What if Athera is the real world and we are the dreams of our characters?

Asulon itself was a pretty cool continent lore wise, but I've got a theory on it's existence. Athera is definitely related to Aegis however, me thinks.

From what I read when I came back, you guys went through another portal after leaving Asulon and going to another island or whatever. If so, that portal could have lead back to Aegis since in Aegis we took a portal there. So, it's a full circle portal and there are two different dimensions we have access to.
