    ~*~Denied~*~

After reviewing it some with the team, this application is unfortunately denied. Several concerns were the explanation of the voidal connection, how one summons the fire evocation, and  some of the uses of the fire evocation itself. A member of the team wishes to contact with you more upon it. If you wish to re-apply, you may after 24 hours.

    ~*~Denied~*~

This application is unfortunately denied.  While the applicant has the potential to become a good teacher, more experience of properly teaching the magic, having fully grasp the understandings of it, and experience in teaching itself is needed. For this, I suggest going to speak with several other teachers of this magic to gain more knowledge, understandings, tips, and advice on teaching methods and ways to pass on the knowledge of the magic. If you have any questions, feel free to sent me a pm by either skype or the forums.

This application is unfortunately denied. Several factors within the explanation of the magic do not follow the lore and rules of the magic that the guides provide. Here are links to them to help in getting a better understanding of it.

  4. What is your Minecraft Account Name?:  Delmodan

How long have you played on LotC?: Two to three years now

How many hours per day/week are you available?:  20-30 hours depending and usually always able to get a hold of on skype.

Have you read and do you thoroughly understood Magic Lore?: Correct

What Magic Lore do you hold the most experience with?: Druidism would be my strongest magic I am well versed in along with Shade and Xan magic. Each one I have either made several guides, aided in creating lore, and/or made additions for. I do have understanding in soul puppetry and the evocations but it’s not a full grasp.

Write about a magic-related topic that you find interesting (e.g. How mental barriers work):

Here are a few things that I like doing with the magics I know.

Communion, the connection of all of druidism, allows druids to listen, see, hear, and feel the ebb and flow of life all around them. Whispers and melodies of nature are a constant noise. To a newly attune, it is barely a whisper. To an elder druid, it is second nature to them. A normal feeling they themselves do not even notice anymore for they are completely at one with nature. Some think there is not a lot to do with communion. Ones however that focus on this subtype know and understand there is so much more. Animals give pause, flora moves to their very presence nearby. A druid that has studied within this art can even bring calm and tranquility within an area. These are but a few of what one could do as well many more yet to be learned.

Within Xan magic, the ability I quite enjoy the most is the healing. Granted, it is not as powerful as say cleric healing, but it still has it uses and the way it's done I do prefer. To enact it, the paladin hovers over the wounded area then begins to focus. Particles of light begin to appear and swirl around the gauntlet, otherwise known as the mists of Xan, before moving down to tether and seep into the flesh of the person. The pain would begin to fade as well the wound heal over, leaving a scar depending on the severity of the wound. Mending broken bones paladins cannot do.

Shade magic is really a fun magic I haved enjoyed doing. Having another being within your character that is constantly tormenting them really makes the roleplay experience interesting. Whispers, nightmares, and doubts along with the prolong time of not getting any sleep really gets to the character in the end and eventually all of it leading up to the shade taking control. Playing the shade becomes quite different than playing the normal character given it’s a completely different entity. Using the magic worsens it even more due to later on, it's a constant battle for control of your own body. You could suddenly lose and the shade gains control while you watch helplessly until you gain control back. Sometimes, not ever getting it back.

Give a Summary of any Staff/Lead positions you’ve held on any Minecraft Server in the past: My first experience of any staff position was on the Herocraft server where I was a GM for awhile. Here on this server I joined the Lore Team in January of last year, left the team in the summer than recently came back and became a part of the team again.

Do you have a Skype account? (You may post it here, or choose to keep it private until you are asked for it. Note; Skype is required to communicate with the team and unless you have an account and the program it you will be incapable of joining the team): I prefer keeping it private until asked for it.

Have you ever receive a Magical Blacklist, if so, please link it: I have not.

What magics do you desire to teach?: Shade

Summarize the Lore of this Magic: Shade, a magic seen as a blessing but in reality to all those that dare learn this art, a cruel curse. The magic itself beginning with the first, Rilath, was given a shade from Iblees himself. Though since then the generations of shades passed down has weakened, never truly matching the original’s strength and prowess. To require a shade, a Shade Father gifts it to the person, attaching a shadling to the host’s soul where there it would stay and slowly grow in time. As the shadling grows, it feeds off the aura and mana of the host, thus the power of it grows to which the host can use. Yet one cannot forget that the shade’s true purpose is to take over the host while the host is casted and locked away. As time goes on, it becomes increasing difficult for the host to endure the torture and torment the shade brings upon the host’s mind. Nightmares, whispers, even seeing things out of the corner of your eyes, everything the host holds dear turned and twisted into their greatest nightmares. Yet a common misconception is that shades seek complete destruction and mayhem. This is not the case. They are pure beings of chaos. Not good, not evil, just chaos. The way a shade spread such things depends on the individual shade. As well, several traits of the Shade Father or Mother stay with the new shadling as it passes to a host.

To manipulate and control shade magic, one must be taught how. A shadling can be given yet never know how to use it’s abilities. When a shade summons it’s magic, they give off a foul, sickening aura. This being them tainting aura around them which then begins to take on a physical form. An onyx colored mist or ‘smog’ is seen when this occurs. It can form where the shade wishes it to be, generally around the arm or shoulder blade area. Now with the mist summoned, the shade can then condense it down and shape it into a solid form. Tendrils are most common with this given its flexibility and movement, however one needs to keep in mind the level which one is at when summoning solid forms. The speed, density, and strength depends on how strong the shade is.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student. (Do note, we will be contacting aspiring teachers for a quick interview, to try to better gauge your knowledge and understanding):

The illuminating, flickering light of the candles dim for a moment as a shadow moves across the floor of the Grand Hall. The high elven female’s breath was quick and unsteady as panic would consume her mind. Her palms extend outward before her to press against the large, thick oaken doors, bursting forth into the grand library where her figure would move into the corner to curl up and hide.

“Why show such fear?” An eerie yet soothing voice would whisper. A female mali’ker slowly lifting from the chair where she sat, placing down her paint brush before she fluidly moves over towards the terrified elfess.

“Something is following me! I hear voices!” The scared elf would speak, peering up towards the ebony elfess with absolute fear within her gaze.

“That is the ‘gift’, child. The being that slowly grows within you.” The mali’ker would speak with her lips curving up into a wicked smirk. “It is just beginning. You will never feel more alone yet at the same time, never alone…” she would trail off with her lips forming into a frown alittle.

“W-..what? I don’t understand. How do I control it?” she would hesitantly ask.

“Control?” The ebony elfess would almost sing a bitter sweet song. “No, no. Never control. Only delay the inevitable. Remember that it’s words speak lies. It strives to take away all you hold dear and turn it against you. Keep this lesson well within yourself. A shade’s words are of lies, yet it is the one thing you can truly trust in this world for you know exactly what it wants to do, you know exactly how it will take you and all you can do is watch…”

  6. The hollowed screams were maddening. The nightmares that plagued her mind for many years finally becoming real for those longs moments in time while the illusion took effect. Elleirasa knew not of why she followed the Shade Fathers down here other than aiding if need be. With her breathing staggered, a thin coat of sweat  forms upon her face while she stands recovering from the horrid experience that was brought upon her. Slowly her vision focused back with her gaze shifting towards the two Shade Fathers as Vorroch's voice was heard. She scowled at him yet then her features somewhat soften. Her lips would then part, letting out a lingering sigh for she did not wish to speak in return thus only giving him a nod to show she understood his words.
