A depiction of the spires of Ilumrín at night.

BY THE GRACE OF THE HIGH PRINCE,

Beneath the shroud of the brooding oak trees amid the eastern valley, a collection of proud ivory spires stand tall. As the architects are made to take down the scaffolding surrounding the towers, the High Prince and Princess of Malinor prepare for a night of masked revelry in their freshly established keep of Ilumrín. As their name suggests, the spires are instilled with the glowing purpose of the light of the land, and its keepers wish to share hospitality with the people of Celia’nor.

The finished construction comes at an opportune time, as the Royarch, Prince Illthrak, also graces us with his return. Thus, His Royal Majesty and the starlit denizens of Leyu’sil are invited to partake in this joint celebration.

In keeping with this springtide celebration, celebrants are encouraged to attend in clothes and sheer veils worn over the eyes, inspired by floral motifs. These patterns symbolize regrowth, new life, and healing in these troubling and bloody times.

Throughout the eve, an array of entertainment will be available, including a hunt, a test of skill with the bow, performances of harp-playing and song-singing, and finally, a showcase of attire.

  2. chaos spike roll table feels like it lacks a vision or direction. some are cool but others are either weird or do nothing

The mage would find themself capable of only speaking in “Mooo”s for the next [30 OOC] minutes or the next 5 emotes.

    like what

having such an extensive list with their own redlines and effects is also really hard to absorb/memorize from a player perspective and could definitely benefit from just being condensed as "a roll 1-5 = x effect. a roll 6-10 = y effect, etc"

  3. the sandbox aspect. there's no cohesive "plot" to LOTC unlike something like a DND campaign or other roleplaying mediums, meaning that you have freedom to the absolute maximum to do what you want with your character, even with profound lore regulations in place. of the few times I've taken hiatuses, I tried to explore other RP mediums but none of them came even close to scratching the itch LOTC does. it's also extremely diverse in playerbase, RP niche, and RP quality

    value the tiger, Rahar,

((I'm glad this ended up sticking with ppl in the long-run. ik the entire point of writing lore/culture is for ppl to use it so idrk why I'm surprised but I guess I just never expected my lore to have relevance like 2 (4, jesus) years later lol, so its just nice to see. very cool seed otherwise, really contributes to my itch to dive into wood elf RP again

A hint of interest had settled on the brow of a certain Devil. Sermi took quill to paper, when the news had reached her. The letter to Malphas read as follows.

    "Castiel,

Or I suppose whatever it is you prefer you call yourself now. I admit, your name come up into my mind not too long ago. I was telling another of our time, however brief, at Hallowcliff. That, somehow, it was you who spared me being thrown into the pits and swallowed up. There have always been lingering questions.

It's hard not to express a certain level of curiosity. The matters of my allegiances are well known, certainly. While I do not think any words could pull me away from the White Cat. I have to admit - I would value the opportunity to talk without the fear of death. Even if it is only to take measure of ambitions and strengths. I think there would be some value in that for us both.

Would a meeting on some form of neutral ground be something you would be interested in? I've often found mutual interest is a very useful tool, and despite the differences between us. There is always some to be found. If it is benevolence you preach, then let it stand as a testament that this is just not some elaborate trap.

    I await your favorable reply,
    The Cats Most Loyal Hound"

A letter soon reaches Sermi. It reads:

"I'll only meet with you if you stop calling yourself that insufferable moniker.

    Signed,
    Malphas"

  6. I really like this, would love to see a fae magic that isn't druidism. I've always been a sucker for cool mystical fae genres, jim henson films like the dark crystal and labyrinth pulled a lot of that off really well. I think my only critique is that it's kind of lacking ability/combat-wise and could definitely be more than what it currently is, but I also understand not wanting to go crazy due to this being a brand new magic system

  7. ((not sure if this is meant to be read as an IC journal or paper of sorts, but something about the first person POV scratches my brain. probably because it's not seen that often on the server so it stands out nicely. good job))

    it's anti metagame:

"Oh, bob over there? Yeah, he's an azdrazi, how I know? Well, he just turned into one in a combat scene that happened a block away from me but I didn't get attacked because of the CRP lock!"

since when is it metagaming to just observe something happening in front of me? if I'm using my actual eyeballs to observe a fight and its participants, that's not metagaming, that's just other people interacting with you. this rule does nothing but enable infantilization in trying to fulfill a non-existent issue. I'd even argue that being able to observe a fight you can't interact with counter balances the combat timer. you can reap the benefits of CRP lock, but the consequence is that there are witnesses. that's just how the game is played
