  1. "That dead child, I'll never forget the sight." Laisha shudders. Her arms cross over her chest as a barrier between herself and the unpleasant memories the poster has drawn up. It was too much blood to forget. "I'll have to ask Bradshaw if those were the people responsible." She turns, resolute, and makes her way to the tavern where she'd be sure to find the mayor himself.

  3. Laisha receives the notice from the courier with a frown. Her emotions conflicted with each other and caused her heart to race with feelings she couldn't identify. Unanswered, the notice lay on the tabletop in the flickering candlelight. The common girl covered her eyes with her hands and rested her elbows on the table.

Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Laisha was born in Felsen to parents who were smart enough to realize that it was far safer to live under the protection of the Emperor's gaze rather than carving out a homestead somewhere or relying on some noble who had personal vendettas to pursue. They rented a small home, paid their taxes dutifully, and mourned the loss of several great pontiffs as any good Cannonist family was expected to do. Thus with their backsides thoroughly covered, they were able to raise their daughter, Laisha, relatively unmolested. The small child would use pigmented chalks to draw designs on whatever stony alcoves she could find, leaving happy suns and flowers and cute animals as marks against the otherwise gritty alleyways in Oren's capital. As she grew, however, Laisha became wary of strangers - or well, really just men wearing tabbards with any sort of heraldic devices. The war sparking between Courland and the mean wearing the gold corps' uniforms had brought many heated debates to the city's streets. Following in her parents' lead, she decided to keep as far away from the conflicts as possible. After all, what purpose would a young woman raised quietly have in an argument against fiercely loyal men? No, if she was going to the market square or to church, or loitering near the docks to gawk at the nobility and she heard a hint of raised voices, she'd promptly go in the other direction. No amount of luxurious jewelry, dresses, and beautiful people was worth being caught up in some heated scrum between two forces. She dreamed of being educated, though, and maybe one day raising herself out of the mundanity of a quiet life in Felsen. She could be a governess! or a healer! Or she could go to some young settlement somewhere and help their people carve out a society for themselves. While these dreams were very beautiful and often ended in a fairytale-like marriage to someone who would love and care for her, she had no idea how to go about her own salvation. For now, she waits....patiently attending mass, patiently watching the nobility, patiently waiting for the day when chivalrous knights would re-take the city and bring an amount of decorum back to the streets. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Laisha respects the quiet life provided to her by her family, but somehow wishes she could personally do more. She doesn't necessarily want to help out of altruism, but rather to gain a sense of purpose for her life. After all, until this point she'd been raised as almost a belonging - a special treasure her family curated. Laisha would rather have a life of her own, perhaps a quiet one, that she helped to make with her own two hands. Thus, she dislikes the idea of stagnation. Everything must change, she feels, and the better people should have a hand in the change. While she doesn't immediately count herself as one of those "better" people, a certain sense of self-assuredness means she doesn't think that she's incapable of becoming one. With a healthy ego brought around by naivety, she's fairly confident that once she actually finds her place she'll have an impact. She watches the nobility as they go to and from the palace, half-hoping that one day she'll be noticed and given some sort of....something. Even she's not sure what she's wishing or waiting for, but every day without fail she'll stand by the entrance to the docks and watch as noblemen and women come and go to the busy home of the imperials. Some would call it a sad habit, but she thinks of it as a potential investment if it could possibly earn her notice by some of the most powerful people in the world. Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Laisha doesn't yet know what she wants to be, but she wants to make an impact somewhere. For a girl of lesser birth, she knows this probably means nothing more than becoming a valued housekeeper, a sought-after inn proprietor, or even a healer. She's a bit aimless in that direction, but she firmly believes in fate and destiny and feels as though her time is nearing! Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) She's good at waiting. Seriously, patience and forbearance have been the hallmarks of her family for years. They made no rash decisions during the multitude of conflicts that have bombarded Oren, they chose no sides during the war in the North. If anything could be said to be a true talent of Laisha, it's that she's very good at being staunchly neutral. After all, nothing is better at being porridge than steel-cut-oats. Maybe it's all bland, but it's a food staple and nourishing for a reason. No one can ever convince Laisha that being neutral isn't worth the effort. Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) A firm belief in destiny can lead someone to wait themselves to death. While she's very good at being patient, waiting with inaction is one of Laisha's greatest weaknesses. Given reason, she'll never show her hand or step out of a clearly defined box placed for her. With so many missed opportunities, can she really justify her decisions? Laisha doesn't really see any other options, and her staunch approach to patience and belief that destiny will find her even if she doesn't seek it keeps her out of some very enticing adventures. Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) She's got brown hair, long and prone to flyaway strands in humid weather. Her skin is fair, but has an annoying tendency to flush deep crimson in extreme temperatures, often leading passers by to identify her as one of those faint blushing maidens. In all actuality, there's little she can do to avoid that reaction. She's comfortably attractive - the kind of woman who wouldn't offend anyone by her appearance - but she's not traditionally beautiful. Skin: (please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin; if you need help, see our screenshot guide here.)
