On the 3rd of Malin’s Welcome, 1747 - the Jassinissa Council of the Medri Negasi met privately; for a solid 4 hours, they met with no intrusion - save for the sound of indistinct chatter outside the shut doors of the Festival Grounds, heavily guarded by Jeshi guards. After the time had passed, the Matoaloga stepped outside the room - ordering his guard to immediately spread out and allow a protected passageway for the Suldaan and his advisors. The Jeshi guided the Suldaan to the citadel - allowing him to step above the dais with an emboldened demeanor. Lra Suldaan’s words were as followed :

“To you, my Southeron people,” he said with a pause, his head turning slowly from side to side as he peered over the mass of people. He took a deep breath, continuing with a more defined tone.

“For countless years, we have been shoved into a generalization that we have never, as a people, consented to. Our attempts to embrace such a generalization was met with a steady coalition against the people who proclaimed to be our ‘brethren’ - however, our attempt to completely dispose of this generalization was met with opposition as well; presenting to us a state of ‘Farfolk Incertitude’. Allow us to take a moment to decode this phrase as separate entities.” as his tone turned from simply bold to outright aggressive - as displayed by a formulated frown and more emphasis on the important words

    On the Farfolk

“Farfolk refers to a group of disparate people who allows their cultures and traditions to be subsumed into a false unity. A unity of Subjugation and assimilation. It is a word coined by insensible humans in an attempt to solidify their ideology that we are their lessers - and certain groups of these humans considered ‘lessers’ agree with the ideology, because being a lesser to the imperialists, kissing their boot, and being friendly with them despite their scorn for our kind comes with the benefit of being seen as a step above the others - despite this servitude being a disdainful trait. This is a damaging ideology that has began the basis of our subjugation - which is why we, albeit alone of these wronged people, have outright refused to acknowledge such an odious term. Now, my people, does this at all describe who we are? “ Erasto asked the crowd, being met with mumbling voices and a few bold yells

After a brief pause, Erasto continued. “Now I will answer you what the meaning of ‘Farfolk Incertitude’ is - it is the inability of the ‘Farfolk’ leaders to affirm that their acceptance of the aforementioned term is not for ‘unity’ purposes. We who are considered ‘Farfolk’ are all different, infact I boldly proclaim that we share more differences amongst one another than the Highmen and Heartmen do - and that is simply a truth that any knowledgeable descendant can conclude. Along with the inexplicableness of the term in itself - if all humans, even all mortals, are derived from the same place - then why are we ‘the Far Folk’? We share the same lands as the other humans, however we have been considered foreigners above all else, why is this? I cannot truly answer this for myself.” he turned to look at his advisors, whom had the same angered expression upon their visage as he did - and he turned around, with an affirmity in his voice.

“The reason why this term is so widely accepted by the mass of humanity that is considered ‘Lesser’ than the imperialists and their several subgroups is simply for reasons of subjugation, nothing more. Every ‘Farfolk’ leader believes in a directive that we should all be together, but this directive is looked at from a place of self-entitlement rather than true unity - I, of course, do not share such a directive as I am not a ‘Farfolk’ leader nor do I parade as a leader of a people that should not and could not exist. During our communion, the Jassinissa has concluded that our state shall appeal to ‘Southerainty’ - an ideology that supports Southeron sovereignty and suzerainty as a unified people rather than a subservient people to the ‘Farfolk’ front, this word shall also be used to refer to Southeron collectivity. From here on, we shall treat those who consider themselves ‘Farfolk’ as we do all foreigners and nations - with neutrality devoid of slavish loyalties.”

As he concluded, he nodded - and the crowd began to clap, roar, and chant the words “Maarhali amaan Lra Suldaan!” in a melodic intonation - which translates to ‘Praise be to his majesty the Suldaan.’. This chanting went on for hours after the Suldaan and his advisors retreated into the citadel, an entire celebration forming around it’s gates to confirm to the Suldaan and his advisors that the message was well-received by their people.

  2. Erasto chuckled slightly at the irony of it all, pointing at the addressed name of ‘King Peter’ “They referred to him as a King and not a Emperor, I believe that to be slight disrespect.” He said, making an inference before even reading the address – and when it took a turning point he said “Aei! There it is, the climax .”

  3. “Another loyal subject justly rewarded, congratulations Mardochi.” Erasto said with a confirming nod as he wrote the last period on the document, handing it over to a Jeshiman as he commanded “Make copies and send them to every renowned family within the land, and ensure the new Ras recieves this document with a gift of ale.” and with that, the Jeshiman nodded – being sure to memorize every single word commanded by his Suldaan

Through their glorious acts on behalf of the Medri Negasi and it’s government and nobility, in the name of His Illustrious Majesty, Erasto I of the Sulynèan Dynasty , the Crown of the Southeron has deemed it necessary to ascend the Rutledge Cadet Branch of ‘Hinseli’ into seignoria - led by their Patriarch, Mordecai Moses of Rutledge. He shall be known from henceforth as Mardochi Musē ag Hinseli; his ‘True Southernos’ translated name with the updated dynasty. We allow him  to carry the titular name of ‘Ras’ along with his other valiant entitlements. We declare that this ennoblement be extended to all forthcoming Patriarchs and Matriarchs of the Hinselian Dynasty, undisputed in its entirety. We bless this title and its holder in the light of Alaha, and pray that they and their heirs continue to serve in the best interests of Seyam and its successors.

Matthias Rutledge still broods over having his entire race insulted multiple times by the simple-minded men. Alone, from his home window, he pens out a letter to the ruler of the Southernos people, Erasto Asseyou ag Seyam, about these simple but horrid tragedies that have befallen the race. @Southeron

”Murhara, Lra. I’m not good at our mother language, so I’m trying to be formal, but beware of a tribe of men called Karamanoğlu. They have been insulting our race by calling us Qalasheeni, saying that Qalasheeni and the Southernos are the same thing. It is most insulting.”

Erasto received the letter in good time, easing up as one of his Jeshi men opened it, speaking with a very curious  and excited tone “Rutledge? It is rare to get couriers from them.”  – the guard opened it, handing the opened letter with eyes closed to the man “Hmm....Karamonoglu..?” he thought for a moment, his finger tracing over the words continuously as he said “That does resemble the spelling of one of our old vassals, doesn’t it?Kara-mandul I believe was its name.” he inquired to the guard with a one-sided question “However, to insult our racial sovereignty is 2nd place to a grave crime...” he paused, rising with a grind of his teeth as he commanded to the Jeshi-man “Do send a transcribed copy of this letter to the Enderase.” as he handed the paper to the man. @Krib

Every so often, the Jassinissan Council of Seyam must commune to discuss things of national interest. These meetings carry with them very important customs that if broken, would void the sanctity of such an important meeting. These are the customs in their entirety that must be followed.

    • Only four people are allowed to attend a Jassinissan Communion. These people being the Suldaan and the three Jassinissa members; the Enderase, the Dejazmach, and the Taezzaz. The Arenderase, Ardejazmach, and Artaezzaz are not allowed into the communion.

    • Before the communion begins, each Jassinissa member must be sworn in by the Suldaan through a vow of honesty and nonalignment

    • The Suldaan is required to attend, but is only able to talk when swearing in the Jassinissa members – during the communion, he is required to listen but is not officially apart of the communion, showing his limit in power.

    • The Enderase, being the leader of the Jassinissa, will be required to guide the items discussed in the communion, to document all votings and their results activated during the communion, and afterwards to publicize the results of the communion unless explicitly stated otherwise.

    • To request a topic to be discussed during such a communion, a citizen, foreigner, etcetera must contact the acting Taezzaz or Artaezzaz – in which, if he deems it necessary, he shall bring up such inquiries during the communion in which the Jassinissa will decide actions regarding it.

”A tale as old as time. Another nation trying to walk in and ignore the laws we have set up that lets them do as they wanted to in the first place. I remember when Renautus would walk up to the gates and ask for people, unable to even get a commanding officer to send a letter saying they were supposed to be there. A minor level of effort would save so much time and get them what they wanted.”

Erasto would somehow hear Lily’s words, blanking out after she said ‘A tale as old as time’ – and he began to sing these words over and over.

The official calendar is the only one that really matters oocly. Players can create whatever date system they want to use, but they will never be staff enforced. That’s how roleplay works. You are free to make whatever post you would like regarding your culture’s customs on time keeping and date tracking, and we have an entire subforum dedicated to such posts found here.

it should be noted that the current ig date has absolutely no reflection on the date of real world’s history, and the two are entirely separate entities with no relation towards each other at all. That’d be like comparing the year Skyrim takes place (4E 201) with 201 AD irl. It’s silly and doesn’t matter.
Also a more accurate interpretation of humanity’s actual existence would include adding ten thousand years to our traditional calendar, which would make this year 12,019. This isn’t relevant information at all just something i wanted to say. More info found here, interesting watch.

Ahh, I actually didn’t know that. I just saw people using the time as a reason we should implement fire arms and assumed it progressed as the real world. I think it’d be cool if at a certain age we create a new era, like this could be comparative to the BC era.

At sunrise, the blessed time in which the embodiment of Alaha; the sun, is it’s closest to the Earth. With the creators blessing upon our leader, we shall guide our glorious nation into a period of peace and prosperity. Our ruler shall be coronated by the Sayin-Alufa himself within the seignorial festival grounds. This grand event has been scheduled for :

  14. Jyoism

    “Di suna yufir haya.”

The Seyami antiquity is a foregoing spattered in arrogance and hatred; but most unfittingly with what is aforesaid: modesty. Their roots are entwined with Canonistic and Tribal belief, yet they remain utterly disparate, in comparison to their Common foremen.

    M93jqklzREFa6bhbvrKdy5NWxgJGRpO2exspCjf22zOhE4jqTHkpjsrHvCPc7UqacC4j7QuFSfXQYaEdzt4HoeRfVVCtIDt_OTq9QYPnZJHHtNWsLtSpsfCM5oW40Rd9toHjJZaQ

     ፩ - Origins

Eons prior when the Farfolk kindred were all but disjointed, disparate communities flourished with a success unbeknownst to others. But they were tactless and self-centred. They wished not to associate themselves with broodings akin - though, trade alliances were formed, but were inaugurated for one’s own betterment, opposed to overall advancement. Therefore, ties were thin, which made war all the more wonted for some. Ghanyah was a formidable Farfolkian nation, however, their destructive habits caused them to fall under the control of another - and for almost a hundred years they assimilated and all of their tribes simply broke apart. As foreigners plagued their lands, many families simply left - however old beliefs died out - and with influences from two very dominant beliefs mixed with their own strongwilled beliefs and the inability to find sanctuary in their attempted assimilation - the religion of Jyoism was formed. First known as Jyoist Canonism.

     ፪ - Pillars

At first glance, the Religion practiced by the Seyami could be described as canonism, a feverous and ultimately more zealously followed comparative. However, though possessing similarities- even the same name -it is not Canonism as commonly recognised. This form of worship is wont viewed as a heretical barbarism, for the religious constituents that form this theology are questionable. It is known as ‘’ and its God as ‘Alaha’ but instead of Alaha being represented as a formless overseer - an ancestral foreman that resides within the seven skies - he is the sun. The all-seeing, life-giving, and life-taking sun; an entity viewed as ultimately more powerful than a distant ancestor of humanity who sits within his kingdom of thin air and ‘trickery’, as it is referred to by the Seyami.

    The Five Pillars

The ideology of Jyoism consists of five basic principles; the backbone and basis of the Religion. Although there are five pillars, the doctrines of these pillars are somewhat disparate to those of the Canonist notions.

    1. Amr-bil-Maroof - To enjoin what is right

    2. Nahil anil munkar - Forbidding what is wrong

    3. Adura - Prayer, the method of which is determined by the Sayin-Alufa, Alufa or Imam

    4. Idanimọ - To attain recognition from Alaha or the Sayin-Alufa, through rigorous worship.

    5. Jehad - Meaning to ‘strive’ or ‘struggle’ [against non-believers.]

    Amr-bil-Maroof and Nahil Anil Munkar

    վխսէդ

The Amr-bil-Maroof and Nahil Anil Munkar, is the principle of enjoining what is good and just, and recognising what is permitted and not. Most Seyami Jyoists know of what is wrong and what is right, and typically adhere to these guidelines. Those who are witnessed sinning are encouraged, through penance, to stop in their wrongdoing and continue the thoroughfare to paradise, or Semayata to where they may meet Alaha and reside within his kingdoms if they lead the rest of their life well.

“The sun- Alaha -has the ability to give warmth and life to all beneath its glower, to grow crops and raise animals, but it also has viciousness in its principles. But it is not viciousness; it is correction of sin, for the sun can also take life, shrivel your crops, remove water from its bed, and scorch the skin from your back. This is how The Almighty corrects the sin of humanity. Lead a life of goodness and Alaha will repay you, do not, and you will experience hellfire.” - Damiabi the Prophet

    Adura

    ժջչոբ

Adura does not possess a definitive translation, it is rather a principle of prayer, and how Alaha should be praised. Based on environmental and tangible factors, the Religious leaders of the Seyami determine how and what Alaha should receive: whether it be oral prayer, or sacrifice, or an offering of food. Prayer is to be performed thrice per day: once in the morning to encourage the Sun to rise, once in the afternoon so that the sun may sustain its fullest glower and once in the late afternoon to ensure that the day lasts its fullest.

    Idanimọ

    գզաախդե

Recognition by Alaha or the Sayin-Alufa is an ultimate goal for Seyami, but requires a painful and extensive ritual for it to occur. Idanimo is undertaken close to death, and includes a dyad of dubious practices which only the most strong-willed are able to complete successfully:

The elderly man or woman will lock himself or herself within a chamber stowed deeply in the confines of the Mescit (Place of worship) and pray from day break to noon. They will then consume a meal of seeds and dates, swallow a quick sip of poisonous hemlock and rest briefly. When they awaken they will continue in their worship, repeat the aforesaid doings and sleep once more. These actions will be performed until the hemlock had taken its toll and the practicer had succumbed to its toxicity. It is said that once the ritual had been completed, the individual was going to meet Alaha and live with him in his Golden Kingdom upon the clouds, swathed in his radiance. Many believers who have done such a ritual are considered saints within the religion and all it’s followers.

    Jehad

    մնպկ

Jehad means, in a literal sense, to ‘struggle’ or to ‘strive’ against non-believers and dark beings.

Jehad is an ideology divided into twain: Lesser Jehad and Greater Jehad. Typically Greater Jehad is the preferred method, wherein the individual takes arms against the aforesaid dark creatures and heretics, though Lesser Jehad is equally esteemed. Lesser Jehad is the practice of conversion through preaching and writing, a comparative favoured by pacifists and scholars for its diplomacy.

    The Mescit

    ջչոէսՊ

The Mescit is the holiest place for a Seyami-Jyoist, bar the sun itself, and houses within it the embodiment of Alaha: the Sayin-Alufa, the highest religious preacher, and most esteemed member of Seyami Society.

A large Mescit during a time of Seyami Prominence

As Mescits are places of worship, those within the Mescit are required to remain respectful to those in prayer. Loud talking within the Mescit, as well as discussion of topics deemed disrespectful, is forbidden in areas where people are praying. In addition, it is disrespectful to walk in front of or otherwise disturb people in prayer. The walls within the Mescit have few items, except for possibly Seyami calligraphy, so people in prayer are not distracted.  Seyami are also discouraged from wearing clothing with distracting images and symbols so as not to divert the attention of those standing behind them during prayer. In many Mescits, even the carpeted prayer area has no designs, its plainness helping worshippers to focus.

All Mescits have rules regarding cleanliness, as it is an essential part of the worshippers' experience. Jyoists before prayer are required to cleanse themselves in an ablution process known as Mọ (Meaning Cleanliness). However, even to those who enter the prayer hall of a Mescits without the intention of praying, there are still rules that apply. Shoes must not be worn inside the carpeted prayer hall and the arms, hands and feet must be thoroughly washed.

    Religious Hierarchy

    Sayin-Alufa

    Ճհկ

    St Peter 17th century

The Sayin Alufa is upon the highest rung of the religious and social hierarchy: they are the wisest,  most reputable individual, and importantly the foreman of the Seyami sodality. It is stated that they are the handpicked prophets of Alaha, messengers of the Almighty Sun and protectors of the Sunmen, who are tasked with preaching important Sermons and performing funerary rights on deceased Seyami. Above all, however, they must give the word of God. When death is an imminent prospect for an elderly Sayin, Alaha will decide through them who his next prophet shall be. If the Sayin is killed before a decision can be made, Alaha will, through external means, present his choice. Like the High Pontiff, the Sayim-Alufa is the speaker of Alaha on earth, and for a ruler to have close relations, their reign affirmed by, and to be coronated by such a being would mean that Alaha himself has blessed and vindicated them.
