Elokarir'mali Selected, Elokarir'nor Sought
Dewb0ne replied to Daisy's topic in Athera Roleplay Archive
Thallan walks before the small crowd that had gathered just outside of the inn, coughing rather loudly so as to attain their attention. When there is silence, he raised his right arm so as to create emphasis, and begins to speak, his eyes flicking between members of the audience every now and again as he does so. "Lliran, Mali'aheral, Mali'thilln. I stand before you once more as you gather, this time, however, to run for the position of Elokarir'nor - the Master of the Land. This role, far less prominent, yet perhaps just as important as that of Okarir'mali, is, as one hopes to prove to you today, much better suited to both myself and my working ethic. Now, on with the speech! "In the cihi of Annil'sul, before its inevitable destruction, I, along with a set few others, I remember Ikur as being one, would take on the sole responsibility to man the farms, growing and collecting produce in the most efficient way as we could. As many times as five in an Elven week would I find myself in that field, cutting, replanting and cutting again; it was, to be frank, an endless cycle though it never did wear me down. Through this continuous practice, I honed in upon my rather lacking farming skills, improving them to such a level as one believes would qualify me to upholster this position and the duties therein. "Having spoken of farming efficiency, one presumes that I should build upon this point so as to benefit my cause in this competition, of sorts. As I'm sure many of those gathered are aware, the farms within elcihi are in a most messy and dishevelled state, equivalent in aesthetic charm, perhaps, as a farm of Elbortu. The farmable acreage of the Blessed Haelun'or should be as organised as its tenders - meaning it to be both clean and tidy, worthy of our most unprofane hands to administer it. Having said this, the current farms do the job which they are assigned to do, much the opposite as to what one would expect when looking at it. This, however, is not enough; just enough is never enough. Similar to the days of Annil'sul and before, I wish to redeem this farm, raising it to a level of efficiency that our people may be proud of. "A quota, lliran, can easily be organised and this is nothing to worry about. Reporting, also, shan't be a problem should I be appointed. And as for the `assurance` section of this duty list you see just to my left, I have been completing these actions on a daily basis, yet not so regularly as of recent, I am afraid to say. Miss Lazul, for instance, would be able to concur with those of you bothered to ask that I have, in the past, donated blank books to the most wonderful libraries that we have had in times gone by. Furthermore, I shall hold my hand up and say to you that I have donated food, namely bread, toward this inn that I stand before. "I have much more to say, yet I fear that it would bore you a great deal, so I shall bring my electoral speech to a halt, leaving my hope and aspirations in your hands, lliran. Please vote wisely. Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya." Thallan watches over the crowd for a short while, his gaze closing in upon every one in attendance, before he mutters a swift `Van'ayla,` as he strides away, opening the door to the inn, striding inside. ((My text colours have messed up again so it looks plain and bland >_>)) -

Thallan strides forth before a small crowd, his opulent robes billowing behind him as if caught in a breeze. For several moments he remains stationary, his eyes flickering from person to person as if studying one and all intently. Clearing his voice with a single cough, he begins to speak, using his raised right arm to gesticulate toward those gathered. "Lliran, perhaps, with myself seeing so many faces of confusion before me, it would do myself a great good to begin by introducing oneself, as it is rather clear to see that many among the gathered are most unawares to my presence amidst Elmali'aheral. I, as one hopes you shall soon learn, am Thallan Tal'iheiuh, and I wish to run for the positon of Okarir'mali for our most blessed cihi and those who reside therein. "Should one receive the majority vote and be elected into office, I shall remain both dedicated and committed to upholster the exceptional work that those who have been appointed the title in the past have produced. Furthermore, I shall consolidate upon previous Okarir'malian and build upon this, extending the already most impressive work that this role performs on the behalf of elcihi onto a level of both higher performance and excellence. One shall do as follows:" At this point, Thallan recalls his arm, placing both firmly behind his back, his hands clasping together with a strong grip. Pacing back and forth repeatedly, he would continue, his voice raised to more of a bellow: "Once the highly effective construction within elcihi has halted following completion, one senses that there shall be a large rush by all so as to attain a place of residence - a home. Said rush, should one be elected, will provide no worry to a single Elf; all Mali'aheral shall be issued with housing free of charge, all of which shall provide shelter, comfort and warmth (this is, of course, assuming that they are a legal citizen and have completed the housing application form released not so long ago). The health of our people is my utmost priority, and fulfilling their required needs a close second. "As for the entry of new Mali'aheral (all of whom shall be Mali'thilln), the task of greeting and accepting new High Elves into Haelun'or shall come as no problem to me. Many a time have I stood by whilst another Mali questions those who arrive to the gates, pleading for entry, frequently being sent away. I, too, have participated in the acceptance of three or so Mali'aheral. This experience, I believe, permits me to perform this aspect of the role at offer to an exceptional standard. However, I do not believe that this is a job for solely one Elf to fulfil. I present to you now the idea for the implementation of a set few, by name, perhaps, Elanniliran, who's prime reason of existence is to assist all new entrants with their needs. "This note, lliran, which provides nominees with a set list of sorts as to what must be done in the position of Elokarir'mali, refers to `interaction` as an important factor for the electoral victor. I speak with those around me as much as possible, helping both them and myself to solve daily problems which one may be faced with. This is, as far as one understands, what said note wishes from an Okarir'mali when referring to `interaction` within elcihi. "Though I have only covered three or so of the credentials needed for this post, I believe that one has provided enough information so as to display to you my worth to become this important figure within Haelun'or. This, lliran, is why I, Thallan Tal'iheiuh, should be presented with the title of Okarir'mali for Elmali'aheral. "As a final note, perhaps so as to quench your needs for at least the slightest insight into my personality, I shall speak shortly upon my rather platitudinous past. Being currently of age 213, I was born in Aegis in the year 1274. Since this time, I have always resided among my kin, remaining ever pure in doing so. Though I have not ran for any political positions in this time, do not be put off by this, as I believe that I have the capabilities to undertake the great task that this role will provide the candidate who receives the most votes. I thank you for listening Lliran." He bows swiftly, muttering a goodbye of sorts, before turning upon his heel and striding away.

Seeing the poster, Thallan takes it down temporarily so as to attain a better reading position. Having done so, he scans the information therein, murmuring to himself: "A fencing competition? I do not see a clear reason as to why one should not participate." ((I went ahead and assumed that this was some kind of poster. Furthermore, does the 5 O'clock refer to GMT or EST? Or another?))

~~The Implementation Of An Okarir'nor~~
Dewb0ne replied to Dewb0ne's topic in Athera Roleplay Archive
"It seems, llir, that you have proven all that I have set out to do useless. Perhaps creating Elokarir'nor would be ikru. Ahernan, Mali'ker." Thallan steps down from the fountain, his brows furrowed in thought. He joins the crowd, beginning to converse with another Mali. ((Sorry that there's no pretty colours. I'm posting this from mobile!)) -
~~The Implementation Of An Okarir'nor~~
Dewb0ne replied to Dewb0ne's topic in Athera Roleplay Archive
Thallan turns his gaze to Della "Llir, I apolagise; I was totally unawares to this fact. However, one must note that, however bright your intentions are, you simply cannot expect Elmali'aheral to simply come over to you, taking your catch. I, especially, would not do so, since you told me, when I enquired, that you were keeping the fish, so as to teach a Malii. Other than that, I understand what you are saying." -
As a small crowd gathers in the Commons Area, Thallan steps up onto the base of the fountain, being careful so as to not fall in and make a fool of himself. Clearing his throat with a single and brisk cough, he begins to speak aloud: "Karin'ayla lliran, "As I'm sure most of you are aware, the home of Elmali is, as of current, being plagued by the effects of hunger and starvation. People are beginning to ask around endlessly for something to eat. Think, now, to yourself: how many times today have you been asked to give away food to another, or have seen it happen to someone else? It is everywhere, and it is not acceptable. In an attempt to put an end to the needless hunger within Haelun'or, I myself have worked the farm endlessly for this past seed, gathering wheat and melon slices, quickly and, if I may say so myself, efficiently. In accompaniment with the Okarir'lliran, I was able to plant one hundred or so seeds, farming each of these seed's crop in turn. This has supplied our nation with a bountiful amount of food. "However, the earlier mentioned efficiency, I believe, shall not go on much longer with just a single Mali on the farm. It is in my interests that a position known as `Okarir'nor` is implemented into daily life in elcihi. When I approached Elsohaer about this, he described it as a post that has been left in the wayside for a long time. This is, of course, true: the idea that I am proposing has not passed the minds of many for years. Yet now, in this time of need, I believe it should be put into use. Elokarir'nor would have the task of leading a small group (whose name, I must say, I am yet to decide on) of Mali whose job is simply to carry out elnor'sae that is required to supply Haelun'or with food. "I, Thallan Tal'iheiuh, am fully prepared to, if this speech of mine goes well, that is, become the Okarir'nor. This post, one thinks, is perfect for me, I am both skilled in nor'sae and leading comes easy to me. Is this not what is required for such a position? "Thank you, lliran. Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. Please feel free to call out your opinions." ((I have currently (the time this post was made) made 4 2/3 stacks of bread, 2 and a half stacks of melon and 40 carrots))

Thallan takes down one of the appropriate applications, holding up to the light; he does this for several moments, reading over each question carefully before filling out the application. ((MC Name: dewran)) Name: Thallan Tal'iheiuh Age: 212 Gender: Male Origins of your birth: I was born in Haelun'or, Asulon, in the year of 1256. How long have you resided with the blessed Mali'aheral? Since my birth in elcihi'thilln, I have always been at ease alongside my fellow Mali'aheral, living amongst them. Why do you wish to become a citizen of our cihi? I have resided within our walls for all my life, and I believe I have the right to do so again. How can you declare you are Mali'thill? I have all the physical features of a Mali'aheral and I think in the same way as my thill ancestors, implying that I have a good purity of mind, another trait of our kind. Furthermore, why else would one have wished to reside within the walls of all of the Mali'aheral residences since the days of Dio Astoré? And surely, of course, our race of such great intellect would have been able to pick me out as different from a crowd, had I been impure, in this lengthy time that I have lived among them. This, I believe, proves myself as Mali'thill. What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you? That we must always protect the walls of our home from those of an impure bloodline, so as to protect both the city's purity, and our large bank of knowledge that we have collected. Protecting both the health and knowledge of the Mali'aheral. What is your personal vision for our blessed race? That the Mali'aheral, as the superior race, can prosper for many years to come, studying and learning alongside one another, untethered by the annoyances that are the other races, all following the same base ideal: maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. Are there any other details about yourself that you wish to relay to the mali'aheral? Example: professions and positions. I am, if it is of the interest of the reader, adequate in the arts of Woodworking, yet I prefer to spend my time in a secluded, isolated location, reading and writing to my heart's content.

Haelun'or Citizenship Application

Thallan tears one of the scrolls from the wall, being careful, trying his hardest not to rip the document too badly. Taking it from the notice board, he then studies it over for a minute or so, thinking over each question. (( MC Account Name: dewran)) Full name: Thallan Tal'iheiuh Gender: Male Age (In exact years): 212 Profession, if applicable: I am adequate in the art of woodworking, yet I much prefer spending my time writing and reading in a surreal (and quiet) location. I have all of the physical features of a Mali'aheral and I think in the same way as my thill ancestors, implying that I have a good purity of mind, another trait of our kind. Furthermore, why else would one have wished to reside within the walls of all of the Mali'aheral residences since the days of Dio Astoré? That the Mali'aheral, as the superior race, can prosper for many years to come, studying and learning alongside one another, untethered from the annoyances that are the other races, all following the same base ideal: maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.- 20 replies
