  1. OOC MC Name: Tom_the_crafta Reasons you wish to join?: It would enhance my roleplay and I would learn more about the server both ic and ooc. Do you believe you can provide enjoyable and interesting RP to the community as well as the Association?: Yes IC Character Name: I discarded my original long ago. Now I go by Aceala' Vuln, but most, not realizing that Vuln is not my surname call me Aceala'. I prefer one over the other, but I always found it interesting. Character details(race, age, gender, etc.): I suppose I am a male Dark Elf with dark eyes, black hair and usual hue of skin of blue. I am quite young, well for an elf at 128. I think I am average height, though after leaving I have not met enough elves to be certain. The particular hue of my skin, due to claimed high occurrence of deformalalites is a regrettable, blue. *New* - A short bio/roleplay event describing your character, and how they came to discover the poster. One day began as usual. Wake up. Put on my boots and leather greaves. Clean my sword. Put on my belt. Report to post. Like usual, nothing was going on. A lone cloud sailed high up in the sky. A few of the nobles were there but they were inside the house, far from the gate. Since the House of Valois was in such close proximity to the monks village I went quite often. I looked around for someone to talk to but everyone seemed to be gone. I checked the message board. The same as it had been for days. I looked down with disappointment I started to walk away but then a paper was out of place. The monks must of just rehung all the notes in an immaculate arrangement but one was different. I examined it more closely, it had some writing on it. "The Association of Robed Librarians." I continued reading, intrigued. "We are looking for people to become assistant librarians ..." I knew right then this must have been what I was waiting here for all along. A chance to finally be able to study like I had before. I scanned the note for where I must go to find this great place.

In-Character Details Character Name: Acaele’ Vuln Character Race: Elf Character Sub-race:Dark Elf Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: I began my life in the elvish capital of Normander; it had just recently been moved from its previous location in Laurelin after its destruction when the undead horde attacked. My family was well off since my father was a warden in the sentential of Normander. We had everything we could ever need. Our house was bigger than most of our neighbors. A servant tended our house and catered to our every need. We never had to worry about money. I was allowed to do anything I wanted. As I grew older things started to change. He brought in a local tutor to teach me about government, science, history, politics and how to read and write. I loved learning; I was excited every time someone came to the door hoping that it was my tutor. There was one thing that interested me the most, when I was conversing of history the tutor told me story once of strange people with special abilities. They were responsible for keeping order in the world and when the undead attacked the these people, mages I think he called them, fought the undead at the Snowy Fields. It was a valiant fight by the mages to hold back the undead but undead stormed both gates and launched fiery orbs of destruction, killing many of the townsmen and some of the mages. I still had many questions for the tutor. How did these people have such powers and who were these people? He only said they were mages and they got their power from studying arcane magic. My father overheard us talking of magic and he grew furious. My tutor tried futilely to explain to him that were just discussing the history of Aegis but he wouldn’t listen. He yelled at me saying that “I was to become the sentinel of Normandor and how could I do that if I was off studying useless magic. Magic is for the undead, you will be protecting the proud people of Normandor. I will not take any excuses. In three eleven weeks I am sending you to Willvanash to start your training. Maybe the harsh cold will freeze some sense into you. From now on you will only be taught in military tactics until you leave. That’s final.” I needed to think of a plan to avoid this awful fate. I wanted to learn, not go off to a bitterly cold training ground. I thought of a plan that might work. So I would go along to Willvanash just like my father wanted, then when I arrived I would purposely act like I was not physically capable of being a Sentinel and they would be forced to send my back. This didn’t work out how I thought it would. As I traveled closer and closer to Willvanash a feeling of dread began to creep over me. When I arrived I was met by a dreary view of this repulsive looking city. Sounds of drills off in the distance made my ears sting. I couldn’t believe I was forced to come here. I cannot see why anyone would want to. I guess it would show dedication and make you tougher. Day after day me and the other recruits lived a difficult life involved with little rest, food, and comfort. We spent hours in the frigid temperatures drilling and training. When we weren’t outside they taught us about strategy, how to identify criminals and other things I didn’t care about. My plan had backfired on me, instead of showing that I was not fit for being a sentinel they told me I wouldn’t leave until I was. I was forced to stay twice as long as all the other trainees. I didn’t want to join the Sentinels before now I really disdained it. The only thing I got out of it was skill in the sword and little with the bow. Staying for twice as long meant I had twice as much time and practice then everyone else but I still couldn’t stand this horrible place. When I finally got back from this horrid experience I was relieved. Soon after, my father was bearing down on me again. He told me now that I have training that I must now become a sentinel. I had recently seen a message posted on the public boards saying that the sentinels were recruiting for there navy. This gave me a brilliant idea. It was part of the Sentinels but I had no training about seafaring and my time at Willvanash would be wasted. I often talk long walks through the forest when I get frustrated, upset, angry, sad or when I can’t sleep. Slightly dangerous with many monsters about, but if you stuck close to the roads or the city you remained reasonably safe. Every time I walked a noise always seemed to be following me. Not one you commonly hear. It wasn’t bug or a bird. At least I didn’t think it was a bird. It definably wasn’t a growl so it couldn’t have been a wolf. It was a very long time till I figured out what the noise was. It was a raven. It had been attracted by my silver necklace I think. When I finally saw the bird it fly down and tried to pick the necklace up after I had set it down while washing my clothes in a nearby river. It was a comical sight as the bird struggled to lift it but could not succeed. I had a piece of wire in my pocket and gave to the bird, I had heard they like shinny things. Over time I gave the bird many different objects, a broken hand of a clock, wire, a needle and a nail. Eventually, the bird started following me not only in the forest but also out into the city. Now it rides on my shoulder or wrist. Because of my necklace that it tried to pickup I decided to name him, thilln, what I think is ancient elvish for silver. Currently I am 5’10”, 127 years old; I have purple eyes, long dark grey eyes, grey skin. I wear my short with it just above my eyes. I am lean and not very muscular. I carry a back blade and dagger for protection. I am going to join the navy to try and earn enough minas to continue my studies specifically on magic. Maybe one day I’ll be accepted to the magic guild I heard stories about so long ago. What are your characters ambitions?: To become a mage in the Mage's Order. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Studying magic is not looked highly upon by most so my character is secretive and distrusting of others. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I was traveling to Arethor on a lead I gotten from someone in Normander saying there maybe someone who could teach me more about magic. I walked quietly ignoring the other travelers. I listened to the gentle sway of the trees and the slight whoosh of the summer breeze. As I neared the city gate I could hear somebody shouting to passer-bys to buy his goods. I hate people like this; I was just trying to think about a complicated science concept I just learned when a he interrupted me. As I walked closer to him I saw he was dwarf in dingy clothing. I couldn’t stand dwarves; they thought they were so great because they were good at mining and crafting. Elves were far superior to dwarves. We had beautiful cities and grace while they envied them with the hideous constructions of a city. I knew as soon as I saw him there was no way I would buy anything from this dwarf. “Hail, would like to buy some bread from me, or how about a nice wool blanket?” *sneers at the dwarf and crosses arms in disgust* “I will not buy any of your low quality goods, in fact those might even by stolen for all I know.” “My goods are not stolen and they are not low quality, I am just a poor dwarf trying to survive in a new city.” “Ah, there is your problem; you should have stayed where you belong, with other dwarfs.” “But, I have many debts back home. I would never be able to go back so I came here won’t you help me?” *Shakes his head side to side* “You don’t understand do you? I do not wish to help you; your words mean little to me.” “If you were in my situation, would you want me to help you?’ “I would only care about my own problems and leave others to deal with theirs.” * After finishing, turns his back to the dwarf and begins to walk away* “Wait! I offer you a special de …” *Ignores dwarf and keeps walking* “That was rather annoying, now back to the reason I came here.” You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? It’s late summer and I am walking along the Oren Road. The full moon shines down and the soft whirr of crickets can be heard. An owl hoots off in the distance. I couldn’t sleep so I decided to go for a walk, probably not the safest idea. I hear talking up head so I slow down to investigate. I quietly approach the scene. Soon two figures begin to come into view, without enough light they just appeared as silhouettes. Slowly I creep forward; I start to begin hearing what they are saying. One voice should gruff and strong while the other sounds incoherent. “Pinkskin give minaz to mee or mee slice youz with big stabie skowd” “No, no here just let me get out my some for you.” “Fazta pinkie, fazta.” “Um, uh well I don’t have any minas on me, I guess you just have to let me go.” “Pinkskin, Brushakk givez you un mowr chamce, give mees minas!” If I just watched these events unfold the dwarf would surely end up badly beaten and battered. Then again it was just a lowly dwarf. I decided to dwarf deserved his fate and I would not intervene. Even if I stepped in I probably would only end up getting myself injured or dead. *quietly turns around and starts walking away* “Mees heairz zometin” The orc lets go or the dwarf with one of his hands for a moment. Trying to seize the oppuntunity the dwarf tries to pull away from the orc. The orc hits the dwarf hard in chest and the dwarf wheezes. The orc starts dragging the dwarf towards me. “Come omn pinkskin, wez gooin to finld da noyse.” What was I going to do? I had to act quickly. “This is the Oren Guard violence is not tolerated in our kingdom leave now or we will kill you!” Hopefully the orc couldn’t distinguish by my voice that I was a dark elf not a human and then realize only humans would be a guard. I heard running and the sounds grow fainting and fainting, I assumed then orc was running the other way to avoid capture. “Why did you save me?” “I didn’t save you I saved myself, I didn’t want to be attacked by the orc. You happened to be freed.” “Well, thank you anyways.” *Remains silent and motionless* “Aren’t you going to say your welcome or something?” “Not a to dwarf.” “Do you want to travel back to Arethor with me, will be less likely to be attacked if there is two of us.” “I think I’m fine, I can actually defend myself rather than hoping a stranger will rescue me.” “Are you sure? We’d be much safer.” “I am quite sure, leave me.” “Okay, when you’re attacked by bandits don’t blame me.” Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I was back to Malinor after searching for a rare flower in the woods for my latest alchemy project when I saw a humble old man walking up ahead. I quickly catch up to him due to the fact he walked very slow with the cane. The cane didn’t look very strong. Not a moment that I thought the cane snapped violently sending the old man sprawling. “Sir, are you all right?” *offers hand to help man up then picks up bag and hads it the man reluctanly* “Yes, thank you youngin.” “Actually I’m 127, but young for an elf I guess. I suppose will need to you a new cane. Your other one didn’t seem strong enough. Well, here take my walking stick. *Hands man a staff* You need it more than I do.” “Thank you” “You’re welcome; hope the rest of your day is better.” “Thank you, for you as well. Are you sure you will give your walking stick, I could give you a few minas for it?” “It is not a problem sir, I don’t need the money. Also, I am young and strong and I could make myself a new one, you need it more.” I then continued on towards Malinor.
