  1. The Elder of the Lur Clan reads the news with surprise and shock. The article calls for the arrest of the Clan Honorary, and as he reads through the charges, a realization slowly dawns on him. He decides to seek out Madoc'Lur, who has closer contact with the honorary made fugitive by order of the Rex.

The tale of Gob Ztabba-Zniffa has reached its conclusion. He met his demise in the manner and customs of his forefathers before him. He returned to the sacred desert and suffered defeat among his kin while the Elder held hope that he was sent to the Stargush’Stroh to face the judgement of the Old Father. Honor was restored to all parties involved. Afterward, Falum’Lur seeks out the Krimpgoth Drus to impart a gift upon him.

  3. Elder Falum'Lur was not present, but he had heard about the ongoing duel. He seemed to find it amusing that the Petra Orc had returned to the Sacred Desert after the Elder and Krimpgoth had wanted to fight over his place in the Horde. Falum let out a great bellow of laughter and happily said:

"Gob may nub have had hiz gruk in the right place, but hiz heart led him back where he belonged. I do nub gruk of hiz repentenze to Krug, but may da Old Popo recognize his triumph to be dispatched in klomp like the ancestors before him. May Krug hab merzy on Gob's Spirit."

    @siglms_

Mi challenge the honor of Krimpgoth agh hiz decizion, uzing the negleckful example of the foreign Onizhiman Uruks, and pardoning the Petra whitewazh whoze faith iz in the burs gods of Krug's enemies, agh who iz nub committed to the zacred zpirit of Krug, the Old Popo and Spirit Popo. A collectiun of beliefz is more like a confuzed zpirit than one who grukz its purpose. Any Orc that does not conform to the path ub Krug and their ancestors is lozt and haz fallen to the darknezz.

I intend to challunj Druz the Krimpgoth to an honor klomp until he exhibits regret for his actions and seeks absolution in Krug and the Ancestor Spirits. Forgiving a deluzional brudda is nub an act of compazzion but rather an affirmation of their diztorted world-peep and collekted religiouz beliefz. A zon of Krug ought to remain wit hiz kin and blood family who can better protect and guide him in life. If there is no honor among blood-bound relativez, then the blessingz of Krug have been lost from the Uzg.

Unfortuunatly, an Elder haz to be the only ash to uphold the remaining honor among blood bruddas. Name the tik agh plaze.

[This is a challenge to the spirit of the Krimpgoth decision to pardon Gob Ztabba-Zniffa (@MrMojoMordor) of Whitewash status despite his lack of faith in Krug and absence from the Fatherland of the Desert. If the Krimpgoth reverses his decision, the challenge will be resolved. It is not an attempt to claim the role of Krimpgoth.]

  6. After reuniting with their ancient kin, Elder Falum'Lur returned to the goi with plans to prepare a War Dance for the Rex. As he writes more plans for the war dance, he reminisces about dancing with many Orcs who have long passed away and gone to Stargush’Stroh. A high honor to be granted deliverance to Krug.

  7. It would undoubtedly be Horen. In most accounts, he had poor leadership qualities and took most tribute for himself and his court while peasantry were often culled. He was only benevolent through divine right of the four brothers, but even with that was easily swayed by Iblees coercion. Even the ancient human language Flexio (Latin) has interesting qualities to it being known as the language of the Undead, but also the language of the Aengudaemons.

  8. My Experience This Map:

I participated in the Temp Map and the start of Failor SMP that was specified to every-one that there were no rules. During that time I took part in Brotherhood of Flame that was heavily of a martial culture. We joined at the very launch and our group initiated PVP the moment we entered the Desert that I got popped in the first few deaths. People called us goons and for bannings because they got "no-rp killed" even though the admins specified it was a no rule smp, but due to that backlash rules were placed on the SMP.

Afterward upon the launch of Aevos, I rejoined the Dwarves as the Irehearts asked me to take up the Clan Father role temporarily. There was a lot more cooperation between Urguan with a New King and a New Map. During this time I became familiar with the Canon's Regulars and found their niche to be very interesting so I joined them as well on an alternative character. Eventually, that character was lost due to them being banished from Adria. Most of the attention and heat of ambitious role-play only became kinetic during the Norland Coronation.

Dwarves were invited to Norland to participate in their Coronation of their New King, and even had an elf assassination attempt which some Irehearts attempted to arrest the Elf. One of the Irehearts chose to make contact with the Vale and remind them of our grudge, but due to one small action caused Norland to react in an extreme fashion. They captured the Ireheart and took his hand meanwhile my character was nearly killed for attempting to negotiate as the Clan Father. These circumstances I have been in have been very odd to me considering I had been acquainted so well with Norland over the temp map.

Eventually, some of the Dwarves that seceded last map chose to migrate to Norland and even cause a stir in the Dwarf community. It was said due to the actions with Norland made 'many others' in the Dwarf Community want to leave. Then, the banished Canon Regular players eventually created Frost beards and brought activity back to the once inactive clan, but have gotten just as much discrimination as the Irehearts used to get for having a specific niche of role-play. Even with all of the controversy and debate, the Frostbeards and myself put aside differences and ended up playing CSGO with Sneakybandit the King of Norland and even won the game. Only then to be found a day later that Urguan was getting raided by Norland, and even though Dwarves won they still chose to refer to Frostbeards as 'Bad Faith RPers' which is totally disrespectful and disingenuous when they were previously allied with Canon Regular and only recently after had conflict RP with Dwarves thus far.

    My Thoughts On Direction:

This is a little more difficult to discuss with such broad of a question. There are so many factors about the server itself that have been left off the table to be discussed and left to obscurity, but I won't touch on old things but more recently I have found that the discrimination over specific niches of role-play seems to be all the attention. There are many players I found that are to comfortable in 'safe zones' and don't ever have to face the reality that some of the other communities must. Due to the duration this stigma has existed has specific types of players upset if they are put in any type of uncomfortable position they are not in control of. They often villainize others who don't do tavern sol to put a target on their back and make their role-play more miserable with staff constantly watching them.

A large function of this is due to a culture that has been created within LoTC of what I was label as Chat-Players. Any function, action, or emote that isn't filtered through the chat is seen as a breach of role-play on many occasions. The chat-play feature has even forced many of the Warrior niche roles to to waste time in a CRP Default for hours every single day they log on to practice their passion than something that could be ended quickly and decisively. Dialogue and Emotes will always be needed for a Role-Play but what used to be a RPG server that reached for something greater degenerated into standing on a single block role-playing for hours.

    • (Experts say adults should limit screen time outside of work to less than two hours per day)

There is always much more to say with such a vague question, but I just want to offer a little perspective and perhaps a riddle on what Role-Playing means:

A group of players rally and engage in a Combat RP raid in a city
A group of players rally and engage in a PVP raid in a city
    Who is the real Role-Player?

    Answer:

    Spoiler

Both. If you choose to Play the Role of a Warrior you have a common practice of combat. If you engage in CRP, you are engaging in your common practice. If you are PVP raiding a town as a Warrior, you are engaging in your common practice.

  9. AnnStone Regular sits upon the dwarven crafted and chiseled seat of the Ireheart Bone Throne as a beardling approaches the Clan Father with a missive of Nevaehlen in his strong dwarven hands. He hands it to Duren and briefly reads it aloud to the Irehearts at the table before him while they eat breakfast with their dire wolves.

"So they woul' dispatch warriors to defend an Umri Kingdom rather than their own land then weep how vulnerable they are. Seems we must remind them that our grudge with Nevaehlen remains without deliberation since Almaris. Our kinsmen Bakir Ireheart lost his hand for attempting to remind the Vale we would nae forget the grudge only to be given a false charge of 'assault' by Norland over a touch upon the elgus iron despite the Book of Grudges warranting worse. There is a price to pay for spilling dwed blood, and your attempts at naivety shall be noted within the book."

  10. AnnStone Regular watched from a distance as rallies of the Dwarven Legion surrounded captured King Balon Ruric and dragged him into the square. Petty remarks were thrown between Balon and Bakir but Duren distastefully ignored it and rather began a sermon about Dungrimm's Justice and the Elgus Corruption of Man's Heart. Though Bakir was unable to attend the final punishment, Duren stood next to Gror watching the final moments upon the delivery of Balon's punishment and proudly returns to the Clan Hall to deliver the news.

Since the demise of Almaris the Dwedmar of Urguan have challenged the realm and battled against the world forcing itself upon them. From the Mori Invasion of Almaris to the raids on Kal’Kadrelaz in Aevos the Dwarves have persisted. There are many things going on within the city and the realm that have distracted us from daily practices but we must not forget the ancient traditions of our cultures. The Clan of Ireheart shall be hosting the first Gimme Yer Belt tournament of Aevos since the fall of the last city. All that is required is that you enter your Belt into the competition and risk it upon the victory of battle.

Champion of the 1st ALMARIS Gimme Yer Belt: BAKIR IREHEART

Champion of the 2nd ALMARIS Gimme Yer Belt: RAGRIN IREHEART

Since the founding of Kal’Urguan the mountain dwed have been the foundation of the dwarves, from their many feats to their esteemed Paragons, the sons of Urguan have relied on the skill and determination of the mountain dwed. Back in the days of old, in the city of Kal'Karaad, Bastion Ireheart, Fili Grandaxe and Verthaik Frostbeard signed a bloodpact, bringing the mountain clans into an alliance, forging an unbreakable bond between Urguans kin. Decades later, the pact was renewed between Kerwyr Frostbeard, Fimlin Grandaxe and Gror Ireheart, once again bringing the clans close, and in return, making the Grand Kingdom much stronger than it was before.

The pact was once again restored in Almaris between Bakir Ireheart, Kronk Stormheart, Argnos Frostbeard, and Thumbrindal Grandaxe

So history shall repeat itself once again in Aevos, the mountain clans of Ireheart and Frostbeard shall sign a bloodpact in accordance with the following terms.

    1. Signatories agree to support each other militarily if aggressed upon

    2. Clans of the alliance formally agree to never employ hostility to each other, in the case of an act that cannot be ignored, the signatories shall meet to discuss a means of action.

    3. Signatories shall not pledge allegiance to any sort of conflict without discussion.

    4. Clans of the Mountain Alliance agree to support each other politically.

    5. The Signatories of the alliance agree to meet every stone month.

Could've included alternatives to the poll like #3 might have included a poll for PvP default even if it's unpopular with a newer player base along with #6 with variety including 1-2 times a week, 3 times a month, etc.

I think 1-2 pvp raids per week would be great activities to let working people and students enjoy something fun through the week while their busy. It would be interesting to develop a plugin that lets you select the raid, and upon selection sends an alert to prepare for an incoming raid. though in more modern days it'll just be abused as a way to meta-game and prevent the raid from happening.

The Vikings Are Misunderstood | The New Republic

Upon arrival, Draco was in need of great medical care barely escaping the Mori if not for his great-granddaughter Hilda aiding him along the way. He rested many moons and began gathering some strength back, taking laps around the square and sitting his old bones as he watched Hilda grow and lead a life with depth of her culture and country. After some days the tunnel was found leading into the untapped lands of Failor. They found the exit of the tunnel peered across the grasslands to the distant sands and with no time wasted could faintly see brigands engaged in combat further in the desert that seemed to only draw closer.

Despite his old age his grand-daughter was able to help his slow legs transport across the sands. He found himself proud as he witnessed her display of martial prowess by defeating the Brigands that pursued them. Finally they could settle a refuge. The barren lands of Failor certainly were no place for an elder Norlander but Draco would not turn back for the life of him. They crafted ships and set down the stream between the Desert and Grasslands letting the wind & sails guide their path.

Eventually, they find themselves settling in the camp refuge where they would protect as they recovered  from the disasters of the Mori invasion. Draco finds himself with a bit of narcolepsy as he sleeps very commonly within his older age. During the awoken hours he would be found spending precious time with his great-granddaughter. They often share a tankard of an old family recipe of the non-alcoholic version of Norlandic Wine. In his spare time Draco guides himself to the relic of an ancient ash tree bark as he grasps carefully in his hands and whispers a prayer to the Patron Athelflaed.

The Old Lur traveled far and wide with his ancient Lur Wolf as an independent unit unaware of the events that transpired in San Velku. The Orc and Wolf find themselves in a dark environment full of Netherrite, Falum watches under his darkened old hood as many other descendent refugees flood into the area. The elder kept himself away from the Mori as he kept himself isolated working on his studies and practices. He would exhaust himself regularly due to his old age, but had the work ethic to continue on. For so long he allowed his mind to be clouded and for it the ancestors have punished him to a great degree.

Falum’Lur traveled between the many caverns and found many of the ancient anvils amongst other things. He found many of these sites peculiar, having interest in such ancient ruins & relics. When he returned to the underdark ruins he found that many he acquainted with were not of his kind; not of Krug’s lineage. Though he searched through the ruins there was no place he would find Orcs to be taking shelter in. During his search he reminisced upon his life many centuries ago when he was displaced from his home after an attempted genocide on Krug’s people and the court execution of his father, Vorgo’Yar.

The shaman returned to the ruins as he sought an isolated meditation. The Ancestors have possessed and punished the elder’s mind for decades with the lack of piety within himself and the iron horde.  The orc compels himself to think with great difficulty as he rests his blood-red eyes while his Lur Wolf roams the lands of Failor on its own for prey. His eyes snap open and he leans onto his feet using his old but large and strong muscles and says to himself.

“Mi shall raise a Temple to those who came before us. Ash dat will nub ever be wiped from duh memory of cubs and even the spirits themselves shall exalt.”

The Brathmordikan Temple of Almaris was overrun by the Mori and Duren held onto the body of a fatally wounded Ireheart dragging him closer to the city square. Before making an escape the elder Ireheart observed as the Dwed of the underground gallantly fought and with great valor able to defeat many Mori though were still being pushed back. Upon a retreat, Duren takes one look back at the Temple and witnesses a grand miracle conjured by another’s magic. A manifestation of Lord Dungrimm spilled out into the Temple slamming a large hammer upon many of the Mori causing the walls to collapse and providing time for escape.

Duren glances back as he evacuates into the valley from the city and a bright light shines upon the mountain where his grand-son Balor rests. He squeezes his eyes closed from shedding a tear as he whispers a prayer for his fallen kin “ᚱᛖᛊᛏ ᛁᚾ ᛈᛖᚲᛖ ᛒᚨᛚᛟᚱ”. He hesitantly turns his body to continue the evacuation leaving his late grand-son in the care of Dungrimm. Duren and his great-grandson Balor II carrying the injured body of their Ireheart kin out of the mountains to safety. Once they reached the harbor the exhaustion from being the vanguard at the Temple finally overcame them.

Some stone years later, Duren & many other of the Dwarves have reached the survival lands of Failor and established Camp Dwed to subsist despite the odds. Though many of them had not rallied for so long since the exodus. They have managed to continue their councils without even proper courts or temples. Celebrations and ale-pouring commonly occur as the camp cherishes the life spared to them by the Gods and also mourning for those who were lost. Even in the face of insecurity the Dwarves of Urguan keep to the pursuit of Yemekar, striking the earth!
