Out-Of-Character
Information Minecraft Account Name: teejaii How old are you?: 18 Time-Zone: GMT/Currently BST. However I game almost 24 hours a day haha Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: Multiple games and servers throughout. Mainly through medieval type role-play however recently becoming more interested in fantasy/mythology type role-plays such as yourself. I’ve also dabbled in a little LARPing, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and hope to take part in in future. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: Quick google search, found your website and was really impressed with how mature and professional it looked. I'm looking for a 100% mature environment and your server came out on top for me personally Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/86963-teejaiis-application-dark-elf/ Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? Yes Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes, as a result of my first declined application I’ve been repeatedly back to the wiki pages, talking to other members and my understanding is by far increasing quickly. Definitions: Role-playing: Becoming/playing a specific character position, whether in theatre or more recently gaming. A young child often ‘role-plays’ for example, hosting pretend tea parties or using a cardboard box to represent a spaceship ad they defeat flying aliens (clothes hanging on the washing line). Role-playing is a way of creating a story through pretend actions, and is the basis for many of today’s games. Meta-gaming: Using knowledge gained OOC IC. Ie something posted on the forum, your character in game suddenly knows about it, which actually it shouldn't. Another example would be OOC you hear a discussion on Teamspeak that a group of Orcs are planning to attack a settlement you are close to, your character in game responds and goes to defend the village. Your character shouldn’t respond to this information gained OOC Power-emoting: This is an abuse of the roleplaying system. Power-emoting may be described as role-playing unrealistic or unfair actions/plotlines for the benefit of one’s self. A character, who works as a farmer for example, suddenly finds a staff that makes his character fly, invincible and using 1 line can kill other characters instantly. In-Character Information: Full Name: Nandir Indir Current Age: 18 Sub-race (if any): Dark Elf Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): I was born to a single haelun, never knew who my maln was and my haelun always refused to talk about him. I believe as a result of my haelun's young pregnancy she avoided other elves, although we rarely discussed it. As a result we grew up away from the major towns and cities and lived a simple life, eventually settling near a small settlement, using the settlement for supplies and trading when needed.
At an early age I took a deep interest into collect herbs and flowers, and still collect today. When I was only 16 my haelun grew ill, and I was forced, for the first time, to travel with only a fer'sul, food and water to a busy city to try and seek medical aid. My first time in Normandor was a blur, I had never seen so many different people in one place. I saw the great Elder Tree and my mouth almost hit the floor. It was beautiful. I had always loved plants and nature, but this really took my breath away. I then noticed all the traders at the base of the tree, and I knew this is here I wanted to be. I will become an amazing trader one day and open an akalin here. It’s my destiny.
On the travel back I happened to stumble across a group of traveling Valah's, my first time. I was unsure what to do, but eventually hid and studying them as they passed. The real world contained new creatures? My haelun had kept me quite blind. However I did gain some medicine and upon my haelun receiving it she grew well very quickly.
My mhaelun realised I had enjoyed the cihi so much and meeting new people, and therefore once I turned 18 she explained that she could handle herself just fine and she wanted me to go explore the world. So that's what I'm about to start doing. It will be my first time experiencing all these new things, but I want to make her proud. I still remain in contact with my haelun, although it's difficult for her to contact me as I'm always on the move. Ambitions for the Future: To become a trader, after traveling around the world I hope to settle down in a city/town and trade on herbs/flowers and food. After visiting Normandor, becoming a trader there is my biggest goal as I instantly fell in love with the community and atmosphere surrounding the Elder Tree. Personality: Charismatic Skills: Still very young, developing skills at the minute although flower/herb spotting is a skill Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Very blue pale skin with defined cheekbones, light purple almost fuscia coloured eyes, a feature run through the family. Born with pure white hair although recently it’s become more silver. Very tall and sharp ears, even for an elf and hearing as always been Nandir’s best sense. Clothing is quite plain for an elf, having grown up away from other people. My character likes the colour black complemented by a few other bright colours. http://prntscr.com/12ktr4 Any other details you wish to share about your character: As a result of living away from other races and even Elves, My character has maintained the use of some traditional Elven language. My character still understands and speaks fluent English, however occasionally uses traditional speech (As indicated in the dialogue later) Also my character is openly homosexual, and although he has never had a relationship, male or female, due to living in solitude, my character is fully aware of his sexuality. Open-Response-Questions 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?
Answer: I would sit quietly and study the event until it was over. As I have rarely met other elves in my life I find it difficult to intercept in a situation like this, no matter how hard I want to. However after the older elves had gone I would approach the elf and aid in any way I can. Sharing food, drink or belongings.
Nandir: “Are you.. You... Okay?”
Small elf: “*gasps* Who are you?! Where did you come from?”
Nandir: “I, er... I’m a traveler. I stumbled across you here.” *Looks down in shame that I didn’t step out earlier and stop the older elves*
Small Elf: “Those stupid elves. This is always happening.”
Nandir: “Do you need medi at all?”
Small Elf: “No I’ll be fine, just leave me alone” *dashes off into the ame*
Nandir: *thinks* “Does this happen often?”
Making friends along the road is a key part of my life, as I strongly believe karma will come back around. After this event my character might think twice about not helping next time. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenceless - what do you do?
Answer: Immediately approach the man and aid him. Offer him a new pouch or material for him to contain his coins, and I would not take or try to steal any. If anything I would offer food and water and medicine to the man. If he could talk I would ask him where is the nearest city or town of which I can go get more help for him. If the man happened to die in my care I would try my best to determine where he came from and return any of his possessions to his family/friends.
Nandir: “Hello? Sir? Are you okay? I’ve got your akaleh here, don’t worry. Where do you come from?”
Old man: “Urgh” *coughs & stutters*
Nandir: “Here,” *hands over a couple of small chunks of alor* “You like fish? You need fih. Or vallei?”
Old man: *Takes the fish and vallei*
Nandir: *Collects the man’s belongings and places together in a spare pouch, adding also a few pieces of food to aid the man on his journey”
Old man: “You don’t, don’t stumble across, er, many like you. You have a strong heart, and a Ile one too. Don’t ever, ever lose that boy.” *Tries to hand over a small chunk of ikurn thuln* “here, take this as, as a payment or thank you for medi me.”
Nandir: “No, I can’t! You keep it, and when you find a trader, you trade it for more food. You’ll need it.”
Old man: “Thank you so much boy” *Continues on into the khel of the ame* 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a coloured carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).
Answer: As I have a profound interest in trading I would be more interested in his day-to-day life and how he loves his job, what he dislikes etc. I'd explain that I'm not sure how to haggle just yet, as only 18 years old I'm very young but I would ask if there was a possibility of becoming an apprentice or help him in his adventures another way.
Trader: “Why ‘ello young traveler, aint seen many in these parts. How me do you today? A spot of beloun? No? You look like more of indor man? Am I right sir? I am aint I! I’m always right sir. So how much we talking here?”
Nandir: “I’m sorry what? I was distracted, are you a trader?!”
Trader: “Trader by name, trading by nature. It is I...” *notices Nandirs stare* “You er, alright there sir?”
*Nandir is unsure whether it’s the traders charming good looks, or the fact hes a trader, that he can’t stop staring*
Nandir: “I.. Er... Sorry, what were you saying again? I... Er, yeah...”
Trader: “Argh not to worry fella! We all get lost in our own little worlds from time to time. So what can I interest ye in then? How about that indor? Only”
Nandir: “I, er, yeah sure.” *not
really sure what he just agreed to, but hands over the payment*
Trader: “Thank ya sir, have a good day. Hopefully see ya around in the future maybe?”
Nandir: “I, er sure” *totally overwhelmed now by the Traders good looks and charm*
Trader: *winks*
Nandir: *Clutches the indor and quickly heads out into the ame*
*After a few minutes Nandir finally looks down at his purchase. The indor is titled “Love at first sight.
For beginners.*
Nandir: “Wait, huh?!”
