  1. "Lord of the Craft" may not be original, but what about "Anthos" "Aegis", the elvish language, the Dwarven Brathmordakin, the Adunians, Orcs actually being honorable? These are things that, yes, still have their unoriginal tidbits, but they're a mash of unoriginal parts and creativity. There's a difference between near copy, and creatively inspired.

  2. Alright, I'll make all you players a deal. If you can write me up a definition of trolling that myself and the staff agree on, and make sure that a majority of the playerbase agrees too, I will crack down. But at this point, sometimes trolling is trolling, and sometimes it is a friend making a joke to another friend. It's a very VERY difficult thing to crack down on. Believe me, I've tried.

So there you are. If you can give me your best definition of exactly what separates trolling from a joke, I'll enforce it completely. But afterward, if anyone who participated in the making of that definition comes back to bash on me for banning a troll that was their friend, just remember that I warned you I would be cracking down.

  3. Alright, many of you have probably heard the song that I wrote for Adunia, and some of you were there for the Creative Café performance last week... or maybe the week before...

Anyway, I'm planning on writing some songs for each of the races and preferably many of the subraces, but my knowledge is sadly limited on how they work or what they might write a song about. That's where YOU all come in! ((dingdingdiiing)). I need some information on what your particular race/subrace might write a song about, as well as some feedback on the song once it's written. If you'd like to help out, feel free to message me on the forums or even reply on this thread. Tell me the race and subrace of your preference or the one you're most knowledgeable of, and we can get started! Thanks so much for your help!

Another task I need done is to actually start adding music to my songs. As much as I enjoy singing Acapella, it typically sounds a lot better with music. If you have any talent and ability playing and/or recording ANY instrument, as well as being willing to help, please let me know! I usually know the tune I want, but due to my inability to actually play too many instruments, I really need some help in that department.

Thirdly, and finally, I would REALLY like some more voices to add to certain songs. I'm sure you all love my voice, blahblahblah, but some races and some songs need less fairy voices and more umph! Especially when I start writing Uruk songs - my light airy voice really isn't going to cut it in that case.

So please please pleaaaase help me out! It'll be a ton of fun.

  4. I have every intention of enforcing this rule far more strictly, and I'll do what I can to get the other GMS to do so as well. This is not right, not in any way shape or form. In the meantime, would anyone like to help me come up with some legitimate LOTC swears and insults? Then maybe we can enforce people to stop using ooc swears and ooc/modern insults as well. If you would like to help out, send me a message on skype.

  5.

Except, the Human could win due to being more agile while the Uruk could be slow. Or maybe this Uruk, while strong, could be in full bloodlust and swinging his axe wildly while the Human is making better blows?

Okay... just gonna point this out really quick. Uruks are not big and slow. They may be slow mentally, but physically they are destructive monsters. The ONLY way a human is going to win is in a group, Uruks are not built to be slow, they're meant to kill and raised to kill, which means they have the edge on any other. Uruks win, hands down. And Bloodlust is NOT like anger. It makes them even MORE likely to kill something. It doesn't mean that they get in a rage and run around making battle mistakes. It means they want to kill something and they are going to kill it. Just clearing that up for you.

  6. Just to add this in here, I've had some fantastic experiences with 20+ rp fights. Granted, there were a few missed emotes here and there, and there were a few accidents and some confusion, but the biggest thing that helped make it good was the fact that people said, "It's okay, why don't we do this" "Okay, that works" and cooperated with each other instead of trying to win. The majority of those ended in careful ties, and it was just fine.

I've been in terrible large rp fights as well. You know what made the difference? "You can't do that, it doesn't make sense." "Yes I can too, I've been training for like fifty years" "Well that doesn't work so take it back". Hm. Bickering IS a problem, innit?

  7. If the chicken ate twelve bits of uncooked rice then ran across the roads at speeds of 12 km per hour with a car coming from one direction at fourty km an hour and a semi-truck coming from the other direction at sixty km per hour, with the grocery store baker coming after the chicken at six km per hour, would the chicken make it to the green cow pastures on the other side of the road?

  8. I agree... somewhat. If the roleplay is particularly bad, then really it would only make things worse, not better. Maybe if someone wants to have the nation leader killed permanently they can get a GM to watch the rp and then if it IS superb they must perma. I dunno, it doesn't seem right to force them on the off chance the rp really is bad.

  9. Okay, I have a bit of a thing to note on this, and since I am a Gm, that's what I'll be focusing on. For one thing, what exactly defines a GMs "quota". Modreqs? Because i can assure you, and any of the others can too, that I certainly try to do modreqs and claim ban reports, but unfortunately I don't always catch all of them. More often than not, when i can do modreqs, i can't type fast enough to get them before one of the others. Same goes for ban reports.

Half of the things gms do are privately requested too. How would you count them?

And in the case of people like me, who work eight hours five days a week, have no computer, no internet, and got to a library every day to type their heart out messaging five people at once then go home and sit on skype and the forums for hours, even downloading mc chat for android just to try and make modreq quota and still can't make it... do they get kicked off of a volunteer position because their real life is crap?

If any of the admins or gms didn't care about the server they probably WOULDN'T be here. Why would they waste time being pmd and pmd and raged at and harassed day in and day out if they didn't really want to help? Believe me, in the case of gms at least I can say that it is VERY difficult to do the job. Not because of complicated commands or difficult judgement calls, though those are plenty tough. But you have to have the right emotional balance. You have to be confidant in yourself, confidance not just bravado, to be able to take it if half the server hates you for something. For people spreading rumors about you behind your back, and ou have to posses that incredibly rare ability to not hold a grudge. If you can find enough people who can do that, maybe you can consider wiping out those who can now.

Piece said. Probably should have waited until the morning but it's too late now.
