  1. Ren is easily one of the nicest people I've encountered during my many years in this community. Not only is he able to display sympathy to most, he can almost always deliver some solid advice. His judgment is one that seems unparalleled and he would be an excellent addition to our FM Team. You can expect him to be a fair and swift deliverer of justice or compassion.

    Interview this guy!

Minecraft Name: (If you have multiple, put which you want the pex to be added to.)

    Rorel

Skype ID: (Can be put to private, however if you get an interview be sure to contact me.)

    Time-zone:

    EST.

Do you, or have you held, any other staff positions: (Other servers included.)

I’ve held a Media Team position on LoTC before, though that was years ago. The models on the Home page are my work. I held a Dungeon Master position on a minor server which I’ve forgotten the name of, mainly due to the fact it was a group of friends who enjoyed D&D. Other than that, I’m fresh back onto LoTC and I’m looking to become more involved in the community.

Where do you grab inspiration from: (Games, books, etc.)

I’ve been playing D&D since I was about ten years of age. I own nearly every edition of the Dungeon Master’s Manual and the Monster Manual.  I organize events for my party of six on a regular basis and we have a wonderful time.

What are your current list of characters, and are you willing to sacrifice any:

Nora Bosch is currently my main. I’m more than willing to lose her, as I already hold the personal  tenet of any RP combat death is a PK. It rewards players who take the time to execute well thought out emotes in the appropriate quality and quantity to kill me.

Aside from that, no other characters have been in use as of the last two months.

What race, or group, do your events best cater to:

I would hope my events cater to all races or factions, though I prefer groups who execute emotes well and can work cohesively as a team. Organization, in my mind, is key in any event. When both the ET and players are able to work smoothly, the event becomes much more enjoyable.

What do you believe are they key factors for a successful event:

As previously mentioned, organization both IRP and OOC is key. Events can quickly fall into an infinite loop of irrelevant OOC arguing or chatting, and it takes the hand of a strong ET to keep the event orderly. Excellently written, descriptive emotes on the part of the ET are also crucial in order to ensure everyone understands the precise actions that the monster(s) is making. Alongside this, patience to cater to the needs  of players with varying degrees of comprehension and composition is vital. An ET should be patient, well spoken and calm while conducting events as to not intimidate or offend the players.

What strengths would you bring to the team: (Knowledgeable in lore, great organizer, etc.)

I like to consider myself a strong voice in moments of disorder. I’ve been able throughout most of my life to keep people in line and on task in a professional and educational setting. I’m also incredibly ambitious and motivated when I uncover an idea for a story, event, or adventure for my group of D&D players. I find deep pleasure in organizing events for others’ enjoyment, and nothing pleases me more than seeing my friends smiling, laughing, or shouting at one another to ‘protect the dang healer!’. I find immense personal satisfaction in organizing fun activities for others.

Why do you want to be part of the team:

As previously mentioned, I find no greater fulfillment than in seeing others enjoying something I’ve created. It seems natural for me to fit into a position where I can create immense amounts of drama and action for those that feel starved of it on our server. I always thank our ET staff when they create the marvelous events that I’ve experienced, and I’ve grown to envy them for it. Additionally, I would love to become more involved in the staff of LoTC. Being a member since 2014, I’ve always looked up to and respected the staff. It’s been my ambition since my first few events to prepare and study for eventually submitting an application.

Create three distinct event scenarios based on the servers lore that you would organize: (Keep in mind that these pitches are to the managers and the lead, no the community.)

1). Seagulls of the carnivorous variety!

Rumors of the many trade routes surrounding the port Kingdom of Sutica mysteriously failing circulate through the city. Sailors seem wearier than ever to embark on the journey to the other isles, and our brave group of adventurers embarks on the high seas! As the team begins to crash through the ever worsening conditions of the sea surrounding Ceru, they find their ship smashed against one of the many jagged rocks jutting out of the sea. As they do so, they find themselves disoriented and stranded upon the rock with nothing but small liferafts scattered about. As the team does its best to clamber its way toward the  group finds itself surrounding by quickly whirring and screeching bird-like creatures. Though as the swarm begins to land and scuttle along the rocks of the shallow waters, the group finds themselves surrounded by a group of  noticeably plump pygmy dragons. The group would need to coordinate and use a shield wall to survive the onslaught of the small predators, though they’re welcome to approach it with magic or other ranged weapons (though more would be certain to perish if they take this route). The event would take some time and the group would have to survive multiple waves of targeted attacks on certain players.

    2). I didn’t think worms had tongues.

A set of Orc hunters have found themselves faced with an enemy not found since the dawn of Axios. The deserts had seemed long uninhabited by any other than the brutal warriors themselves, though that seems to have changed as caravans and lone travelers have been reduced to their skeletons, bones picked dry by an unknown enemy. Under the possibility of starvation and loss of cub lives, a small group of elite Hunters set out into the desert. As they pace through the rolling dunes with weapons at the ready, the sands seem to move in large clumps around them. One of these slithering forms suddenly lashes out with  its vile, spike-like tongue and nearly pierces one of the hunters. Any of the older members of the hunting party would quickly remember hunting these beasts for their thick hide. They’re  Straadoths, and advancing fast! This adventure would prove incredibly difficult for the party to defeat, though with hard fighting and incredible group effort, the party would be rewarded with a stronger leather than the cows of Axios offer.

    3). Balls of Steel.

Within the small halfling village, trouble is amuck. Aside from the little un’s casual trickery, more seems to be afoot than usual. A recent trio of half-goat men slugging around a sack of iron balls have pestered the smaller farmers for weeks now. They’ve destroyed windows, ravaged crops, and ultimately bruised one of the elders’ noggin’s with one of the pesky orbs! At last, a group of adventurers has been dispatched to deal with the Sylvans, through force or otherwise. As our group catches the trio red handed with one of the orbs clutched tightly in their palms, the group of goat-men turn to the party. With an eep, they toss the heavy iron balls they carry and dash off into the woods. As our party would hopefully pursue them, they’d find themselves led into a vast grove.  Stray near-extinct creatures such as furef and stray pygmy dragons nervously eye the group, though in the center of the grove rests a hulking Demigryph. Its wings raise in caution, and the group is faced with a dire decision. If they choose to raise their blades, they’re initiated in combat by the demigryph and the rogue pygmy dragons. However, should they lower their weapons in utter awe of the beautiful sanctuary, the demigryph would ease - for the moment. While the party basks in the glory of the rapidly scuttling creatures, a mob of the angry villagers approaches with torches lit. The group would be faced with the option to contest the villagers, or aid in the destruction of the sanctuary. Should the party decide to burn it, they’re again faced with a fight. If they defend the sanctuary through diplomacy or other means, the Demigryph would approach the party member who displayed the most valor, and the party rewarded through the promise of a demigryph mount.

How long do you plan to be able to work on the team:

Indefinitely. As I’m a High-School student wrapping up my last two years of school (I’m a Junior now, 17), I find myself with an irregularly high amount of free time. The only pause and possible absence is my move to Colorado for college.

Tell me a joke: (Like jaeden’s building abilities.)

    Why are all chemists alcoholics?

Because they’re certain alcohol is a solution.

My comedy is that of a balding, middle aged man with three kids.

  4. I don't understand why you would completely contradict your own Nexus plugin (which upon release was meant to make communities depend on specialists) with something that completely hops over that. No longer would you need a lumberjack, miner, woodworker and mason to complete a build, you just pay and that community goes out the window.

The Order I'm a part of had us all collect materials rather than use a paid creative or anything of the sort. This brought us a bit closer together, as we had pairs of lumberjacks go to the resource island and chill out and a fleet of miners to do the same. The nights of grinding out resources and laughing OOC brought our community together, and seeing something as disgusting as a paid creative mode completely spits on the idea of partnership.

    Remove this, for real.

  5. Hello members of Lord of the Craft. It's been quite  a while since my last visit to something that had such a large place in my life. As I've recently abandoned the server, I was curious on how things have been going. If you're willing, I'd love to be caught up in this thread. The last time I was active Salvus had fallen for the... Second time, I believe. Anything significant happen both IC and OOC? I'm always looking for a reason to dive back into this madness.

    Thanks,

  10. My ooc attitude towards you may be unkind at times

Simply based off of that response I will be leaving a -1. All staff should be as kind and welcoming OOCly to all players, regardless of any past experiences. Staff are meant to be professional, not overly emotional folks whom hold grudges. Staff are expected to be kind OOC at ALL times. Good luck in your ventures.

    SIDENOTE:

An event can become extremely stressful and many players will be performing many emotes at once. If you have an inability to control your emotions and retain maturity, the position is NOT for you.
