  5. A man must do three things to achieve imortality. He must write a book. He must father sons and daughters. And he must plant a tree. These were the words that rang through the clouded old mind of Jonathan Elers, clear as a bell, as he shuffled slowly through woodlands. Eventually, the old man would reach a clearing in the woods, a small, soft smile slowly cracking on his aged features. With a soft grunt, he falls to his knees, landing with a gentle thud on the grass. He fumbles around inside his coat for a moment before taking out a small, slightly withered but still alive sapling. Some minutes later, the weathered Jonathan Elers sits back, admiring his handiwork. The sapling now snuggly planted in the ground, cool moist dirt piled around it. A book I have written. A tree I have planted. Yet no children have come from me he thinks bitterly to himself with regret. Sighing, the old man begins rising to his feet. Yet the strength evades the old and weathered mage. A look of panic begins to cloud his features for a moment as he lays back on the dirt, wheezing for breath. And then, at that moment, a gentle breeze rolls through, the blades of grass bending and dancing, the old mans thin grey hair swaying at its caressing touch. It was enough to make the old man cease his struggle, a pained smile crossing his lips. The wind, and breezes such as this, had forever been closely linked with his life as a mage of air. It seemed only fitting that one such breeze should herald his death. A life meaningless to some yet influential to others. A delver, mage, adventurer, leader, follower and teacher. A man who had lived a full and wholesome life always trying to do the right thing. News would spread. Some would rejoice, others weep, and many would simply go on with their lives. Regardless, On the 16th of the Grand Harvest, 1481, Jonathan Elers heart stopped beating, never to beat again.

  7. Only thing that irks me is the fact that the undead got a magic plugin within a month of going live and we're still waiting for our magic plugin years later...

Or maybe it is pride. If I had a build that I couldn't finish I could relate to feeling a bit bitter to someone else coming along and finishing it. Then again I would also get over myself if it meant creating something spectacular for the whole community.

Isn't there tutorials for plugins such as the Hero-Plugin, we wouldn't even need someone who can code.

Honestly, I agree with DruinsBane here. We really do need at least a barebones magic plugin if the Undead are going to be able to cast spells, so at the very least we should take a pre-existing plugin and alter it slightly to fit our magic lore as a 'temporary' set up until the tech team finishes the magic plugin, if they ever do.

  8. Normally you just put it in the center of the crafting table and surround it with paper. But I don't think it's possible in Nexus...could be wrong
  9. "Bah, propoganda at it's finest! The high elves are assholes there's no denying that but claiming them to be the children and minions of Iblees?! Ridiculous, just wanting another reason for the world to hate them! The high elves are saying the same damn thing about this coalition. Just because Iblees is back doesn't mean everyone who farts or is mean is an evil servant of Iblees"
  10. "Oren is no pure nation, and I speak as a fellow human. We are not free of the 'filth' as you put it. Do we not also have our assassins that stalk the night? Are there not also humans who would eat the flesh of other descendants and praise the name of Iblees? Our race as as much 'filth' as the Mali. I would even argue that there is more . Do not raise us humans as the pinnacle of equality, for we are anything but. The Mali'aheral foolishly tried to rise themselves above all other mali. It was only a matter of time before the other elves put their foot down."
  11. Jonathan reads the notice with a small smile, nodding to himself and reaching for a quill to sign it. However he hovers the pen over paper as he thinks over the terms. They seek to genocide one race as retribution for that race discriminating and committing genocide against others? Would this not leave us as bad as them? Not all high elves are bigots, just a lot of the leaders... Must an eye be taken for an eye? Nodding to himself, he puts down the quill, leaving it unsigned
  12. Honestly the only Creatorism rp I see is people running around calling other people sodomites, heretics etc if they don't 100% submit to the creator. It seems very much "With us or against us, respect the creator or die". I understand that it's very much due to Oren's culture but I personally find it off putting.
  13. Interesting. Does that mean a mental Mage could easily stop a Mage from casting by distracting their defenceless mind?
  14. What would happen if a mental mage were to connect to a mage connecting (or even connected) to the void. To use magic a mage has to clear their mind of everything, so would that function as a sort of mental barrier? Also, what would it be like for a mental mage connection to someone who is connected to the void themselves?
  15. The slow, rhythmic clack of wood on stone echoes through the throne room as a man approaches, his cane tapping on the floor with each long stride he takes. Upon reaching a sufficient distance, he would stop and bow his head slightly "Emperor Tuvuya" he says in greeting his voice smooth and clear. Raising his head to look the emperor in the eyes, he continues "My name is Jonathan Elers. You likely do not remember me, but in the days of old Abresi, over twenty years ago, I supplied you with produce regularly" A small smile passes over his lips for a moment at the mention of that, but he continues "In any case, much has passed since then and I have not come here to catch up with you. Mine is a relatively straight forward question. It is in regard to magic, magical communities and the like" Jonathan stops, surveying the people in the room and their reactions for a moment before turning back to face the emperor "It's no secret that during the Chivay's reign magic was...disdained. Men of Oren would frequently take it upon themselves to rid the world of mages for the crime of being a mage. The empire was all but at a state of war against Raine academy whom solely wished to teach in peace. The same hostility was extended to the late Arcane Vigil, whom at the time had done nothing but be formed" Jonathan takes a breath here, keeping his gazed locked with that of the emperors "Your recent act of restoration, specifically the revoke of the Vizma acts and laws of imperial deviancy are nothing but a step in the right direction. You've proven that you lack the....rashness, to put it kindly, of your predecessors. I now wish to ask how this will carry over into magic and the Empires relationship with magical communities such as Raine. How will magic be regulated, if at all, within your empire. And will a mage be able to once again light his pipe within Oren borders without fear of being crucified or having his head removed" At that, Jonathan falls silent, looking to Tuvuya for his response.
  16. First...oh dear I can't believe I just did that...Anyway this looks good, keep up da good work
  17. Jonathan frowns slowly, closing his eyes as he pieces together the fragmented words the wind brought to his ears. After a while, he slowly opens them once more, blinking with surprise as he thinks to himself. I know of a door beyond the veil of light, shrouded in darkness in mystery... Perhaps worth checking out... Jonathan grunts and quickly hurries off in the opposite direction he was previously traveling
  18. Jonathan sees notice of this guild and sighs softly I suppose it was only a matter of time before the nations of men stopped trying to kill magic wielders and realized magic can be used to further their own blood lust and war mongering. he thinks to himself. Not voicing it of course, as talking to a poster is absurd. He strokes the stubble on his chin as he thinks some more Still, the values and principles this group seeks to uphold are noble. On the surface, this guild would appear more virtuous than the Mages guild. Perhaps I should suss them out, offer my skills. Shrugging, Jonathan turns sharply on his heels and walks off in search of the Waldenian Mage's guild. Never once uttering a word, as speaking to posters is silly
  19. Jonathan, one of the many humans of Raine Academy scowls as he reads the notice. He says nothing of course, as speaking to a poster is ludicrous, but one only needs to see his expression to realise that rather angry thoughts are going through his mind. Grumbling, he walks off
