Writ of Vengeance
______________________________________________
"My people for so long have been spat upon by the Empire. Our house, banished. Our home, destroyed. Our futures, broken. Our rebellion was our own, everyone of you demanded an end to the Empire's tyranny, and we suffer the burdensome weight of our rebellion. Our house, ravaged. Our home, raped. Our futures, once more thrown to the buzzards of Norland. I beseech you all, not as a Lord, but as your brother, as your equal. I ask you once more take up your arm to take back your House, to take back your Home, and to unleash your vengeance for your future's that have been ruined by a tyrant sitting upon the pile of dead brother's we wept for, we killed for, and we subsequently fell for. I ask you join me, a changed Ashguard, to rise from our ashes, and take back what is ours. The Empire will know the name Ruric once more, the name of the Ashguard, and it will know to fear us. We come for you, all of us come to have our vengeance. The Ashguard comes for you, Orenia! You will know to fear us once more, as you have done in the past! FROM ASH WE RISE, BROTHERS AND SISTERS!"
Fallen Hero of Oren, Ser Hakon of House Ruric. (19th of The Grand Harvest, 1568)

History
- The Birth of the Guard -
The Ashguard was formed upon 14th of Sun's Smile, 1543 upon Ser Hakon's public address beneath the Ashwood of Nyrhold. An order was called upon from the local levies of the nearby liege-lords to serve the Imperium, as it once was. From this Ashguard birthed many chapters, each led by a significant Lord or Commander whom boasted their own forces to add to the Ashen Banner. The Ashguard achieved early success against the Horde of Dunamis, rallying many of their chapters to fight back the numerous raids that were launched upon the Archduchy of Lorraine, their home region. The Ashguard also served to spear-head a very sucessful raid against the Kingdom of Urguan, slaughtering nearly ten thousand collective Dunamite Screamers, and Urguanite warriors, with suffering almost zero casualty. Ser Hakon was revered as a Hero, and the Ashguard gained much praise and recognition as a result. This early success would be short-lived, however, as Ser Hakon fell gravely ill shortly after, seeing his Guard fall into a state of disrepair.
- The Ashguard-Nortruppen Pact -
Upon Hakon's illness, none of the Chapter Captains had arisen to take up the mantle of High Commander of the Guard, and as a result, Thomas Ruric ordered a pact between the remaining Ashguard bannermen, and his own Nortruppen, creating a unified force that would later rebel against the Empire for it's mistreatment of their Commander's House. The rebellion would come close to achieving a victory upon the Dread Sea with their many allied factions, however, it would seem the Empire would cinch a pyrrhic victory against the rebels, and continue onward to siege the Nortruppen's home-base of Seahelm, resulting in the capture of Avar. This loss was viewed as a stain upon the Ashguard's history, and the result of foiled pact with it's most valorous of allies. The Ashguard as a result, fled to the safety of the Dreadland along with the remnants of the Nortruppen, their banners fewer and fewer as a result of the wars and loss of command.
- The Ashguard Reformation -
An aged but recovered Ser Hakon would emerge from the Ruins of Nyrhold, his intent to discover what had befallen his people and Guard. Upon arrival to Felsen, he was told of his family's rebellion, and the slaughter of Avar. Ser Hakon would sub sequentially offer himself upto the command of the Empire, and would meet his narrow fate until a collective of former bannermen and Uruk allies saved him from his fate, informing him of the true events upon Avar, the slaughter of innocents, children, and most of his family. Enraged that the Empire could do such vileness to his family, Ser Hakon arrived to Bonefort, his family's new seat.
Hakon met with his distant family, meeting many new faces of his changed family. The few banners that still remained would once more rise to serve Ser Hakon, and as such, an aged Hakon would bring forth a Sapling of the felled Ashtree, planting it within the center of the holding. Upon the sapling, a new Writ was declared. The Writ of Vengeance. Upon this writ's declaration, the Ashguard had been reformed, with a different goal... Vengeance for his family, for his slaughtered brother's and sisters of Norland, and for their shattered home of Avar. News of Hakon's return and ascent to the mantle of his family spread quickly, and old bannermen would flock to his new seat, a chance to serve the Fallen Hero of Oren, a chance of redemption, as well as a chance for vengeance.

Ranks and Chapter Infrastructure
______________________________________________
-Command Branch-
Highlord of the Ashguard
Leads all chapters, and their guardsmen in times of war. The Commander is tasked with giving out orders to Chapter Captains, which are then given to the lower-ranking guardsmen. The Commander has direct authority given to him by the rule of House Ruric, as such he can make military-actions without the consent of any Lord overseeing him. The Commander is also in-charge of giving payments to Chapter Captains.
Chapter Captain
Leads a specific chapter within the guard, a Chapter Captain is in-charge of recruitment, housing, arming, and training of those in his chapter. A Chapter Captain is considered a very high rank, and can typically hand out promotions to his underlings without the consent of the Commander, so long as it does not surpass Battle-brother.
Ashknight
Upon stark achievement, a member of the Guard may be given the title of Ashknight by the lordship of House Ruric. An Ashknight has the right to land within the Dreadlands, and can run a Chapter in the absence of a Chapter Captain. Ashknight hold superiority to any of the Guard Branch, and may issue orders to those of his Chapter.-Guard Branch-
Veteran
Having proven himself time and time again, a veteran has survived many battles or wars, and lived to tell the tale. They're experienced combatants, with a wide knowledge of the blade. Veterans are usually allowed to handle missions of lesser importance, and can ascend to the rank of Chapter Captain, if the position is needed.
Battle-Brother
A man with a steadfast dedication to the guard, the Battle-brother is a guardsman who's faith and dedication to the guard is unquestioned by any within his chapter. He's given a lot of leniency, and the best of the best armaments, a step up from the usual rabble that is given to the Initiates. Battle-brothers are always trying to prove themselves competent enough to become Veterans of their chapter.
Initiate
A fresh recruit to the guardsmen, the Initiate is given no trust what-so-ever, and typically looked down upon as inferior by their fellow guardsmen. Their faith and willingness to comply is always in question, and will continue to be so until they've been anointed Battle-brother by their Chapter Captain. They're typically given the lesser armaments available.______________________________________________

Ruric Chapter
The dominant chapter of the most elite, House Ruric has always given it's most elite the privilege of joining their house chapter, an Initiate of the Ruric Chapter usually having past battle experience or service to the Rurics in some manner. The Ruric Chapter is currently the Commanding Chapter, and oversees the Guard in it's entirety through Commander Ser Hakon Ruric.

If we're going by that ideology, anything you say should be off-topic because it's irrelevant.

A gathering of various bannermen from Drayton, Greymane, and Ruric can be seen crowding around the mound that would hold up the Ashwood, the sigil of House Ruric. Many different colors, many officers barking orders, a very irritating sight to Ser Hakon Ruric, whom would stand overhead atop the mound.
"Father, look at this. Such informality and chaos cannot be the subject of the Imperium's best, could it?"
Eirik Ruric would look disgruntled at the bannermen, his face turned to his son.
"Aye this is truly a problem my son. I entrust this to you, for only you can mend this."
Hakon would gaze below to the loyal forces of his House. His eyes would close, and he would envision a stalwart force, unified beneath a single purpose... Preservation.
"BROTHERS! HARK, HEED MY CALL!"
Ser Hakon Ruric would gaze upon the attention that he had desired, focused upon the Ashwood, focused upon his words. His lip curled, his breath coarse and rough.
"From the recent conflict, I saw something that disgusted me. I saw a lack of unity within our people. I saw many officers barking idle commands to rampant dogs! I saw complete ignorance of chain-of-command, and men following suit on their own whims! NO MORE!"
Hakon would grow a scowl upon his face, his anger flowing forth, and taking form in word.
"For so long, our people have stood without centralized unity. Under many different banners, under many different leaders... No more.
Hakon would regain his composure before his men, and finally the idea had come to him. The answer to his problem.
On this day, we stand united from the ashes of old warbands, orders, and levymen. Many bannermen would begin to nod, some officers disgruntled, but the overall consensus was positive. Hakon continued with his speech.
On this day arises The Ashguard, with one purpose. The preservation of the Imperium."
Cheers would begin to erupt from the bannermen, officers slowly starting to nod, understanding the situation.
"TOGETHER! BENEATH THE ASHWOOD, THE DENIZENS OF THE SLAIN HANGING OVER-WATCH, WEEPING IN THE SEVEN SKIES FOR THE SLAIN HEANTHENOUS KIN TO COME, FROM YOUR HANDS!"
The bannermen would erupt into chants and cheers, the feeling of pride washing over them.
"THE ASHGUARD STANDS TALL MY BROTHERS! JOIN ME, UNIFIED AT LONG LAST! JOIN ME, AS ONE! AVE RURIC! AVE GREYMANE! AVE LORRAINE!"
A singular chant would arise, stemming from one veteran. Hakon would nod, uttering the same chant as his kin.
"Blood and honor."
