Orc buff was an interesting experience especially coming onto the server as a new player. Those who were not good at PvP could at least hold their ground, while those who are great at PvP were able to hold and win with fewer numbers. Unfortunately, a bit down the line it was abused by people from different nations that played as an uncultured orc or in more common terms whitewash simply for the buff to help them win a war. Orcs offered to hunt whitewashes for abusing the buff, but it wasn’t recognized.

In my mind, it was simply an improper way of handing out perks to people or rather the product of what came of it declined the experience. Instead of every individual player Orc receiving the buff which clearly led to misuse, instead should have been granted a buff or boon by an experienced Orc Shaman. It’s clear there are spiritual leaders in most groups, and the same reason why Gandalf didn’t die in many of his ventures. He had a superior spirit to others. This could be used in the same way for other magics like Druids blessing bows or Canonist Priests granting morale or damage to Humans. 

In this way, the ability lies in the hands of those that craft the culture instead of allowing misuse by any individual. This would be almost relative to a magic plugin and honestly, could just use vanilla buffs with. Though such things are only a dream with the other priorities expected of LoTC.

I don’t know how many times this question needs to be asked, but considering tech-lock is being clarified i guess it’d come up at some point.

Gunpowder should be able to be utilized in sieges like cannons, siege equipment, bombs, etc but otherwise upgrading to firearms changes a whole dynamic of how combat works. There is more challenge in testing another’s strength with shield and blade compared to the norm being strangers on opposite ends  blasting at each other with rolls, reloading, and blasting again until they either make the kill off the initial blast or just go into melee combat anyway.

I think there’s a lack of understanding that we already have dynamic weapons we can get in the game with a dynamic combat system but it’s utility is deflected for the depth of magic and role-play combat. Though I honestly believe combat and conflict are already in use of a major overhaul so it might be a bit unproductive to create something new for combat when there hasn’t been a solution for current issues.

Giving yourself magic while still barely attempting to understand the guidelines  seems very inefficient for quality in RP standards. Perhaps for evocation and such are better for it compared to prophetic cultured magics but it kills the mentor-student atmosphere otherwise. Magics were about community building before it became so loosely structured to promote freedom of role-play. This is beside the point though, i will offer a +1

It’s a Lur Wolf and its existed for maps. While the lore looks good and has no qualms from me i think there are some things that should be said. It’s absurd to think that Lur Wolves are anything but Lur exclusive while other clans have their own respective animals, and the reasoning for such a strong mental bond between Wolf and Hunter is because Kurak, the Wolf of Lur, was an Ancestor who bound the Spirit of the Lur Wolves to the Spirit of Lur and his lessers with a Shaman ritual.

I was looking back at old forum feuds and suddenly had a nostalgic feeling to try and find a lost Aegis map. Most of my efforts over the forums were to no avail, but apparently a quick search on the Google succeeded.

I’m confused how one can expect a ‘quality’ Combat RP experience if an opposed side throws a fit instead or have no means of defending themselves, but then for it to be regarded as bandit role-play during an ongoing war. Bandits are not the same thing as Soldiers, and not all forms of conflicts are solely banditry. I think it might have been fair if RP was simply voided, but during a big war bans always seem to be the go to instead of a better answer.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing the higher staff provide a visual example of what good bandit or combat RP is on the server especially by their own experience. It might be helpful to show so it might enhance RP rather than letting them learn the ropes as they go.

A high peaked Cloud Temple would be pretty good sitting among the clouds. It’d be cool to see more monk sanctuary vibes from it rather than just a diverse RP hub/market. Also bring back the Blessings of the Triumvirate so Monk Magic can exist... cause if it doesn’t then what does that suggest? As for Dragur Library it is convenient having it there, and honestly it’s probably best keeping it there because its not like we can ever steal from it anyway.

Keep the Cloud Temple, keep it as a place of sanctuary and generosities of basic things. It has potential to grow, but only if Monks actually created Monk RP and interested ppl in existing with Monks.
