The darkness overtakes this person, perhaps a serpent should take refuge in a den where no one will ever see them again. One could just see, one just saw colors of the world, and now there is only emptiness in their visage. But for how long?

Freya had been in this state of darkness for some time over an elven week now. The only thing she could remember seeing was the argument she had with her mal’onn, August. Being of ancestral birth in the Athri’onn faith Freya whispered small prayers to her ancestors, those Matriarchs and Patriarchs that had come before her, “Ancestors, why have you taken my sight, why have you deemed me unfit now to lead this family and see to the growth of my kin. When you chose me over the rest of my kin to lead?” 

The Athri’onn continued through the days, only going out of her home when needed within court meetings of Celia’nor, simply when asked. “A public figure, So much I have yet accomplished, please. . .” She pleaded prayers and other uncertain phrases to herself every day and cried herself to sleep with these every night. The insanity this ‘curse’ has brought to her is something one might never be able to work past, would it be better for her to be like her mother and dive deeper into her arts to the point it drives her even more mad? This disease was given by the ancestors through a speaker of their stories, a family elder. How could she have upset them this much? 

“I only wish to fix the things I have broken, I only wish to please you. Please I beg of you for the sight back for this curse is too much to handle.” Her mind continued to wonder with these thoughts. . .

((VISION DEPENDING ON ACCEPTANCE OF FA)) 

Finally, Freya fell asleep after hours or even days, in this moment she felt in a place of peace to sleep. During her slumber she began to toss and turn, terrible vision would plague her- a serpent dead; pierced by a gem on an emerald crown. Soon after a static-like image was given to her before another image- a serpent wrapping around a grimoire, then a flash of energy, a voice. . . Something she felt she recognized, “Mother of Serpents. . . Look at us.”

The flash of energy dimmed as all was in her head now, and she began to wake - looking around a room that seemed to be a dimly lit library with a floating book that held an olive-hued aura emitting from it. There were figures on the second floor of the library but she couldn’t see who they were. “Freya. . . We have heard your call. And have accepted you have learned from the lack of effort you have put into our kin.” The voice echoed through the halls of the library. As Freya looked back down at the book she realized a figure with blonde hair standing next to you, though one could not see the face of said being, it was simply darkness. 

The figure spoke, “Young lari. Daughter.  It is time you claim what is truly yours.” This voice boomed through the halls louder than all who spoke previously,  it then waved its hand and a gust of wind knocked Freya to her back. She had truly woke from her visions now, with whispers of, “The Cloth” - clear directions for the lari.

In the mystical realm of Aschenwald, a tale unfolds with a young scion of the House of Bardenwig. Having just fashioned his inaugural bow from the wood of Aschenwald's ancient trees, the boy harbored a daring ambition. That fateful night, he set forth into the enchanted woods, driven by the desire to secure his first kill and astonish his parents with a triumphant return.

Under the veil of the night, the woods emanated an eerie aura, where visibility extended only a few feet, and the perilous terrain demanded careful navigation. Acquainted with the perils the Aschenwald concealed, the boy traversed cautiously, retracing the trails he had once trodden with his father. Every step was calculated, his eyes vigilant for the subtlest movement in the brush, his bow aimed at the shadowy treeline.

Abruptly, a pair of luminescent yellow eyes pierced the darkness, startling the young adventurer. From the shadows slithered forth a creature of fantastical proportions—scaled and sinuous, possessing the tail and tongue of a serpent yet bearing the torso of a man. Its hands morphed into razor-sharp talons, and with uncanny speed, it closed in on the boy. Despite his fleet-footed sprint behind the ancient trees, the creature pursued, hunting him with determination.

In the moment of dire confrontation, a burst of scarlet fabric materialized, heralding the arrival of a figure clad in armor. The figure, with flowing locks, brandished a sword of otherworldly craftsmanship, half their size. "Get back!" they commanded, charging fearlessly toward the serpent-man creature. The boy, gripped by both awe and fear, beheld the ensuing battle between mortal and voidal. 

The armored figure, revealed to be of human origin, skillfully engaged the foe. With a deft display of swordplay, they clashed back and forth for minutes. The air resonated with the sound of steel and otherworldly roars, and as blood pooled on the soil, the boy's vision blurred, succumbing to the enveloping darkness.

At the break of dawn, the young adventurer awoke at the edge of the treeline, astonished to find his bow unscathed, and his person untouched by the night's ordeal. Thus, the legend of Guinevere I, the Margravine turned forest inquisitor, deepened its roots in the mind of the Aschenwald people. The Protectress of the Aschenwald would go on to become a household name for the people of Velen and a name that is prayed for quietly before entering the woods.

Much excitement and joy now fills the realm of Celia’nor with the announcement of Prince Illthrak’s coronation. With such, we in the courts would like to host a ball to celebrate the royarch. It is a time to celebrate our nation’s history and the great things that His Majesty, Illthrak I will bring with his rule.

We ask that all guests of this event come in true Celian colors, to paint the rooms in reds, and greys. We would also like to make a special request of the peerage of the realm to adorn themselves in the colors of their own Talonniian. May the stars above guide you all.

The Welcome Reception

The guests of the event are to arrive at the palace of Celia’nor and be offered drinks from the winery, as calming music plays in the background of all the greetings and other chatter that will fill the halls.

Opening Remarks by Prince Illthrak I

His Royal Majesty, Prince Illthrak will then deliver a true and heartfelt speech of the future to those present. Expressing his excitement, along with something he looks forward to during his rule, with a toast to end such.

The Celebration Ball

Then the dancing will begin with upbeat music flowing to the ears of all around, drinks continuously being served to keep the moods of the guests high. There will be many forms of Celian dancing through the rest of the night to celebrate the Prince.

With this simple structure, growth is able to be had and capability will increase with rank. Besides the internal ranking the actual duties of the Centurions are simple and can be split up into three main categories;

Patrolling & Protection:

• Maintaining the other within the state

• Patrolling territories within the borders of the state

• Elimination of possible threats, such as darkspawns and any other dangers

• Protecting the realm as a whole in case of any occurring dangers or in case of a war

The Athri’onn Bloodline

Introduction

The Athri'onn are a small, new, and lesser known bloodline of Mali'Aheral that are often secretive and intelligent people. They pride themselves on the knowledge they hold and the many different professions they upkeep, such as healers, blacksmiths, and mages. In elven Athri’onn means to be kin to the serpent so many of the bloodline have been described as clever, charming, and cunning.

History

The Athri’onn name did not come into play for a rather long time, originating within the walls of Haelun’or as the family began to collect knowledge and grow. 

The name was created off the Fennic bloodline of Sylric, which then Sylric and Athri’onn became more acquainted with and began to work upon a family shooting off many different lines and generations of Athri’onns. 

A ‘aheral called Durion Sylric… The son of Eirlys Sylric and Henry Lernael , in which Durion would begin to start a line with a woman named Celest Athri'onn, a Mali’aheral woman who was a soldier, and fought for the state. The couple had three children: Renae, Tanyl, and Petra.Durian was a man who’s name graced the tongue of many women, and true to his nature he used this,creating many children who the Athri’onn family would adapt to and eventually invite into the Serpent household. Durion's bastardized line, in part, can be seen today as Leona Athri’onn, Zephyrus Athri’onn, and  Becclain Athri’onn. 

Over time these children have grown and become their own beings, some doctors, some great scholars, and some into magnificent practitioners of the various forms of Magic in this world. 

Appearance

As Athri’onn are mainly composed of fairly tall mali’aheral, it being rather rare for =other races to be seen as members of the family who have chosen to join their culture and beliefs. They have come to be seen with fair skin tones, with some being particularly paler than others. They are seen with a variety of  different hair colors going from ginger and blonde to silver or gray. Along with such they have a variety of eye colors, such as blue, violet, purple, and occasionally green eyes. The Athri’onn tend to dress in very high-class clothing, adorning themselves in the finest that the world has to offer...

The bloodline marking the Athri’onn hold is commonly seen to be on one’s ankle, The marking is to be a secretive thing that the Athri’onns hold upon their bodies, usually hidden under clothes or beneath their hair. This shows the Serpent kin know what it means to be a serpent, “clever , charming, and cunning.”

 As the Serpent Mother-  Renae Athri'onn, serves as a Councilor in Celia’nor, many of the Athri’onn have made and are still making the journey to the city of stars.

The Serpent Mates (Finding Love)- Finding love is something that the Serpent kin hold close. When an Athri'onn finds a mate and courts them they are seen to then ask for marriage fairly early on. If themate of the Athri’onn has accepted the proposal they will report said thing to the Serpent Mother, for the Serpent Mother will then begin planning a ceremony of sorts consisting of the following events: the mates festival which includes different games to celebrate the couple, a feast, the wedding ceremony where the couple will come in front of the Serpent Mother, presenting a single gift to one another, and finally they will then say their vows and be wed. 

The Birth of a Hatchling- The birth of a Athri’onn hatchling (child) is something the serpent born holds closely, when a child is born the Athri’onn have a feast to show how grateful they are that a child is born. 

The Hunt- Once a hatchling is born it is a wonderful thing that the Athri’onn celebrate though after time passes by a Hatchling cannot be a hatchling forever, so they are chosen by a Elder of the bloodline which the elder shall educate them in the art of combat. They go through many training sessions over time. Once an elder sees the hatchling is ready to move on, they will send a notice to the family in which they schedule a hot for the family where the Serpent mother or father decide if the child is ready to be a full serpent. If not deemed ready they shall continue training, though if deemed ready, they will feast on the hunt and then be given the serpent marking and become a full serpent.

Family, Always and Forever- The Athri’onn find themselves to care for those they see as family more than anything else. They are taught to fight and defend for them, no matter what the situation might be.

With knowledge comes power- This is a saying the Athri’onn use to  simply say that when one has great knowledge, power shall surely come after it. Such knowledge could be anything that the Athri’onn may use against someone. They pride themselves on being sly in this matter when needed to get what is best for the Athri’onn bloodline.

Upkeep of the World and the Balance- One of the values the Athri’onn hold deeply is no matter what one shall keep the balance of the world. The Athri’onn believe that all things that happen upon this world are members of the balance.

The Serpent Father or Mother- The Serpent Father and Mother are essentially the same thing meant for either a male or female head of Athri’onn, they are to act as the Lord and Lady of the bloodline.

Serpent Elders- Serpent Elders are those who have proven many times that they are and can set the example of what it takes and how to be a serpent. They are the storytellers, and main educators of the bloodline. 

Serpents- These are the ordinary members of the bloodline, these are either the hatchlings who have finished the hunt, and those who have proven themselves to be true serpents.

Hatchlings- The youngest members of the bloodline, those who have joined the bloodline but not completely devoted, those who are either just born or waiting to finish the hunt. They are not tasked with much and much is not expected of them when in the hatchling stage.

The Headmaster/Headmistress:

 Head to the college, the Headmaster/Headmistress is responsible for formulating the criteria of the academy of students, to oversee student growth and educational content. They are equally responsible for the conduct of their students, and expected to serve punishment towards students who are committing rowdy behavior. 

Arcanic Lecturer/Mentor:

Teachers to entire classes of students, Arcanic lecturers are responsible for tutelage of basic class lectures and educational content. Expected to engage and teach their students, Lecturers are seen as pillars to the college in creating the next generation of avid scholars and sorcerers. Lecturers, however, teach classes of several students, whereas mentors are responsible for teaching individual students. While they can both take on multiple students, and hold lecture classes; they generally form mentorships with individual under-graduate students attempting to learn Evocations or Arcane Forging.

Arcane Scholar: 

Pupil towards lecturers and students, Scholars are generally considered of two groups, of youths attending the college as general students in both the arcane, and educational sector, and older alumni who study the arcane arts alongside other fields of study. Both are under the tutelage of Lecturers, and expected to not only act appropriately inside the college, but produce productive grades to advance in their studies.

Arcane Theory/Basics:

An introductory class to the fundamentalism of the practice, function, application, and theoretical aspects of the Arcane, Arcane Theory/Basics teaches the understandings and tutelage of a student's introductory years of Arcane practice. Both on an application of arcanic sciences in the laboratory sense, the philosophical in creative and documentative writing, and practice of the basic arts of the Arcane. While largely a class of classwork and study, the class does teach the basics and intro level understandings of how to practice in meditation, honing skills, and preparation towards being assigned mentors. This class is considered a requirement to prepare for Specialty classes.

Defense against the dark arts:

Dedicated to the study of arcanic defense, the Defense Against the Dark Arts class is for the purpose of studying how to best defend oneself against the practice of dark magic, shades, and other abhorrent magics, through either active prevention of hexes, or defense against the dark arts through defensive combat and how best to defeat abhorrent magic users. 

Magical Creatures:

Introduction to Magical Creatures, is a subject of field of study that studies the biology of Magical Creatures, from anatomy, to population statistics, taming, and other lessons of these magical beasts. Largely practiced by beast-tamers, this class intends to teach students how to properly engage with fantastical creatures, or how to properly avoid dangerous beasts from bringing harm to the individual or populace. Magical creature studies include mythology, transfiguration, and other oddities of the beastial world.

Deific Magics:

Centered on the practice of Deity magics, Deific Magics is a class to be easily said as kept under a watchful eye. Centered on the field of studying and practicing Deity magic, it is largely kept under the watchful eye of the Ancient Arcanic Council. Largely considered a taboo by many within the Ember City, it is monitored closely to reach a better understanding of these strange and mythical arts.Largely made of rituals and tools, it is a class that seeks to expand students to the concept of the divine magics.

General Studies:

Necessary to a fully rounded education, general studies is a requirement of all students to pass, with topics such as literacy and basic math to be passed. General studies is a broad subject, including basic rundowns of content including reading and writing for youths and in-need adults. Math is a subject many are required to be able to pass with a basic understanding of math operations as a basic, and promotion of Algebra for post-grad students in general studies. Literacy is deemed highly valued and therefore a requirement to all youth students to learn.

Evocations:

The masters class of alumni of Arcane theory/basics, Evocation class is for the purpose of suiting a student with a mentor into learning one of the many degrees of Evocational magic. Evocation is the most hands-on class, with a focus on meditation, establishing a link, and spell practicing. A student may attend Evocation class for as long as necessary to establish them as a versed practitioner of Evocational Magic. 

Arcane Forging:

The practice of drawing forth one's connection to the void, Arcanic forging study deals in the education of this ability to hone one's latent energies into the physical. Students will learn from assigned mentors in this field in both experimentation and research of this practice and ability. 

THE ANCIENT ARCANIC COUNCIL

Over lifetimes conflict rules over those of the different arts of ‘magic’ such as drui, magi, and others. . . So we in the Academy have come to the conclusion to create a council of sorts under the Lady Sorceress of Celia’nor to keep the peace between the different groups. So we may work as one body, with the goal to preserve the realm, for as long as we may live. -Renae Athri’onn

The Chairman/Chairwoman: The Chairman or Chairwoman of the Council most likely are seen as the head of magic within the realm of Celia’nor. Their duties are to hold meetings for the council to discuss issues of the realm related to that of magic, being the figurehead they hold the final vote in whatever the council does within Celia’nor must be approved by the chair before action. The current title holder of Chairwoman is Lady Renae Athri’onn, Lady Sorceress of Celia’nor.

Arcanic Representative: This is an intelligent and trustworthy lord or lady, who practices and mastered one or more of the void arts. They are in charge of delivering information to the council on topics like voidal tainting such as; voidal corruption of land, the opening of rifts or tears within the realm. They are to be the vote of the magi of the city and work for the best of magi kind. The Current holder of this position is, Valyris Wynasul, High Magus of the Arcanic Court

Druidic Representative: The Druidc Representative has been invited to Celia’nor from that of their circles to give such a magi dominant realm an understanding of the Balance, the true workings of nature. To prevent more conflict from druid v. magi workings, they are to watch over, and give advice on how to keep the balance within our realm, at all times. The current holder of this position is, Lady Elara Athri’onn, the Goliath Druid, Archdruid of the Circle of Crows

Princess’s Advisor: The Princess’s Advisor is an advisor hand picked by the Chairman or Chairwoman to sit and watch over the council meetings and workings at all times. They sit with the council not to vote, but for the sole purpose of relaying information of the meetings back to the High Princess. The current holder of this position is, Lord Becclain, The Kestrel Druid

The Serpent Mother, Renae Athri'onn moved into a rather dim room- it seemed to be a library with a singular large desk in the center. The elfess frowned as she spotted Becclain sitting at the desk reading over a missive and shaking his head. "Ti. . . So much drama. . .  both the valah and the imperial mali are so dramatic." The magi chuckled then, as she placed a hand upon Becclain's right shoulder. "It's as if they are all running about without their heads on. . ." The elfess paused looking about the room, moving over some to place herself on top of the desk in front of Becclain. "Let me tell you about what happened between your nephew and I in Celia'nor. . ." The elfess then went to rambling.
