Here are my two cents on this and other slurs in-game:

In my opinion, we should stay away from racial slurs like "darkie" that are based on in-game skin color, especially if the slur could also apply to a real life skin color. Saying "I've seen it used a lot" is just an observation, not something that justifies its use.

Although "spook" has a history as a racial slur, that's basically where its similarity to "darkie" ends. "Spook" itself doesn't have an obvious racial connotation. It has a more popular contemporary definition ("spooky, scary!"), and use of it in-game is to refer to something ghostly/creepy/undead, not something based on its skin color.

You won't hear either word being commonly used as a racial slur nowadays IRL, but with "darkie", its racial connotation is immediately obvious, so its prevalence really has no bearing on whether or not it should be used. In my opinion, it shouldn't be used. "Coal people" is also a bad idea for all the same reasons.

And for "spook" – would it be a good idea for us to find a different word to use? Sure, it wouldn't hurt; but I'm not that pressed about it, as long as it's only used to refer to ghostly/creepy/undead things. I wasn't even aware of its racist history until I read that ban report a couple days ago.

"Greenskins" for orcs or "greyskins" for dark elves are certainly not as bad, as they have no IRL history or obvious IRL racial connotation. Personally, I usually don't have a problem with those unless it becomes obvious that the player behind the character is just using it as a way to mask being racist IRL, and determining that can be difficult. But ultimately, as I said before, my preference would be for us to just stay away from skin color -based slurs in general, given the extensive history of the concept IRL.

"Midget" shouldn't be used either, in my opinion. Whenever the term is used nowadays, it's almost always in offense. There are many little people who are fine with or even prefer being called "dwarf", but I've never heard of a little person who preferred to be called "midget." It's an offensive real-life word for a real-life group of people, so in my opinion, their comfortability trumps anyone's need to use that word in-game.

Lastly, the word "coon" might appear to have some of the same word qualities as "spook", but it was (and is) used as a racist term far more widely, including a well-known history of racist caricature artwork with the same name. Its only use referring to people has been incredibly racist. I bring this up because not too long ago there was a player on this server for several months who had named their orc character "Kuun'killah." Correct me if I'm wrong, but the orcs have never had to deal with a rampant infestation of raccoons, so one can draw a pretty obvious conclusion as to what that player was really referencing.

We don't have these conversations as often as we should, so I thought I'd cover as much ground as possible given recent happenings. If all these words magically "poofed" from the vernacular of characters in-game, would I miss these words? Not in the slightest.

There are more nuanced ways to express your character's prejudice that aren't as triggering for real-life groups of people.

I'm uncomfortable with the fact that a single Administrator made a decision for the entire server on what racial slurs should and shouldn't be said in our community. This should be a community decision, just like nearly every other decision on LotC that has the unfortunate habit of getting relegated to a select group of officious volunteers.

Not to be a hater cuz ur opinion is valid

but like why did we revive this

  4. Asbjorn Foremothers recieves this letter while playing dice with some of the Numendil guard, next to his bed in the barracks. The courier's face shows shock, but nonetheless, hands him the letter with a courteous bow. The young ranger, or, ex-ranger, takes his anorum bowie knife from his pouch, and tears into it uncaringly, unfolding it and reading it. With each passing line, his eyes would widen, before a smile appears on his face. He sheathes the bowie knife, and begins to pack his things. He gives a solemn nods to his fellow gamblers, tossing his coin-pouch down onto the floor with a smile. "This is for the pot. For all you've done for me."

Making his way over to the stables, he heaves the pack onto his mare, the horse that has been with him for many his travelling days in Aevos, from his visits to the Vale, his time spent in Lurin, and his many more days spent amongst nature. He walks the horse out of the city gates, offering a wave to the guard on gate-duty. He then stops, and turns around to look up at Numendil, in all of it's glory. How badly had he wanted Adunians to finally have a home, a nation for Adunians, by Adunians. He found instead those who's blood runs thin. Those who forgot where they came from, and worship the very devil that drove them out so many years ago.

However, this is not the thought the young Ranger leaves with. He instead is filled with hope, with optimism, a place to sate his desire for a home. A place to where he can finally be happy, where he run away from what the past had wrought unto him.

Though one can only run so far.

    Hi,

I've been hearing some chatter regarding server direction recently—I thought it might be helpful to get ahead of this. Does anybody smell smoke, or are we happy with our experience? Since there is a smattering of topics I figured I would keep this mostly unfocused.

The question I would ask: are we doing enough to defend our position as the premier roleplay server?

    Mission Statement

I've heard this phrase of "The road to 500 players" many times before, but I keep wondering how the admins of this server can even expect this? I am leadership in the Brawms PMC, I'm a core member that has recruited many a 'fleeper' or noobs to the cause of fighting, and I have seen all these new players except one leave (termss a goat fr). Why have these new players left? A simple question answered just as simply; there's nothing to ******* do. I have sat in that little tavern in Urguan and offered insanely high-quality roleplay to these new players, I've asked about their back story, gave them questions and actual situations that would flesh out their character a bit more than they would have thought otherwise, and then I see that they haven't logged on in two weeks because they joined to be a warrior/fighter, not sit around and do tavern rp all day. How can we get these players (at least in my side of things) to actually DO the roleplay they desire? In the current state of the server, we can't really find small and quick fights because everyone is very interconnected with discord, where people are a message away from quitting balders gate to log on and join a 1v5, making it a 6v5, turning a bandit encounter into a fight with guards that should have happened after the encounter. Banditting is dead, which was a pass-time for these kinds of groups, leaving tavern rp which these kinds of players won't enjoy. All these small interactions which would normally hold a player over until the next War of the Whigs, is completely gone. I haven't logged nearly as much time in as I would have because the narrative of being a warrior just isn't there. Of course, unless you want to CRP.

It is a ******* mind-numbing thought that people think a 12 person crp is good for the server, let alone anything higher than 8. Expecting a new player to show up, excited to roleplay a character then be faced with ******* 4 voidal scion with mystic-blade or some shit is horrible. Imagine "Oh man, I'm a warrior who is going out to the world!" Then you get told "well actually I have soul lag so I hit you twice". I would turn that off and never play again on god.

But instead, imagine you're the same new player, and you see the same group of people with rp giga magics, but instead of "i actually hit you twice" its a fight, a battle between warriors, but you still end up losing. It's a much better idea than just having a chat room where some people who play ooc politics get giga powers and others don't. (in regards to new players).

Also, 'prioritizing narrative over clicks' is the stupidest shit i've ever heard in my life my ******* god

I wouldn't play this server for clicks, I can get clicks on kit-pvp and have fun, but I play this server because my clicks MATTER TO THE STORY AT LARGE. I enjoy contributing to a narrative in roleplay, and actually participating in it throughout all of it's stages. I liked cutting of Balon's hands after he cut of my character's hands, it completed an arc for vengeance that my character got. However, I don't like having to sit in front of Norland for 2 hours because "well pvp is called by defenders" so they rally 30 people and fights just don't happen. At that point, you stupid ivory tower fucks are so bent out of shape because it's not chatroom roleplay. We could also talk about Ferrymen V Haense recently, or the numerous times I've caught Ferrymen off at the road and they rally 10 people out of nowhere and turn an unprepared 3 man into a 12 man v our 8. These situations are something that would happen irp, a bandit group being caught unprepared, but are just memed on or shit on causing people to leave the server.

We had a group together, before pvp started and new players just bleed out despite offering tavern roleplay, and slice of life rp to those who are apart of it. They come here to find narrative-driven fights that mean something in the world at large, but instead dont get anything because pvp is so ******* demonized.

Also this whole one size fits all rule scheme is bogus, since it obviously caters to slice-of-life roleplayers. I.E. the Vale. The Vale, under the current rule set, can get raided by twenty people, then have the power to say "we will crp" and force twenty people who are unprepared, and unwilling to sit in a conflict for 4 hours to determine an outcome decided from the get-go. Also I'd like to point out that banditting and road-rp is basically dead except for English duck's psyochpathic group since Frostbeards aren't doing anything anymore. (SHIT RULES). I don't understand why the 8+ pvp rule can't be implemented back again, druids and voidal mages can still have their little crp fights, but when things get too big they can just have a vote INCLUDING EVERYONE INVOLVED to keep it or change it to pvp.

Also on this note, I'd like to say that every crp raid I've done has always transitioned into pvp later, causing wasted time on fighting that meant nothing due to the resolution of the conflict being pvp. Excluding raids, I also think its bogus that players can run around in little darkspawn cliques and absolutely ruin the experience of pvpers, who's main method of conflict resolution involves minecraft mechanics.

I am a fighter irl, I've done Jiu-Jitsu at which I'm a three stripe blue belt, and I do boxing as well. I haven't done hema really, but from what I've gathered from both holding and doing some fun sparring (and looking at interesting shadivesity videos) is that sword combat irl is nothing like 'sword combat' in game. We could talk about powergaming all day, but I'm just going to say 90% of mods aren't equipped to even understand powergaming. I hate this whole bs of "I dodge backwards" while im stabbing someone with a sword. My arm moves faster than your whole body..............

I got off topic, but I'm gonna circle back to the main point of PVP vs CRP to determine conflict resolution. I, fight IRL. Some people don't fight IRL. I should have a distinct advantage all things being equal, but I always give in to stupid CRP bickering because I can't be assed to argue with a 16 year old who needs a win for his little minecraft guy. It is the same way in PVP, but instead of a mod determining the winner, it is determined by who played it better.

TL:DR the admins are ******* stupid, and hate pvp. They want this server to be a chatroom-roleplay server, when instead they should use all minecraft mechanics to enhance the story that is being driven by players who want a narrative. The server in it's current state is unequipped for roleplay to be the deciding factor in conflict, and players, especially newer players, will continue to leave the server until things get better. (If only there was a solution for this that was in affect in the past) (its PVP Default, no crp unless agreed upon)

I think many will agree that at least pcswifts apology was not sincere at all. Instead of going "my bad dude I didn't know. I won't use it again," (which was the response I got from a player 20 mins later who used the same slur) he instead went "so can I not say tree fucker then too???? Where's the line then?"

Tree fucker is not a racial or ethnic slur. He used darkie twice and yes I will admit I should have probably messaged him but I was honestly just so shocked with that blatantly racist interaction. I messaged the player after him and they were far more understanding then him, they even asked me what would be an appropriate remark to make that isn't an irl slur.

He then again showed zero remorse when his response to my own response was simply 'roleplay'.

Both examples you provided were you with people you knew. The bank one while I agree was not bad from the sounds of it, at least would have been at least part of your own ethnicity if it had been bad. By that (I am getting tired so my thoughts are getting a bit blurred) I mean you specified you are jewish and got infractions for being antiemetic. The other was you with itdontmatta who is someone you know.

Pcswift did not know us, we did not know him. Neither of the two groups that interacted last night were friends, this was not us joking around so I find your examples to be invalid and not relative to the argument at hand.

It's true, I'm a huge racist who hates black people so much I find dark elves to be an equivalent and hate them.

But since I've caused this whole situiation I guess I should open up a little about myself

I was born into a jewish/catholic family, but I am extremely jewish looking. Because of this a lot of people, especially in my little neighborhood excluded me for reasons I literally didn't understand when I was younger. I had no friends for a very large part of my childhood because of this, and I had no understanding of why people didn't like me.

I won't share much more but I've been a victim of racism, and I don't really hold any long-built grudges or hatred toward those people, in fact I'm actually friends with one of those people today. Anyways, point is I'm literally not a racist, and I think this whole debate is just a virtue signaling contest to see who can do it harder. It's cringe!

An In-roleplay slur derived from dark-elf dark-e, makes sense. And as for people who don't think dwarves should be racist against skin color

-He's a frostbeard, and frostbeards are the 'outcast' of dwarven clans, and don't share the same ideas they do

-Dark Dwarves are born from a dark elf and a dwarf, which violates Yemekar's teachings

-Dark Elves are cursed with black skin because of a crime they committed, so reminding them of that is a real easy insult

-my character was there to literally start trying to steal from people, so of course dehumanizing his victims would make his job easier

  7. 1 hour ago, ChaoticallyCheshire said:

@DeusVult - To show your characters racism you can simply say ker or dark elves with disdain. To comment on their skin tone will always make the dark elf community and potentially anyone else around incredibly uncomfortable. It will always seem as some kind of underlying ooc racism.

Even if that term is used by others it shouldn’t be. I know it’s something that has been discussed within the community. It’s like when you see someone run a red light, just because they did doesn’t mean you should, so that argument is invalid. Perhaps the mods need to speak with the dwarven community as a whole if this is a term used frequently.

Tree fuckers is not a slur and it is not used towards a marginalized group. I will agree midgets shouldn’t have been used. I think due to all of our shock over the blatant racism over our characters skin tones instead of youth and beauty, some things were said out of shock and ooc anger. Nonetheless it won’t be used again, I can speak for tav when I say that.

@MaltaMoss - They didn’t explain anything to us so it definitely seemed like a slap on the wrist from our point of view. I played on lotc from 2015-2018 and just came back in April. I heard things like racism, homophobia and sexism were no longer taken lightly which is partially why I felt comfortable coming back. Last night was the first time since coming back that I’ve felt like I was back in 2016 and your response definitely did not help.

I understand it being late, I know when it’s late and I’ve had a long day I definitely kind of have shorter responses and sometimes accidentally come off a certain way. I appreciate you responding to this  and apologizing. I would just say next time maybe explain things further in depth?

@Pancho - Just next time don’t show your chars racism by commenting on skin tones? What you emoted wasn’t the worst of it (if your the one who said ‘coal people’ cause idk what your alt is lol) but still not great.

    Roleplay

  8. Hey what's up, I'm PCSwift, the guy who used that term.

I'm really sorry that you felt uncomfortable and possibly even marginalized by that word, nobody should feel that way on a roleplay server. I'll take full responsibility to using that word, as my intention wasn't to make you feel uncomfortable, but rather to show my character as a certain way. It seemed to work, as people showed up 'strapped' with weapons, and we left. We showed up, got ego checked by the guards, and left.

I've seen numerous times 'Darkie' being used to desribe dark elves, Darkie being derived from Dark elf. Dwarves are a very racist race, being ugly and quite brutish in nature, so it's often they look upon elves who are beautiful and youthful with disdain. I will reiterate I was not the first to use it, and I might not be the last.

In the same interaction, my character also calls druids 'Tree fuckers' as again, a way to dismiss their entire character. It has been used in real life too, so should it be banned from the game?

As well as midget, my character was called midget for being a dwarf, and ugly, but there are short people in real life, so should that also not be okay?

There obviously should be a line drawn somewhere, but to where should it be drawn?

  9. Only posting this rant on the forums cuz I'm timed out on the moderator discord (deserved btw and unrelated to this)

I joined this server like early Atlas, and I started as a roleplayer, strictly. I hated pvp because people around me hated it, even though I played hypixel and other minigame esque servers all the time. I had no idea why it should be shunned until I asked, then I got a response as 'its a roleplay server'. This was the sentiment in 2018-2019, being that 'It's a roleplay server, pvp has no place in this server.' PVP Default is bad, but, what I think there should be is a mix of PVP and CRP. There should be a cap on CRP fights, 5-8 players, before it defaults to PVP, unless both sides agree of course. Most often in fights I've participated in while banditting, or raiding, the other side is extremely toxic and uninviting. They typically always play dirty and instead of trying to resolve the conflict irp, look for ways to game the system. This is present in pvp too, ESPECIALLY when the ruleset doesn't support this mode of conflict resolution. I've encountered a ton of situations that were fair, until one side just games the ruleset, or lack there of, into a winning fight.

True, it is. More often than not, it devolves into one side rallying until they get enough guys to call pvp and actually roleplay with another side. Or often it's just one side refusing to pvp, or one side arguing rules of whether pvp is allowed here, or not, not really the point, just explaining transitions to rp and pvp take a long time. Better rules that truly support a roleplay-to-pvp idea can help rectify this part of the server. A lot of times when pvp is bound to happen, these sides are rallying not because they don't want to pvp, but rather because they want to win pvp. Rules that would specifically work against this can help more players who wouldn't get into pvp, actually start enjoying it.

Point 2- "My character is a fighter but I suck at pvp"

This a truly valid point that I find really hard to argue against. It's a roleplay server, and if you play as a guard character who's been around and fought in a lot of small fights, they should be a strong fighter. Imagine this, you play a guard for the city of Petra. You've kidnapped many a goon, and many a evil doer but all of a sudden 5 musin show up, and pvp you. You lose to 5 musin, and you're emasculated, GG! I don't claim to know how to fix this, but I do know that these players should be included in this conversation, especially when it comes to the new rules being set up. I don't actually want to see a return to pvp default to handle combat situations, since it alienates players who don't want to participate in pvp at all. It is a roleplay server, and despite taking place on minecraft, people should be allowed to stay away from things they don't want to participate in.

    Point 3- "I'm a mage, I wouldn't use a sword or armor in crp, why can't I in PVP?"

Hire, or recruit, coders to support a pvp plugin with magic. Nobody doesn't want this.

Point 4- "Pvp doesn't have any carry over to roleplay"

I've heard this point many times before, but I really disagree completely with this. How well you performed in pvp, as in you slew 300 ferrymen, can directly translate into roleplay. You can brag about the ferrymen you killed by holding up their bandanas, or if you ran away from a fight you can emote running back to a nation and cry out for a medic! Especially if you were downed in the fight. You could explain that you led troops to victory, or you made a decisive action that won the fight. How good of a pvper could mean that your character is that much better of a fighter.

Point 5- "Mission statement says pvp is bad"

Honestly I think this is the most brainmelting statement ever. "We don't want it."

    **** you!!!!!!

PVP is a viable way to resolve conflict between two antagonastic parties. With a ruleset that turns their cheek to pvp as a concept, you get the current state of the server where metagaming is encouraged. And defender-default lite is just a way to rally more players until a mod forces pvp anyways, I.E. Urguan-fmen raid, where the whole raid was just fmen raiding, urguan calling crp, rallying 15 guys, then saying "pvp?" before the situation is rightly voided with no conflict resolution. All because someone with a stick up their ass hates pvp!!!!!

Today-I am goonin' around looking for some fun things to do with my friends, then all of a sudden there's a group of 5 guys on patrol! LETS FIGHT THEIR ASS! LETS GO PVP!!

We get halted, then all of a sudden 10 minute timer, they rally 2 horsemen, and its from a 5v4, to a 7v4 because the ruleset doesn't promote any pvp-based interaction. It made my friends feel alienated from wanting to play the server in any regard, and one of them just quit because of this. He roleplayed and pvped, but because there is no pvp rules at all the roleplay behind interactions felt meaningless.

Also I'd like to talk about the sorry state of crp interactions and a very easy way to solve it (it involves pvp)

CRP right now, is just two people who want to win an interaction trying to powergame without getting caught. I saw the Targoth fight, and I've never seen so much powergaming in my life that was just allowed to occur. This guy grabs a burning warhammer with his hand mid-swing, and nobody says anything about it. Just, lets it happen. Disgusting!!!

If people want to win so badly, instead of promoting a ruleset that supports people who type endlessly in Looc, try to re-educate people (thanks ScreamingDingo) to think about narratives and story rather than jsut trying to win because they are the main character. People should be focusing on how their actions might affect other people's roleplay, and that they are in a story like anybody else. We are all roleplaying a character to collaborate and make a story together. A story, that can include pvp!

PVP Should be used in situations where CRP isn't enough to solve it. Banditry for example, is a good place to implement pvp based interactions. I've encountered many people, both bandits and banditees, that have subpar roleplay. When CRP does happen, it usually involves one player calling a mod who can't be assed to deal with a situation, and just rules in favor to end it and get the whole thign voided or  shot to pvp. PVP being a secondary choice to where it had wasted a mods time, wasted the players time, and elongated an interaction from 15 minutes up to 3 hours.

Earlier I brought up re-education, and I genuinely believe that the community can be rehabilitated to a point where I can go out and bandit, and actually give a good experience. Vale, for example, had some great roleplay given to us from them, and I gave some great roleplay back. We kidnapped some of their little goons, tied them all up and held them for ransom. We did some goofy shit and made one of them give a speech to calm their nerves, then I started talking to them irply, just some small talk about what they're gonna do after the situation blows over. My character grew from it, and their characters probably grew too, learning a bit about how my character thinks. It's a cool interaction that I wish could be had more. Sadly, I don't think the community as a whole is in a state that could support this on a wider scale.

TL:DR PVP should be implemented because I don't want to CRP with a 15 year old child who can't spell properly and just wants to win a conflict with his self insert.

Also there should be a hard cap on CRP interactions unless both sides agree to keep it in crp.

  10. Thonar Frostbeards reads the missive as he takes a hit on his Rex Widow blunt. With bloodshot eyes, he begins to laugh outloud "Aren' 'ey tah fock'n reason weh started t'is wah!?" He slams the table in hysterics, then crumples the missive and throws it into the fire

  11. Thonar Frostbeard scratches the beginnings of what will be his beard in years to come. He ponders how others would recieve this for a brief moment, a thought passing through his skull "If otha's dunnae loike t'is, woi don't t'ey stop us?" This thought is gone as soon as it entered, for who can stop the Frostbeards?

  12.             While travelling along the roads, wanderers find about many different oddities. Some are useless bits and baubles, mayhaps tracks of a deer. This, however, is of a different nature. This is a letter, tacked to an unmarked tree in the forests of Almaris, with a bluish-gray dagger. It remains unopened, and will remainso, for many years to come.

         Rin-

How curiously time hath passed, makes me look back on the moments we shared with strange nostalgia. I remember you telling me not to fight for good, or for myself, but for you,

and my family. I remember how you taught me right from wrong, and good from evil. I remember you scolding me for speaking to Dragons, and I felt irritated.

I now ponder why I felt that back then, perhaps it was my desire for independence, my desire to fight, and uncover adventure. It was why I had left for Karkosa, that dreaded realm. There I missed your passing, and your funeral. Where I had given up my family, my friends, my Father, only to be given the life I had desired; independence.

Independence is as it is; lonely. I don't feel any manlier, I don't feel any older for living alone. I feel cold, I feel as a shallow shell of who I once was. I remember once upon a time in our tavern, I was so excited to hear of my people and  the stories that were passed down to me. I now feel burdened with that knowledge, as if I am to bound to carry it to the next generation.

Each day, I feel, is longer than the last. Each day, I yearn to return to my life before, in the Commonwealth of Petra. Where Aviana and Wings would strut about, and you and I would run the tavern. A time not where I fight to have my culture survive, not a time where I felt my people were dying, but of a time of family, of friendship, and peace. These thoughts, these memories of a time long passed fill my head every night as I lay my back in my bedroll.

But Father, it was you who taught me not to dwell on the past. You had taught me that looking back is not the way forward. I realize now I had wasted those years lamenting, brooding over my indecisiveness to stay with my family. I understand now what you had truly meant, when you say those words. Thinking of regret, thinking of the past and what could have been is riddled with wrong thoughts. It will throw you off a cliff into a pit which has no end.

I am now left with a choice, to return to Petra, take up your tavern and live a normal life as a barkeep, surrounded by friends, and carry on what you had given me, or to finish what I had started in That dreaded realm, and possibly open a jar which can not be shut close. The first choice seems easy, and, it is what you would want for me, but, I can not deep down in my heart, choose this. My people, our people, lay dead, slaughtered by Celia’nor, all because of that wretched man. To choose to live in blissful ignorance of that fact, is a weight on my heart upon which will prevent my happiness.

It is with this final thought, I leave you with. I choose not to rest my head and live a long, prosperous life. I can not, for the horrors I bore witness to, for the calamity that was wrought, has slandered my once clean promise of a life well lived. I will return to that realm, I will seek this evil out, and destroy it. I will not live to regret this choice. For the key to all Adunians lies here.

    Rest well, Rin.

  13. Thonar Frostbeard arrives home beaten, and bruised from an unnamed fight with an unnamed people. He takes a seat down at his Father's table, where he reads this missive. After reading it, he heaves a heavy sigh and fully relaxes into his seat, thanking the Brathmordakin that Haense and its people support his great nation of Dwed.

The Dwed will have their revenge.

  14. Hey there everyone, just going to make a post about recent events that have occured, rules simply don't exist anymore on this server, and its staff playing favorites.

    Ex. 1: Banditry in Adria

I was with my group of Frostbeards, we were banditting roads in Adria. We killed a couple people, then sat out on roads. A group of 8 showed up, halted us, then 5 minutes later Orlanth and Wolfdwg (ferrymen/adrians) showed up on horses. Curious...they very clearly should not be able to join the fight. However, a mod claimed that they were "Close enough, and theres 10 minutes that allows people to join." Sure, rule was linked fine. We lose a 10v5

    Ex. 2: Urguani Raid

Adrians raided Urguan, and when we halted them this time, we did not initiate pvp and waited for 5 minutes for fluffycop to join. However, Fluffycop was not allowed to join "Combat had started, because you halted them" Curious....

Ex. 3: Urguani Raid 2 Electric Boogaloo

Ferryman come to urguan to raid...we ring bell, but not according to rules? People log on, but metarallied...because bell was emoted improperly...? We can't log in our own city's square I guess...

People are on, and we wait for crp to be over since we can't join.  But for whatever reason, we can't halt them as they leave, and then they get tp'd out... The ferryman are allowed to leave, for...no reason? Because "You can't camp crp" ermm, that has been ruled as allowed since the rule was established.

Whats the point of the rules if every gm has a different interpretation?

    Billions must crp.

  15. A letter would be found in the mailbox of the Lantham residence, with the initials A.J. on the outside of it. Upon opening, the reader would find the following-

    Benedict Lantham-

I am Asbjorn Foremothers, born to a simple peasant mother in Norland. Of the date of my birth, I am 33 years old, but, I have not lived all those years truly, as I had spent time in a different realm. I have a singular friend, with the rest of my friends and family passing, or gone missing. I spent time with a group of scholars in Karkosa, and helped them achieve research in that horrid place, using my expertise on the field with my blade. I am an able man, able to read, write, participate in mathematics, but, I wish to learn more of the arcane and obtuse. As for this last question, I am truly lacking words in how to describe this particular occurence. Again, within the realm known as Karkosa, I had encountered with other slayers a large bug-like creature, about no bigger than an Orc, in the midst of flight. However, when the creature came to land, it was clear that it's mandibles were made of some kind of alloy, yet moved as if it were organic. Upon my slaying of this creature, it melted into mush, and disappeared into the air.

I thank you for taking the time to read my letter, and hope you consider me as a possible helper.

  16. Recently on the server, I've seen, and been apart of more than a few interactions with what I believe to be stalling, and being a sore loser. It's frustrating for me to be apart of these situations because the conclusion has already been had, it's simply a matter of whether the player or players will accept them.  I used to be one of those players who hated to lose, I couldn't stand being a loser, and I'd use some of those same shenanigans.

Faking modreqs-Claiming to modreq and then afk, waiting for the other player to leave

Modreqs on situations that have already been resolved-modreqqing on things that were resolved earlier, just to stall situations

Stalling, by taking 5-7 minutes between emotes, just for no reason other than to make the guy angry and delay what will happen

Modreqqing, and then not having the modreq be taken because there are only a few Moderators on

Giving low quality crp emotes then begging for pvp

Lying about things in ooc to get your way

I've got no idea how to solve any of these, but I think some of them are covered in the new rules. Still, I see these time and time again constantly being abused by the same kind of players, and it's annoying to watch when you know what they're doing.
