How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I searched "RPG" on a minecraft sever website, and LotC looked interesting. It is the art of playing the role of a character. What is Metagaming?: Deadpool....you could sum it up with deadpool. Metagaming is beaking the 4th wall and talking out of character (which is against the rules). What is Power-emoting (powergaming): Over-Powered, everything goes the way the way you dictate it, and you just try to be a controll freak....which is not cool (and ALSO against the rules). In-Character Info Character’s name: Jacob Handelhyme (Han-dell-him) Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: Woodelf-Human Character’s age: 56 Biography: Born in 1518 a few miles outside the settlement of Courland, Jacob was born to a Highlander named Maria Flakken. As Jacob grew, it became more and more apparent that he was not like the other children his age. By the time he was 20, it was obvious: he was not entirely human. He had never known nor asked about his father, so when he confronted his mother about it, it was a long talk. Jacob learned that his father, Perisius Handelhyme, had been a traveling craftsman that Maria met in Savoy. The two were never married, but they travelled together up to the outskirts of Courland. It was there, 25 years earlier, that he left Maria who did not yet know she was going to have Jacob. Where Perisius went, not even Maria knew, and after further conversation, Jacob and his mother decided it was best to leave the topic alone. Jacob continued to live with his mother for the next 30 years, during which time he was taught how to cook and prepare food, as well as build and craft basic tools. Shortly after Jacobs 50thbirthday, his mother fell ill. Unable to find the cure for this mysterious illness, Jacob was forced to watch as his mother died of this unknown sickness. Maria Flakken died at the age 82. Jacob, who had had little purpose in life other than to help and be there for his mother, now had no reason to stay. The afternoon the same day his mother was buried, Jacob, like his father, departed for lands unknown. He spent the next 6years of his life wandering the lands of Vailor. He has ventured as far as Salvus to Fi'Ceru and everywhere in between. For 3 years, he wandered, grieving his mothers death; he was an odd-ball, purposeless. As he traveled, all he saw was death, sadness, evil, and wickedness; it seemed to him that he was in a world without good. Then, Jacob came to a place known as sanctuary. It was there that he saw something that he had only ever seen in his home: kindness. It was there that he made a vow: He was was going to try and prove to the world that there was still some good left. While he is part Elf, Jacob knows that the curse of Humans is in him, and he is determined to make the best of what he has left of his lifetime. For the past 3 years, he has traveled the lands, attempting to help those in need and spread a little bit of kindness, while trying to find a place to fit in on the side. Personality Traits: Jacob has a slight case of OCD that acts up every now and again; he doesn't mind a mess, but he perfers neat and tidy. He has a good habit of staying out of trouble and minding his own buisness...outwardly. Inwardly, he's taking note of any important info, and remembering peoples likes, dislikes, weaknesses, and strengths. He has a kind yet weathered heart in his chest, and a good head on his shoulders, which sometimes leads him to interfere with the affairs of others if a kind heart/hand is needed. Ambitions: A kind light for those in the dark, an umbrella for those stuck in the rain, and a smile to those on the verge of tears; Jacob's main goal in life is to help people and show the world that there are good people walking about, but he wishes he didn't have to do it alone... Strengths/Talents: Jacob is a really, really good cook. One wouldn't think of him as such, but he makes a mean rabbit stew. He has also developed deadly accuracy when it comes to throwing knives. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Jacob is a cautios soul, who never wants to rush into anything. This is a result of his tendancy to forget things. Combining these two factors together, Jacob needs to learn to take a chance sometimes. Appearance: Due to his slightly pointed ears and clean shaven face, some would say, "it's obvious, he's an elf!" Others look at his leaf-geen garb and short-cut brown hair, and they say, "no no, he's obviously a human." Then there is a third group that says, when they observe his short stature of 5'4", "perhaps he is part dwarf?"
