Commonwealth of Redskap “So this is the first of many correct?” Karl ran his hands over the goopy sac in front of him. A female stood behind him wearing the standard lab coat, she smiled at her first prototype. “How many more do you plan on producing?” The woman shrugged looking over her clipboard before looking up to Karl. “Only when the last prototype is completed of course.” Karl looked back to her as she motioned for him to follow, they left the room and wandered outside onto the hangar launch pad. “Now that we’re out of there away from the soldier’s ears, I have to ask you a few questions.” Her gaze moved from the dimming sun to Karl. “I hear your deeply invested in the laws behind the quantum realm correct?” A question that caught Karl off guard, very few he thought knew of his passion project. “I… I know what I’ve been able to read on the net, most of the theories on it are bootleg as the majority of scientist are locked from speaking about their knowledge.” The woman smirked as she fumbled around in her lab coat pocket and took out a pack of cigarettes, she lit one taking a prolonged puff. “You really think I believe that?” “The Quantum realm isn’t something everyone should know about, its intricacies are too much to bear for our race and especially with our warlike volatility it would only harm ourselves.” Karl noticed she rolled her eyes as she flicked some ash off her cigarrete. “I won’t pester you about it but I do have another question to ask you. Would you share your information if the end of the galaxy was approaching?” What a troubling question in Karl’s mind, before he could respond a dropship came into view and so did its extremely obnoxious VTOL engines. Upon landing behind the woman and Karl, the door opened revealing the next set of prototypes. AP Expenditure: 94 + 70 (Adaaptar deal) AP (120 AP | 40 to 3 Planets.) Aulus March Roleplay: “Is this the location Clavius?” Sarboth said as they trekked through the rough terrain east of Aulus. The soldier in front of him clambered to look over the tip of the hill before looking back, “Aye m’lord, the Korvics have been massing here for the past year as you know. I’ve noticed that more continue coming and there’s some sort of organization about them.” Sarboth scoffed remembering the Legate’s words before peeking over the hill himself, the memories of the korvic war of old haunted him especially now. A very large camp placed center in the valley, the river that flowed being used as a water source for the growing raid force. “Foreboding news Clavius… let us toil here no longer before they come and cut us down.” Sarboth motioned for his guard to come back to their horses hastily before riding back to the capital of Aulus. The four centurions of met with Sarboth on the forum in the city, the men cohorts sharpening their blades and helping to rebuild the decrepit plaza. “The Korvics are massing, I want your cohorts fully maintained and ready for battle in the event they come down next year. Your duties for now are to continue clearing the roads, hanging bandit leaders and going so far as to give their loot back to our people.” The oldest of the centurions scratched his head, “We’re expecting 6,000 to 8,000 of those savages correct?” Sarboth nodded. All four expressions turned to sour. “Meeting adjourned, I expect a report next year and good luck.” The four saluted and returned to their duties though Sarboth stood and watched his men at work, a pit of dread increasing within him. Aulus March === Roleplay: Sarboth gazed at the map of the empire, its many borders marked with color to represent those mostly in danger. The roads were all highlighted in red. A knock came from the dirty wooden door behind him, he turned as it opened. “M’lordship, I’ve received word from all of our cohors. They’re ready for assignment.” This deeply pleased Tielson who looked at the boy standing at the door. “I’ll be out shortly, bring them to the forum where I’ll have word with their Legatus.” The boy nodded before running and closing the door behind him. An eager crowd could be heard as the soldiers marched into the forum, thankfully it was cleaned at taxpayers expense. The cheers weren’t as loud as one would hope but to Sarboth they were a sign that Aulus still had some bite left. To his left stood the boy who had came in earlier, he glanced over to see the lad smiling as the four formations took place in front of him and thunderously set their shields down and stood at attention. It was time for the speech. The raise of his hand caused all to quiet besides for the babes who wined in their mothers hands. “People of the march, today I present before you the first steps towards a peaceful tomorrow. No longer will we cower behind our walls as the filth from the north and scum of our dungeons roam the roads and take from us our livelihood. We’ve suffered far too long, we’ve lost too many lives and sensibilities. Starting tomorrow, our young men will set out on their first assignment to clear Aulus of its banditry then make way to pick clean the rest of the empire so that all of us may walk from province to province!” Sarboth raised his hand once more to signal the cohors who brought their shields up and down once to bring off a strong noise of imperialism. The crowd began to cheer louder then it once had before only for the governor to smile and ask for them to quiet down once again. “I also know of another great issue that plagues our sacred march… poverty. I too have grown up, raised side by side with all of you to see that the march is no stranger to it. As of this year I am enacting an economic plan to flood our coffers with gold and pave way to the greatest period of growth we have seen. The entire old mercantile district by the port is to be refurbished and expanded upon, more shops are to be brought up and and our merchants are to be granted necessary funding to bring forth more jobs to our denizens. Taxes are also to be alleviated for the next five years to bring about substantial growth to all.” A scream of pure joy erupted from the crowd quickly followed by an almost festival like celebration as many were eager to actually have a life to look forward to. Sarboth smiled though mentally he knew this speech was a success and now his chances would be up to fate. After the ceremony he called up his best trackers as the cohors lined up and left the forum. “Go north, find the gathering Korvics and poison their water supply if you can. I want to know exactly where they are flooding in from and where..” As quick as the men had came, they left to go do his bidding. The only thing he felt now was a gnawing anxiety and a deep pit of uncertainty. === General Actions: 13 AP + 10 AP = 23 AP [Imperial Influence: 0 IF] (8 AP for Medium Inf, 8 AP for T2 on all 4 cohors. [16 in total]) - Marshal Sarboth’s first order was to pick the roads clean of banditry and scum. Great debate took place on how to best start rooting out the largest of the bandit clans, 2,000 men were handpicked and sent off to the Aulus citadel for training. By years end the men gathered up and were prepared for their orders, clean out the banditry in Aulus. (0 AP) - Trackers are sent to the gathering Korvics, if the newly formed cohorts are to react effectively, they need recon. (9/20 AP) - In order to bring Aulus up to speed economically, Sarboth’s duty as governor comes first, he invest the budget for the year into new foundry to provide tools necessary for jobs to increase trade. Application: Skype: You got it. Province of choice: Seven, Aulus March. Governor (Their name, and a little personal history): Sorbath Tielson, A man of 45 years with grey hair and visible stress to show for it. A native to the region of the March, Sorbath had grown alongside his dwindling friends and family. At the age of 20, Sorbath now without a home to truly come back to enlisted into the military only to be thrown into the Korvic conflict. During this period of strife he garnered a scar upon his back given to him by a rather large Korvic man equipped with an axe. The battle of two floods saw those he grew to knew be cut down in droves, the battle lasted ages to the young man as he fought his way to a better tomorrow. Distinctly if asked, the only thing he cares to recite about it is the blood and those he misses to this very day. After this bloody battle Sorbath wished to resign from his position and return home to the march, he felt at home in the poverty but those around him suffered and with what pay he made he set about trying to change it. With the history behind him, he was no prideful man and filled with wise optimism, he was quickly elected to lead the province as governor. Your Provincial Culture: The poverty that struck the region had left it decadent, the only sort of improvement that the people could be prideful in was the Iron and port. The main city was towered over by its citadel, its age showing and without much funding it was a shadow of its former self. Surrounding the citadel is where the wealthy lived in very few but well guarded villas. The legionaries that we're assigned to the march would promptly raise an eyebrow being placed to defend the north, they would say that whole towns were empty. Though the obvious division in class with the wealthy living towards the citadel and the plebians living outward, all were poorer compared to their brothers and sisters in the nearby regions, thankfully they were heartier due to the constant raiding and harsh mountain lifestyle. A Unique Military Unit for your Province (You should read the mechanics before you decide): Aulus Sentinels, equipped with heavy segmented iron armor, they carry swords, spears, and most notably their tower shields. These men were originally the older men who fought a rearguard for their towns as they retreated from Korvic hordes. While a hopeless battle against the unending tide at the time, these men fought with distinction and those that survived formed their own company of sorts. The veterans trained the new eager men that now filled the majority of its ranks, many of them wanting to achieve the glory of their ancestors. Suggestions?: No sir.

The Commonwealth of Edonia (2107) General Activity: The year was quiet besides bringing in an entirely new group of people into the Edonian collective. Soldiers, advisors, diplomatic officials, and language barriers had to be met and taken in. Effectively midway through the year, things became more smooth and eventually both sides had found a way to properly communicate and work together. The fleet received another set of upgrades this year, improved weaponry allowed the ships to fire at faster and heavier settings. It was a dramatic increase compared to the recent weaponry in service. A time for peace had arrived but it never hurt to make ready to defend that. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 3,550,406 Humans Feldspar (Homeworld) [SL3] Sbendar (Sassanid Homeworld) Lagain Besdan Actions: (40 AP) Helping hand to a friend in need. Commonwealth of Redskap “So you want to be an 11B?” The recruiter said to the young man in front of him, “You realize that there's plenty of other positions for you kid, don’t go into this without going through all your options.” A scoff came before a reply came. “I’ve done plenty of thinking about this, I want to be an 11B.” A sigh came and then some typing. “You will be shipping out in two months, get your strings tied up and I suggest you also do some running and strength training. Welcome to a new chapter Elias.” The sergeant shook hands with the young teen. --- As the new year dawned, the call went out. Hundreds of thousands of swedish men were called up to serve in their nation’s army with divisions being formed in literal days. Their equipment was graciously built by the Hephaestus corporation allowing a mass amount of men to wield the strongest weapons humanity has when it comes to ground warfare. Training would take place over the entire course of the year warranted they weren’t sent to join in on this crusade. In orbit of Fristad, the miniscule shipyard had to be improved. The Commonwealth of Edonia (2104) General Activity: With the induction of the USSR, the Edonian’s began to work cooperatively with their culture attempting to form a common ground together and soon they were united in one purpose to grow their peoples prosperity. They actively grew closer to the Edonian ideal and soon they would begin to call themselves as such. The military continued to see more development this year with the induction of the newly designed Vandivier-T34 Fission engine. It was quickly mounted on every ship in the UNE allowing for quick sublight travel in system, it was a marvel to see travel times cut by 25%. The power of these engines allowed for it to be much cheaper as materials could easily be lifted into orbit, not long after more civilians began to invest and gradually the systems of Feldspar and Aldebaran were teeming with small companies trying to make a name. In the meantime, the navy had received a big upgrade this year with the construction of over two light cruisers, two frigates, and a single corvette. These ships were eagerly built with the future in mind, modularity would be key in this new age of space travel. The army was also spared a hefty amount of military infrastructure with the construction of 500 APCs, 4,000 heavy infantry, and 750 more tanks allowing it to sustain themselves for years. They also would receive the first batches of kinetic gel and by the end of the year newly upgraded weapons from the Kanatans. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 2,300,000 Humans Feldspar (Homeworld) [SL3] Aldebaran Actions: (17 AP | 25/25 AP) The third university is finished. Commonwealth of Redskap Karl scoffed at the holovision, he never understood why everyone worked themselves up over the arrival of others near the commonwealth’s borders. Their recent encounter with the Greeks had been nothing but a fortune, an uneasy cold war had turned into a friendship after they had the Baltic union sit down and actually talk to the president of the commonwealth. It took only for a year for their way of life to change as they learned of the horrors to the north and south, they found solace in the fact though that some wished for peace. A knock at the door caught his attention, he sighed as another knock came harder and faster. “Hold the **** on!” The swede shouted as he stood and walked out of his living room to the main hallway, the end held the door which the knocking became unbearably loud. “Do you know what it means to hold on?” Karl growled as he threw the door open only to be pushed aside by a two very large men in woodland fatigues sporting Kevlar body armor and a beret. A much shorter man followed suit stopping to look over the shaken man, “Karl Hedlund, under the authority of the commonwealth’s national guard you’ve been selected to head a new field of military science immediately. Your expertise in the recently founded xylorite reactors is something we’re in dire need of, pack your things we will be leaving in ten minutes with your things or not.” The only thing that went through Karl’s mind was, “****.” It had been years since he even looked at a reactor let alone design one, there must be more at play here. A large ripple in the shuttle shook him out of his thoughts, they were landing it seemed. The side of the shuttle opened up revealing vast wilderness and a couple hundred soldiers working on various things around a base. Three of the men that had taken Karl stood up and took him out of the craft, not much time passed since they left his home it seems with it still being daylight. Another soldier walked up to them, he was dressed in the same combat fatigues except he held a rifle unseen before. The only assault rifle that was brought over was the Swedish army’s AK5C, this one looked to be updated quite substantially and a bit sleeker too… was it improved with magnets? After a few minutes of discussion the men looked to Karl who smiled nervously, suddenly he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head before it all went black. The Commonwealth of Edonia (2102) General Activity: They landed upon Feldspar early in the year and under the leadership of their first president, Randall Watson, the Edonian’s built many business and agriculture infrastructure allowing them to prosper. A location was picked for the capital city, the tallest peak named the Profundity. Over the span of three months the entirety of the population built up this city, its industry and infrastructure made to last for the years to come. An impressive feat for only a population of one million but the city stood and soon to be surrounded by defenses against the unknown. It was not long before they needed to set up a proper military for defense of the homeland, a proper military base would be build in the capital itself closer towards the top. They set about carving storage into the mountain and a few facilities for training and facilitating thousands of men. Shortly after this was completed, the recently built industry began to produce tanks, kevlar, and weaponry for these new soldiers. A few old drill instructors were selected to train these men, at the end of the year over 46,000 Edonian’s had been trained to become the first members of the standing army. President Randall first year seemed to be going rather well and the people were happy with the path they’re on. There was only one matter left, did anyone else make it through? A vote was quickly passed through the newly established government based off a senate and congress. A message would be displayed across the entire galaxy seeking any survivors of their navigational horror. “Broadcasting QNET, The nation of Edonia has survived navigational issues and seeks survivors from the milky way. We are open to trade and diplomacy and even giving aid if needed.” =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 1,000,000 Humans Feldspar (Homeworld) Actions: (5 AP) Finishing that one university. Commonwealth of Redskap It had been many years since the exodus, the milky way is a scary place and coming out alone, scared, and very much so eager the commonwealth through its hardships thrived on Fristad. The year was 2150 when a fleet had appeared above the capital world of Fristad. The planet was in overcast, the people milling about the many towns outlying from the main capital city. The world was a temperate planet, it was almost bigger than earth and had two moons orbiting it, there had been a forward operating base on the furthest moon Jakkal II. Only a small warning and fragmented message came from the base before it went offline, about three hours had passed before in orbit a larger fleet arrived. Thousands of soldiers had rallied up and secured the capital city and took aim to the skies, wet and terrified they waited for their impending doom. A single ship came from the large fleet above, the vessel landed directly near the capitol building with a single man stepping out. The Swedish foreign minister approached cautiously as the ship was surrounded quickly by old earth vehicles and soldiers, after a few minutes of conversation the nation understood what had come. A nation of clones known as the Erakat Caliphate had arrived above their home world, they spoke of their past and the galaxy at large, much to the surprise of the Swedes they were not alone. In the next three years that followed, diplomatic talks would ensue with the Erakat’s pressing Redskap into submission, it would be a long and concerning time until the ships suddenly disappeared come 2153. The Erakat diplomat and his entourage were needless to say worried which soon turned to terror as they received no communication and were dragged out and summarily shot. This event shook the Redskap people to their core, they feared the galaxy and shut themselves off from it. All communication sent towards the nation would be investigated before a response would even be sent back, the military over analyzing everything on the message. Every world fortified to the brim by earth standards give the people a sense of safety and now they’re courage has allowed them to colonize the many planets nearby using civilian contractors. Following the silence that now embraces the Redskaps, a great deal of farms and business were propped up in the core worlds. Growth was the priority of their current president, the downside was now that their military had next to no funding. Piracy became a small issue and following the year 2158 still is, it would require a good effort of a navy to quench this. The future is teetering for this commonwealth, one wrong step and it could slip off into disrepair. Population: Humans: 1,223,000 AP Expenditure: 350 AP (STARTING.) 180 AP into Agriculture = 6% 150 AP into Business split on two worlds. 12 AP into an SL3 8 AP into 2 colony ships for those 2 colonies.

Star Republic of Edonia (2156) General Activity: Leopoldo shook his head, irritation and disgust rolling over him as he watched the Holovision. It was the same old **** as always but this one had a special tone to it. “The LC declared open hostilities with the Keerim Imperium yesterday launching surgical strikes along its western border. While this move is well warranted it is a cause of controversy with a much more potent threat invading our galaxy and the Keerim from the east..” The noise from the TV was soon drowned out by the locals hollering at the screen in protest, Leo downed his drink, paid then left entering the even busier street outside. The young man adjusted his baseball cap and sunglasses, he hated being so well known. The streets of Vanadium seemed to become more crowded each time Leo came home, though there were more aliens then he remembered. Taking a right down the street he came to his 2149 Mont Alto hovercar and after pressing the ignition he slowly rose taking off into the mess of cars passing near each other. The city below quickly passed under him as he headed outward abruptly coming upon a wealth of farms and villages stretched about the mountains for miles. Overwatching one of the thousands of valleys was the headquarters of the Edonian military, a few frigates could be seen not far above it droning in formation. Suddenly his radio switched on and a flight officer briefly told him where to land, he didn’t need to ask who was approaching. As he got closer he could clearly see the large railgun’s tracking him as he entered one of the many hangars dotting the side of the structure. The interior was filled to the brim with soldiers all in battle-dress with about ten drop-ships situated along the sides hatches wide open being loaded quickly. Leo’s craft sat down off out of the way, he threw his hat and glasses to the side and stepped out walking back to his trunk. Popping it open, a full set of dragon-snake sat there where he quickly put it on via magnets, he took his helmet before surveying the room. One of his sergeants came running up to him, “Sir, everyone's all prepared and waiting for the go, I’ve been told were going on the second drop ship.” Leopoldo nodded and cracked his neck before putting his helmet on. “Let’s get on board then Mckinnon, we have democracy to spread.” he said picking up his newly minted M7A2 Assault rifle and its magazines sliding them into his vest. The trunked closed automatically as he walked away with his sergeant, navigating through the mess of soldiers as they prepared for the impending activity on a far away world. Creaking and a deafening sound could be heard, fresh blood flashed an eye of worry towards the hangar door but Leopoldo and the veterans simply continued about. The view of the outside world was blocked off by a massive ship of grey and blue coating, a hangar gaping open for boarding. A rather loud beep could be heard before a voice rang out, “Delta Company, the light cruiser ENV Becka has arrived at hangar D-2, commence boarding and godspeed.” At the tone, Leopoldo and his companion picked up their pace running past the just as fast soldiers as the room suddenly cleared up. Their dropship was packed tightly with his platoon, “Move aside ladies.” he shouted as he boarded just when the craft began to lift. A quick headcount was taken and all fifty men were present, a smile spread on Leopoldo’s face. As they ship left the hangar he turned to everyone, a chant started in the back, “Eagles lead the way! Eagles lead the way!” it didn’t take long until everyone even Leopoldo was shouting. Halfway through the air to the Light cruiser, his eyes closed then opened to the stingy dark room he was in. Sitting up to look around, he had only been dreaming, a horrible beginning at that. Leo quickly threw his covers off and looked out the nearby window to see he was far from home, there was a large amount of Asian looking people down below… Han? Of course it was Han… his morning haze was slowly shrinking away as he poured some Edonian coffee at the nearby counter. The young man walked over to the bathroom across the room to get ready and before returning he flexed his right arm in the mirror with a smile. The Holoscreen was apparently left on, the local news speaking in a language he still didn’t quite grasp. Bending down to turn it over he heard the door open behind him, instinct immediately picked up reaching for the mag pistol under the bed and snapping behind him to see a female figure in the doorway. “Enjoying your stay?” =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 929,715 Humans, 436 Kalronians, 22,400 Ymorian’s [This is done.] Feldspar - [SL5 = 30 Capacity] [Lvl.2 Trade outpost] Aldebaran - (Itoron) (Sl4 = 15 Capacity) Frostbrand - [SL4 = 15 Capacity] Irontoad - [SL0] Sufgar - [SL4= 15 capacity] (Ribalite) Seidmeyer - [SL0] POPULATION BONUS: 4% Actions: (58 AP) In the immediate rush, 2 battleships, 2 Heavy cruisers,1 carrier, 2 light cruisers, and 2 corvettes are built inside the Edonian shipyards. Star Republic of Edonia (2155) General Activity: For years Edonia had placed itself in a position to help its neighbors against those who would seek to destroy peace loving people. With the wars in the south winding down that were close to home, the people yearn for relaxation and recovery. The industry on Feldspar had grown, the nation’s agriculture had peaked with food being pumped off world daily to the rest of her allies. It’s propaganda was slowly being painted over and ripped from the walls, memorials and museums now being constructed to honor the 64,000 that passed in the many wars. Edonian ships and soldiers were returning daily from multiple deployments all over the galaxy, the people were frenzied and festivities were held in every place possible. A great deal of food was provided by the new farms built by the people for the people. The troops were supported thoroughly on their return, jobs were abundant with the need for more farmers and with the business infrastructure opened through Edonia multiple new shops opened. Though this was overshadowed by grim news from Leopoldo, the people of Edonia have a few more years of fighting until they can put down their weapons. The army and navy was put at full alert with plans being drawn up, it was only a matter of time before something would arrive to the east of their Kanatan brothers. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 852,950 Humans, 400 Kalronians, 20,000 Ymorian’s Feldspar - [SL5 = 30 Capacity] [Lvl.2 Trade outpost] Aldebaran - (Itoron) (Sl4 = 15 Capacity) Frostbrand - [SL4 = 15 Capacity] Irontoad - [SL0] Sufgar - [SL4= 15 capacity] (Ribalite) Seidmeyer - [SL0] POPULATION BONUS: 2% Actions: (60 AP) The Continued expansion of Agriculture in Edonia space, Frostbrand, Irontoad, and Seidmeyer receive them this year. The Nation State Of Chorrol The collapse of the empire brought Chorrol both great fortune and terrible mishaps, her countess and her bloodline lay dead at the hands of the flu. This fractured the state of the county led to much deceit and eventually a bloody rise to power under Plavius Sesdan, he appointed his son as his steward. Over time people began to forget about what once was, the Sesdan bloodline became nobility in the city of Chorrol. Their swift action to deal with the flu lead to many to believe it was divine intervention, they closed the city down and isolated the sick, they closed the farms where only the strongest and cleanliness worked. Eventually the city saw itself rejuvenated with the sick either dying off or beating their flu with renewed vigor, they were mountain folk after all. Under Plavius’s leadership the city grew to shadow its former self with its walls expanding enough to fit it’s very large and well organized population. Not long after with the empire now gone in the eyes of Chorrol for good, Plavius established both a professional guard and then it’s military the legions of Chorrol. It eventually reached to the point where the city could grow no more, Plavius sent his son to organize the greatest event in independent Chorrol’s history, take twenty-thousand volunteers to settle the north-eastern province connecting them to the nation state of Bruma. {+}Present Day{+} The year of 487 had a wrought a great deal of change in the town of Seveln, having been newly established it faced the trials of building and managing its citizens properly but with Plavius’s son, Jesalda at the helm it quickly grew to be a more wealthier city then it could have hoped to dream of under its previous mayor. It was settled along the Orange road where it could control and protect it’s many goods that cross through it. Plavius pleased with his son decided to use the majority of their treasury for this year to expand his son’s domain to spur economic growth. A great deal of shops, taverns, and roving merchants are hired to bring great economic change in Seveln. To also bring trade to the town, 1,000 soldiers that form the first legion are sent to patrol along the Orange road setting up checkpoints designed to protect merchants. They extend an offer to Bruma to work together on establishing safer passage for their traders. The nation state also sends out letters to everyone within their vicinity stating they wish for only peace and growth in this time of rebuilding. ----Actions---- (10 AP) With pleasure Plavius provides his son with an a hefty sum of treasure to expand the city of Seveln on the Orange road. Star Republic of Edonia (2154) General Activity: Explosions rocked the landscape off in the distance, only loud cracks of war could be heard on the cold planet of Kaldorian B. It had only been two days since the Edonian soldiers landed alongside the Solarins and Protorians, base camp was rather busy before they left. High command had decided it would fit Leopoldo to be put in charge of the operation up north. Never before had his nerves been this bad, the previous battle was predictable for him but this was an entirely new beast. The tank rummed underneath him has he rode alongside one of the many tank platoons heading up the middle of the formation. About three miles ahead the formations of grey-blue infantry could be seen cautiously advancing ahead. It seemed they were surrounded in one of the hundreds of valleys and mountains up north, it was especially cold too. Leopoldo looked over to one of his staff asking for the map of their surroundings, a hologram coming out in front of him with allied formations and the terrain on screen. “How long until Bravo company reaches the assigned front line.” The staff member coughed before pulling up a radio and asking receiving a tired voice, he then looked to Leo. “They’re just about to reach the peak of the cliff sir, they’ll be able to report any desig-.” Suddenly an explosion rocked the infantry formations ahead. Shrapnel flew over Leopoldo’s tank as he instinctively hopped off it, his staff men quickly taking cover behind the Kalronian beast. The radio lit up with voices as screams and orders were traded with command and the companies. The tank platoon quickly spread out in the valley taking up positions, Leopoldo looked around quickly gathering up his command team behind the furthest tank. “Order erratic maneuvers and get some spotters on those damn cliffs. Get eyes on and start calling in the artillery support, in the meantime call in the Solarin air support.” The staff quickly set about setting up their radios screaming out orders, the soldiers that accompanied the command team were already off over the mountain where disruptor fire could be heard. After continuous shellfire for the next hour, Solarin jets flew over Leopoldo. Immediately he began to gather his team and headed towards the cliffs where his men were. Bombs and shells were falling around them as indirect fire from the Karass forces became off-balance thanks to the Solarin air support. Directly to his right an explosion rocked the cliff face sending three of his staff men flying, in his mind he knew they died instantly. “Get the **** up the hill!” he screamed as the small detachment behind him quickly regained their footing and continued upward. The immediate sight was awe striking, tracer fire and beams of energy could be seen flying across at eachother between mountain passes for miles on each side. Immediately his men began to fan out along the skyline and instinctively he began to grab his radio and talk. “I need reports on sector zero-one-five-five, sector one-nine-one.” as he spoke he directed with his hands having the ten survivors dig in and construct a COP on the hill for him to command from. A deadlock would form for three days with the frontline making very little headway thanks to the terrain. On the eighth day after the Solarins had exhausted themselves in brutal combat, Leopoldo stood at the tip of his ridgeline, his armored scarred and cut. With the quick movement of his hand the men rallied on him, below him in the valley the fresh Edonian soldiers could be seen lined in their trenches. Behind him he heard one of his staff members speak. “So much for modern day combat.” Leopoldo gripped his rifle before bringing his hand to his helmet. “Let’s show them our true teeth, commence the push.” With the last word leaving his mouth thousands of men could be seen charging out of their trenches, a deafening yell could be heard briefly before the cover of artillery, tanks, and MG’s began to reign onto the Karass-Redon positions.. As Leopoldo charged down the hill, bullets and explosions rocked the battlefield a few coming close enough to rip his arm clean off. Hopping the trench he entered the true killzone as he ran around dying and dead men of both human and alien origin. All along the men saw their leader charging straight into hell itself, picking themselves up and heading up his rear. The battered Karass and Redon’s were starting to feel battle fatigue as their ammunition became more spent and men became more tired. Leopoldo hopped over the first Karass trench and came face to face with the three armed freaks. The staff team behind him kept pace and began to fire into the trenches burning holes into both redons and karass alike. Leopoldo brought his sights up and fired directly at a Karass soldier attempting to stab one of his men, a beam quickly cutting its arm clean off causing it to scream shortly before being blasted by the man it was attempting to kill. All around him he saw the slaughter of the north in its truest form, hundreds were dying in melee combat. Leopoldo quickly set up in the nearest shell hole having his staff men set up around it as he set up the radio. Loud and clear orders from the Protorian Battlemaster blared. “The Redon-Karass forces have surrendered, halt hostilities and begin taking prisoners. No looting is to take place.” Leopoldo relieved smiled to his nearby soldier, around him the sounds of violence slowly died. “Spread the word that the prisoners are to be taken to the Protorian center, treat our enemies with full respect and collect the bodies, they'll be returned after the wars over.” Shortly after a train of Redon and Karass troops marched past him in a large formation escorted by Edonian soldiers, he took a seat and removed his helmet. At his feet rest the Karass soldier he blew open, he ripped looked to see a note sticking it out of its holster. He took a picture of the xeno man’s dog tags then took the note out, it was in a dialect he obviously did not comprehend. Leo stuck it into his armors holster pocket, then stood to assess the battlefield. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 745,000 Humans, 350 Kalronians Feldspar - [SL5 = 30 Capacity] [Lvl.2 Trade outpost] Aldebaran - (Itoron) (Sl4 = 15 Capacity) Frostbrand - [SL4 = 15 Capacity] Irontoad - [SL0] Sufgar - [SL4= 15 capacity] (Ribalite) Seidmeyer - [SL0] POPULATION: 2% BONUS FROM AGRICULTURE Actions: (10 AP) The construction of a level four shipyard over Sufgar commences in preparation to provide jobs to the arriving aliens. Republican Systems of Edonia General Activity: The man in the mirror was unfamiliar to him, ten years in office had taken its toll heavily on him. The short brown hair he had faded into a light grey, his face was more sunken and his brown eyes looked cold and unnatural. A door opened behind him prompting him to turn, it was none other than his most trusted advisor. “Good morning sir, there’s quite the crowd outside the building right now waiting for you.” Behind the man stood two heavily armored guards in power armor, they had protected the Praeses his entire term. “Are you ready to give your final speech?” A smile creeped over his face, “Let’s hope they don’t break past the security line to get in autographs. Take it all in, this is going to be the last time you see me in this blue suit.” The Praeses directed the advisor and guards to lead him outside. Outside he was greeted by the cheers of one hundred thousand souls, many of whom traveled from other colonies to see this event in person. The wave of endearment swept through the crowd as he stepped up to the Podium, these people adored him. It was a shame that it was his time to leave. Coughing as he looked over his script, he signed looked at the crowd who had gone quiet as he moved. The Praeses smiled then threw his script to the side deciding to speak truly from his own heart. The paper flew into the bystanders to the front, many of them began reaching for the paper trying to grasp history in the making. “People of Edonia, my brothers and sisters… today is the final day I’ll be donned with the title of Praeses. Since our inception as a initiative in the days of earth, we’ve wanted nothing but peace and prosperity. Our position in the galaxy has put us in a very safe position to do so but that has been jeopardized by the extreme gravity of the wars being fought around us. I’ve led our nation headfirst into this conflict and thanks to your support and courage, we’ve made massive gains technologically and socially. We’ve seen places in our galaxy that many could only hope to see, some of you remember the days where the majority of us wondered if we were alone.” Optimism was beginning to flow through the crowd many of them talking about the somber tone the Praeses took on his final speech. “As of today, thirty-thousand Edonian’s have died in the armed forces. Our first steps as a fledgling nation led us to send our severely unprepared forces against an alien foe with thousands of years to hone their skills. We’ve been stuck fighting this foe and now we have the possibility of an extragalactic invader that dates back to the time of the firstborn. The age of strife has approached us ladies and gentlemen and the only thing we can do is persevere and adapt. The time for improvement is now! The time for industrialization is now! The time for our nation to strike out and do its part!” The Praeses slammed his hand onto the podium before him, the crowd beginning to chant a familiar adage, “For the dream.” Inside he could feel the electric energy of the crowd and for the last time he nodded to the people and thanked them for coming out. It would be the final time he walked off the grand stage. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 656,000 Humans Feldspar - [SL5] [Lvl.2 Trade outpost] {25/50 Industry} (SL5 = 30 capacity) Aldebaran - [SL0] (Itoron) Frostbrand - [SL0] Irontoad - [SL0] Actions: (24 AP) Constructing four destroyers, a carrier that will be added to the Edonian fleet. Republican Systems of Edonia (2150) General Activity: A SLAM rifle had become more of rarity in the Edonian army as the relations with LSAA and Eadn have fallen flat. Ross was one of the lucky twenty thousand to still own one of the deadly rifles, the rest had disruptors graciously donated to them by the Ascendancy. Edonian regulars had been fighting on the Kalronian front for a year and to the surprise of high command, the men did remarkably well. Despite these welcome reports, a couple thousand more men would be sent out to join their brothers currently fighting. The newly minted armor would also be sent to better equip the regulars. Edonian naval supremacy has been growing steadily since 2148, this year sees the trend continued. The Praeses places multiple orders in the shipyard, thousands of young recruits being placed aboard the ships made ready for war. The new training and officers are eager to receive their first test in combat, the homefront was prepared. The arrival of Imperial troops turned refugee was unexpected to the populace of earth like Aldeban but regardless accepted them with open arms. They were treated like brothers and sisters many of them invited to sleep in the homes of the citizens. Their designated colony ship arrived this year allowing them to settle their own world, the Edonian military freighter would supply them until they become self sufficient. ================ The fireworks in orbit could easily be seen from the ground forces down below, Ganvius and Edonian troops running along a latticework of trenches and buildings preparing for the inevitable landing. An Edonian battalion apart of first Division had been deployed to defend a Ganvius frontier world. The time would come soon when the Kalronian ships in orbit would begin to deploy a task force to face them. “Get the **** on the battlements!” An Edonian captain yelled as he stood aiming out into the open ground from the trench. With explosions racking the landscape Ross took his disruptor and equipped his helmet looking for his squad. Seven Ganvius soldiers ran past him, one of them directed him to the east to which Ross spotted his squad arranged along the trench prepared. It took him five minutes to jog through the mess of Ganvius and Edonian men preparing for the assault. “Ross your by me.” The sergeant waved him down. Stepping up on a wooden box he peeked over into the open field below their hill. When he looked to the sky, thousands of dots splotched the sky getting larger as they closed in on the surface. “They’re going to be landing on the embankment beyond the hill, expect heavy fire from orbit and infantry support weapons.” The sky suddenly was lit with many energy beams coming from the Ganvius air defences. Dropships were dropping Kalronian troops off behind the hills off in the distance. Ross aimed down his disruptor rifles sight, few thoughts of home were going through his mind before the first shots were fired. The Kalronians began to open fire from the hills, the Ganvian-Edonian troops in turn lit up their hill’s with bullets and energy fire. Ross fired at any black dot in the distance, some dropped but he couldn’t tell if they were getting into cover or dead. Suddenly one of the men to the right of Ross took a phasic beam to the chest knocking him back to the ground. The man didn’t move, his helmet flew off and his eyes were cold looking to the sky. Ross returned his attention back to the battlefield, the Kalronians were attempting to push forward into the killzone. Ganvian soldiers were running through the trenches at increased rates filling up the gaps caused by casualties. A Ganvian soldier filled up the hole of the dead soldier greeting his human allies, “Hello little friends, enjoying the show?” Nodding at the Ganvian’s comment, Ross continued pouring down disruptor fire onto the Kalronians. The fighting was beginning to lull as the Kalronians were beginning to pull from the combat zone, reports began to pour through the lines that their fleet in orbit was almost finished. An Edonian lieutenant stood once he was told waving to get the attention of his platoon. The lieutenant’s voice could only be heard by the surrounding Edonian’s who stood to follow him. Ross saw about two hundred human infantry rushing across the field over the Kalronian bodies, he watched from his position as they went over the opposing hill. Weapons fire could be heard but shortly after a few Kalronian dropships left and Edonian soldiers although less then before came over the hill victoriously cheering. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 592,250 Humans Feldspar - [SL5] [Lvl.2 Trade outpost] {6/25 Industry} (SL5 = 30 capacity) Aldebaran - [SL0] (Itoron) Frostbrand - [SL0] Irontoad - [SL0] Actions: (24 AP) The construction of eight destroyers would begin in the shipyard above Feldspar. Republican Systems of Edonia (2149) General Activity: The major skirmish in the west caught many Edonians off guard, many thought that the coalition would have been able to strike first. The fighting was brutal but familiar to the people of the republic, they were not going to let the lives lost go wasted. The Praeses swiftly elected to put in an order of many warships to replenish those lost in the previous battle. Fresh recruits and few veterans of the previous war quickly filled the slots as they came eager to enact revenge. Propaganda of the battle against the Kalronians quickly flooded the streets and holo-screens of many homes. When casualty reports came in, the people were furious and demanded Leon’s head only to find out moment’s later the admiral perished in the first few volleys. People were furious regardless with many coming to the capital to preach about the current inability of the military high command. The Praeses hoping to calm down the populace would enforce a strict retraining program and evaluation of many of the high command membership of all branches. Training programs length would be increased by two more months leaving many people in six month long bootcamps. The nation entered a state of mourning for many months but the people could only stay down for so long. The many civilians began to return to daily life simply forgetting about the event and going about their business. ---------------------------------------------------------- Johnson blinked his eyes as the bright explosion flashed marking the destruction of another Edonian frigate. “I said warp now dammit!” The helmsman sped to reach the controls, the ship was constantly shaking from the explosions around them. The radar operator turned to look at Leopoldo, “Sir, we got five strike-craft approaching with payloads!” Outside to the right of the cruiser a small flight of Kalronian fighters was approaching, their torpedoes primed. “Light them up, Helmsman engage!” The gunner was already on the task of firing down and soon two of the fighters were slammed with bullets. “Payloads deployed, thirty seconds until impact.” The radar operator shouted. The cruiser suddenly lurched forward at great speeds entering warp, the three torpedoes flying into nothing. Johnson dropped his head, the adrenaline and stress wore him out. He let go of the railing in front of him. “Give me status reports.” The communications officer was the first to speak. “Captain, Admiral Leon’s battleship was destroyed. Lost with all hands as it tried to cover our retreat.” The news swept the bridge into silence, Leopoldo looked at the officer shock coming over him. “Who’s going to be standing in as the next in command?” The comms officer held the headset close to his ear. “Captain Macdonald, his ship has sustained heavy damage and will need some assistance when we come out of warp.” “Prepare the dropship to send over medical aid.” Johnson said as he stepped down the steps and walked up to the bridge’s windows. The ship exited warp, Novam off in the distance and multiple ships coming out nearby. The dropship previously spoken about zoomed from the left side of the cruiser aiming straight for a severely damaged light cruiser. The comms officer once again flagged for Johnson’s attention “Sir, all contact with our ground forces have been lost. Orbital bombardment most likely wiped them out.” There was no words to describe Johnson’s feelings. “Too many human lives were lost today.” he spoke to some of the crew nearby. “Sir, Macdonald’s ordering a full-scale retreat to the capital system.” “Follow through with it, we have to make due and prepare for the upcoming storm.” =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 550,250 Humans Feldspar - [SL5] [Lvl.2 Trade outpost] {4/25 Industry} Aldebaran - [SL0] (Itoron) Frostbrand - [SL0] Irontoad - [SL0] Actions: (5 AP) Engineers and supplies would be sent by the thousands to help finish the Kanatian shipyard and help work on the immediate order for ships. Republican Systems of Edonia (2148) General Activity: The return of the replicant’s spooked the entire republic causing alerts to blare out across every planet. The formation of even more hostile alliances including the Edonian’s most hated species the Kalronians has set the people into motion. The Praeses and the senate after only twenty minutes of debate has decided to put the majority of funds into military development. The Praeses also elected to send ten thousand soldiers to their ‘big friends’ to the west to fight the Kalronians once more. The patriotic fervour felt throughout the nation reminded many of the first time the Edonian’s went off to war back during the initiative days. The soldiers that left felt only their sense of duty and the occasional anxiety of combat, their ancestors fought with essentially sticks and now they’re returning with actual weaponry. The fleet would not be sent to join the detachment opting to keep it in preparation for the eventual avian menace. The Praeses also reviewed the clamour that was happening within the forty person senate, many of the warhawks had brought up the problem that the Edonian fleet while technologically ahead was still too small to actively protect the entire republic. Under the direct orders of the Praeses resources would be supplied to the shipyard to construct two more cruisers and the immediate recruitment of manpower for these vessels. They would be the first of many to come from the shipyard. The Army also requested more resources with the development of the PAX and Dragonsnake. The infantry sent over to the Ganvius would desperately need the gear as they will be fighting foes still slightly ahead technology wise. The people knew casualties were to be high due to this but nevertheless were prepared to support their troops in any way possible. It was only a matter of time before more manpower and materials were sent west to help against the blue spooks. ---------------------------------------------------------- Ross stepped off the dropship and looked around the spaceport, multiple Edonian vessels were landing unloading supplies and marines onto the large landing platform then leaving into space shortly after. A surreal feeling washed over him as he realized this was his first deployment away from home. Ross’s friend Michael stood across the pad working on unloading some crates filled with some armor. Taking the opportunity to meet up with him Ross walked over to his friend helping him with a crate that he struggled to hold. “Need a hand there?” he said grabbing onto the box bringing it down and giving each other essentially a bro-hug. “This shithole looks like a great place to die.” Michael said causing Ross to smirk. “Better than doing drills in the middle of god knows where back on Feldspar.” he’d remark unbuckling his Itoron-carbon helmet. “The sergeant wants us to meet up at the barracks at 1200, we’re receiving a briefing on our enemy.” Behind the two conversing men landed a very large dropship filled with the remainder of the division. The two men arrived at the barracks and made their way inside to find all the bunks and lockers moved aside. Replacing them was enough folding chairs for the entire platoon and a projector emanating from the ceiling onto the wall at the end. “Let’s take our seats before the sergeant tears our asses off Michael.” Ross said as he took his seat in the back, surprisingly the view was good. His CO soon arrived walking in front of the men speaking to them with an authoritative but anxious tone. “Alright gentlemen we’ve arrived right on time, I hope your ride was as smooth as mine was.” The CO took a step out of the projectors view to and drew his hand up to it for their attention. “We’re here to defend this colony against the Kalronian aggression coming across the border, Ganvian high command expects a fleet to arrive in system any day now. They’ve instructed us to construct tunnels deep underground to withstand orbital bombardment and enough fallback plans incase the Kalronians land and take ground quicker than anticipated. On that note I’ll begin the briefing on what we’re up against in terms of ground combat.” The CO would nod to one of the soldiers who clicked a button on the switcher bringing the screen to a picture of a Kalronian. “This right here boy’s is one of the toughest foes we will face on the battlefield, the common soldier. They utilize gear that not even our best scientist could learn let alone reverse engineer. Good news is that they are not invincible and it’s been noted that even the old ballistics were capable of eventually taking them out after half the magazine went into them. Our new rifles ranging from the S.L.A.M and Ascendancy disruptor rifles should make it a guaranteed one shot kill. Our itoron-carbon armor graciously donated to us by the Ascendancy as well should keep you boys from being instantly wiped by these blue balls.” The CO’s nickname caused a few chuckles and smirks but mostly the room remained quiet as the young soldiers observed their foe clad in armor that looked way ahead of theirs. “The weaponry these foes will be using will mostly be phasic weaponry, this tech extremely broadens the gap between us. Needless to say, avoid being shot because regardless of the armor it will hurt a great deal. We do not have any information of any mechanized or armored units but do expect them, if you do spot them immediately call them out. Our SLAM’s should provide enough power to break through their hull and in a lack of better words **** them up. Any questions?” The room remained silent as earlier, Ross could feel the optimism in the room. “Dismissed, report to your sergeants on your orders.” Ross stood and looked at Michael and as if they could read each other's minds they chuckled. “We’ve seen worse!” =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Population: 515,000 Humans Feldspar - [SL5] [Lvl.2 Trade outpost] {4/25 Industry} Aldebaran - [SL0] (Itoron) Frostbrand - [SL0] Irontoad - [SL0] Actions: (10 AP [6 Invested]) Research into the Dragon Snake would continue to make it better and prepare to finalize it for use in the field.
