember your national bonus when you add this up.) Two frigates and a corvette exit the Arcturian shipyard this year, joining the already large fleet of the Republic. What a wild election it would be. (Skype) HEPHAESTUS ENTERPRISES Industreh! The massive mobile superstore, the Affordable, enters production this year. The shipyard buzzes with activity as the Affordable is assembled with great haste. It’s accompanying supply ships are completed immediately afterward as well. Upon its completion, the Affordable enters service with great pomp and circumstance, ready to offer the entire galaxy incredible, affordable, and reliable products. With the next series of upgrades complete, the Ares III enters full production and several private citizens from various markets feel compelled to make a purchase, though there appears to be an inquiry from the Redon Imperium for a contract. (Skype) The Ka’Cezh freighter receives a new engine early in the year, entering service into the vast merchant fleet of the megacorporation. The charming 17-year old Aleya Datrax (currently) and the 1-year old Sinchil Datrax (currently) do arrive at Hades to meet with their father-in-law (for Aleya), grandfather (for Sinchil) and new family. Kind, gentle and quite naive are probably some adjectives befitting the young mother. She appears quite excited about the potential wedding. And he is witnessed twenty-six times on various worlds for the first half of the year, before vanishing again. And they reach the world of new Siam, a stable community of traditional values has grown there. They are fond of meeting other humans after so many years, show respect to the representatives. Kingdom of Armathwaite/Silver Knight Corporation LSAA receives a loan this year. Given the vast amount of resources poured into the wedding by the Kingdom of Armathwaite, the venue seems safe enough and security personnel are adequately prepared to respond to any immediate threats to the safety of both Prince Henry and the Redon Princess Ytre Redon. To just top off the already excellent security, a whole Redon warfleet, and a whole regiment of the Redon Imperial Guard are assigned to the Silver Knight’s command. It appears the Redon Yratak VI. wants to be absolutely sure this goes as planned. Red dar Imperiad. The Armathwaite Trade Center expands this year, much to the delight of various Anglo-merchants. The three nations accept and beginning trading with Armathwaite. Ironic. Despite the point system the influx of migrants is almost unchanged. The Redons that move into the Kingdom appear to have astounding curricula. In general, the educational level of all immigrants is very high, none of the nations of origin having issues with poverty and many have equal rights and chances. Seelil herself does indeed show up. And that already, unasked, uninvited to the wedding. Given her elegant appearance and her display, she simply charms her way in. Armathwaite’s navy enters a long series of fleet exercises this year, boosting the competency of their fleet. Given the nature of the Replicant threat, many believe these exercises to be of the utmost importance. The Backhatta decline to join these operations though as they need to keep their fleet at home to defend against their own incursions. The invitation is accepted by all four nations. The Trade Federation The trade station in the East is finished as planned. It should help out, if more trade is to flow through there. The TAROT system is at last operational. But it remains to be seen how effective it can truly be. MENDICANT continues its research process, picking up old strings and proceeding research. They have yet to show the first prototypes and usable systems. Whilst the ships are finished as intended, the switch of the language is easy to do. For outsiders or migrants, they do not truly care as they already use it as the primary language of communication. The human populace is a bit uneasy, but it should not be a problem. It will take a while to switch completely, but nothing of it should be too troublesome. -- A smaller version is quickly developed and readied up. MENDICANT on the other hand is not complete yet. It will take more time and resources to achieve what is planned. Even with MENDICANT not wrapped up entirely, the project Ruthless Monkey rolls on and climbs on jungle trees. Whilst the territorial scans show no results, they manage to fish out one or the other dubious freighter with some dangerous cargo. (+4 AP this turn) The Redons see no reason for that, given the ships can freely pass through Redon territory in the first place. And they are already patrolling space in the vicinity, making it probably one of the more safer places. For first the conflict does not appear to affect the trade at all. Diplomacy appears to play no particular role either at the moment. The conflict is fresh and the parties eager for battle. The details are apparently border disputes and old grievances for territories and resources once coveted by either side. The white suited man when seen, happens to talk to one or the other person briefly, enjoying a drink at a bar, buying something in a store. Always friendly, not stressed, easy-going. Peculiar. -- Later in the same year, the Replicants show up, causing havoc and destruction for the Trade Federation. Andorra Resources arrive to the G.E.N.S. to assist them in their efforts. The S.S. Nina exits the Andorran shipyards this year, contributing to the growth of the humble Kingdom. A fine ship ready to take on any colonization projects to come. The projects HIPS and ATM continue, reports showing some progress. (Skype) The old man in his white suit is reported seen three times in August, but then never again. Oddly enough, some storage countings don’t add up and the balance sheets seem oddly off. There appear to be more resources around than expected. (8 bonus AP this year) Despite finding rich asteroids of common metals and minerals, they are unable to find anything out of the ordinary in all the claimed territory. Following the widespread outbreak of war to the North, no partnerships can be arranged this year. At least a couple of Cevelli scientists for Theoretical Mathematics and Quantum Physics show up to help out. The colonists of New Siam appreciate the offer and do agree to enter a trade agreement, given capacity. With all the chaos they are being shown right away, any guidance might be helpful for them to persist in this world. Imperial Provinces The Replicants show up, destroy some fortifications and then quickly withdraw. Odd. Project Furmis continues to receive funding. The Imperial fleet increases substantially in size this year as a pair of light cruisers, a support carrier, and three destroyers join the Imperial fleet. The fleet looms large over Imperial space, and it is a relief given the nature of the close encounter with the Replicants. The Imperial University of Medicine and Biology’s increase in funding and decision to focus on one single purpose serves to greatly improve the abilities of the school. More human experts flock to the university, and the study of the human body’s potential… The Kingdom of Unified Systems Violet noise continues, with more interesting progress shown this year. (Skype) The Kingdom of Unified Systems prepares to expand this year as a colony ship steams out of the nation’s shipyard. The British people of the K.U.S., eager to live up to their British legacy, clamor for the chance to board and set out into the stars. Thulean Republic The Replicants leave a wake of destruction on the Thulean homeworld. But they persist. The city of Phénicie acts as a point of pride for the Thulean people as it rises from the rubble of Espérance defiantly. Its sleek architecture and beautiful design make it one of the most elegant cities in all of the human colonies, attracting human and alien tourists alike to its streets. The shipyard of the Thulean Republic expands significantly, benefitting from tremendous investments from the Trade Federation. A quantum anchor and TAROT outpost are constructed alongside of it, serving to bolster the confidence of many in the Thulean military brass. Hearing of the destruction and following the further investments, Chupan’Mo sends aid. (+3 AP from friend of the Chupan'Mo now. Previously +2. 5 AP this turn as “humanitarian” aid) And their delegations are welcomed on the colony of New Siam. (Skype, I suppose) The Han Dominion REDACTED remains REDACTED. A massive Dreadnought is constructed in Beijing Stronghold this year, a sight to behold from the surface of Yuguo before it quickly departs to enter service into the United States navy. A large colony ship soon follows, though this one remains in orbit above the Han capital, ready to pursue new lands ripe for rice farming. Shi Feng and his men set out to establish a new colony for the rebellious factions of the Han Dominion after commandeering the vessel successfully. The colony will serve as a loyal bastion for the self-proclaimed legitimate successor to the Han under the Dao Yi. Meanwhile, the establishment government on Yuguo attempts to maintain its legitimacy by declaring its newest territorially claims, most of which border Wairen space. Upsizing is a bit of a challenge as you can not just make everything bigger. Intricate systems and fine workings are still needed. Clearly, this project will take more time. Whatever they are plotting, it continues. The first world they find is a world covered in oceans with a great amount of smaller islands and archipelagos, only one bigger landmass. The stone-beings do send one or the other ambassador along, to witness what she has to offer. Learning more and building a stable relationship with them might be convenient. Kyber Kore The corporation expands operations in a nearby star system, establishing a new colony without much trouble. As this occurs, a massive university complex is established on the planet Viyter and prepares to start operations in 2148 after assembling a relatively competent staff. The Maltese Principalities Project Furmis receives funding from yet another member of the Accord this year. Both projects appear to have reached an interesting turning point. (Skype) Another Maltese colony ship leaves their shipyard this year, ready to set out to expand the far-reaching principalities once again. Despite all efforts, nothing appears to change this year, no new partnerships and only a sharp note from the Redon Imperium to cease all propaganda against them is what comes from it. G.E.N.S To Infinity… and beyond! (Skype) The Beta colony continues to expand, providing more room to grow for the scientific corps. While that occurs, three frigates leave the G.E.N.S shipyards to join their small fleet. Solar Ascendancy Close, but they could not finish it this year. A prototype halfway done, almost ready. But still in the workshop. And it continues on. For a horizon is far and hard to reach. For particular reasons it seems. More life in this world, wonderful enough isn’t it? And who would have thought it would happen. (Skype) Contact is readily established, any envoys and ambassadors welcomed by the colony of New Siam. LSAA receives a heavy investment from the Solarins this year, a wealthy bunch that LSAA (Z3r05t4r: Must make them suffarrrr.) Republic Star State of Kanata Kanata’s shipyard receives significant amounts of investments this year, growing substantially into a tier five shipyard. It is ready to produce several ships of significant size now. Despite those capabilities, three measly corvettes roll out of the yard this year to… test it out, one might guess? Asgard Republic A wise decision indeed, the Asgardian Republic see’s its first Light Cruiser join the fleet. The largest ship in their navy to date, the Asgardian people breathe a collective sigh of relief upon its completion. In the meantime, construction continues on the Asgard trade station. 500 Hunter bots join the Asgarder military, ready to serve at their masters in battle. Protocol 12 rolls on. Laser technology is a different topic, but they are working on it. (Skype) ---- Events A widespread retreat of all Replicant forces to unknown territories. They seem nowhere to be found, the Saryn themselves being silent about the matter, the Redons shrug it off, calling it a warmup. Unpredictable. A word for the news when it was just announced that the Darkul, Kalronians and Keerim have officially forged an alliance. Unprecedented. A word for the report of the Ka’cezh losing six major battles against the Zaxx Empire. Tactics, equipment, morale, even luck? Who knows. Unseen. As a fleet of 20,000 Darkul ships begin their assault on the old and mighty Ka’cezh Star Empire. As another fleet of 10,000 Darkul ships invade the Ymorian Unity Council. Unabated. The onsetting attack of the Kalronians on the Ganvius to go on through the year. To reclaim and finish what was started. Uneasy. The space between Keerim and LC domain. Fleets staring down at eachother. Ready for round two. Following one speech a migration has started. It could have come differently, but who knows. The Tassaran Republic announces its alliance with the Chupan’Mo, the Confederation of Xaplonius on tow. They are currently discussing a potential agreement with the Cevelli, according to rumors. With the war breaking out in the West of the North, chaos spreading, trade takes a sharp turn to the East, soon to cause some people to lose influence and riches. --- Population ---- Map ---- Year 2148 by Earth’s Calendar.
  2. Chapter II: Old Shadows A year of peace it seems. An uneasy peace, overshadowed by the armament of billions, east and west. And then again another shadow would show itself this year. New friends, new foes, old friends, old foes. In the midst of it all, a child born, a wedding to take place, a speech to be held, a brother to be met. The Maltese Principalities The universities on Malta slowly gain reputation as they institutions grow, with more staff, more teachers, many of them from abroad. As a result there is an increasing influx of students from abroad to study various civilian topics at the Maltese universities. Whilst some do not react to the inquiry for exchange programs, a few universities do indeed, namely from the Skellar Kingdom, the Redon Imperium, the Republic of Galaron, the Confederation of Xaplonius, the Cevelli Pact and the Alduu'uuranean Protectorate. The course offerings and subjects on exchange are quite diverse, with the Skellar mostly related to machining and engineering, the Redons in strategic and logistic planning, the Galaron in free arts, the Grgl in culinary expertise and cooking, whilst the Cevelli and Alduu'uuranean both return with a program for agriculture and forestry. Given the continous religious issues in the Adaptaar Commonality, more do indeed show up in this year, in large numbers. They find a total of 43 unmarried Da'nor of noble families, ranging from ages 16 to 24. Eleven of them with psionic capabilities to various extents. Given that beauty is subjective, pictures and recordings were conducted to be appropriate. A TV company in the Grand Alliance smells an opportunity and inquires if it could buy the rights to make a show out of it. Who gets to marry the ominous Human prince. Projects are projects are projects are projects. But only between projects. (Skype) And the Chupan'Mo reply. (Skype) Quite on the contrary, the Ar'gakari feel no culture shock, but show appreciation towards their new neighbours. They speak flawless Firstborn it seems, something they were taught in school as a second language, given all these Ar'gakari were born in the Milky Way, and it was a reliable way to communicate with the Ka'cezh and other Northern nations. Most of the freed Ar'gakari were normal people, accountants, workers, lawyers, teachers for elementary schools, and so forth. It seems there are absolutely no scientists amongst them or engineers with higher expertise. The Frontier Colony Affiliation The clone program is heavily disputed and does indeed attract great disdain from the surrounding nations. Perhaps it's founded in spiritualism, but nobody should be allowed to play god and "build" beings in such an unnatural way. They also lack the spark of true life, according to Protorian comments, making them abominations, soulless beings. In sight of the clone program the Protorian council demands it to cease immediately. Whilst they do not advocate war and are generally opposed to giving technology for the purpose of warfare, they do agree to supply the blueprints and technology for a well-developed energy cell for forceblades that lasts remarkably long, for whatever purposes required. The reallocated resources grand the FCA a large freighter at the end of the year. Amongst the vast populace of Utopie, they do indeed find a great number of psionically capable people. Their strengths vary strongly though. Whilst the offer of combat units to the LC is appreciated, they currently decline to send any advisors or officers, stating they currently need them to train their own fresh units first for the war that may set on soon again. On the other hand, the Chupan'Mo are willing to make contact. (Skype) Republican Systems of Edonia Both battleships leave the docks as planned, frightening and powerful, two ships to behold, two ships to serve a nation. Less remarkable but at least as essential, a colonial ship is finished at the same time, ready to settle new worlds. And they do find a dreary grey Tundra world in a solar system in the East. Lichens and moss mostly, but the atmosphere was breathable, tectonics were surprisingly low and it was a very flat world, ideal for widespread build. G.E.N.S Finding a tropical world with dense jungles they decide to set down. Another world claimed by GENS. (The extra AP were not required, given you already had a colony ship. You have 2 additional AP for the next turn.) The secret projects on the other hand though continue their developement and are far from done one could claim. (A little note, who is in your federation? Poke me in Skype.) Hephaestus Enterprises A secret undertaking. (Skype) The rifle is easily upgraded with such a mechanic and soon the first early models of the Ares III (Xenonauts rifle :P) with merely the lense switch mechanism are ready. Another little perk this early new model has though, is a very complex capacitator, a piece of Arcturan technology which is utilized for their long-range railgun rifles. This does crunch the energy consumption quite substantially. And more ships they receive. Battleship and Heavy cruiser alike are ready at the end of the year, to fight for Hephaestus' greed. How focused can a laser be? Not focused enough it seems. A new wavelength is attempted with surprising success, giving the laser a new color though (purple). Optimization in the swarm behaviour software for the missiles makes them operate more smoothly and less predictable for enemies. And it appears his extracurricular activities made him a father. A sixteen year old Terraskolarian appears to have become the mother of his daughter. Terrific, that they both visit the academy, share classes and now a Terraskolarian father who is a mayor of a city on the Terraskolarian homeworld wants someone to take responsibility. At least the now grandmother does not seem to be upset. Given the planet has some very cheese-like looking deserts with old impact craters that have hardened and "glaced" over whilst retaining the yellow color, it is a fitting name. The scans yield no results. Except for an empty Ka'cezh freighter with a defunct engine floating in the middle of an asteroid belt. They picked everything CLEAN. United States Of Arcturus Whilst the scans yield no further results, the improvements in the fortifications proceed at a good pace, more emplacements on the worlds becoming fortresses. As if the people got very good at building defenses. For the most part the no-man's-space between LC held and supported territory and Keerim appears quite inactive, though there were some close and uneasy encounters, one of an Arcturan patrol and a Keerim patrol. Weapons were locked onto eachother, but then no shot was fired, and the Keerim turned and left the unowned solar system. Needless to say, there was a war brewing. The quantum anchors would serve a quick reaction purpose well. But it is always a one-way thing if many ships have to be moved at once. Kingdom of Armathwaite And both light cruisers return to the Kingdom, ready to assume their duties, be it for war, peacekeeping or showboating. The newly built suits would already hold the purposed improvements that were later added to the existing models at that point. The shields and reactors should improve the fighter's general combat abilities and survivability. All support given... the election turns out in favor of another candidate, who is more social-democratic. It appears the people of the Republic wish for social security first and welfare, before minding the market. Given the Republic's strong economy anyway, the effort was not without merit. The marriage between the Redon princess and the Silver prince is to be held soon. With that announced, thousands of new Redon inhabitants appear in the Kingdom, supposedly seeing it as a new province of their Imperium. (Skype) Kyber Kore Whilst the platform is finished as planned, the freighter is only half-done, given the shortage of resources with the recent restructurings in government and society. The Kingdom of Unified Systems A new sound has appeared. (Skype) The Han Dominion With the concept and design in place, they successfully develop a reliable plasma rifle this year. Good range, semi-automatic fire, devastating plasma define this new gun. Unfazed by the stirrings in the Han Dominion, the shipyards finish a colonial freighter, ready to set foot on a new world for the Han. All in the while they finish the expansion of the mighty and looming shipyard in orbit around their capital world. It's an impressive show of force, housing hundreds of workers, capable of building giant vessels. Wen Yang has some success and slowly gets to grasp their language, but it will take more time yet to fully converse without being puzzled by some of the thought patterns. Dai Hanying graduates with on Master level from the Cevelli Pact University for Masters of Psionic Powers. By now she is in full control of her powers and at a level of eight on the psionic scale. But she is to meet someone she would not expect. (Skype) Andorra All projects continue without issue. Results are yet to be seen. On the other hand, the colony ship sets down successfully on the world preparing to establish the mining colony for the rare Dakite. Despite all efforts, there are no Zyrka who appear to hold any interest at this point in time. A trade agreement is readily signed, with Cevelli ships showing up at Andorran tradeports. Imperial Provinces The colony ship is finished as planned, prepared to claim a new world for the Imperials. On the other hand a battleship leaves the allied shipyard, a powerful card for the wars to come. They find a temperate Earth-like world in the East, just outside the territorial claims. It appears to have a rich deposit of Itoron, with vast mountain ranges gleaming in black. Solar Ascendancy A concept is far from a finished product. They begin prototyping this year, but no functional model has been finished yet. The project continues, old files are called up... riddles. How the concept works is not quite clear yet, but they thoroughly begin to work on the matter with the new resources and matter at hand. Someone dreamt of old men in white suits hopping over a fence. Republic Star State of Kanata The redesign of the heavy autoloader cannon for the mech works well and seems to be a suitable fit for the machine in question. Thulean Republic And a breakthrough is achieved. At long last. (Skype) The Chupan'Mo readily return the favor with extra benefits for Thulean merchants and people. (+2 AP from friend of the Chupan'Mo) In the meantime the two corvettes are built, all colonization and territorial efforts are made without issue... until a seemingly hostile fleet appears without warning in the capital system of the Republic. Battlestations! (Skype) ---- Events More reports appear of the Saryn Guardians fighting amongst themselves. Two freighters, a Grgl one and a Backhatta one are reported missing en route North. With trouble like this on the western routes, some advise to use the new Eastern route. Redon fleets are reported everywhere maneuvering and exercising. Dire headlines for those who are concerned. The Zaxx Empire and the Ka'cezh Star Empire have officially entered war after things escalated. Combat has been heavy, with losses on both sides. No other nation appears to have joined in yet. Darkul ships are reported scouting throughout the Southern galaxy outside of national borders. It appears they are exploring the Milky Way. The man in the white suit is being seen in Hephaestus, the Solar Ascendancy, the Thulean Republic, Andorra and the Confederation of Xaplonius. Ominous. A "lost" Human colony of former South-East Asian countries enters the quantum communications, it appears to have stranded on a ocean world south of the Solar Ascendancy. New Siam the colony calls itself. It had no contact with any other races previously and there is a bit of chaos present, given the amount of new contacts. ---- Population Imperial Provinces - 1,045,000 Humans Solar Ascendancy - 602,000 Humans, 79,500 Grgl, 45,500 Tassarans, 36,000 Libellans, 30,500 Human-Tassarans, 10,000 Karass Silver Knight Company - 585,000 Humans, 91,500 Tassareans, 40,000 Backhatta, 75,000 Redons, 28,500 Human-Redons, 29,500 Human-Tassareans, 75,750 Galaron, 7,500 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 11,000 Redon-Tassareans, 3,500 Karass United States of Arcturus - 302,000 Humans, 23,000 Da'nor, 6,900 Human-Tjieran, 20,000 Skellar, 14,000 Libellans, 2,500 Ceri (50,000 Ceri Garrison, 20,000 Ascardian Garrison, 40,000 Da’nor Garrison) Hephaestus Holdings - 965,000 Humans, 175,000 Grgl, 258,000 Tassareans, 72,500 Human-Tassareans, 45,000 Libellans, 42,500 Redons, 43,000 Backhatta, 33,000 Human-Redons, 123,000 Galaron, 19,500 Redon-Tassareans, 14,000 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 27,000 Protorians, 3,500 Karass Free Human Technocracy - 540,000 Humans, 60,000 Da'nor, 30,000 Human-Da'nor People's Council of Utopie - 486,500 Humans, 34,000 Protorians, 45,000 Libellans, 80,000 Grgl, 75,000 Tassareans, 38,000 Human-Tassareans, 28,000 Backhatta, 32,000 Skellar, 68,000 Galaron, 11,000 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 930,000 Humans, 25,000 Ganvians, 40,000 Ceri, 41,000 Tjierans, 72,000 Ascardians, 43,000 Da'nor, 20,000 Human-Tjierans, 25,000 Human-Da'nor, 24,000 Human-Ascardians, 17,000 Tjieran-Ascardians, 14,000 Ascardian-Da'nor, 28,000 Skellar, 28,000 Libellan, 2,500 Tjieran-Da’nor, 1,750 Ar'gakari, 25,000 Adaptaar, 1,000 Alduu'uuranean, 500 Cevelli Han Dominion - 835,000 Humans, 1,750 Ar'gakari Star Republic of Edonia - 495,000 Humans Republic Star State of Kanata - 497,250 Humans Ultima Thule - 255,000 Humans, 30,000 Da'nor, 11,500 Ceri, 15,000 Ascardians, 12,000 Tjierans, 16,000 Redons, 48,000 Krib, 2,000 Human-Da’nor, 1,500 Human-Ascardians, 1,000 Human-Tjierans, 750 Human-Redons, 1,500 Da’nor-Ascardian, 750 Da’nor-Tjieran, 750 Tjieran-Ascardians Asgard Republic - 475,000 Humans Porton Technocracy - 430,000 Humans, 26,000 Cevelli, 15,000 Ka'cezh, 13,000 Zyrka, 12,000 Ymorian, 9,000 Alduu'uuranean, 44,000 T'jell, 73,000 Krib, 10,500 Human-Cevelli, 5,000 H’Wong, 1,000 Karrass Andorra - 380,000 Humans, 19,250 Cevelli, 4,500 Zyrka, 2,500 Ymorians, 2,500 Human-Cevelli, 30,000 Krib, 11,500 H’wong Kingdom of United Systems - 402,500 Humans, 4,500 Tassareans, 8,500 Grgl, 1,500 Human-Tassareans G.E.N.S. - 528,000 Humans ---- Map To be added later. ---- Year 2147 by Earth’s Calendar.
  3. Chapter I: The Great Wars (Ended) Chapter II: Old Shadows The Great Wars were over, an era of peace seems to settle in. Prosperity was coming to many, it was calm and quiet. Before the storm. A peace, yes, yet uneasy, with the Lithruan Coalition and the Keerim Imperium staring at eachother, armed to the teeth, billions of soldiers in arms. In their back, a Redon whose motives of conquest and expansion are unknown to many, after he has taken control of the Karass people, their lands and space, giving his Imperium a massive boost. In the North, the Darkul have grabbed a foothold on the milky way, after conquering the Ar'gakari. Their motives as unclear as ever. The Heart within appeared dormant. The Saryn Guardians laboring ahead, silent, with minimal contact to any outsiders. And amongst it all, with Margek in charge of the newly established Saryn State, the oldest and most advanced race in the galaxy, ready to prove its mettle in these times. Republican Systems of Edonia The construction of all ships proceeds as planned, with the first battleship being completed, whilst leaving two structural bodies in the vicinity of the shipyard, waiting for completion. The trade post is expanded as planned, allowing new merchants to successfully dock their ships and conduct free trade. The Affiliation Construction continues, but the rumors and news reach the outside, bringing heavy complains from the surrounding nations. The Protorian Council specifically notes, that clones are not meant to be, lacking the spark of true life and just being products of people dabbling with natural evolution and growth, something not supposed to be done by them. The construction of the valley hospital begins, depending on how expansive it gets, at the current rate it might take many more years before being fully operational. On the other hand, the industry grows richer by yet another complex, producing new goods and bringing fresh wind into the nation's economy. The Han Dominion Redacted continues. The first concepts are drawn up, ideas worked out, and a prototype for a simple plasma pistol is finished, proving to be surprisingly reliable and solid for a first-time plasma weapon of mankind. The design of various bigger firearms is still something they need to continue working on, but it is a start. The shipyard grows and grows, but still, the end is not in sight. (26/40 AP to SL6.) Two massive Darkul freighters with heavy escort show up by the start of this new year, dropping off their cargo. Solar Ascendancy Eve, Longshot, Swarm. So many names, so little time. :D (Skype) A light mech, or light walker, as utilized by many nations as a light combat unit with a support role to the infantry is a concept they will continue exploring. Given the technological relationship between the Silver Knight Transformer and this project, it proceeds quite steadily and rapidly, a concept already finished with all required details at the end of this year. The support carrier leaves the shipyard as planned, ready to carry the hundred fists of the Solar ascendancy. The colony is established as planned, a frozen world not unlike their capital. It is familiar and perhaps gives them more of a sense of home than one would anticipate. Kingdom of Armathwaite And three destroyers are finished the very same year. They join the growing fleet of the Kingdom. There is a recent election in the runs with three major candidates, one being more conservative, focusing on strengthening the country's autarky, the second pursuing aggressive free trade, the third focusing a more relaxed middle approach. Currently there are no favors. The big topic of the Republic is economy and rebuilding at this point. Secrets. (Skype) Given that there is no piracy and Redons and Protorians have a firm grip on their space, makes the traders feel more secure than ever. But hey, more protection is not an issue. It might be a shock, a surprise, but it is real. 2146, the Kingdom of Armathwaite receives a message from the Redon Imperium, where the Redon demands direct vassalage under the Imperium. The Trade Federation The deal is signed. They finally choose to settle down on a beautiful lush green world, which does hold a series of deep ravines from previous combat between Crusaders and Corrupters. If they only knew, it was one of the worlds where Jie of Han was in command of purging it. Nevertheless, they install the THEIA scanner system and continue about their daily lives. The publishment gets a response by the Cynn Foundation and Cevelli Pact, who themselves have already established new colonies nearby. They claim to share the goal of furthering the wealth of all, and bringing new activity and life to this devoid area of the galaxy. Trade station and defense platform are added as planned, ready to fulfill their duties. The Saryn language is the most suitable language for a multi-race language. Many have learned it and it is often the first foreign language children learn in their schools in many different countries. The signing of a contract of such extents will be a difficult task, but many of the nations, north and south agree to join the talks. (Skype) Hephaestus Enterprises Efficiency, focus, cutting strength, the list of improvements is long, but in no category have they finished up. Improvements left right and center, but never done, never finished. (They got better, but there is more potential ;) ) With a big bugfix in the targetting system, the swarm missiles have drastically reduced the chance to crash into eachother when rapidfired in huge clusters. The two ships return to Hephaestus space as intended. On the other hand, 12,000 Tithonus combat droids are finished and delivered to the US in the east. The colony ship leaves its own shipyard, ready to settle another world for the evergrowing corporate state. And he is hitting on probably anything with two legs, Tjieran, Da'nor, Ascardian, Terraskolarian, even one or the other human. Might even hit on one of the Redon gals. The Kingdom of Unified Systems The secret project Violet Noise rolls on. (Skype) Imperial Provinces Yet another colony ship for the Imperials, and their ever-growing populace, ready to settle another world. Business investments en masse to bring new speed to the economy of the capital world of Novam Domum. It seems to attract some tourists from the nearby LC. (+1 AP from Tourism per turn) (These investments count into business separately too.) Fulmuris continues, and the boarding put enters the earliest stages of idea developement. Claws, anchors? Drills? How to go about this... The colony ship was just finished. It first needs to load the new volunteers and goods before it can set out to settle a new world. Without the practical knowledge to do so, there does not appear to be anything psionic about the Imperials as is. The Maltese Principalities Yet another colony is settled for the populous Maltese Principality. Star Trek continues, but there is no end in sight quite yet. Not yet... not yet... What follows is a curiosity. A shipload of Adaptaar migrants turns up in the Maltese immigration office. 3,000 Adaptaar are looking for a new home, a place to practice their religion in peace. It appears there are some heretical issues going on here within the Commonality. The Kalronians on the other hand appear grateful to be left alone. Tension lowers, they do interact more willingly, although still sparsely with the remaining populace. And they get offers from every single one, positive answers. Exchange programs ready to be set up, foreign students flooding in, bringing some knowledge, but also willingness to learn. Oh and a lot of money. (+1 AP from Exchange programs) The Free Human Technocracy With little steps they roll out the old plans and schematics for their kinetic technology, to begin their improvements. The colony ship is finished as the reports come in. Three habitable worlds are found. Two are arid types, the third being a tundra world. The construction on this new FHT stadium begins, ready to host football events from all over the nation. Thulean Republic No resources are found, whils the colonial freighter is finished as planned, ready to settle another world for the Thuleans. United States Of Arcturus Despite it all, the settlement does not discover any resources worth mentioning. With this proceeding, the LC nations show their gratitude, sending a generous fiscal package to the US. (+4 AP this turn only). The four cloak-capable corvettes are ready for battle. Andorra Whilst the colony ship is finished, it has yet to wait a year to gather the people to settle this new world. This year, it appears that there are more Cevelli coming in to begin a new life in another country, another world. Immigration advertisement does pay off in some form after all. Dampening the traces and emissions caused by these ship parts is the right way to go, and the scientists begin to diligent work on the task at hand. With yet another trade station, Andorra's effective trade capacity is increased, allowing more merchants to successfully dock and appraise their wares. Republic Star State of Kanata The shipyard expansion finishes as planned. This new size will allow to build heavier ships. Whilst the shields are installed as planned, the weaponry enters the proposed developement cycle and advances steadily. Asgard Republic A stale year, as nothing new is reported whereever improvements are made. Progress is slow, appears unfocused this year, no project reaching any kind of results or finish. Odd. On the other hand rumors indicate that an old man in a white suit was seen on some excavation sites, talking with the workers there, bringing them drinks and refreshment boxes. Protocol 12. (Skype) ---- Events The Redon Imperium officially demands vassalage from the Silver Knights, also known as the Kingdom of Armathwaite. The Saryn Guardians appear to suffer some kind of internal conflict with machines fighting eachother in space near their systems in the West. Traders report passing by battles, with some ships getting caught in the crossfire, subsequently being destroyed. The Zaxx Empire appears to be in diplomatic tension with its neighbours. A new empire in the West is discovered as a scouting ship of theirs finds various colonies in former corrupter space. They introduce themselves as the Empire of Chupan'Mo. The man in the white suit shows up in some places, according to rumors. ---- Population Imperial Provinces - 980,000 Humans Solar Ascendancy - 565,000 Humans, 70,000 Grgl, 39,000 Tassarans, 30,000 Libellans, 27,000 Human-Tassarans, 8,500 Karass Silver Knight Company - 550,000 Humans, 87,750 Tassareans, 35,000 Backhatta, 40,000 Redons, 26,000 Human-Redons, 26,500 Human-Tassareans, 71,500 Galaron, 7,000 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 9,750 Redon-Tassareans, 2,750 Karass United States of Arcturus - 275,000 Humans, 20,000 Da'nor, 7,000 Human-Tjieran, 18,000 Skellar, 12,000 Libellans, 2,000 Ceri (50,000 Ceri Garrison, 15,000 Ascardian Garrison, 20,000 Da’nor Garrison) Hephaestus Holdings - 905,000 Humans, 145,000 Grgl, 250,000 Tassareans, 65,500 Human-Tassareans, 42,000 Libellans, 40,000 Redons, 40,000 Backhatta, 32,000 Human-Redons, 112,750 Galaron, 18,000 Redon-Tassareans, 13,000 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 25,750 Protorians, 3,000 Karass Free Human Technocracy - 500,000 Humans, 54,500 Da'nor, 28,000 Human-Da'nor People's Council of Utopie - 450,000 Humans, 32,000 Protorians, 40,000 Libellans, 75,000 Grgl, 70,000 Tassareans, 35,000 Human-Tassareans, 25,000 Backhatta, 28,000 Skellar, 63,000 Galaron, 10,000 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 880,500 Humans, 23,500 Ganvians, 36,500 Ceri, 38,500 Tjierans, 68,500 Ascardians, 40,000 Da'nor, 18,500 Human-Tjierans, 23,500 Human-Da'nor, 21,250 Human-Ascardians, 16,000 Tjieran-Ascardians, 13,000 Ascardian-Da'nor, 26,500 Skellar, 25,250 Libellan, 1,500 Tjieran-Da’nor, 1,500 Ar'gakari, 3,000 Adaptaar Han Dominion - 770,000 Humans, 1,500 Ar'gakari Star Republic of Edonia - 450,250 Humans Republic Star State of Kanata - 452,750 Humans Ultima Thule - 200,000 Humans, 27,500 Da'nor, 10,500 Ceri, 13,500 Ascardians, 10,500 Tjierans, 15,000 Redons, 40,250 Krib, 1,500 Human-Da’nor, 1,000 Human-Ascardians, 750 Human-Tjierans, 500 Human-Redons, 1,000 Da’nor-Ascardian, 500 Da’nor-Tjieran, 500 Tjieran-Ascardians Asgard Republic - 441,500 Humans Porton Technocracy - 395,000 Humans, 25,500 Cevelli, 14,000 Ka'cezh, 11,000 Zyrka, 10,000 Ymorian, 8,250 Alduu'uuranean, 40,000 T'jell, 59,000 Krib, 9,000 Human-Cevelli, 4,000 H’Wong Andorra - 330,000 Humans, 16,750 Cevelli, 4,000 Zyrka, 1,750 Ymorians, 1,750 Human-Cevelli, 16,000 Krib, 9,500 H’wong Kingdom of United Systems - 366,750 Humans, 4,000 Tassareans, 7,750 Grgl, 750 Human-Tassareans G.E.N.S. - 500,000 Humans ---- Map ---- Year 2146 by Earth’s Calendar.
  4. It was an endless nightmare for generations. But now, it’s gone. The threat of something engulfing the entire galaxy. A shadow driven from existence, a race purged, with all its flaws, the other races have banded together and decided this particular race did not deserve its existence. The nations of the North withdraw their fleets, return home. Many a soldier does not, but many others do and have future generations living in peace from this terror that once reigned. Uneasy the year is, but full of hope, full of change. And for the while being, the first year of a peaceful Southern Galaxy, after decades of various wars. Republican Systems of Edonia A colossal project, but it shows the ingenuity and power of mankind, as this shipyard reaches completion ready to bolster fleets with new ships. Alike the shipyard, the investments into research will certainly show promise. The targeting computer shows promise, is improved, streamlined, made more efficient, but there is still so much potential left. Itoron-Carbon weave could be a potentially interesting alternative for light combat armor for infantry, the scientists propose. With more investment they could go into dedicated research and development. Studying current detection methods the scientists merely conclude this year with a brainstorming, research phase. Andorra The shipyard is completed as planned, ready for Andorra’s projects. The HIPS and ATM projects continue. (Skype) The investments are welcomed by the populace, results yet to be seen though. Thulean Republic Project Taranis continues as planned. (Skype) On the other hand, all three ships finish construction as intended, prepared to proceed with any orders that may be given. Hephaestus Enterprises The 8th Crusade ends. All trade bonuses affiliated with it, and all trade bonuses for other nations vanish. Commendable. Positive responses from the vast majority of the affected nations follow. This campaign might save Hephaestus some trouble in the future. Industreh. Another trade port looms over Hades, ready to pickup more trade, duh. A response reaches Hephaestus from the Grand Alliance. Republic Star State of Kanata Project Trojan proceeds as planned with the allocated funds. The results are yet to be seen. (Skype) The Affiliation The surveys of the new colonies show no particular deposits of any resources of interest. And alike the surveys, searching former corrupter space yields no results. Ka’cezh salvage ships are seen here and there, some patrolling fleets. They have picked that area of space clean, thoroughly at that. The Cloning facilities begin construction as intended, but it would take a while before they are operational at all. Maltese Principalities You can never have enough Xylorite. Another colony ship is finished for the Maltese people to embark out into the ocean of stars and claim a new world for their fledgling country. Depending on where there the surveys are held, it may find a suitable one. (Skype) The scientists begin disassembling the Disruptor rifles and studying them thoroughly. At some point, they might reach their goal. The phasic riddles continue as well. Star Trek is a good show. (Skype) The Ganvius nation as previously freely allows Maltese merchants in. The LC does not seem to be reluctant either. The Kalronians take it with a bucket of suspicion, but they take what is offered to them. Most of them are cold towards other races, uncomfortable with these “unworthy” beings. United States Of Arcturus The battleship, presumed it’s granted, is being delivered to Arcturus in due time, ready for orders. Stay a while and listen. (Skype) With a lack of current inhabitants, they fail to successfully claim another system for the USA. (Garrison does not count towards your population.) The Kingdom of Unified Systems And another secret project proceeds. (Skype) Kingdom of Armathwaite The banking plans go surprisingly well, with a growing amount of customers. At least in terms of money, they don’t seem to mistrust humans. Or it might be just Armathwaite. (+1 AP per turn from Banking business) Regardless of all effort, she appears to have vanished from the face of this galaxy. The ships are built and ready, the project for the new infantry weaponry rolls on, the upgrade probably much needed to hold up a standard within the galaxy. And secret projects continue their secrecy. (Skype) The Trade Federation Is that a card? (Skype) Given how vastly different operating systems are from race to race and computer to computer, this will be a hard task to accomplish properly. But they continue to give their best at developing in this area. The colony ship is finished as intended, ready to settle new worlds. Despite all efforts, the Trade Federation remains a human nation. Even with all combined effort, there seems to be no trace of Chaal anywhere. The Alduu’uuraneans provide the trade federation with a few star maps, but nothing special is shown. Former Corrupter space is now just swathes of empty star systems, worlds unowned, unconquered. Imperial Republic of Mankind With all effort they do discover a rich deposit of Ribalite in the newly established colony to the West. The world is a savannah world, warm, with a stable climate, not getting overly hot. The other colony is established on a normal terrestrial planet that hasn’t shown any particular features. Novam Domum certainly needs beautification. For long the capital world has been a dreary dark place, industry everywhere, gloomy, rainy. Despite the vast farms and rich greenery, the city itself is mostly a dirt stain. With all these efforts, it might prove positively on any potential tourism. Solar Ascendancy Whilst all projects continue, no resources of interest are found, it feels a lot like most stones got turned over already. Asgard Republic These machines appear to ignore the Asgard ships mostly, but upon being scanned (in a futile attempt, the readings being scrambled) they request to be left alone. On the worlds where the Saryn Guardians are, they seem to mostly repair old equipment and facilities, constructing a new building here or there and building more of their kind, though at a slow rate at this point. This year’s efforts show no result. Os’laran keeps its secrets still. The additional jumpsuits should serve the Asgard military well. Mobility can be powerful when utilized correctly. Any other projects continue unabated. The Free Human Technocracy With research proceeding steadily improving, the expansion of the shipyard concludes by the end of the year as planned. In the uncluttered section of it, they begin building a colony ship in the meantime. The Han Dominion Whilst the Lance project continues on, the shipyard continues to expand, growing slowly but steadily to a new size. ---- Events The Corrupter Dominion is officially defeated. The Corrupters are reported extinct, thorough scans and searches for the whole quarter of the galaxy where they were present, showing no surviving Corrupters. The Northern nations withdraw their forces, finally head home. It was a long and gruesome crusade, the last to be. With a combined total of 5.3 billion soldiers dead, thousands of ships destroyed, the Keerim Imperium agrees to a ceasefire with the Lithruan Coalition, withdrawing any demands or influence they intended to exert over the neighbouring nations. For the while being they seem banished, but it is a ceasefire. A pause for both sides, to arm up for the next conflict. Within the first half of the year, the Redon leads his forces aggressively and successfully into the full occupation of Karass Dominion territory, effectively annexing it, integrating the people into the Imperium. The Backhatta, Galaron and Protorians do request that the Karass are to be masters of their own destiny and be given the freedom to choose. This mutual stance is followed by a treaty of unified interests. The Saryn Guardian Assembly, as this collective of machines proclaims itself establishes minor contact with some nations. On the other hand, led by a Saryn called Margek, a new nation is proclaimed. Or perhaps an old one. The Saryn State, or also Ancient State. Margek requests that they be left in peace, assembling what is left of his people. News have it, that the Ar’gakari have been destroyed by the Darkul. Their worlds bombed out, fully occupied, the Ar’gakari enslaved. At the same time, there are reports that the Zaxx Empire had a diplomatic incident with the Ka’cezh Star Empire. The Kalronians announce publicly they would genocide all unworthy races in the galaxy. ---- Population Imperial Provinces - 880,000 Humans Solar Ascendancy - 500,000 Humans, 58,500 Grgl, 36,000 Tassarans, 28,000 Libellans, 25,000 Human-Tassarans, 7,500 Karass Silver Knight Company - 500,000 Humans, 80,250 Tassareans, 31,500 Backhatta, 37,500 Redons, 24,500 Human-Redons, 24,500 Human-Tassareans, 68,000 Galaron, 6,500 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 8,500 Redon-Tassareans, 2,500 Karass United States of Arcturus - 250,000 Humans, 17,500 Da'nor, 6,500 Human-Tjieran, 15,500 Skellar, 10,500 Libellans, 1,250 Ceri (50,000 Ceri Garrison, 15,000 Ascardian Garrison, 20,000 Da’nor Garrison) Hephaestus Holdings - 860,500 Humans, 130,000 Grgl, 240,000 Tassareans, 62,500 Human-Tassareans, 40,250 Libellans, 38,000 Redons, 38,000 Backhatta, 28,000 Human-Redons, 108,000 Galaron, 16,000 Redon-Tassareans, 12,000 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 24,000 Protorians, 2,500 Karass Free Human Technocracy - 480,000 Humans, 52,000 Da'nor, 25,500 Human-Da'nor People's Council of Utopie - 432,000 Humans, 30,750 Protorians, 37,500 Libellans, 70,250 Grgl, 67,250 Tassareans, 32,500 Human-Tassareans, 22,000 Backhatta, 24,500 Skellar, 60,000 Galaron, 9,500 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 830,750 Humans, 22,250 Ganvians, 34,000 Ceri, 36,000 Tjierans, 64,000 Ascardians, 37,500 Da'nor, 17,000 Human-Tjierans, 21,750 Human-Da'nor, 20,000 Human-Ascardians, 14,750 Tjieran-Ascardians, 11,500 Ascardian-Da'nor, 25,000 Skellar, 23,000 Libellan, 1,250 Tjieran-Da’nor Han Dominion - 703,750 Humans Star Republic of Edonia - 400,250 Humans Republic Star State of Kanata - 401,750 Humans Ultima Thule - 170,250 Humans, 26,000 Da'nor, 9,500 Ceri, 12,500 Ascardians, 9,000 Tjierans, 14,250 Redons, 34,750 Krib, 1,250 Human-Da’nor, 750 Human-Ascardians, 500 Human-Tjierans, 250 Human-Redons, 750 Da’nor-Ascardian, 250 Da’nor-Tjieran, 250 Tjieran-Ascardians Asgard Republic - 382,750 Humans Porton Technocracy - 355,000 Humans, 23,000 Cevelli, 12,500 Ka'cezh, 10,000 Zyrka, 9,750 Ymorian, 6,750 Alduu'uuranean, 37,000 T'jell, 55,000 Krib, 8,000 Human-Cevelli, 3,500 H’Wong Andorra - 304,750 Humans, 10,500 Cevelli, 2,750 Zyrka, 1,500 Ymorians, 1,500 Human-Cevelli, 12,000 Krib, 9,000 H’wong Kingdom of United Systems - 334,500 Humans, 2,750 Tassareans, 3,500 Grgl, 250 Human-Tassareans G.E.N.S. - 360,000 Humans ---- Map In work, as usual, will be done sometime soon. 5. What about the Almannir (ie, Stafyrs, Hanethors if they are still around, are Almannir)? In perspective, the Almannir (that speak straight up German) are closely related to Hansetian per say, Rhinelandic comparably.
  6. All stands under the banner of what we would call communism. On the world of the Sarrif, Sarrifon itself, the communists have won the world war, effectively installing puppet regimes, governments or loyal people in all nations, annexing others. With a new drive of unity, so to speak, progressing of removing all traces of capitalism, monarchies and other symbols that oppose their ideology. A concept that appears to work quite well for the Sarrif as it stands. Who knows what the future will hold for them, little do they know what lies beyond, meddling on their world, under watchful Imperial eyes. Republic Star State of Kanata Can he build it? Like both of those things? [Skype] United States Of Arcturus A colony ship is completed and the Arcturians are eager to set out, capturing their manifest destiny in the stars! Resources are allocated to be used at the discretion of the Arbiter of the Dominion of Man. The Stealth Corvettes are completed and added to the fleet by the end of the year. More resources to the Han Shipyard. The Trade Federation Project TAROT & Mendicant continue [Skype] A loan is delivered to the Han Dominion and the Thulean Republic. After a year of intense construction, the Nexus grows even greater in size and scope. The trade federation is truly a testament to the nature of the ingenuity of humankind, and certainly puts the willingness of humanity to conduct and navigate through commerce. Additionally, more orbital defense platforms are constructed. The Quantum Anchor is completed, however given that fitting Crusading Nations with a beacon would be an even more trying endeavour than actually building the anchor. Needless to say, the Ka’cezh ships, all equipped with their own Quantum drives, graciously decline the offer. It’s something that is not done within one year per say. The TF remains a human nation in the eyes of many, regardless if their leadership changes. The museum does become a strange attraction though, people from the Northern galaxy visiting it, staying for a bit, leaving again. It’s a bit of tourism at least. Mercenary companies do not seem to inclined to establish themselves at the TF at this moment. Asgard Republic Reconstruction aid from Asgard flows to the P.A.R. The city turns out to be called Os’laran, as excavators find a old records in a half buried townhall. Some odd old personal objects are found in the ruins, toys, tools, remains of books, a half broken data pad, that appeared to contain fragments of music files. It’s a huge undertaking with very little results so far. A difficult subject, first they would need a real example of cloak. They try to proceed on improving the accuracy nonetheless. Nothing of interest is found west of the capital. Distantium continues on. [Skype] Progress on the Asgardian Trade Station continues. The Ares II is not quite the item to be upsized it seems. Many complications prove that, so they have to invest more time and effort into developing a viable ship weapon from the handheld rifle. Kingdom of Armathwaite/Silver Knight Corporation Given the position of Armathwaite the Banking business seems to go well, the capital market growing on the world, with outside money flowing in from other nations. Soon an Ascardian and a Grgl bank open business on the capital world. Six Corvettes are produced for the Royal Navy of Armathwaite. At the end of this project, the shipyard undergoes upgrades that make it capable of producing ships of the heavy cruiser and carrier variety. Secret business again, eh? [Skype] The Han Dominion The loan is paid back in full to the Alduu’uuranean Mercenary Company who express thanks to their contractors for the opportunity to use their fleet. The Big [GTFO Loan] Payback. “Render unto the Arbiter what is the Arbiter’s”. Project LANCE. [Skype] [REDACTED] Trade is cut off to the Lithruan Coalition. Not a single reply is given by the LC themselves. They appear not to care in the slightest. A Colony in the southwestern sector is established. Immediately upon setting down on the target world, scanner strike out, revealing massive lifeforms moving in the earth. HEPHAESTUS ENTERPRISES With a massive investment into the debts of the Han Dominion, the Corporation has now essentially footed the bill for the destruction of the Holy Kingdom of Eadn. In exchange though, they get a very fancy new battleship. A good trade off? The mining continues to expand, INDUSTREH. Margek is nowhere to be found. Before they can grasp hold of him when he was on Hades, he was already up and left somewhere. He commandeered a Grgl’s small private freighter, much to the dismay of the bereaved. The Arbiter of the Dominion of Man & The Affiliation Fighter and Bomber projects left right and center. [Skype] Apprentices go on Vacation? Not long after making a purchase, the L.S.A.A. arrives in system to fit the ships of The Affiliation with Model III Houston Guns. They make do rather quickly, finishing with the project by the end of the year. A boat is completed as is the planned destroyer. The resources reach the technocracy without issue. Unfortunately, one of the colony ships reaches its destination to find out it’s populated by a small group of machines, that appear to belong to something called the Saryn Guardian Assembly. Instead they find a world covered in endless seas of grass with little forests and some oceans in a nearby sector and settle there. The other colony is set up on a harsh glacial world. G.E.N.S Project Infinity goes infinitely. Project Repairers goes to repair. [Skype both.] The Free Human Technocracy In an embarrassing act of defeat, the Free Human Technocracy surrenders several of its assets to the Thulean Republic. Many in the F.H.T. feel betrayed by their government, and some protests flare up. Nothing too dangerous though. L.S.A.A. moves quickly to begin working on the defense station with about half of the framework being completed by the end of the year. It would be quite a marvel once completed though. Starting from scratch, the kinetic weapons endeavours would take quite a bit of time, but none the less they continue. 10,000 clones are additionally produced. The Kingdom of Unified Systems [Redacted] More of that. The Kingdom of Unified Systems embraces its new overlords while also improving its agricultural capacity and fleet with a mighty… corvette. Imperial Provinces Reparations are paid to the victors, but the Imperium lives on to fight another day. An example of that fighting spirit can be seen in the fervent nature of the construction of the Imperium’s latest colony ship. Can he fix it? [Skype] Republican Systems of Edonia The construction of a massive shipyard begins over Feldspar. An ambitious endeavour, certainly, but one that Edonia can handle in this time of uneasy peace. Alike their former colleagues on Asgard, they continue development on Distantium. Project Longshot and the production of the MK II Fulmine begin. On smaller ships with smaller weapons systems, the targeting computer works brilliantly. In comparison with not utilizing the computers, ballistics see a nearly 45% increase in hitting the target, and a 10% increase in landing a direct hit. Though maybe not satisfactory to the scientists, this a certainly a good leap forward. Struggles still continue with the larger guns, with ships larger than light cruisers only seeing an increase in accuracy of about 12% and direct hit effectiveness negligible. Resilience or swiftness. On corvettes it might actually prove pointless, given that after a certain point in weight, their agility reduces drastically, needing bigger thrusters, more power, and so forth, which in the end bring them up into bigger ship classes. Whilst restructuring the hull is possible, just slapping more armor onto it, is not viable. Project Bob the Builder. Can he fix it? [Skype] Solar Ascendancy With the loss of the Onyx Colony, the Solar Ascendancy loses a fair amount of resources [-1 Sector AP]. Given the nature of the conflict and the use of foreign troops, the Sovereign faces mostly hatred and resentment from those surrounding her and the people. The memory of liberty never fades from those once ruled by it, and insurrection in the form of open protest and small ‘terrorist’ attacks occur sporadically throughout the year. A tumultuous couple of years looms on the horizon for the new regime. Those citizens looking to take advantage of the new order, mostly large corporate executives, join the council established by the sovereign. Many do not join out of interest to help the Ascendancy though, most just want to know how they can profit off of the tyranny of the Sovereign. The colony ship is constructed in short order. Project EVE and Project Swarm continue on. No resources are found this time in any of the sectors searched. Thulean Republic The trade station is finished as planned, expanding the potential trade capacity of the Republic. Despite it all, immigration levels barely change. The migration seems to have gone a bit slow if it comes to moving to Human worlds. Taranis sounds like a world in Starcraft. [Skype] The psionic studies continue on, but no results are shown quite yet. On the other hand, the two ships are finished as planned. Maltese Principalities The colony ship sets out to settle another world for Malta. The world they find is a rugged alpine world. With deposits of Xylorite. The projects continue as planned. [Skype] ---- Events All over the Southern galaxy are reports coming in. Old facilities, some uncovered, others not seen before, robots of old build activating, assembling, proceeding to build ships and warp capable vehicle to start journeys to distinct places. These individual groups of Firstborn robots do not interact with anyone, at most bid them not to interfere. This appears to be the rule at first, when halfway into the year, a communique is sent all across the galaxy. A collective of sentient machines, calling themselves Saryn Guardian Assembly introduces itself. It calls for peace and prosperity, with the express desire to be left alone. According to rumors, Chaal has been abducted by a Tjieran terrorist group that calls itselves the Fist of Tjol Demak. They are a known organization that advocate Tjieran supremacy and call all other races inferior, with the opinion they are to be enslaved or exterminated. They have not been very present to the public, given the Tjieran Principate has been quite successful at hunting them down. The Firstborn Margek is seen here and there and everywhere. At the latest, he appeared to have acquired a Heavy Cruiser of Firstborn design, en route to Malta, just to return later. Since then he was cruising through LC domain, closely followed but not trifled with, headed West. His current destination and intentions appear unknown. The Darkul score crushing victories against the Ar’gakari, the nation fleeing from more systems, desparately fighting against this mighty invasion fleet. The LC and Keerim continue their heavy engagements, no side gaining any ground. The losses of the LC have reached a billion by now. They estimate the Keerim having lost almost two billion soldiers. In the meantime, they expand their vast garrisons on the US homeworld. The Corrupter Dominion is losing coreworlds left and right, as the Northern nations keep cleansing worlds. They uncover one or the other nasty truth. One being an old facility, of unknown design ((Not Saryn/Firstborn)) that held breeding tanks for Corrupters and was home to a big bloated being, that appeared not to communicate, but create Corrupters, pure Corrupters. Some of these seemed to belong to the Corrupter Terror Units, capable of actively cloaking themselves without equipment. With the onset of the new year, in a massive swift operation, the mobilized Redon forces start sweeping into the fractured Karass Dominion. Within one year they occupy half of their territory, crushing any resistance utterly, officially annexing and integrating the former worlds into the Redon Imperium. Whilst it is seen with dismay by some of the Karass, many of their people actually seem to cheer upon being freed by the Redons. Whatever the cause, if the Redons effectively integrate all of the Karass’ domain, their people and resources, they become vastly more powerful than they already are. ---- Population Imperial Provinces - 786,500 Humans Solar Ascendancy - 410,000 Humans, 51,500 Grgl, 31,000 Tassarans, 25,250 Libellans, 22,000 Human-Tassarans, 2,500 Karass Silver Knight Company - 468,000 Humans, 73,750 Tassareans, 29,750 Backhatta, 35,000 Redons, 22,500 Human-Redons, 22,500 Human-Tassareans, 64,750 Galaron, 5,750 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 8,000 Redon-Tassareans, 2,000 Karass United States of Arcturus - 223,500 Humans, 16,000 Da'nor, 6,000 Human-Tjieran, 12,500 Skellar, 9,000 Libellans (40,000 Ceri Garrison, 35,000 Ascardian Garrison, 55,000 Tjieran Garrison, 15,000 Da’nor Garrison) Hephaestus Holdings - 836,500 Humans, 115,500 Grgl, 223,000 Tassareans, 58,000 Human-Tassareans, 37,000 Libellans, 35,000 Redons, 32,000 Backhatta, 25,000 Human-Redons, 96,000 Galaron, 14,000 Redon-Tassareans, 10,500 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 23,000 Protorians, 1,500 Karass Free Human Technocracy - 453,500 Humans, 50,000 Da'nor, 24,000 Human-Da'nor People's Council of Utopie - 416,000 Humans, 29,000 Protorians, 34,500 Libellans, 65,750 Grgl, 65,000 Tassareans, 31,000 Human-Tassareans, 20,000 Backhatta, 21,500 Skellar, 56,500 Galaron, 9,000 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 801,500 Humans, 20,000 Ganvians, 30,500 Ceri, 33,000 Tjierans, 62,000 Ascardians, 34,500 Da'nor, 15,500 Human-Tjierans, 19,000 Human-Da'nor, 18,500 Human-Ascardians, 14,000 Tjieran-Ascardians, 10,500 Ascardian-Da'nor, 22,000 Skellar, 19,000 Libellan, 750 Tjieran-Da’nor Han Dominion - 661,500 Humans Star Republic of Edonia - 378,000 Humans Republic Star State of Kanata - 381,500 Humans Ultima Thule - 158,750 Humans, 23,750 Da'nor, 8,500 Ceri, 11,000 Ascardians, 8,500 Tjierans, 13,000 Redons, 28,500 Krib Asgard Republic - 361,500 Humans Porton Technocracy - 322,500 Humans, 20,000 Cevelli, 11,500 Ka'cezh, 9,500 Zyrka, 8,750 Ymorian, 6,000 Alduu'uuranean, 11,000 T'jell, 30,000 Krib, 7,000 Human-Cevelli, 3,000 H’Wong Andorra - 284,500 Humans, 7,000 Cevelli, 750 Zyrka, 750 Ymorians, 750 Human-Cevelli Kingdom of United Systems - 304,000 Humans, 750 Tassareans, 750 Grgl G.E.N.S. - 321,000 Humans ---- Map Update ---- Year 2144 by Earth’s Calendar.
  7. A decisive year, one could say. Powers shifting. Wars ending. Nations perishing, perhaps? Whilst the massacre of the PAR takes place, and the Eadni vanish from sight, a bigger event garners the attention of the entire galaxy. The 8th Crusade. Massive battles everywhere, the Corrupters bringing up more resistance than anticipated, but are no match for the combined might of the Northern Galaxy. It has to be said though it is a fateful year, as two advance detachments of two different fleets, one a Cevelli-Ymoria fleet sent from the North, the other a Ka’cezh warfleet coming from the South meet. Corrupter space is traversible at last it seems. At least for warfleets. ---- The Kingdom of Unified Systems REDACTED [Skype] Despite all efforts, given the current situation and reputation of mankind, the advertisement campaigns for potential immigrants yield meagre or no results at all. The new material, determined to be Itoron, continues to prove resilient in all forms of durability testing. One rather quirky scientist has the bright idea to form an alloy between this new metal, Itoron, and an Earth based metal, Steel. This alloy actually proves even more durable than just the new material, Itoron, on its own. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta Another colonial vessel enters the service of the Maltese order with thousands of humans and aliens alike clamoring to climb aboard the vessel. While this new ship is being prepared, two ships already at capacity set out to settle two brave new worlds for the Order! Another Xylorite Mine is constructed for the cause of the Order, dramatically increasing their production capacity. Star Trek, MD Device [Let’s take this to Skype ;)] The Maltese resort continues to grow, its luxurious amenities attracting various visitors. The task for a planet-wide shield is overwhelming, the Ganvius engineers blunty state. They require immense amounts of resources to build it in the first place, and then maintain it. Whilst they are able to construct a shield generator for a structure as big as the House of Malta, a whole planet was a different story. G.E.N.S Project Infinity [Skype] Space Excavation begins, most of which is centered around the Itoron mine located on their Gamma planet. Excavating in such large quantities makes this metal even more readily available for ships or other things that the nation might require. Asgard Republic The Asgarder Refugee Settlement program sees a lot of early success as victims of the recently concluded Southern wars flock to the planet Vanaheim to begin anew. Immigration certainly increases for the Asgardians, however whether or not these new settlers respect the modes and orders of Asgard remains to be seen. And indeed, on a planet in the sector south of the capital, they do find a deposit of Itoron. 1,000 Ares II Laser Rifles come off the production line by the end of the year without issue. This effort is fueled mostly by the increase in Xylorite production, which has seen a significant uptick as a result of the new mine on Vanaheim. The same Xylorite helps in part during the construction of the new trade station which will require significant investment. A new Destroyer is deployed to the Asgardian Fleet. Progress on the improvement of sensors continues as the Asgardians become more capable of detecting ships several systems away from the location of that sensor. From the homeworld, several systems in its vicinity can be scanned however an entire sector is still an ambitious initiative. The Han Dominion Project Lance [Skype] The shipyard reaches the capacity to construct Carriers and Heavy Cruisers [10/10 to SL 4, 1/20]. In that shipyard, a colony ship is turned out while construction continues around it. [REDACTED, in SKYPE] The Han colony is established for the greater glory of the Rice Field God. United States Of Arcturus Skype. The Trade Federation Project TAROT [Skype] Project MENDICANT begins, initiating a wave of new innovations in the field of both offensive and defensive computer science. Though most systems are quickly protected from more civilian attempts to access critical systems, the defenses of the Federation will still need some suring up from more coordinated attacks. Likewise, the offensive abilities of the Federation are sure enough to defeat most civilian or poorly defend targets. By the end of the year, most of the station is successfully fitted with Itoron, making it less vulnerable to attack than other softer targets. The defensive stations are also started, though they will require some more investment. The Han receives resources. The massive and energy consuming scanner proceeds its duties… and is well capable of identifying most stellar objects and their general composition in range. Though scanning so much took a very very long time. By the end of the year, they do deduce that at least a deposit of Itoron is to be found east of the capital sector. Little is gained from the ventures into the South. The Galaron are skeptical and see no gain in such an endeavour, an opinion the Backhatta share. The Ganvius are too far away and prefer trading with their immediate neighbours. The Karass are simply fractured, the entire Dominion territory a zone that should be avoided. The Kalronian Ystor Rule does not reply. The Affiliation A Colony Ship is produced by the end of the turn with hundreds of eager private farmers and several large agricultural conglomerates taking interest in where this ship might be headed! The Gunslingers are formed, their purpose clear, so it is assumed. ((If you need anything specific in that regard, do tell.)) Tri-Phased Shielding upgrades take place on most ships, with nothing special occurring in that sense. Robotics Advancements continue [Skype for discussion, if required]. Given the circumstances… aliens are… to say the least, discouraged from coming to most any human colony at the moment. Republican Systems of Edonia A beautiful new TRADEport is completed in orbit of the planet Feldspar, looming large over the planet. It is ready to accept new wares for the Republican Systems of Edonia! One of the coders seems to make, well, a huge mistake. In an attempt to correct a targeting algorithm, he instead sets back the entire system. Much of the progress is recovered by the end of the year, but the Edonians find their targeting system in much the same place as the end of 2142. This may not be as easy as they thought… Given the dissolution of the THC, it is unlikely such fittings would be possible. ((Discuss this with players and me.)) A draft begins with little resistance, given the amount of uneasiness in the galaxy at this point. United Canadian Front A trading outpost is started and finished, allowing for the expansion of trade partnerships with new nations. Free Market Capitalists all over the UCF rejoice! The UCF armed forces undergo a vigorous year of training, pushing them quite literally to the limit. By the end of it though, the mechanized divisions are extremely well equipped for conventional warfare and have gained a high degree of familiarity with the ATC-70. Hephaestus Enterprises The expansion of the Han Dominion Shipyard occurs at the expense of the mega corporation. Glory to the Han? Massive mines are established, and several ambitious bosses make it rich in the Woolongong Itoron Rush of 2142. The Institute reveals something extraordinary. [Skype] The Great Colonial Exchange of 2142 occurs without issue. A few angry farmers don’t want to leave, but they’re either quickly convinced by large sums of Hephaestus CASH or are forced out by P.A.R. officials wary of causing any more undue trouble in this tumultuous galaxy. Peaches are good. [Skype] Kingdom of Armathwaite/Silver Knight Corporation The Bank of Armathwaite is established. Though not yet garnering much interest, the foundations have certainly been set for something truly remarkable. Wounding the establishment of this bank though, especially on a galactic scale, is a general lack in confidence of humans in the aftermath of the Eadni War. Secrets. Shadowy, Shadowy, Shadowy secrets. With the hammered out agreement and the final onset of peace, the trade does not wait long, before it flows past Amathwaite, richly. A trade center for East-West, North-South (within the Southern galaxy, mind you), constantly growing, wealth without end, one would imagine. Imperial Republic of Mankind Tragically, the Battleship produced by Eadn quickly meets its end in the battle of Utopie. Thousands of lost lives, billions in lost cash. A Destroyer is constructed and delivered to the Trade Federation. THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN Nothing here, but empty worlds and cities, leaving nothing behind, just to be occupied by Redon forces, thoroughly overtaking everything, planting new banners. The Free Human Technocracy The Cruiser built by the HKE, like the Battleship built for the IRM, meets a swift end in the Eadni War. Orbital defenses are constructed, widely considered a very necessary thing given the nature of Human affairs at the moment. Every scouting attempt gets intercepted and destroyed by Kalronian vessels, who show a distinctive dislike for people sneaking by. ---- Events The Corrupter Dominion is due to perish in the next two years, as expected by the Ka’cezh. The war against the Keerim grinds to a standstill, the LC is unable to gain a foothold in their territory after a failed offensive. The Ar’gakari are forced to retreat from a series of sectors, buckling under the continous assault of the Darkul warfleet. Reports indicate the Redon Imperium is arming the majority of its forces. Nobody understands why, but warriors from all their worlds are called in. It appears the Redon’s hammer will be swung soon. A Firstborn named Margek makes his appearance on Hephaestus, to stay briefly, heading for Proteum Davun next. It is there, so it is reported, he meets with Chaal. 9. Stay active. I will place you now. SL3, two tiles, 300,000 cloned people, 1 colony ship, Itoron mine, Laser weaponry, 25 AP into industry. Three destroyers, four frigates.
  10. Whilst one war went into a truce and peace talks, another into a resting phase, the 8th crusade continued unabated, North and South. The Corrupter fleets were destroyed for the most part, broken under the thundering fist of the Ka'cezh Star Empire and their Northern allies. Planet after planet, system after system, sector after sector, Corrupters retreat or perish. Relentless. Losses in the billions, but on they continue, pushing the menace out of worlds that have been theirs for decades. Unveiling ruins and remnants of fallen civilizations, some prosperous, some poor, some highly advanced, some primitive, all incapable of withstanding the onslaught of the Corrupters back then. No more, it seems though. But every success comes with a price. In a glorious engagement, after being ambushed, the Ka'cezh Lord of Stars Dyron of Ka'caz dies with 35 of his 40 ships and their crews after being ambushed by a remnant Corrupter fleet of about fifty ships. Whilst they do destroy every last one of their foes, the battleship with Dyron in command gets torn apart by heavy fire from the Corrupter capital ships. In the end, it would just be another note in the long history of the Corrupters and the Milky Way. United States Of Arcturus Project Infallible continues while resources move to the Han Dominion to be used at their discretion. The Han and USA also successfully establish their cooperation center without any sort of issue. Hephaestus receives the resources and 15,000 Defender Droids are produced without issue, assuming Hephaestus honors the agreement. Whatever the Darkul are exporting seems to be clean and properly sterilized and packaged. Once in a while a little bacteria or fungi makes it along, but nothing that the modern medicine of these days can deal with. The Trade Federation With the removal of the taxation, the Northern nations do resume to direct their trade through the Trade Federation. Their conditions clearly state, it should remain a tax-free port. Given that they are still leaving a lot of wealth behind, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. (2 AP from Tax-Free Port of the Northern Nations). Though many question the decision to build such a station, the new trade station is completed without issue. In better news though, the C.A.C. reaches its end and immediately becomes a landmark in the GTC. Tourists flock from all over to see the new monument to human trade power. THEIA continues. Completely unbeknownst, the Ka’cezh appear to have pulled some strings and used their might and influence in the North and granted the Trade Federation the title of “Bridge of North and South”. All trade that proceeds from the North towards the South and vice versa, should be funneled through this tradeport. Centralized, rich and well guarded by the might of the Ka’cezh Star Empire. (4 AP from North-South Tradeport) (Hint: This should integrate with your planned tradeport structure/highways) Asgard Republic Asgardian mining companies find a good amount of success in replicating the widely practiced methods of Xylorite extraction, though it certainly would not hurt to ask for help elsewhere. Jumpsuit research continues as planned, the thrusters have nearly been perfected and far less incidents are occurring during use. The only hurdle left to overcome appears to be stabilization as the thrusters make the suit incredibly wobbly and difficult to maintain a consistent firing pattern. The shielding research does not have much of a base to get started on, and as such progress moves rather slowly. The shielding technology gifted from Hephaestus, though generous, proves incredibly primitive and a hefty amount of resources will be required to make them worthwhile. The concept of Disruptor technology needs to be unveiled first, and that requires thorough research into energy mechanics. This project to develop such weaponry will take extensive investments and time. The frigate in the Asgarder shipyard is completed by the end of the year without issue, bolstering their fleet. Thulean Republic No matter how many psionics are to sign up, only two dozen prove themselves to be outstanding users above the others. With alignments that do range from tremor to fury, these individuals are clearly capable of more than just lifting a cup or pushing a chair. The colonization efforts of the Thulean Republic goes without issue and a rather small but prosperous mining colony is established. This mining colony finishes right around the same time that the shipyard does. A good number of highly patriotic soldiers join the Thulean military. Many of these men and women descend from families who were either annihilated or barely survived the war, so they serve with an especially patriotic fervour. The refitting of the troops also does well for their morale. The Kingdom of Unified Systems New innovations in the medical field see an increased rate of survival among trauma patients, and people in the KUS seem to live longer. Those in military service of the KUS would also see their death rates drop as these technologies improve the likelihood of surviving injury significantly. These technologies should also fit nicely in the arsenal of the KUS Humanitarian Service. Itoron proves to be useful for appliances where the materials tend to suffer under great stress. Given Itoron’s remarkable resilience, specifically as an alloy when combined with regular Steel, it surely proves beneficial in civilian and especially military pursuits. The small freighter enters service of the KUS by the end of the year. People's Agrarian Republic The colony ship is completed by the end of the year without issue. Farms. Biodomes. Ranches. Breeding pens. Food produce without end might be the goal, an Utopia of crops, feeding thousands, if not millions. And it continues to grow with the investments pursued. THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN Without further ado, the Xie are consumed by a system of oppression, shattered in all winds, individuals in an ocean of mindless drones. The Light Cruiser and Colonial freighter are finished as planned. With additional investments, the industry roars and thunders ahead, growing by the day. The scouting of the Northern sectors yields no particularly interesting results. Star Republic of Edonia The two destroyers are completed without issue by the end of the year, bolstering the Edonian fleet and raising morale of the young Republic. Though the concept of the shell seems promising in the planning stage, practical use against ships utilizing shielding technology would prove them rather ineffective. The shells would merely bounce of the shields, exploding on impact and doing relatively little to no harm on the target ship. This weapon, now complete, may be a more capable secondary round after the shields have been taken out, for it proves very effective once shields are down. And more rifles are being built, arming another 2,500 men. The Ganvius themselves, whilst they wish the best for the pursuit of developing this new technology are unwilling to give away their technological knowledge, for the sake of their own position and much more. Additional capacitators don’t appear to permit a third layer to be established, merely increasing the density of the shield, where it appears to become unstable, due to having too much innate energy, exploding upon being struck heavily by an object. Hephaestus Enterprises Negotiations begin on the planet of Hades. The droids reach the USA without issue. Thanks to capitalistic ideas and how economics work, the colony ship is finished, despite less resources being assigned than usual. Pok: Free Market capitalism, baby! Czar: CAPATALASM, HO. Jim Bean’s investments into the Auroran science institutions provide them with a significant amount of resources to conduct studies on whatever they so desire, making them an incredibly potent tool for Mr. Bean to develop whatever it is he desires. Shifting the light frequency slightly, by placing a specialized lens in front of a channeling beam, an engineer happens to increase the laser weaponry’s power by an average of 30%! It’s not on Redon level, but it’s a step up, absolutely. Three destroyers are deployed to the Hephaestus fleet without issue. The Han Dominion REDACTED. Andorra And indeed, they manage to develop a mesh with Itoron woven into it, that seems to reduce the amount of signatures emitted by the ship itself. Against long-range sensors it might help. [Andorra gets +1 AP next turn, they don’t need to spend AP to refit] The corvette is completed, equipped with the armor that utilizes the new kinds of alloys. As if it was an attachment of the Trade Federation, many nations declare their willingness to trade with Andorra. The trade outpost is completed above Terra, allowing the Solarins to expand their trading operations. All member nations of the LC, are willing to conduct more trade with the Solarin Federation. They are willing to buy any resources at this point in time, as their fight against the Keerim continues. Rond Trazur attends the Hades peace summit. United Canadian Front Project Goliath! Two thousand suits are completed by the end of the year, significantly bolstering the capabilities of the UCF military. The destroyer is also completed. Free Human Technocracy The first artificial high-performance circulatory system is developed, from Heart to veins and arteries. Stay a while and listen. (Skype) The tropical resorts are constructed on Tropico, attracting a large amount of tourists, however not many permanent settlers. This certainly bolsters their business capabilities though. 5,000 Clones are completed by year’s end, ready to serve the FHT. The LC has invested a lot of manpower and resources into this somewhat successful offensive, now reinforcing their positions, rearming, resupplying and repairing. The peace talks are to start this year, with all parties present at Hades now. In the Carina Galaxy, a massive armada of Darkul war ships has gathered close to the single trade port there. Their purpose unknown, but the sheer amount of ships and supplies do indicate something. Dire tidings from the Corrupter war. The Lord of Stars has died, his ship getting destroyed in a fierce battle with a remnant fleet of the Corrupters. With Dyron dead, his son Halron of Ka’caz assumes rulership of the Ka’cezh Star Empire. He publicly announced to continue the ongoing and quite successful 8th crusade, that has cleansed a great part of the sectors originally “infested” by them. ---- Map Update Remember the google doc, I definitely need to do this. 11. The People's Agrarian Republic The resources sent to the Eadni for the construction of a new Battleship are put to use by the Holy Kingdom’s workers, building an incredibly capable ship for the P.A.R’s new fleet. It is not equipped with any special Eadni weapons, instead acting as a bare-bones model, easily modifiable for the P.A.R. The colony ship proves difficult to modify, however after almost a year in the P.A.R’s shipyard, the colony ship rises complete and ready for action. The boat is also complete. Another 100 strike suit fighter mechs are completed. The resources are sent to the GTC, allowing them to seek out northern doctors. The obtained crops do not appear to be remarkable in any way, common grain crops the Kalronians use to produce bread and other dough-related products it seems. The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon Haephestus receives the money and resources required to make such improvements. Several smaller Northern practices volunteer to send their doctors with H’Wong and Cynn sending the majority. Project THEIA continues under GTC investment. Quite the reverse situation appears, as the Zyrka withdraw their support upon the tax being imposed. Zyrka Engineering claims they would look for alternative approaches. (Zyrka investments lost) The Central Administrative Complex, a truly incredibly feat of post-Earthly architecture and engineering, nears completion. It should not require too much further investment to complete, it just needs some finishing touches. Victoria’s shipyard churns out its first ship, the freighter. The slow and humble snail people called the Krib, do indeed head south, a dozen civilian ships soon heading there. Despite all efforts, the Darkul show little interest, exchange few words, not intent to learn any language that is not their own. The merchants that show up on the station in the Carina galaxy all use gestures for the most part. Quite contrary, Ymoria withdraws any support for the GTFO. With the withdrawal of much support and traffic of the Northern Nations, the influx of resources dies down substantially (1 AP only from 8th crusade now). All resources, regardless if they are Itoron, Xylorite or else, are being declared military property and kept away from any potential taxation. THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN Seeing their allies in this war, the Karass Queen actually agrees to the establishment of these mutual embassies. They are to be setup post haste, the Eadni being located in the west administrative complex of the Dominion palace. The test commences. The Eadni battleships is constructed as planned and sent off. Not a single word leaves the colony, the material remaining in existence, literally unconvinced by any attempt to move it, bend it, break it, manipulate it in any way or form, catch it or else. It remains there. The scientists are very confused. Holes in space, they call it. And thus new factories spring up, ready to produce what the kingdom and its soldiers need for the battles to come. Star Republic of Edonia The three Nelson-Class frigates help the Star Republic supplant some of its losses from an earlier conflict. They are built with a sense of patriotic fervour. The authoritarian regime of the former U.C.I. is eliminated ruthlessly by the new order, implementing a democratic government for and by the people. [Democracy buffs in, Authoritarian out]. Aliens take note of the new open-door policy of the Star Republic, though for now no new alien immigrants come in. The clue as with any shell is, that shells that do pierce armor, sometimes are propelled at such high velocities, that they pierce the other side as well and then explode outside the actual supposed target. Contact explosive shells though with shrapnel effect do have some potential for unintentional point defense, or damaging smaller outlying systems. Planetary bombardment might also profit from such a shell. Disassembling one of the phasic weapons turns out that they are actual just energy weapons, that utilize a different type of energy. They don’t use any other materials, they use Xylorite energy cells, their technological makeup is similar to laser rifles or disruptor rifles. But how to gain weaponized phasic energy emitted is unbeknownst and there are no clues in the weapon leading to it. The humanitarian aid sent to the federation would do well to benefit the Solarin recovery efforts. The people of the Solarin are extremely grateful and praise the new republic’s efforts. The armors are converted, the corvette is sent to the GTC, and the 1500 laser rifles are completed. The Ganvius are always willing to take a trade deal. Depends mostly on the specifics of such. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta Tjierans seem incredibly grateful for this prioritizing of their needs, and many from Malta come in mass to live on the planet. Though its effects are not yet felt in a significant increase in their population, potential migrants are certainly interested in making the move. Meanwhile, the habitable colony is successfully established with no real difficulty. To go where noone has gone before. The Frigate and destroyer are completed. The captured Kalronians don’t show any misconduct, they stick to any given schedule, do as asked. Cold are their gazes nonetheless, as they observe their captors. United States Of Arcturus Three corvettes are completed and a significant amount of resources are poured into Project Infallible. In the meantime, President Hughes is successfully transported to the Solarins without issue. The Kingdom of Unified Systems And indeed, they are successful at finding a strange black ore on Zukaden II. According to the knowledge obtained in the brief time of contact with the rest of the galactic community, it’s a very commonly used metal, called Itoron. Known for it’s resilience and hardness, it will certainly prove good to have. The search on the other system returns to particularly interesting yields. Contact is established, and quite quickly. Considering the past interactions between the nations, language poses absolutely no barrier for any race that contacts the KUS. In one of the systems, new farmlands are being claimed, and set up to host the new fields to feed the people of the KUS. The Solarin Federation Whilst the Grgl do send assistance for such a memorial, the Libellans and Tassaran kindly decline, whilst regretting the death of these people, their own nations are devastated by warfare, with the former suffering under Keerim genocides on dozens of worlds. The research that is conducted does not yield any results for the Warp drive yet, but instead a first functional forceblade that uses disruptor energy is being built. Whilst it is unable to stay powered for extended periods of time, in quick combat situation it might turn out to be quite the boon. Curtailing the freedom of opinion might not be very… pleasing to many people, but in times like these, the population certainly agrees upon the need for it. Still, parents are concerned that their children are being trained to be soldiers. The Han Dominion The trade station is finished as planned, extending Han’s capacities to trade effectively by a lot. Andorra Signature dampening is the first step to an effective cloak, so the scientists claim and get to work. No results to speak of yet, but they are working in a right direction now. So they settle this new world. The metal they soon mine from the planet turns out to be a very resilient and hard material, that alloys very well with iron (steel), and outperforms Titanium for space constructions and other appliances. In sight of the contact, a ship that passes by, actually hails them in a human language, English. A Hephaestus trader on his way to the GTFO, which is a neighbouring human colony. With a brief exchange, they do give the government of Andorra all knowledge they need about the current galaxy and the situation. Hephaestus Enterprises The new trade station is finished as planned. The lances are being optimized, energy consumption actually going down with the introduction of a new energy transfer system devised by a Backhatta scientist. And they buy and acquire. And lose. The Auroran economy, whilst it is possible to integrate them, introducing new currencies, and so forth, does not appear to be just buyable. They retaliate and outmaneuver Hephaestus representatives in every thinkable way, actually gaining a foothold in the markets on Hephaestus worlds. Auroran products show high quality, their business people being led and assisted by a group of extraordinarily smart people. The expansion of the Auroran academies continues as planned. Perhaps one day the galaxy’s smartest people will receive an education here. More Itoron. Two sectors west both hold Itoron rich worlds. Deciphering the tablet turns out to be a difficult task. There appears nobody who really knows the language, even Protorians are unfamiliar with the symbols and letters on it. Kingdom of Armathwaite/Silver Knight Corporation Using fusion engines, the Mech is actually quite capable of flying in any atmospheric condition, without the need to transform. More secret stuff. They continue their work on the trade port as planned (please list the amount of AP so far). Whilst a new freighter is ready to transport the goods and men of the Kingdom, they do find Itoron on the new colony. Asgard Republic The onset of the space station goes as planned, and the first structure is in place. With all the activity going on about the new colony, they do manage to find long ravines filled with crystals that are also known as Xylorite on the new colony. The industrial investments proceed as planned, the improvement of the suit designs gets hampered though by a few unrelated events. Both corvettes are finished as planned. Imperial Republic of Mankind One Light Cruiser, 100 Heavy Walkers, 1000 Hunter droids, 100 Tank bots are added to the Imperium’s arsenal. The foreign world as it is, appears to have sunken into a global conflict, much alike the human world wars. It seems to have been going for about two years by now, with several monarchies fighting eachother, two major ideologies also present in two of the four power blocks. One clearly is capitalistic, the other clearly more aligned to socialism or communism. Technology is limited to basic air ships and simple planes, rifles and artillery dominating the scene, the first versions of tanks rolling over battlefields here and there. Thulean Republic And they come in swathes. Krib. Snail people in the thousands. The Kalronian crops appear to be common grain crops, nothing special. They can be used to make bread for that part. About a quarter of the Da’nor prove to have psionic abilities, although mostly from low to average levels. Only a few individuals do truly stand out and can use interesting abilities. Both ships are finished as planned. Free Human Technocracy And the colony ship sets down upon a new world. General improvements take place to optimize the interconnection between the implants and the nervous systems. Whilst business expands as intended with Kyber Kore as its focus, the destroyer is built as proposed. United Canadian Front The ship is finished as planned and joins the Canadian fleet. Wrapping up developement, a proper suit is finally ready for production. It meets the required specifications, whilst it is definitely not absolutely on par with the Kalronian suit, it is still an excellent combat armor to have. The colony ship lands on the new world, a new home for the Canadian people. ---- Population growth Imperial Republic of Mankind - 672,000 Humans (10,000 Xie incoming) Terran Federation - 324,750 Humans, 29,000 Grgl, 19,500 Tassarans, 12,000 Libellans, 9,500 Human-Tassarans, (15,000 Xie incoming) Silver Knight Company - 368,250 Humans, 40,000 Tassareans, 11,750 Backhatta, 20,000 Redons, 10,250 Human-Redons, 11,000 Human-Tassareans, 39,500 Galaron, 1,000 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 2,750 Redon-Tassareans, (2,500 Xie incoming) United States of Arcturus - 169,750 Humans, 5,000 Skellar, 3,000 Da'nor, 4,250 Libellans, 1,000 Human-Tjieran Hephaestus Holdings - 711,000 Humans, 88,500 Grgl, 181,000 Tassareans, 39,750 Human-Tassareans, 20,000 Libellans, 18,750 Redons, 14,750 Backhatta, 12,500 Human-Redons, 70,250 Galaron, 4,000 Redon-Tassareans, 3,000 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 12,000 Protorians (5,000 Xie incoming) Free Human Technocracy - 378,500 Humans, 31,250 Da'nor, 13,250 Human-Da'nor (2,500 Xie incoming) The Holy Kingdom of Eadn - 350,000 Humans, (20,000 Xie incoming) People's Council of Utopie - 375,000 Humans, 16,500 Protorians, 24,000 Libellans, 48,750 Grgl, 48,750 Tassareans, 19,750 Human-Tassareans, 10,000 Backhatta, 12,250 Skellar, 38,000 Galaron, 3,250 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 670,500 Humans, 7,000 Ganvians, 17,500 Ceri, 18,000 Tjierans, 45,000 Ascardians, 20,000 Da'nor, 7,500 Human-Tjierans, 8,000 Human-Da'nor, 9,500 Human-Ascardians, 6,250 Tjieran-Ascardians, 4,000 Ascardian-Da'nor, 11,250 Skellar, 12,000 Libellan Han Dominion - 428,000 Humans (133,500 Xie incoming) United Colonial Initiative - 293,500 Humans United Canadian Front - 290,000 Humans Ultima Thule - 93,000 Humans, 9,000 Da'nor, 1,500 Ceri, 4,000 Ascardians, 2,750 Tjierans, 5,500 Redons, 15,000 Krib Asgard Republic - 283,000 Humans (5,000 Xie incoming) Porton Technocracy - 259,750 Humans, 9,000 Cevelli, 4,000 Ka'cezh, 4,000 Zyrka, 1,500 Ymorian, 1,500 Alduu'uuranean, 5,000 T'jell, 16,500 Krib, 1,000 Human-Cevelli Andorra - 225,250 Humans Kingdom of United Systems - 234,000 Humans ---- Events The truce continues, the peace talks are to be hosted in Hephaestus, as requested by the Redon himself. All major warring parties have agreed. The request is filed. With the onset of the truce, there are humans of the former colony of Xie, leaving the space where they have little left of home, after the Karass fought violently over their former colony. These refugees head for various human colonies, with a huge swarm of civilian ships headed for their closest kin, the Han. The Lithruan Coalition continues to bleed for the safety of everyone else. More battles are won, more Keerim perish under their phyrric assaults. ---- Map Update In work. Tomorrow. Remember the google doc. ---- Year 2140 by Earth’s Calendar.
  12. Just another dark year in mankind's history, their fight to live on and prosper (in some places). The actions of one fool, to cost the lives of half a million people. The ill decisions, the greed, oh the humanity. One tried to manipulate the feathered death. You don't manipulate the feathered death. Then again, humans are not the only ones to suffer. Planets scorched, people slaughtered, ships destroyed, homes torn down, chaos, poverty, devastation. War consumes everyone and everything. It is the chef of death. Mounting casualties is what the Southern galaxy has to witness. Great wars left and right. Sentient beings dying because of hierarchies and orders from supposedly superior sentient beings. Others dying for ideals. Others dying to escape into another type of slavery. Who is a true master of his own destiny. Nobody, as in the end War and Death continue to win and feast upon us all. ---- United Canadian Front The corvette and light cruiser are finished without delay. The shipyards hum with activity and the ships are churned out relatively quickly as the Canadian people take great pride in their work, especially as news of victory reaches the homeworlds. Project: GOLIATH begins as planned. Without any actual effort into the developement of the suit, there is no progress. To make the suit usable for zero G, it requires resources. Left to their own devices, the colony ship finds a world covered in savannah in the sector north of the capital world. United States Of Arcturus The colony ship sets foot on the same world of the previous colony. The people are grim and in a bad mood, just to be greeted by a colony littered by corpses. The Keerim spared nobody. Whilst cleanup progresses decently with the now arriving Lithruan Coalition forces, migration appears very unlikely from outside, considering that the USA are a warzone now, or at least very close to it. Thulean Republic Though immigration slows a bit this year as a result of the major battles all across the southern galaxy, the human population of la Republiqué increases substantially. Part of this improvement is in the newly engineered crops, though the data is not definitive yet to prove if the hormone is actually improving their population yields, or if this year just happened to be a more pleasant one. The extensive scans reveal that the sector west holds a world with a deposit of a very familiar material. Trizendrium, accompanying the people of the Thulean Republic whereever they go it seems. The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon Upon the taxes being imposed, the Northern Galaxy Nations are quite displeased. A T’Jell and a Zyrka Official find themselves quite immediately after the newly imposed taxes in the office of the leader of the GTFO. With the ODC-S weapons systems entrenched throughout London Prime, the GTFO would find that their planet seems rather defensible now from a fleet of modest size. These guns do slightly upset the civilian population though, some considering them an eyesore and others worrying about the potentially oppressive nature of the government by making such a display of force. These complaints, for the most part, cause no real issues for the GTFO though. Project THEIA continues. With the added investment into the station, the GTFO’s Nexus becomes a rather substantial hub of trade, moving a tremendous amount of product between the North and South. The expansion of the facility also opens up a tremendous amount of opportunity for new trading partners, and as such new partnerships between the GTFO and other nations are likely to follow. [20 AP invested = Level 2 Trade Station, +6 Trading Relationships] A H’Wong engineer, two Zyrka, a Ka’cezh do join the architect team to assist in the construction and extension of the city. The trade center itself is being planned right now, and at the end of the year, one of the perhaps most ambitious and elaborate buildings ever devised by mankind is ready to begin construction. In fact, it exceeds the size parameters by double, and even has its own power plants. Migration takes place as usual, perhaps some more people arrived than last year, but who knows. Given the location of the GTFO, certainly a good thing. Unfortunately, no people with psionic abilities turn up, despite all effort. The Archivar is not on the Protorian homeworld at this time and indisposed, as he is participating in the peace conference. The Northern nations are currently running the treaty through official channels, most being stuck in bureaucracy and office work. The 8th crusade and its administrative and organizational efforts have priority. United Colonial Initiative The search takes a long while, until they do manage to find an arctic world that is habitable. Running out of fuel they make planetfall and setup their new colony. The construction of the Light Cruiser is certainly a massive undertaking for the UCI, and because of the incredibly sophisticated nature of the project, it nearly fails to meet the deadline! However, after nearly a year of constant work and several near disasters, the first Light Cruiser of the UCI’s Navy glides out of the shipyard fully operational, equipped with the most up-to-date weapons systems that the UCI can muster. The scientists do propose the research of an improved guidance and tracking system for the turrets. It might help out in the effectiveness of the guns or cannons. On the other hand, the tests between Itoron and Tungsten shells show, that Itoron outperforms Tungsten quite substantially, but shows a peculiar hardness that might become a weakness, if the shell pierces the target entirely. People's Agrarian Republic The aid sent to the Eadni is utilized by their Navy in constructing and deploying the nation’s first Battleship. It is certainly a majestic ship, and the Eadni government expresses their gratitude to the People’s Agrarian Republic. The upgrade to a Class 3 Shipyard is complete, certainly a substantial achievement for the P.A.R and their navy. Soon after its completion, the construction of the boat is underway. 100 Strike Suit Fighter Mechs are completed and deployed by the end of the year. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta The construction of the twin colony ships goes as planned with alien and human alike clamoring for a spot aboard these ships. They are eager to be apart of whatever luxurious plan the Maltese surely have in store for these two great vessels. Project Star Trek and MD Device Research continue. Andorra Common camoflauge techniques from Earth are certainly applicable for ships, but the issue is right now, that ships give off quite the amount of signatures, heat, electric, radio, etc. The scientists work steadily on it, but can not guarantee results any time soon. The one-hundred fighters are constructed and completed within the year with dozens of pilots eager to take a swing at flying them. They do find an arid, almost desert-like world covered in strange black chunks of metal. The atmosphere is breathable and gravity is favorable at about 1 G though, temperatures being rather high ranging from 20 to 50 °C The message appears to be received, and the cargo ship that just happened to pass by replies in an unknown language. Hephaestus Enterprises The four frigates are completed without delay, making a wide array of people extraordinarily happy. The fleet amassed by the traders now appears rather formidable! Project Pineapple, that's very juicy. Despite it all, the Auroran businessman are not to be sniffed at, and in some places, where Hephaestus representatives appear to have success at first, they are being outsted and outbought again by the same Aurorans who had to withdraw at first. Nontheless, this fresh economic impulse will do good for the nation as a whole. Under the leadership of Administrator Beam, the educational institutions of Aurora receive a significant overhaul and expansion package. The quality and rigor of Auroran education increases substantially as a result, much to the chagrin of the students currently attending those institutions. And with great success, the input of an independent Zyrka programmer who usually codes and maintains battleship systems for the Ka’cezh quickly brings the project to fruition, when he heard about the potential challenge. Given he had holidays, but was bored he took up the task… and just did it. Ms. Phelps proves that her time away from the fleet did not go to waste and the implementation of Tassaran tactics quickly improves the capabilities of the Haephestus fleet substantially. The Enforcers begin their work on retraining the Auroran forces; a task that will take some time but will eventually pay off as the force will increase substantially. The Grgl himself cuts down McPhaestus by half its size but manages to save it and turning it into a small but liked fast food chain. The ominous tablet itself just hangs there, inscribed. The Han Dominion Secret projects are secret. Definitely an ill-advised investment in the Aurora lottery! The colonization of the Alpine world goes as planned and soon the Han Dominion holds another territory of space. The Solarin Federation The shipyard sees a significant amount of expansion this year and becomes capable of some rather impressive ship-building feats. [SL4, 5/20 AP into SL 5] The developement of both an improve Warp drive and the disruptor force blade go without any remarkable results this year. But the scientists are optimistic that they are close to getting a breakthrough in some aspects. The Free Human Technocracy The two destroyers roll out of the F.H.T. shipyard by the end of the year with no issue. They are equipped with the most up-to-date tech the F.H.T. has to offer, but otherwise there is nothing unique or substantial about them. The colony ship sees a similar fate, finishing production without issue by the end of the year. The defensive batteries do well to improve the strategic capabilities of the F.H.T. THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN Secret projects are usually secret. The battleship is finished as planned, with all effort invested. Truly, a mighty ship to demonstrate the power of the Eadni people. The new material is very… unusual. It does not adhere to some laws of physics it seems. Touching it appears to do nothing, though a brave volunteer who moved his hand directly into it, says, it feels as if it was devoid of everything, not even a temperature to be felt, which is a very… disturbing feeling. The concept of a charged shell is done, and with some adjustments they are capable of building a dozen of them. Tests show though they have no immediately better effect at this point right now. Whilst they still continue to upgrade, they are not done yet, one could say. They will need more resources to make a good breakthrough to the capacities of cloning new people. Imperial Republic of Mankind The heavy infantry equipment rolls out of the factories of the Imperium and into the arms of waiting soldiers, eager to be bestowed with such fine equipment and utilize it in the field of battle. Secret projects are secret. With some effort, they are able to prototype a single phased shield onto a fighter, although it makes the fighter heavier and slower. A frigate and destroyer roll off of the line and into the fleet of the Imperium. Kingdom of Armathwaite/Silver Knight Corporation With the traded in shield technology of the Solarin Federation, the downsizing project begins. Thanks to so much of the work being done already now and the contribution of the Solarin Federation, they finish the first version of a shielded mech, sporting dual phased shields, without any notable losses in performance over the original one. A dense tropical world will be the new home of many humans living in the Kingdom of Armathwaite. Secrets everywhere. The three new corvettes are deployed rapidly into the fleet in order to replace the losses from the previous year. Their construction goes very well and act as a fine way of tuning up the skills of the shipyard’s workers. The beginning of plans for a trade outpost begins to take hold in the Kingdom of Armathwaite. Upon completion, it could prove incredibly beneficial to the Kingdom! Asgard Republic The ships of the Asgarder Navy have been refitted with the basic deflector shields, a much needed boost in the defensive arsenal of the Navy. Equipped with these shields, the ARN Valkyrie II reaches the new colony of Vanaheim, successfully establishing a colony there for the Asgardian people. The industrial growth of the Asgardian people begins to have a more visible effect on the planet of Asgard as industrial parks become far more common and larger swaths of the population gain employment from these new work places. The adoption of military robots into civilian workers proves rather effective, however malfunctions do occur occasionally. Though they don’t seem to have a substantial impact on the culture of Asgard presently, perhaps sometime in the future they will. The work on the new jump-suits begins with rather promising conceptualizations and designs, however in practice the concepts appear to be rather clunky in their handling and accidents appear to be common. More work will need to be done. The construction of the frigate goes as planned, fully equipped with Itoron plating and primitive shielding technology. ---- Population growth Imperial Republic of Mankind - 654,750 Humans Terran Federation - 310,500 Humans - 23,750 - 16,250 Tassarans - 8,750 Libellans - 6,250 Human-Tassarans Silver Knight Company - 350,000 Humans, 35,250 Tassareans, 9,250 Backhatta, 14,250 Redons, 7,000 Human-Redons, 8,750 Human-Tassareans, 34,000 Galaron, 750 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 1,500 Redon-Tassareans United States of Arcturus - 160,500 Humans, 3,500 Skellar, 1,750 Da'nor, 2,500 Libellans, 500 Human-Tjieran Hephaestus Holdings - 699,750 Humans, 82,000 Grgl, 172,750 Tassareans, 36,500 Human-Tassareans, 16,750 Libellans, 15,500 Redons, 12,500 Backhatta, 9,000 Human-Redons, 66,000 Galaron, 2,750 Redon-Tassareans, 1,750 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 9,750 Protorians Free Human Technocracy - 360,000 Humans, 25,000 Da'nor, 9,000 Human-Da'nor The Holy Kingdom of Eadn - 325,000 Humans People's Council of Utopie - 363,000 Humans, 12,000 Protorians, 19,750 Libellans, 42,500 Grgl, 42,500 Tassareans, 16,500 Human-Tassareans, 8,250 Backhatta, 9,500 Skellar, 32,250 Galaron, 2,000 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 654,000 Humans, 5,750 Ganvians, 14,000 Ceri, 15,250 Tjierans, 39,750 Ascardians, 17,000 Da'nor, 4,000 Human-Tjierans, 5,750 Human-Da'nor, 8,000 Human-Ascardians, 5,000 Tjieran-Ascardians, 2,750 Ascardian-Da'nor, 9,000 Skellar, 10,350 Libellan Han Dominion - 411,250 Humans United Colonial Initiative - 281,000 Humans United Canadian Front - 278,500 Humans Ultima Thule - 76,250 Humans, 5,250 Da'nor, 1,000 Ceri, 2,500 Ascardians, 1,500 Tjierans, 3,250 Redons Asgard Republic - 270,250 Humans Porton Technocracy - 246,000 Humans, 5,250 Cevelli, 2,250 Ka'cezh, 2,500 Zyrka, 750 Ymorian, 750 Alduu'uuranean, 2,250 T'jell, 11,000 Krib, 500 Human-Cevelli Andorra - 214,250 Humans ---- Events The war in the West grinds to a standstill, as the Ganvius offensive is being forcibly stopped by a well planned Kalronian counter attack. The death toll is rising, breaking already millions. The Lithruan Coalition bleeds, and it bleeds heavily. Every sector, every planet, they push back the Keerim, at incredibly high costs. But they are steadfast in their determination. It shows results. Under incredible losses, with genocide happening all over the place as the Keerim withdraw slowly, scorching entire worlds, the Skellar and Libellans are freed and pick up arms against their former overlords, to bolster the LC forces. A new power shows up in the events of the Galaxy, as the Darkul Regime from the Carina cluster makes its presence known. For now they appear to mostly observe and trade through that small trade part built by the humans and them, but who knows for how long? Under guidance of Chaal and the Archivar, the Protorian Council has called for a truce and peace negotiations. Under pressure of the Redons who do heed the wishes of the Saryn, the Karass have agreed to attend and adhere to it. It is in effect starting 2139. Following nations are bid to the table: The Karass Dominion, the Karass Rebels, the Backhatta Hive, the Redon Imperium, the Imperium of Mankind, the Protorian Council, the Holy Kingdom of Eadn. Any other potential parties must file a request to participate in this gathering. Chaal and the Archivar will head the peace talks. ---- Map Update ---- Year 2139 by Earth’s Calendar.
  13. Sorry for it taking a while. You are welcome to join in now. Contact me in Skype. You will have Warp technology, Shipyard Level 3, 220,000 humans, 3 destroyers, 2 frigates, 1 colony ship. Posting for you starts after the upcoming modpost.
  14. The year sees the shifting of powers and the onset of new clashes between the nations of the Southern Galaxy. Whilst the Corrupters have shifted into the background as a concern, three other major conflicts still burn in the sea of stars. The Karass Loyalist-Rebel War, the Ganvius-Kalronian War and the LC-Protorian-Keerim War. Especially the flames of the third will begin to roar up, the machinery of warfare and mechanized killing finally going full speed. On the other hand, some human colonies decide that is in their best interest to seek for unity in these troubled times. Mutual protection? Interests? Sheer survival? The Colonial Militia, Aegis and Aurora have all come to such a conclusion and integrated into respective other colonies for these reasons. The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon The space station continues to grow and soon begins to bear its first fruit of the combined labour. With the continous investments from the Zyrka, the flow of goods and materials coming in and passing through, the GTFO's resources are growing by the day. (+1 AP per turn from central trade hub between North and South). With new people come new mindsets and ideas. Something that might prove very beneficial for the GTFO in the future. By giving them a foundation to work with, the expansion of this initiative might bear fruit at some point in the future. Whilst the project enters the concept phase, with work on the schematics, blueprints and calculations and variables, the Zyrka and Cevelli both decline unfortunately. Surprisingly though, a T'Jell high merchant reaches the station, planning to set up a new business venture of his at the space port. And he does pay heftily. (+1 AP this turn from T'Jell investment) The Ka'cezh indeed show up with a group of military officials that demand that the space station meets a set of requirements that go hand in hand with the standards they have established in the Northern Galaxy. In assistance to that they bring some resources to help with the construction of a very demanded Xylorite refueling and refining station. (+1 AP this turn from Ka'cezh Support) It is unclear if the campaign had any effect on migration as a whole, thus far nothing appears to have changed. United Canadian Front And it is a hope well maintained as the engineers cheer, when another of their children leave the shipyard. This one is for peace, they claim, before beginning work on the ordered frigate. The frigate also leaves the shipyard later that year, perhaps with some less enthusiasm by the people working on it, but it is necessary to protect them. And the additional refining facilities might prove a boon in the future. With insulation improvements and some adjustments in joint flexibility and freedom it should be easier and safe to wear, on ground or in space, although it is not necessarily intended for zero G enviroment combat. The Solarin Federation And so the development of a Federation Forceblade that uses disruptor energy begins. It will take quite a substantial amount of time until something proper is finished, for now they still are in the concept phase as they first have to develope a forceblade, before they can add a weaponized energy form to it. The improvement of the warp drives is a good choice, though there are no real volunteers or knowledgeable people amongst the non-human population. Disregarding that, they do focus on the task at hand. Whilst no real improvements are made yet, at some point the scientists might show results. The light cruiser leaves the shipyard as planned. The update from LAS to LAS II goes quite smoothly, being mostly a software update that does not really require any hardware replacements for the system. Little did the crews know it was their last voyage this year. Both ships encounter corrupter patrols and ships and are subsequently destroyed. Chaal remains amiss, as she is still on the Protorian homeworld. Rond Trazur on the other hand continues his diligent work, interviewing officers and ship captains, evaluating their talents, repositioning some men from the army into naval command and vice versa, conducting a wide array of team tests and group coordination training to improve the combat capabilities of entire crews. As it left the shipyard last year, it only has a single voyage to make, setting foot on a new world, establishing another foothold in the sea of stars for the Solarin Federation. Unfortunately, said Libellan architect died of age. United States Of Arcturus The colonial freighter is finished as planned. In lieu of repeating myself, I do say, they have built a lot more defenses. Unfortunately, at this point, the colony of Aegis does not exist anymore. The voyager probes have already been found and are both in Redon hands, in a museum of spaceflight. The ships do reach the Carina galaxy. What they might discover there? ((Encounter)) With the onset of two simultaneous offensives, from the Keerim and the LC at the same time, the flow of resources becomes quite significant for the USA. It seems their feathered overlords need a surprisingly high amount of resources. (+2 AP for military port of the Keerim Imperium) THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN Whilst the support carrier is finished as planned, the refining of the growth techniques is not. The scientists have made some substantial improvements, but they require more time and resources to perfect the new technique. What a holy secret. Whilst the planet is apparently alright, with no issues to atmosphere, illnesses or otherwise, they do find what is off. Here and there on the planet, they do find... odd clouds of dark space with stars sprinkled in them hanging in the air. The scanners can not quite identify them, the objects appear to have no temperature on their own, and seem unaffected by regular gravity. They hang in place unmoving, regardless if something touches it or not. United Colonial Initiative With all ships completed and ready for war and colonization, the upgrades of the soldier's suits and the ships (although LAS is not really a ship system), goes without issue. The Han Dominion The colonial freighter leaves the shipyard, ready to claim another world for the Han. The expansion of the shipyard goes as planned in the meantime, with new facilities being added each day. (4/10 to SL 4) On the other hand, the floating construct gets a brother, as a quantum anchor station is assembled up in space. The sector immediately south holds a rugged alpine world with breathable atmosphere and a hospitable fauna and flora. Remarkable are the vast Xylorite crystal formations that cover a good stretch of the mountain ranges. Andorra Whilst they begin to elaborate on the concept of camouflage, or more specifically the next generation of it, bringing the project into an early concept phase, the colonial freighter does not discover anything of notice despite all effort. Perhaps elsewhere would be better to look. Although, foreign ships do pass by the system on a regular basis it seems. These are definitely not human built. What could it mean? They seem to not heed the colony's presence. Hephaestus Enterprises They eat little and they breed fast. Considering, if they had a true excess of edible food for them, they might multiply like a plague. Otherwise their biological makeup is quite simple, nothing out of the ordinary to be mentioned. And six more frigates are finished. Given the guidelines Rond Trazur has left behind and his military practices and exercises, these "wargames" and training missions go quite well. Surely a good thing to get used to your toys before using them on the big boys. In lieu of what Hephaestus has contributed, Amanda Phelps is offered a personal tutoring by the famous "Commander of a Thousand Battles". A Tassaran Commander, supposed to be named Grand Commander of the Tassaran Forces in the coming year, who has fought and held against Corrupter forces on ground and in space in over a thousand engagements. He himself has lost a leg in his 727th mission, as a Sub-Commander, when he led ground forces to liberate a city from ongoing Corrupter occupation, whilst being outnumbered 23 to 1. The green tablet is a gift for Penrith. A token of gratitude for the efforts for the Confederation of Xaplonius. The Thulean Republic With the aid of the LC, naturally new people and faces come to settle. Da'nor, Ascardians, Ceri, Tjierans, Terraskolarians, Humans, even a few Redons. Picking up old genetic research from Earth, they begin to develope more resilient and faster growing crops. ((This goes into agricultural.)) All LC members clearly state that they are fully accepting any trade with the Thulean Republic. Of the few surrounding systems that are being examined, the sector to the West holds a desert world that appears habitable. Kingdom of Armathwaite/Silver Knight Corporation The colony ship is finished as planned, ready to claim a world for their new king. First a proper shield technology has to be found, so this mostly enters the concept phase for the time being. Secret is secret is secret. But only between spies. Imperial Republic of Mankind Both ships leave the shipyard after assembly, ready to carry out the will of their Emperor. With the Xylorite refinery roaring and ready to process the raw crystals into pure and highly efficient Xylorite, the output should reflect on the nation's budget as a whole. (+1 AP from Industry) The People's Agrarian Republic The ships are finished as planned, ready to act in the PAR's interests. The survey yields some results, the newest colony bordering Aurora apparently has deposits of Itoron. Mining could take place there quite readily. Asgard Republic About five hundred Hunters and fifty Tank robots are finished, with the new design and schematic being an unusual request for the factories at this point in time. And the industry grows and prospers further. Tough and yielding little results. Itoron is used as a high-end metal everywhere in the galaxy it seems, much like titanium or steel (and alloys of it). The new destroyer fitted with its shining and resilient armor is finished as planned, ready for action. The existing vessels are slowly being refitted with the new alloy as armor. The probes do discover a planet covered in jungle. High moisture levels and hot temperatures do give it a very... tropical climate. But the atmosphere is breathable and it appears quite habitable otherwise. The Free Human Technocracy And so the cloning facility is ready to be used. It is less of a super cannon, but they do build two batteries of three on two strategical locations on the world. Bug? Secret. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta They continue their work on it, but it is still in the early idea phase. Whilst they find no life, they do discover a planet with Xylorite deposits in the sector straight north of the capital sector. The same system also has a habitable world with vast oceans and few tiny islands. Make it so. Only three Da'nor with psionic abilities do join. Their abilities though are remarkably well developed. It appears they have formerly served in military positions. Fifteen sought after criminals are being detained and picked up by a Ceri Destroyer to be transported back to LC territory. ---- Population growth Imperial Republic of Mankind - 636,000 Humans Terran Federation - 519,500 Humans - 34,750 Grgl - 50,250 Tassarans - 12,000 Libellans - 12,750 Human-Tassarans Silver Knight Company - 334,750 Humans, 29,000 Tassareans, 7,500 Backhatta, 12,000 Redons, 5,500 Human-Redons, 7,000 Human-Tassareans, 29,500 Galaron, 500 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 1,000 Redon-Tassareans United States of Arcturus - 360,500 Humans, 11,500 Skellar, 8,500 Da'nor, 10,000 Libellans, 102,000 Keerim, 1,500 Human-Tjieran Hephaestus Holdings - 678,000 Humans, 74,000 Grgl, 165,250 Tassareans, 30,000 Human-Tassareans, 12,500 Libellans, 13,500 Redons, 9,000 Backhatta, 7,500 Human-Redons, 60,750 Galaron, 1,500 Redon-Tassareans, 1,000 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 8,500 Protorians Saga Initiative - 342,500 Humans, 22,000 Da'nor, 7,500 Human-Da'nor The Holy Kingdom of Eadn - 300,000 Humans People's Council of Utopie - 345,250 Humans, 9,750 Protorians, 16,500 Libellans, 37,000 Grgl, 37,000 Tassareans, 13,000 Human-Tassareans, 6,000 Backhatta, 7,750 Skellar, 28,000 Galaron, 1,250 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 630,000 Humans, 4,000 Ganvians, 11,000 Ceri, 13,000 Tjierans, 35,500 Ascardians, 14,750 Da'nor, 2,750 Human-Tjierans, 4,000 Human-Da'nor, 6,500 Human-Ascardians, 3,500 Tjieran-Ascardians, 2,000 Ascardian-Da'nor, 7,500 Skellar, 7,500 Libellan Han Dominion - 390,000 Humans United Colonial Initiative - 269,000 Humans United Canadian Front - 262,000 Humans Ultima Thule - 65,000 Humans, 2,000 Da'nor, 500 Ceri, 1,000 Ascardians, 750 Tjierans, 1,000 Redons Asgard Republic - 256,000 Humans Porton Technocracy - 235,500 Humans, 3,000 Cevelli, 1,500 Ka'cezh, 1,750 Zyrka, 500 Ymorian, 500 Alduu'uuranean, 1,500 T'jell, 9,500 Krib, 250 Human-Cevelli Andorra - 200,000 Humans ---- Events Thousands of ships begin to engage in so many sectors in no-mans-space, as the LC start their assault on the Keerim Imperium at the same time, they start their offensive against the LC and Protorians. The fighting is brutal, and losses number in the tens of thousands. This time, the Keerim clearly face a struggle as four highly advanced nations are tossing their might against the expansive star empire. The Ganvius slowly gain ground on the Kalronians, though the Ganvius Command is careful, as it might be a ruse. The rebellion continues to unfold in Karass space, Backhatta actively engaging the Redons with assistance of their Protorian allies. It's a very messy conflict. Three human colonies join their brethren. Aegis joins the Order of Malta, the Colonial Militia settles a sector near the Imperium of Man, joining them. Oh, and the vote for Aurora goes in favor of Hephaestus. 57 % in favor of Hephaestus, 20 % for the Solarin Federation, 13 % for the Silver Knights, 10 % for the PAR. Apparently the history of Hephaestus, their preservation of lives, their pursuit of peace and prosperity, their argumentation and continous advertising have done the trick. ---- Map Update In work. Coming in a bit. ---- Year 2138 by Earth’s Calendar.
  15. Notify me in Skype. Accepted, 185,000 Humans, Warp tech, Quantum Communications, SL2, a destroyer, two frigates, a colonial freighter. And all the other stuff that comes along with it :) Feel free to begin posting, you will be added on the map next turn.
  16. It is a busy year. The 8th Crusade begins to unfold fully, with endless reports of successful and unsuccessful battles and attacks flooding in from the Northern and Southern front. Casualty statistics are mounting, for so many races and nations. But at least those who fought them for decades can rest at ease for the time being. Chaal the Saryn takes on the young Hanying as her daughter, to begin her journey through the Southern Galaxy. Perhaps an event of big interest for the humans is the decision of the Auroran Technocracy. The first round of votes brings only four potential banners to the next turn. The PAR, Silver Knights, Hephaestus and the Solarin Federation. ((Encounter)) ---- The Sovereign Military Order of Malta Despite the fact that it is in a warzone, the ships go unheeded by all fighting sides, colonization taking place as usual. Still, the results are only theoretical and mathematics, as this field is entirely new for mankind to explore as such straight away. This is not reverse engineering, this is inventing. Time and effort are of essence in this venture. The two ships are built as ordered, and join the Fleet of Malta as planned. The retrofitting of the ships goes slowly, but steadily. Although that being a given, they will need next year too to wrap up the retrofitting. United States Of Arcturus A long journey, but thanks to the supplies the freighters take along, this is journey is well supplied. At the end of the year they have arrived, communications with the homeworld are good and stable, the ships awaiting command. Some interesting findings have been made. ((Skype)) Even more fortifications? Like madmen, digging and drilling, building and stockpiling. Bunkers, tunnels, reinforced positions. It almost feels like they are building that for the Keerim. Hephaestus Enterprises And eight frigates with Hephaestus standard are ready to go where Penrith points. These... rabbits appear very comfortable around human beings. In general, they have observed that they tend to linger around peaceful bigger creatures that they consider not a threat to them, but capable of protecting them. Whilst there is no real return for being protected, something still seems to satisfy other native fauna on the planet when they are present. A rich Grgl shows up, bringing a peculiar object with him. THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN Whilst the light cruiser and the colony ship are finished and head out into the stars, one to fight in future battles, the other to claim new grounds for the Eadni people, the investment into the research goes just as well and as planned. Minor corrections in material quality, deviations in calculations are being fixed and in general the computer simulations look quite promising for this improved weapon. Two sectors away, they are lucky, finding an earth-like world, rich and fertile, with breathable atmosphere, fauna and flora in place. Something is off about the planet, the sensors can not quite pinpoint it. The Solarin Federation With inspiration from the Kalronian combat interface in their helmets, they actually manage to make some significant improvements to how the LAS system operates and how the system interacts with the wearer. This update could well be called LAS II, current designations ignored. With new streamlined information output and tactical information and interlinking between the soldiers it should assist them like never before. The field of force blade technology is new for the Federation, although there are several nations in the galaxy that have force blades as a standard equipment piece for their soldiers. Whilst the majority uses regular forcefields similar to shield technologies, the Ymorians have disruptor energy infused energy blades, the Ka'cezh use combat knifes that are covered in light energy, laser, when active. The concept phase requires to make a decision in which direction they should go. The search is extensive, but does indeed yield results. Two sectors south of the old Remnant capital world, they do find a system with Itoron deposits, with a neighbouring star holding an arid planet that is inhabitable, much alike Tassarea. The Colonial freighter is finished as planned, ready to set foot upon a new world. Rond Trazur does indeed bring important and valuable insight into how the military structure may streamline itself. His experience in the war against the Corrupters, his martial education in the Redon Imperium have both left their mark on his perspectives. Currently, as per contract, he is rooting out shortcomings in the current system, replacing and moving officers and commanders as required, reassigning captains of ships if given permission, conducting hundreds of interviews with crewmen and soldiers, to bring them all together into a more efficient fighting force. And the little corvettes do wonderful work. Never caught, they hop in, mark targets, for a nearby Ka'cezh fleet to jump in and conduct business. The losses of the Corrupters are rising steadily. The communique is acknowledged by all nations, yet they remain steadfast in their cause. It appears that both sides still believe they can win. They fought together, they bled together, they died together. The People's Agrarian Republic Many secrets. Given current technological standards, the first version of the combat knife with integrated forcefield projector reaches it peak of performance. Stable for extended periods of time, capable of cutting heavily into material, well balanced and light weight, it is a useful addition for any soldier. The proposal is welcomed by various commanders of the Ka'cezh fleet quite readily. Fresh food supplies for the fighting force, it easens the strain on the long supply route from the Star Empire, and frees up cargo capacity for more weapons and soldiers. (1 AP from 8th Crusade Breadbasket) Chaal smiles sadly, as she is approached by the veterans of this pointless battle. As she states that they are a foolish young race that still has so much to learn, she does forgive them for what she can forgive for, but for the other men and women, their children and families, they have to seek them to ask for forgiveness. They are free to go. The new planet the colony ship settles upon is yet another mountaineous alpine world, rugged formations and mountain ranges dominating the landscape. But the flora and fauna is rich despite the cool climate. Sturdier crops will grow just fine here. The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon The Zyrka do indeed connect the communication system and network of Orimon to the Northern Galactic Network, with all regulations and contracts of the Ka'cezh Star Empire in place. Mind you, all nations of the Northern galaxy actively are part of this network, with the exception of the Zaxx and the Ar'gakari. It's still a way from becoming the essential trade center between North and South, but it will get there at some point. Right now, it begins to serve as the last supply point before they reach Hephaestus. Many materials and wares, weapons and soldiers are beginning to be funneled through the new trade port. For the while being, whilst the trade port is still growing, the investments into potential tourism do not prove of much value yet, very few come to stay. Currently. But those who stay are intent to establish their own businesses too. The importance and the potential of the planet can barely be put into words. (2 AP from 8th Crusade Rally Point) Proper immigration on the other hand might become feasible, as soon as the port reaches a certain point of attraction. But, the first few already wage to start a new life. ((Sounds brief, but I was not sure what else to state, you need to grow this port.)) The Thulean Republic Whilst they do manage to have Trizendrium as a payload in missiles and shells, less relevant of size, it appears still to be unusable for the proposed flamethrowers. But the technology stands. The ship is finished as planned, ready to defend the interests of the Thulean Republic. The planning of the defensive systems might go well, but there is no build progress. And at the beginning of the new year, sensor alerts indicate an unknown fleet enters the capital system of the Thulean Republic. ((Encounter)) United Canadian Front And the UCF Stalwart is ready for combat. It might be sooner than later, as the Ganvius Nation does indeed contact them, reporting they have a battle for them to fight. There is unfortunately not much more to discover in this standard infantry combat armor. But they do finish a first prototype of the suit and successfully test it on the field. Whilst it looks like a cheap copy, it should be possible to produce it for the men on the field. The Free Human Technocracy And so they continue building it. Next year, the architects state, they will finish it and get it up and running if the resources assigned remain even. All four ships are finished as ordered. The Han Dominion With the required goal set, the project continues, but remains in the concept stage. This is a difficult project and it will take a while. Chaal and Hanying leave Jie to his duties of war, whilst they begin to journey the Southern galaxy, avoiding conflict. After a brief visit to Proteum Davun with the Archivar as their host, their journey begins. United Colonial Initiative With the sheer amount of resources and manpower invested into the shipyard extension they manage to finish it in just under a year, ready to pickup construction orders already again. (6/6 AP. SL 3 now.) And the first set of 1000 suits are being made, based upon the UCF design (see above). It should be noted, this is NO power armor. It is combat armor. Imperial Republic of Mankind With reparations sent off, the remaining resources funneled into the shipyard, yield the construction of three frigates, ready to defend the homeworld at any cost. Expanding upon the Xylorite mines proves to be a good idea. The additional Xylorite can prove useful for powering the generators that supply the now very vast defense network. Whatever effects the new immigration policy may have is yet to be seen, as the amount of foreign races in the Imperial Republic equals zero. Probably the lack of appeal. Silver Knight Corporation ((I assume the first thing refers to a change from Oligarchy into Autocracy, changing your bonuses.)) Whilst the two new destroyers leave the shipyard as planned, there are good news from the Xylorite reactor front. They have managed to build a functional version of the intended small reactor, with everything fully in order and functional. Apparently one of the scientists who was tasked with the job had a chat with an old man in a white suit about the formula he was struggling with and got helped out. A formula that is two pages long. Asgard Republic According to external sources, the black ore is called Itoron, a metal that is incredibly resilient and is the material of dreams when combined with common steel, beating Titanium for space constructions in every aspect. It is usually mined by laser, although the drill approach works too, with pure Itoron drill bits and saw blades. The corvette is finished as planned, just when the positive reply comes for the Lithruan Coalition. Only the Kalronian and Ganvius are at full power, with the military losses climbing into the hundreds of thousands, several thousand vessels destroyed, planets devastated, millions of civilians evacuated. Chaal's gift remains. She herself begins to pay visits to various nations and human colonies. A communique is received by a group of humans calling themselves the Colonial Militia. They are offering to join any nearby Human colonies, as they have barely avoided extinction by Kalronian hand it seems. ---- Map Update ---- Year 2137 by Earth’s Calendar.
  17. The 8th Crusade And so it begins. Convinced by Chaal the Saryn of Laandaalir Triat and after a long slumber without pain after one-hundred fifty years, the Lord of Stars of the Ka'cezh Star Empire has called for the 8th crusade. The final crusade to be against the menace that has threatened all life in the galaxy for centuries. The Corrupters. Calling it his last war, he leads the vast majority of the Ka'cezh Star fleet in the South against the Corrupter Dominion, whilst the allied fleets of the Ymorians, Cevelli, Krib, Cynn, Alduu'uranean, Adaptaar, H'wong and Zyrka will strike from the North, using the great barrier they built all these years ago to keep the Corrupters at bay as their staging point. The 8th crusade is the biggest military operation to ever be seen, the whole Northern galaxy at war against a single foe, whom they have to destroy utterly and completely to finally bring peace to the people of the milky way, and to ensure that future generations would never have to deal with them again. It will be bloody, and it will not be won in one year, but it will take significant strides, as they had the time to prepare. And finally, the Confederation of Xaplonius and the Tassaran Republic can rest for a while. Although their assistance will be needed in the future, as the Ka'cezh welcome any help. ---- United States Of Arcturus The "new" schematics for the surface batteries prove useful and complement the PSDI with some proper heavy armament. Although it has to be noted that only a few batteries have been built, given the unusual design specifications and the parts to be made. And the anchor enters orbit, charging and ready to send ships around. Whilst transit might be almost instant, the jump itself takes time to charge. The construction of the frigates goes as planned, joining the remainder of the US fleet. These smaller vessels should aid the bigger ones well. The drone itself reaches the Carina galaxy as planned and begins sending sensor data and other images. Around the entry point it has not discovered anything of note yet, the star systems in normal arrangements as in the milky way. United Canadian Front The combat armor appears to be standardized for the Kalronian infantry and guard forces. It's reliable Itoron S-50 plating gives it some weight, but also protects the wearer properly. Along with it comes a special composite alloy underneath the Itoron plates, the purpose being additional shielding against hazardous enviroments. That goes along with the jump suits the Kalronian soldiers all wear, sealing it airtight. The combat armor has gas tanks with oxygen installed and some integrated circulation system to regulate temperature even in cold regions. Given that a Kalronian is about the height and build of a human, they can freely equip them. The interfacing system and software of the suit proves to be a challenge, whilst the Kalronian language is identified with the assistance of the Ganvius Nation, it's not easy to learn, so a new software should potentially be installed. Reproducing the suit is a bit of a challenge, but given some effort they can surely prototype on of their own. Xylorite-fusing proves to be... remarkably fatal, as the Xylorite violently rips apart any device that tries to fuse it into a material for a shell. As an explosive charge, Xylorite might be useful though, perhaps pursuing that would be wise. Devices that emit electric pulses are inefficient, not functional or just too expensive to be put on shells. It's a slow onset, but a good two-thousand of the new Itoron-Aluminium combat suit are made by the end of the year. Building a Xylorite refinery is a huge task and requires professional engineering. Given with the technology the process is being sped up, but still, the refinery has to be built and requires more resources. It will take another four years at the current rate to finish one capable of producing sufficient refined Xylorite. The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon With the additional resources invested into the colony, it picks off quite readily, giving a good foundation for a potential boom to come in the coming years. Again, whilst all the shifting and repurposing of the station and its parts is taking place, the Zyrka continue to invest into the Galactic Trade Federation, bringing wealth and goods along with them. They must have something in mind. (2 bonus AP) Picking up previous research from Earth and including the new discoveries, they begin to elaborate on various subjects at a time regarding genetic research and biological makeup of species. No remarkable results this year though. With the onset of the 8th crusade, all Northern nations except for the Ar'gakari and the Zaxx do join the GTC, but only formally for now. Imperial Republic of Mankind It is a madman's duty, the engineers and workers say, as they continue to build more defences, bunkers, tunnel network, infrastructure, logistics and so forth. If this goes on, it might become the most fortified world in the Southern Galaxy. Rows after rows of batteries line the surface now, giving plenty of coverage where needed. The fighters and bombers on the other hand are finished as planned. People's Agrarian Republic Another colony ship is built, granting more people to chance to settle on new worlds, finding new homes, explore the unknown or just get some distance from uncomfortable relatives. The secret project remains secret. Whilst they make no particular progress in the length of the projected forceblade, they do manage to strengthen and stabilize the forcefield itself. Along with that are some minor improvements to the balance of the knifes and the fuelcell integrated into the hilt of the knife. The Solarin Federation The four ships join the Solarin navy, after the heavy losses sustained in the battles for Tassarea. Nontheless, a welcome addition. The Thulean Republic And so the ship sets down with a clunk, unfolding its hangar bays, with the new inhabitants flooding out onto their new homeworld. It takes a while, but soon they have established a new core settlement on this new world, claimed for the Thulean Republic. It is by accident, but it turns out to work. Trizendrium rounds. A combat engineer has a brother in the research team for the Trizendrium and got wind of the project running. After discussing, followed by research and experimentation, they develope a first functional Trizendrium round that uses a small stable Trizendrium cell. It appears to have some good effects against solid objects. Foundations for a few factories are being laid down this year. More investments are necessary to give out any results. Silver Knight Corporation The additional surveillance might prove beneficial. ((Skype)) And they finish the Light Cruiser by the end of the year, another mighty ship to join the fleet. United Colonial Initiative All three ships are finished as tasked, prepared to engage into further battles against the Kalronians, whenever the Ganvius have a military operation going. The Ganvius command will contact the UCI and UCF accordingly. Asgard Republic Given the little population of the colony, this would mean that basically all men are to be soldiers. Whilst they are capable of bringing the strength up to 10,000 right now in the way as intended, more training requires more resources and probably a far higher population. And the first foundation is laid for the upcoming industrial complexes to be. (Remember to count this.) They do manage to break out big chunks of ore by using D7X2 explosive clay from old days on Earth, although it's not the best way to go about mining it. And one hundred traditional strike craft from old Earth days are finished, ready to defend their new home as needed. ((Colony ship - Skype, need to figure this out.)) The diplomatic hails are acknowledged by every nation, except for the Keerim. THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN Whilst the ships are finished as projected, the high velocity cannon gets its first proper prototype. It is in field-testing, and looks promising, although for a real stepup above the current systems, they still have to work on it. As for the study of other concepts, the scientists can fathom a few potentially good ideas, but nontheless nothing particular to compare it to has been found yet. The production of the fighters supposedly goes as planned, but then somehow they find that all used materials are still in storage, despite... being used. Surveillance recordings show that a man in a white suit walked through the storage facilities at one point. No traces were found of him on the colony regardless of all attempts. (1 AP bonus) Hephaestus Enterprises And who would have thought that the biggest number of visitors are... soldiers. Ka'cezh soldiers taking their days off and breaks on Aphrodite. From the simple crewman of a destroyer to the captain of battleships. With the onset of the 8th crusade, a never before seen flow of warships and transport ships, goods, soldiers and wealth passes through Hephaestus. Xylorite is traded into the Ka'cezh Star Fleets like it was candy. Itoron is being picked up in thousands of tons by massive factory ships of the Ka'cezh, to produce shells, ammunition, armor plates, conduct repairs, and so forth. But of course, that is less relevant to a holiday... planet. (+4 AP for coming turns, Port of 8th Crusade modifier, +2 AP to all direct trading partners) Downsizing and multiplying is quickly done and by the end of the year, they present a swarmer missile launcher, that fires handy little things with the length of an upper arm of a human, carrying a regular explosive payload. The amount of fired projectiles though is five times higher than a regular launcher of the same size. The planet they find and decide to settle is an alpine world, with an average, but warm climate, rugged mountains and cliffs stretching over the majority of the landmasses, cold seas, but also very little fauna and flora. In terms of fauna though, there is a strange very cuddly... bunny animal. Huh. The Free Human Technocracy Only a few dozen are being recruited, almost all of them being Da'nor, except for a few hybrids. No humans have shown any... psionic abilities. The shipyard of the Holy Kingdom of Eadn is finished as planned this year. (20/20 AP. SL5 now.) It will take more effort to finish the complex facility and get it up and running, according to the engineers and architects. A few more years at the current rate, this is no easy task. Whilst such amnemities are welcome, mostly Da'nor begin to peruse them, as there are no reported humans to have manifested any psionic abilities. The Han Dominion And a new model of jumppack enters the prototype phase. It is dangerous to use without proper training though as the users might break bones and suffer other injuries on botched landings or flying against objects. But it gives the infantry agility and speed they could need if they focus more on hit and run combat, attack and maneuver or just plain guerilla warfare. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta The colony ship is finished as planned. Another homestead to be built for the people of Malta. At first, they need to understand the concept of disruptor energy and the weaponizing of it. The research is intense, but the scientists can not bring up any prototypes or solutions just yet, as they are still working on the math behind it. This will take a very long time, so they say. A lot of experiments, failures and costs. ---- Population growth Imperial Republic of Mankind - 335,500 Humans Terran Federation - 498,000 Humans - 28,500 Grgl - 45,000 Tassarans - 9,250 Libellans - 11,000 Human-Tassarans Silver Knight Company - 312,000 Humans, 24,000 Tassareans, 6,500 Backhatta, 9,750 Redons, 4,500 Human-Redons, 5,500 Human-Tassareans, 24,000 Galaron, 150 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 250 Redon-Tassareans United States of Arcturus - 333,500 Humans, 9,000 Skellar, 7,750 Da'nor, 8,750 Libellans, 80,000 Keerim, 1,000 Human-Tjieran Aurora - 334,000 Humans, 65,000 Tassareans, 20,000 Grgl, 7,500 Protorians, 8,500 Human-Tassareans, 10,000 Galaron Hephaestus Holdings - 300,000 Humans, 40,000 Grgl, 91,000 Tassareans, 16,000 Human-Tassareans, 10,000 Libellans, 10,000 Redons, 7,500 Backhatta, 6,000 Human-Redons, 44,000 Galaron, 500 Redon-Tassareans, 250 Human-Redon-Tassareans Saga Initiative - 315,500 Humans, 18,000 Da'nor, 6,000 Human-Da'nor The Holy Kingdom of Eadn - 256,000 Humans People's Council of Utopie - 320,500 Humans, 9,000 Protorians, 13,000 Libellans, 22,000 Grgl, 34,500 Tassareans, 10,000 Human-Tassareans, 5,000 Backhatta, 6,000 Skellar, 23,500 Galaron, 750 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 306,000 Humans, 2,750 Ganvians, 4,250 Ceri, 4,000 Tjierans, 4,000 Ascardians, 4,000 Da'nor, 500 Human-Tjierans, 500 Human-Da'nor, 500 Human-Ascardians, 500 Tjieran-Ascardians, 250 Ascardian-Da'nor Han Dominion - 345,000 Humans Aegis - 244,500 Humans, 6,250 Skellar, 6,250 Libellan, 5,000 Da'nor, 5,000 Tjierans, 4,000 Ceri, 4,000 Ascardians, 1,250 Human-Ascardians, 1,250 Human-Da'nor, 1,250 Human-Tjierans, 1,250 Tjieran-Ascardians, 250 Ascardian-Da'nor United Colonial Initiative - 245,500 Humans United Canadian Front - 236,000 Humans The Colonial Militia - 257,500 Humans Ultima Thule - 211,500 Humans Asgard Republic - 230,000 Humans Porton Technocracy - 206,750 Humans ---- Events Despite the onset of the 8th crusade, war still rages within the Southern galaxy. The Keerim Imperium suffers several losses at the hands of the Protorians, manages though to win a string of battles against the Trialition forces. Just as the year ends, the Grand Alliance officially joins the Trialition, which is aptly renamed into the Lithruan Coalition, named after the planet Lithruan Beta, the Ceri world where the treaty has been signed. The Rebels continue with their momentum, beating the Karass on several battlefields. Nontheless, the remaining Karass fleet returns from Corrupter space with the arrival of the Ka'cezh late this year, and could bring a turnaround. The Redon Imperium wins a string of battles against the Backhatta, but then loses one decisive battle for the control of an important sector against a combined Backhatta-Protorian fleet. In the far West, the war continues to destroy lives, as Kalronian and Ganvius ships clash in devastating battles. According to Ganvius reports, about two-thousand vessels of all sizes have been destroyed on both sides. Chaal's gift remains. The government of Aurora currently petitions for unity with another human nation, seeking strength in that. ---- Map Update Monday. Please refer to the google doc to be not forgotten in the map update. ---- Year 2136 by Earth’s Calendar.
  18. The drums of war, the drums of a march, the drums of preparation, the drums of a final battle. The Tassaran forces have gathered their remaining strength, as much as the Corrupters seem to have gathered the majority of their ships for this battle that could decide the success or failure of their continous crusade of turning everything into them. Much is at stake and many wheels are turning. United Canadian Front The retrofitting of the ships goes as planned. The effect they had in the battles that took place was certainly of value. An outstanding victory. Whilst the UCF's participation might have been small, the Ganvius were able to position these extra forces elsewhere, guaruanteeing a successful offensive. The shipyard expansion finishes by the beat of the new year, ready to produce bigger warships for the battles to come. With the Kalronians as declared enemies of mankind, certainly not a wrong decision. The Thulean Republic Perhaps it is sheer luck, but they do happen to find a terran planet, that is habitable, with mostly wild flora covering it. The planet itself is massive, having seven times the surface area of Earth, but sports a relatively comfortable gravity of 1.1 G. The density of the planet appears rather low, all things considered, tectonics are less active than they were on Earth. But it is a suitable candidate for colonization. Also, during the thorough examination of it, they do realize that the planet as well, has vast deposits of Trizendrium. With the additional resources, it is expected that new factories and assembly halls will sprout in due time. It turns out, Trizendrium is very well usable in the small amounts for single-use handheld burning charges, or perhaps as a fuel for cutting tools (that use the burning Trizendrium to cut something). The scientists have figured out how to make liquid and stable Trizendrium cells, that can be potentially utilized in such utilities. Otherwise, a drop of Trizendrium can surely start a fire in your chimney or give you a nice campfire. The Solarin Federation 25,000 volunteers, of all races, Grgl, Tassaran, Humans, and so forth, assemble in order to join the upcoming and perhaps decisive battle for Tassarea. All ships are constructed as planned, along with the new Quantum anchor beacons in their engineering sections. The Quantum anchor itself takes its place in orbit as a small station, ready to push and pull the ships about as needed. With a rough 5,000 disruptor rifles being distributed amongst the soldiers, as well as an equal number of Power Armor being suited to those men, this should bolster them a bit. Hopefully it's enough. The Tassaran Republic begins to gather up all remaining strength to counter what appears to be one powerful assault on their homeworld by the Corrupters. That is where all soldiers will go, all 70,000 of them. United Colonial Initiative The result is known. The operation a success, a victory for the Ganvius Offensive. A small influx of about 2,500 volunteers, ages ranging from late 40s to 50s to as early as 18 come in. An operational gravitiational emitter prototype is being tested to great success, able to pull objects and repel them to a certain distance. Of course, in relativity to its size and power supply it will be able to push and pull respectively sized and heavy or light objects. Or even hold them in place. Fully automatic Gauss Rifles are a heavy task, but the scientists do pickup old Earth research and begin to work on a functional semi-automatic long-range prototype. The communication attempts do reach some of the nations to the North, although they are currently less able to conduct any real trade or make deals, but they do acknowledge the hails and hope for good cooperation in the future. These nations include the Trialition members, the Protorian Council and the Grand Alliance. Knowledge of the remaining galaxy will seep through. United States Of Arcturus The support carrier finishes as planned, joining the growing fleet in orbit. By now though, many of the ships are from their overlords, the Keerim themselves, as they continously appear using the colony as a gathering point for future strikes and engagements. Fortifications continue to prop up around the colonies, bunker systems, tunnel networks, stockpiles of supplies, firing positions for heavy railguns... the list is endless, but they are far from having reached the top. Given how it is impossible to reach the PAR properly with so much hostilities taking place, this effort and resources go wasted. The probe itself vanishes to the same reasons as the big vessel before it. Hephaestus Enterprises LEMONADE. With the insightful input of a distant colleague of the Protorian Council, they manage to find a solution that could work at... inhibiting the process at least. Stasis cells. The Protorian science administration has distributed a dozen old Firstborn stasis cells that are literally capable of halting cellular activity for a specified amount of time. And, as the results show, they appear to affect Corrupter cells just in the same way. Whilst being incredibly high in energy maintenance, they should provide some early cases a chance of being suspended until a true cure is found. And they do find a way. A Backhatta scientist, despite his grudges for his Redon colleagues, does indeed develop a more efficient energy transfer system that should lower the consumption of the weapon by about a quarter. In the meantime, the Confederation of Xaplonius massively assumes the production of the droids, with hundreds of thousands, almost millions of them pouring out of the still mostly untouched industrial facilities of the Grgl. That should buy them time. Thanks to swift action and even some calming input by Rond Trazur himself, the situation remains under control and little but a few drunken brawls are to happen on the colonies. And their search will be of interest. ((Encounter, Skype for details)) THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN All ships and fighters are completed as requested. With railguns already dominating most weaponry for mankind, the improvement of them is of essence. True massdrivers, delivering heavy blows with heavy shells at incredibly high velocity are surely a reachable goal, but it will take a bit. The scientists state they know where they need to go and what to work on. The Rebels are primarily organized under a kind of Galaron government. Not strictly organized, but they do band together to bring back their Republic and drive out the occupying Karass troops, thus far with great success. Silver Knight Corporation The project's result are known. The decision lies with you, how the fleet shall be utilized. The Tassaran forces are gathering at Tassarea for the final battle. All ships are constructed as planned. The Redon Imperium is grateful for the offer, but currently does not see the economic assistance as needed, given their strong infrastructure and economy itself. Perhaps at a later time. Downsizing the normal ship reactors proves to be a bit of a task, as it leads to a series of surprising delays. More time and more effort is needed to solve the power issue and finish the small reactor. People's Agrarian Republic Whilst the support of the USA never arrives, the project wraps up as planned and the dual-phased shields are an available standard for the PAR ships. They manage to develope a reliable first version, that is only applicable to combat knifes, but offers a good foundation for future projects. So far, these mini-Xylorite-cell powered combat knifes should help out to some degree. Secret projects are normally secret. Asgard Republic And so it flies, the small vessel, with a small crew of 50 men on board. A first ship of war, for more to come in certainty. And indeed, they do find a strange black metal, dense and unusually hard. Located on several of the stellar objects in the system it is abundant enough to be properly mined and utilized, given if they figure out how. As it is old, it speaks in riddles. Despite all efforts to find a point to start, nothing offers itself, old defunct systems, destroyed archives and empty storages being most that still remains of this once vast city. In all surprise they receive an answer. In English. ((Encounter)) Porton Technocracy Stealth technology remains a thing of dreams, but they do work on various methods of making it less detectable. So far, there are many ideas and drafts, but no real results yet. It's in work. The foundations of the space station are being worked on for the while being, external contributors, such as the Zyrka offering investments to have it as a staging point to connect North and South, given the Karass are not very... open as a gateway nation. Most of the effort and time are being spent on gathering a good assortment of viable samples, which they do with some success, though they lose a couple of men in the process. Alas, despite all efforts, they are unable to find anything remarkable though. And six yes and signed treaties are on table at the end of the year, with new goods and resources flowing in and exotic and toxic objects leaving. Imperial Republic of Mankind Wide networks of bunkers and tunnels, hidden fortifications and retractable turrets, deep storages for supplies... there is so much being built, but so much more to build still. On the other hand, the new colony comes along nicely, though mining facilities are needed later down the road to obtain the Xylorite. Might be a mixup or just the assumption that the Imperial Republic of Mankind is a partner of the UCI and UCF, but the Ganvius nation sends technology for dual-phased shields to the RoM. The Free Human Technocracy The ship is finished as planned. ((For the AP to the Eadni shipyard, Skype please for a later map update)) The Han Dominion Both ships are finished as planned. The expansion of the shipyard has only just begun. (1/10 AP to SL4). The Rebels begin to gain momentum though, caputring another two sectors from the Loyalists. The East shows heavy engagements between Keerim and Trialition forces, with no clear winner to be seen yet. 19. 185,000 Humans, Warp technology, Quantum Communications, knowledge and direct contact with EVERY northern Galaxy race (because you border the Ar'gakari directly). SL2, a destroyer, two frigates and a colonial freighter.
  20. Rebellions rage and ravage the worlds of the Karass. Dissatisfied Galaron and Humans have risen up against their oppressors, flooding streets, occupying cities, taking over planets and even shipyards and warships. Amongst them are also amounts of Karass, intent to disposing of their feudal rulers. With most of the Karass fleet engaged against the Corrupters far away, the Dominion struggles to keep peace and order at this point. But the flames of war ravage everywhere. Driven in support of the rebels in the Karass domains, the Backhatta Hive has sent out fleets to assist the rebels in their efforts, striking at key locations, destroying shipyards, interrupting any formation of defensive fleets for the Karass... until they are forced to withdraw, their border worlds under direct attack from the new allies of the Karass. The Redon himself has called out this war, broadcasted it publicly across the galaxy, ten seconds before the first reports of Redon strike groups attacking Backhatta outposts appear. Forced by the defensive pact, the Protorian Council yet again enters in a second war against the mighty Redon Imperium, a foe they do respect from the past. But the unraveling continues, as the first Keerim fleet openly attack systems of the Protorians and the Trialition, who are prepared though and immediately begin countermeasures. Heavy space battles ensue in the long stretches of space between the Keerim Imperium and their territories. All in the while, another Corrupter offensive has caught the Tassaran forces after their break in a heavy struggle. They have prepared, but are reeling under the newfound strength of the Corrupters. And in the far west, in a surprise attack, the Kalronian Ystor rule begins its moves for the first time in decades, openly attacking Ganvius systems, who retaliate with equal and relentless force. Two Elder races at direct war with eachother. War rages everywhere, uncontrolled, coalitions fire, nations are pulled to war, death will reign this newly ushered era of the first Southern Galactic War. THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN The destroyer is finished as planned, and soon joins the ranks of the Eadni fleet, bolstering it substantially. With the new industrial complex finished, it is clear that there will be a great excess of production by the end of the year. (You know, additional AP each 20 for you Authoritarians.) From what can be picked up without major effort, is that most of the rebelling worlds are Humans and Galaron. Dissatisfaction and continued oppression by many Karass lords brought them up in arms. The biggest concern for the Karass is to surpress the rebellions and beat them where possible. (Encounter) People's Agrarian Republic For the era of war incoming, the ships (destroyer, two frigates) are finished just as planned. Sometime soon, they will surely become essential for upcoming battles. The energy issue out of the way, a first prototype simply blows up, but only two variables later, the scientist finish a stable prototype. It does not hold its integrity for very long though, but the scientists are confident, with just a bit more time, they can develop a proper dual-phased shield. With the new war at hands, the Protorians in the way they are, leave everyone to the choice to assist them. It is welcome, but if it is to preserve their own people (humans), they must not join. Deriving a little bit from shielding technology, the theory of a force blade is being worked on. A regular combat knife that has a multifolded force field extending over the blade itself is the direction the scientists are pursuing at this point. United Colonial Initiative The second destroyer leaves the shipyard as planned to join its older brother up in the sea of stars. Without any proper resources invested into the project, it makes little progress, aside from picking up old schematics and plans from Earth and ordering them. The clue about gravitational manipulation is by generating an energetic field that draws and repels objects. They enter the concept phase itself, but do not go very much beyond that yet. The preliminary stages continue as planned, when one night, a guardsman witnesses an old gentleman in a white suit showing up in the sealed and secured lab, entering something on a computer there. Within half a minute, he rushes to the lab, to find it empty as if nobody was there. Considering it might have been a lack of sleep, he puts it off and continues his shift. The next morning however, the scientists are simply baffled, as they find fully functional and flawlessly designed schematics for a system that uses the Quantum plane for radio communications. Where it came from and who made it, is simply unknown. United Canadian Front The testing for specific alloys with Itoron bring up two particular viable ones. An Itoron-Aluminium alloy (Itoron A-50) and Itoron-Steel alloy (Itoron S-50) are suggested. The former is lighter, less dense, but still outperforming raw steel, the latter being heavier, but tough and resilient. With ships running on raw Xylorite reactors, they proceed to experiment with various railgun concepts and other trickery. But aside from having a lot of fun in blowing up some mountainsides, they do not produce much. The ships on the other hand are both finished as planned, ready for combat duty as needed. United States Of Arcturus Everywhere new defences are being erected, new tunnel networks, silos, bunkers, gun positions prop up. It's a massive scale project and far from done. A hundred strike craft are built as planned. The Light cruiser leaves its shipyard, another impressive ship to join the fleet. With the onset of this huge war, all trade has been interrupted, as any ships to non-Keerim territories are being assaulted, turned away or destroyed by either Protorian or Trialition forces. The Solarin Federation ((Contact me for the first, details.)) The small support carrier leaves the shipyard as planned. The first variant of Human disruptor rifles to see the light of the stars. Commendable progress for a race in so few years. Silver Knight Corporation And so it is done. And that as well. First Support Carrier to join the Silver Knights. Use it well. Given how rare Dakite is, scratching together such an amount will be tough. In the meantime, the scientists continue their research with an existing mech type that uses regular Itoron S-50. Free Human Technocracy Whilst all ships and fighters are finished as planned, elsewhere the survey yields no results of note, whilst there appears to be a lot of Uranium ore on one of the planets, it's mostly useless by today's standards. A gruesome operation to replace these people's limbs with cybernetic parts, but it does its job nontheless. Imperial Republic of Mankind Utilizing a Redon escort massive amounts of ballistic weaponry are being shipped to a loyalist coreworld. If the people in the Imperium knew they were being used against Galaron, Karass and Humans.... You should probably upgrade to a Silveredge (Dota 2 joke here). ((Education will be handled accordingly later.)) The Han Dominion The production proceeds as planned. ((Poke me for that, need a refresher)) Chaal herself requests an audience with the Han's leadership. ((Encounter)) The Order of Malta The delivery comes in time before the worst happens. And the ship and fighters join the Maltese fleet as planned. The Thulean Republic - Ultima Thule Whilst no remarkable rare resources are found, the mineral riches on the various planets are baffling. There are enough ores and radioactive matter to fuel a growing industry for decades if not centuries. Energy production should pose no problem at all. A humble corvette leaves the shipyard this year, ready for combat duty. Trizendrium is highly volatile. Explosions have shown that in the past. Handling it with care, the scientists try to work out a way to crack open the crystals and maintain the orange goo's stability whilst purifying it or transporting it elsewhere. So far, only success with small and not very viable amounts in a test lab. Hephaestus Enterprises And a visibly aged Tassaran scientist from long ago delivers. Within half a year he whips up schematics for a heavy calibre laser cannon, usable by vehicles and ships, two months later, the prototypes are done and tested, and at the end of the year, the first version is flawless and reliable. Still eats energy though. 300 Eurus Artillery vehicles are carted off to the endless battlefields of the Tassaran Republic. ---- Population growth Imperial Republic of Mankind - 310,500 Humans Terran Federation - 470,250 Humans - 25,250 Grgl - 38,250 Tassarans - 8,500 Libellans - 9,500 Human-Tassarans Silver Knight Company - 289,000 Humans, 19,000 Tassareans, 5,750 Backhatta, 9,000 Redons, 4,000 Human-Redons, 4,750 Human-Tassareans, 19,750 Galaron, 25 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 25 Redon-Tassareans United States of Arcturus - 309,750 Humans, 7,750 Skellar, 7,250 Da'nor, 8,250 Libellans, 16,000 Keerim, 750 Human-Tjieran, 750 Human-Da'nor Aurora - 296,000 Humans, 42,000 Tassareans, 14,500 Grgl, 6,500 Protorians, 7,500 Human-Tassareans, 8,000 Galaron Hephaestus Holdings - 273,500 Humans, 30,500 Grgl, 61,250 Tassareans, 13,250 Human-Tassareans, 8,750 Libellans, 8,750 Redons, 6,250 Backhatta, 5,500 Human-Redons, 36,000 Galaron, 25 Redon-Tassareans, 25 Human-Redon-Tassareans Saga Initiative - 290,500 Humans, 16,250 Da'nor, 5,000 Human-Da'nor The Holy Kingdom of Eadn - 224,000 Humans People's Council of Utopie - 294,500 Humans, 8,250 Protorians, 11,000 Libellans, 17,500 Grgl, 31,500 Tassareans, 9,000 Human-Tassareans, 4,250 Backhatta, 5,250 Skellar, 19,000 Galaron, 500 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 283,000 Humans, 2,000 Ganvians, 3,000 Ceri, 3,250 Tjierans, 3,000 Ascardians, 3,500 Da'nor, 100 Human-Tjierans, 100 Human-Da'nor, 100 Human-Ascardians, 100 Tjieran-Ascardians, 50 Ascardian-Da'nor Han Dominion - 289,500 Humans Aegis - 227,500 Humans, 5,500 Skellar, 5,500 Libellan, 4,000 Da'nor, 4,000 Tjierans, 3,250 Ceri, 3,000 Ascardians, 750 Human-Ascardians, 750 Human-Da'nor, 750 Human-Tjierans, 250 Tjieran-Ascardians, 100 Ascardian-Da'nor United Colonial Initiative - 223,250 Humans United Canadian Front - 210,500 Humans The Colonial Militia - 235,000 Humans Ultima Thule - 189,000 Humans Asgard Republic - 207,500 Humans ---- Events War. Everywhere. The Southern Galaxy sinks into chaos. The Tassaran casualties have reached the 200 million mark. They are on retreat on from so many worlds now, refugees are pouring out of the Republic, an entire nation is sinking into chaos. The Grgl are starting to suffer the first direct assaults from Corrupter fleets. They straight up lose seven battles with two worlds inhabitated by 380 million Grgl in a row. This puts the Grgl casualties up to about 600 million. New Sephoria is integrated into the Tjieran Principate with the onset of the war, in order to prevent their potential annexation by the Keerim and to protect them. Sephoria itself turns into a battlefield itself soon after, as a Ceri-led Trialition fleet manages to beat back a Keerim fleet under heavy losses. Given how other races are dying for them, it appears a selfless act in the eyes of many. Whereever there are Backhatta and Redons living closeby to eachother, hostilities break out between the two people, leading to open fights on the street and general unrest. Many people are split, some in support of the Redons, other for the Backhatta. OFten enough Galaron assist the Backhatta too. Given the intense war that just broke out, most trade is interrupted. ((Refer to me for that.)) ---- Map Update ---- Year 2134 by Earth’s Calendar.
  21. I think this passes. 200k people, SL 3, Warp, Quantum comms. And one colonial freighter. No other ships.
  22. Sounds good. Population of 180,000. SL 2. 2 Destroyers, 1 Colonial Freighters, 2 Small Freighters, Warp, Quantum Communications and a mine of highly explosive Trizendrium.
  23. Welcome onboard, feel free to work on your posts accordingly. Your population will be at 225,000 Humans, SL 2, one colony ship, four frigates, one destroyer, one regular freighter, Warp drive technoloy and Quantum communication systems. If I have forgotten something and you have questions, go ahead and ask.
  24. United States Of Arcturus Without further interference from the new Keerim overlords, the light cruiser is finished as planned and joins the Arcturan fleet. The two corvettes are also finished as planned. The journey of the ship begins, sailing as a civilian vessel through the vast territories of the Protorian Council and Redon Imperium without issues. To avoid confrontation with any potential Karass lords, in a good distance, the ship continues towards the Northwestern parts of the galaxy through no-man's-space. It is uneventful thus far. The first part of the journey has a few checkpoints and some other vessels passing by, but the later is spent mostly in sheer silence. Minor radio communication can be received from Karass space, a science vessel is met in a solar system briefly, but they mostly heeded to their own business. And then they reach the space where the charts end. The expansive Northwestern region, that holds no known inhabitants. They proceed their journey for two weeks, spotting one or the other inhabitable planet, until they suddenly enter a system so densely populated that all sensors trigger almost immediately upon entry. (Encounter) This depends on where and how far the search is to go and what the parameters are... (Skype for details) Secret stuff is secret. THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN The colony ship leaves port as planned, a new stepping stone for the Kingdom on its path to greatness. Trade with the outer Karass systems is permitted. The survey of the various bodies in the system reveal that one of them in particular holds massive amounts of what the Karass describe as Xylorite. A crystal with high density and extreme amounts of potential energy. Treated with care and utilized properly it can efficiently fuel ships for long journeys and power other things. Two sectors to the Northwest, already in close proximity to the Central Cloud, a huge structure is discovered by a frigate, that continues to send short-lived and very distorted signals. Luckily, due to the close proximity they were able to ascertain it is artificial and came to check up. The structure appears to be a massive space station in orbit around a geologically active planet close to its host star. The Solarin Federation All three ships are finished as planned. A substantial addition to the fleet of the Federation. The colonial freighter remains unfinished in orbit. With the little effort given by the various members, there is no progress to be seen this year. By the end of the year, only five-hundred tank bots are being produced. It is not much, but given the allocated resources, they were not able to facilitate much more than that. The production of the infantry combat armor though, goes quite well, and already two-thousand units of each combat armor variant are ready for usage in the armories. The Tassaran Republic simply appreciates any help. United Colonial Initiative The finalisation and retrofitting goes without issue, and soon all ships can travel beyond the confinments of the colony's solar system. It might be a stroke of luck, but already in the first system in the sector to the North, they find a Terran planet, very much alike Earth... too much alike Earth. Some parts of the Fauna they are able to observe are pretty much... Earth's plants. Something seems to be afoot. The corvettes are finished as planned, new warp drives included. People's Agrarian Republic Despite the most generous gift of the Imperial Republic, its schematics and functions are not necessarily what the scientists are looking for. The bulky massive heavy infantry armor is the opposite of what the scientists are researching, with their lightweight combat armor with integrated jump packs. Nontheless, the first version is properly finished and readied for mass production. They are able to combine existing blueprints and research from various servant and combat droids, from farming bots, etc. The result is a four legged heavy walker with an integrated Xylorite reactor, on which they simply slapped shield emitters. The single phased shields they generate are a dome of a safezone. The only issue right now, is that they have to immobilize themselves and dig in, in order to maintain the shield. As a stationary zone of protection useful though. The shield's density is lower on ground level, allowing for a person to walk through it with some effort. It does not truly protect from directed heavy fire though. Power blades as they are called by the PAR, are nothing new. The Redon and Protorian forces have force blades they utilize, the Redons even field specialized melee only infantry. Other nations have their infantry with normal hardened combat knifes, Itoron edged, tipped or full Itoron, some with additional force blade enhancements that extend the knife and give it additional cutting power. It is not easy to get something like that going, depending on what approach should be taken. One-thousand suits of the armor are done by the end of the year, certainly providing a heavy backbone to the forces of the PAR. 2,000 Hunters and 500 tank bots join the PAR's mechanized forces. Hephaestus Enterprises 15,000 new Tithonus robots. It's like a droplet of pure water for the thirsty Tassaran soldier. But it has its effect. Hope. Whereever a Tassaran company falls to shambles, the robots are deployed, stoically marching straight into the Corrupters, shooting them left, right and center. Relief is what the worn out Tassaran forces need in any form or shape. 1,500 Alastors join their little brethren to act as bulwarks in the oceans of Corrupters that often engage the machines in melee, suffering incredible losses, although they do destroy them. Lemonade is made. The Archivar invites the representatives of Hephaestus personally to Proteum Davun, the Protorian homeworld. (Encounter) Silver Knight Corporation He was a knight of the round table. (Skype for details) More drilling takes place as they strike a new vein of ore in the existing mine shafts. Whilst the Mechs are produced, the Tassaran Republic simply lacks the resources at this point to effectively buy anything. They can at most offer consumer goods, such as furniture and household appliances. Another frigate is finished, prepared to do battle in the name of the Silver Knights. Imperial Republic of Mankind And thus the first Imperial Destroyer takes its place as (current) flagship (or biggest ship) of the Imperial navy. It should give the fleet some edge in hostile encounters with only minor vessels. The new suits, rifles, bayonets are all finished as planned, bolstering the heavy infantry quite substantially. What follows next, is the training of course. Given, from the experience they have obtained in the battle there is one particular tactic that works well against the Corrupters. Concentrated firepower. Whenever they charge, try to focus and bundle firepower on their mainbulk of forces. In uncovered areas, especially devastating. Firing lines and group formations are soon a standard for the space marines of the Imperial Republic. They are abducted without incident, from less developed nations and regions on the world of these people. The children cry most of the time and do not understand a single word of what the humans speak. It is... unjust. Free Human Technocracy The Eadni shipyard begins to undergo one of its biggest extensions yet. (2/20 AP to SL 5.) In the existing sections however, a new ship is being assembled. Halfway done, it should see starlight in another year. (4/8 AP to Carrier) Both scouting ventures yield positive results in the matter of habitable planets. The sector to the West sports a system with two Arctic planets around a very cool star. The sector to the East sports a system with a tropical planet in the habitable zone. United Canadian Front An alpine planet in a system proves to be a viable choice for the new colony. Flora and Fauna are peaceful, the enviroment is not hostile, mild summers and winters dominating the seasons. The planet appears to have plenty of water in rivers and lakes, but sports not a single ocean. The best idea that is immediately followed up upon, is to utilize laser cutters as mining equipment, as it allows for precise mining of specific chunks of ore, without destabilizing any potential shafts through tremors caused by drills and explosions. Not that the old methods would be replaced of course, but the right combination should bring a new level of efficiency. The Quantum Communication Systems work... supposedly. So they send, and send, and send. After a month of trying, a foreign ship suddenly appears in the home system, heading straight for the colony. (Encounter) The Han Dominion The expansion of the shipyard continues to progress as planned. (2/6 AP to SL 3.) The planned ship and fighters are ready by the end of the year, bolstering the Dominion's forces a bit more. The genetic engineering research progresses horrifingly slowly. It is not a potential inability of the scientists, but more the difficult, complex and heavy essence of the subject at hand. ---- Population growth Imperial Republic of Mankind - 262,500 Humans Terran Federation - 430,500 Humans - 16,000 Grgl - 20,000 Tassarans - 5,750 Libellans - 5,750 Human-Tassarans New Sephoria - 320,000 Humans, 5,500 Protorians, 500 Human-Protorians Silver Knight Company - 250,000 Humans, 5,500 Tassareans, 3,250 Backhatta, 6,000 Redons, 2,500 Human-Redons, 2,500 Human-Tassareans, 12,000 Galaron, 3 Human-Redon-Tassareans, 5 Redon-Tassareans United States of Arcturus - 268,500 Humans, 4,250 Skellar, 2,500 Da'nor, 5,500 Libellans, 8,000 Keerim Aurora - 252,000 Humans, 9,500 Tassareans, 10,000 Grgl, 2,500 Protorians, 3,500 Human-Tassareans, 5,000 Galaron Hephaestus Holdings - 233,000 Humans, 20,000 Grgl, 15,000 Tassareans, 7,500 Human-Tassareans, 4,000 Libellans, 4,500 Redons, 3,250 Backhatta, 2,000 Human-Redons, 26,500 Galaron, 10 Redon-Tassareans, 2 Human-Redon-Tassareans Saga Initiative - 245,000 Humans, 9,500 Da'nor, 2,250 Human-Da'nor The Holy Kingdom of Eadn - 170,000 Humans People's Council of Utopie - 250,500 Humans, 4,500 Protorians, 6,500 Libellans, 12,000 Grgl, 6,500 Tassareans, 3,500 Human-Tassareans, 2,250 Backhatta, 2,250 Skellar, 11,500 Galaron, 250 Human-Protorians Order of Malta - 242,500 Humans, 500 Ganvians, 750 Ceri, 1,000 Tjierans, 1,250 Ascardians, 1,250 Da'nor, 50 Human-Tjierans, 50 Human-Da'nor, 50 Human-Ascardians, 50 Tjieran-Ascardians, 25 Ascardian-Da'nor Han Dominion - 238,500 Humans Aegis - 182,500 Humans, 2,500 Skellar, 2,500 Libellan, 1,750 Da'nor, 1,750 Tjierans, 750 Ceri, 1,500 Ascardians, 250 Human-Ascardians, 250 Human-Da'nor, 250 Human-Tjierans, 50 Tjieran-Ascardians, 50 Ascardian-Da'nor United Colonial Initiative - 187,000 Humans United Canadian Front - 170,000 Humans ---- Events The Tassaran Republic has currently 400 million men in arms. The suffered losses amount to 23 million (no civilian losses). An estimate of 300 million Corrupters have fallen up until now. The fourth battle of Tassarea ends with a victory for the defending Tassareans and their human allies. It's a brief break. The Skellar Kingdom and Libellan Union both announce the cessation of hostilities against the Keerim and acknowledge their new status as client states of the Imperium. The Keerim have halted any ongoing movements currently and are not hostile towards anyone. Entry into the Imperium is prohibited though, only citizens of the three client states may enter specific systems in the Imperium. In a surprise maneuver, a massive fleet of the Karass Dominion has openly began to assault the Corrupter domains, tearing wide gaps into their supply lines and infrastructure, causing havoc, relieving the non-stop pressured Tassaran Republic for real the first time. The Karass forces are stationed and supplied by the Confederation of Xaplonius, who apparently knew beforehand about the maneuver, though per agreement did not announce it. A ship manned by... space parrots appears to tour various human colonies. They call themselves Zyrka, belonging to a company named Zyrka engineering. They took a long route around West, past Karass Dominion space, and are here to explore and potentially trade, technology or wares.
