  1. It’s really just a post to get ST thinking about this again to give us a race. Yes you could in theory?
  2. Introduction to the Tritons Race The Tritons live amid the waves and the ocean depths and have an average lifespan of 250 years. Tritons fight underwater with tridents, spears, and nets. The Tritons fell in love with the wild beauty of the ocean in the earliest days of the world. Tritons navigate the deepest currents and explore the waters across the world. Today, they form small, hidden communities in the ocean shallows. History of the Tritons Tritons first appeared in the Sea untold ages ago. For many years, these creatures lived nomadic lives and spent much of their time exploring the waters of their world. The Tritons did not begin to settle down and form permanent communities in the depths until now. From the safety of the water, they kept their interactions with the surface to a minimum. Tritons have fought many wars against the evil species of the sea, but surface-dwellers know very little of these tales. One of the main reasons Tritons stays away from the Land since they will die if they spend too much time on land which has resulted in the Tritons being rather seclusive. Triton Description Tritons have a different appearance to those from the land . Considered beautiful by humans, and similar surface races, Tritons are graceful and quick-witted people. Their skin can be the pale white or gold of beach sand, the russet of living coral, or the green-black of deepwater kelp. They are robust and tall with long limbs, and long, thickly webbed digits. The Tritons are tall, standing 6 feet or more in height resembling humans in body build by weighing an average of 175 pounds. Their hair is usually thick and somewhat stringy and could be blue, black, silver, white, or even occasionally red. Eyes are oddly colored, ranging from an iridescent blue to gold to a white-silver hue that shines like mother-of-pearl. Their hands and feet are webbed, which is very unusual for the other races but is a part of the curse. The most unusual feature was the gills visible in their necks and over their ribs. They are lightly clad, their clothes are formed from underwater plants, in blacks, browns, and greens. Warriors clip their hair, but others wear it long and flowing. Tritons can live either in or out of the water but only for one day, but most prefer homes in the watery depths of oceans and seas. They establish small communities, uniting with other Tritons as needed for protection but remaining largely independent. Some of these communities are built partly above and partly below the water, with ha lf-Tritons living in the open air, while their aquatic kin makes their homes below. Tritons consider themselves enlightened people capable of appreciating life in more dimensions than other creatures. When they do interact with other races, they often appear aloof and dismissive, as though bored or distracted, though this is not necessarily the case as they pay close attention to the details of the story being told. Triton Personality Water Elves are isolationist by their physical nature, and by choice, though they were not quite as reclusive as the high elves. They trust only themselves, their clan, and no others. They couldn't understand why the surface elves did not understand that community and alliances meant survival, whereas rivalry and factionalism meant death. Their alliances with other elves were not based on racial affinity but on gain. However, this caution is tempered with curiosity and Water Elves could spend much time secretly observing the land-bound races. The Tritons fear the deep trenches of the Ocean Floor as the Sea Elves believe they are inhabited by evil beings. Triton Culture Society is based on family and clan, and although females do wield power, they are patriarchal. Noble families rule, but in a benign and loose fashion rather than with an iron fist. Families or individuals might own their dwellings but most other property is held in common. Such communal ownership meant theft is almost unknown. Tritons have an even more overdeveloped sense of self-worth than those found on land. They see their land-bound cousins as limited by their environment, boasting that they have embraced a biome filled with life and endless possibilities. Many Tritons band together into small communities, more for mutual defense than any perceived racial bond. Some Tritons distrust humans, who they believe conceal expansionist motives and have a reckless disregard for danger—especially as concerns ancient and dangerous magic. Triton Land Triton cities are wonders to behold, crafted as they are of living coral. They gleam with mother of pearl and shells scoured bright, and among them swim fish of a thousand colors. The borders of these cities are guarded by soldiers with tridents, spears, and nets, as are the hunter-gatherer parties sent out to retrieve food among the fish and carefully cultivated fields of food plants nearby. Tritons are ruled by a loose feudal system, with clans of Tritons swearing fealty to noble houses who take an oath to protect those clans beneath them. All it takes to confer nobility upon a clan is to have another clan swear fealty to it, so most clans have had times in their histories when they were considered nobility. Triton Adventurer Triton adventurers are often driven by a need to discover more about the other people and creatures in the world, for Triton culture is very insular. They find themselves among strange races and cultures that they never dreamed possible. Most look forward to the day when they can return to their own people once more to tell the stories they have lived. Some begin a life of adventuring after undertaking an extended quest away from their homes Common First Names and Clan Names Each clan has a name that is often translated into Common around surface dwellers. Personal names are given at birth and maintained throughout the life of the Triton. Common Male Names: Arvastan, Balthonlis, Barishlin, Deranthil, Ervastath, Kerithlan, Perilastanor, Poldanlin. Common Female Names: Avashtana, Bihalisha, Deirastane, Firiashe, Iridansa, Tiliashanna, Xiphalia, Yrashiae. Common Clan Names: Anterome (Brightwave), Danlianthol (Silverpearl), Garinlastil (Scarletleaf), Gyrashiil (Joy-bringer), Iandaal (Brightwhisper), Ieriantol (Kinwatcher), Oromae (Silvercoral), Perlantasil (Nightwater). Favored Class A Triton's favored class is a fighter. While Tritons have few organized armies, individual fighting skills are highly prized. They fight with fists, tridents, and nets mainly. Triton Tools Arms and Armor Tritons rarely use metal tools due to the inevitable damage most metals suffer to saltwater corrosion. One notable exception is gold. Many Tritons have mastered the art of beating gold into beautiful jewelry because forging metals is all but impossible underwater. For the most part, their tools, weapons, and armor are made from materials they have on hand underwater. Shipwrecks are a major source of materials for Tritons, although they are careful to honor any who may have died before looting the sunken cargo holds. In an underwater world, bludgeoning and slashing weapons are nowhere near as efficient as piercing weapons. Tridents and spears are therefore the favored weapons of the Tritons, and these weapons can be found in amazing varieties and styles throughout the various undersea communities. Bone, narwhal horns, and even coral are used to build these weapons. Although they are more fragile than regular steel weaponry, they are easy to construct. Weighted nets are also a popular weapon for Tritons, who have perfected methods of throwing such weapons so that they drift and unfold in the water almost like large octopi or manta rays. Armor is generally eschewed by Tritons for two reasons. First is slowing their swimming speed and agility. Second, most metal deteriorates over time underwater. As a result most Tritons simply rely on their natural quickness to protect them in combat. Shields crafted from shells are common, and those elves with the resources often resort to magical means of protection, such as rings of protection and amulets of natural armor. Animals and Pets Tritons have a strong affinity for dolphins and porpoises, and they usually live in the same areas as these aquatic mammals. Most Triton communities have several of these creatures as guardians, messengers, and playful companions. Tritons also have a great and abiding respect for the larger whales, and although the migratory habits of the great sea mammals preclude the possibility of recruiting them as guardians or companions, many Tritons build communities long-established migration routes so that twice-yearly they receive visits from the stately creatures. A young Triton often leaves home for a year just to accompany a pod of migrating whales. Some Triton communities have been known to train and keep sea lions as guardians as well, especially in dangerous areas. Sharks are universally hated by Tritons, many think of these creatures as unnatural monsters created by Iblees to further curse them. Artistic Depiction of the Tritons
  3. The fact that this might happen is terrifying! Literally ten years worth of information and culture is on here. I recommend everyone should back up your posts quickly!
  4. Thank you Benji :) I hope we can talk more eventually you sound very kind just from these simple words.
  5. It’s alright my feedback still applies none the less. And I completely agree I have been rather to say “give up” on certain things. I’ve been trying to get better at it. Thank you Libby. Much love to you but I felt like I needed to post such a thread to actually spread how I feel at this moment in LOTC.
  6. Thank you for your feedback. I will do my best to follow your advice Language.
  7. I’ve made some mistakes in my time on this server. Some things I’m not very proud of, things that I regret doing very much. I wish there was a way I could turn back that clock to fix them but you know there isn’t a button to do that. You can’t fix things by undoing them you can only move onwards to do something that shows what type of person you really are at the heart. I’m sorry to the many I’ve hurt in my time on LOTC beginning all the way in July 2018. I’ve had many great friends who I no longer talk to because of mistakes I made on this server. Some of those are TreeSmoothie, Ozziemine, ItsNCarr, BenjiBot, Chorale, and many others to name just a few. I sincerely regret most of the things I’ve ever done on this server that have hurt the community and people around me. For the longest time ever I just wanted to be at the top of everything but it took me a while to realize that being at the top isn’t important, it’s having friends and a community around you that makes this server fun for everyone. I just hope I am able to move on, to make a positive impact on this community from this moment onwards. All I ask is that maybe I can get guidance of how to do this better, and constructive criticism.
  8. Edith smiles happily at her fiancé as they send out the invitation to their friends and family. “I just hope we have everyone show Silvius!”

  11. This post is roughly eleven weeks overdue but I’m posting it anyway. Saalih Al-Nabeel has turned himself in to the Sheikh of Al-Faiz, being confined to his cell for a month he has caught the deadly virus of Ebola in the deep confines of the prison. “I do believe I am sick” he says to himself as he begins coughing up blood and running a high fever. As time goes on he begins feeling better but his trial date looms and he has not yet been fully well. As his son visits him they converse very little about the coming trial. “Son you do know in a few days I will very likely be executed” Saalih III “Why Baba?” An utter quiet fills the cell as they finish talking about this sad matter. The next day Saalih is dragged out of his cell by the guard force and kneeled before the Sheikh, as it continues the trial he begins feeling heart compressions but doesn’t speak, inside his body the disease that has been ravaging him is causing clots of blood to block his major arteries causing some system failures in his body. As the trial nears conclusion and the sentence is spoken which Khalid Al-Nabeel cries out “DEATH” a upset and heartbroken Saalih collapses in tears as his body gives up in anguish, pain and sadness. Within moments his body is completely dead suffering from cardiac failure. As this unfolds his sister Aera Von Santen steps forward, sword in hand delivering a quick stab to the dead Saalihs heart to be utterly sure of death. As Saalih enters the Seven Skies he is greeted not by family but by past friends that he aided in the battle of Petrus, and in the clinics he served. This post took me many hours to write and plenty of tears as I recalled this character which was my favorite one I ever played. But all things ended well I believe. Thank you Nabeels for the great rp on Saalih!
  12. I legit thought this was real then I noticed it wasn’t posted by a staff lol well done!
  13. Elrendil being dead himself would welcome his former pupil into the Seven Skies with open arms. “You lived a good life my friend!”
  14. Dear Wiki Team, I as a player of LOTC who joined in the last two years find these many pages the team is deleting rather annoying. If this proceeds we henceforth lose many years of history in our wonderful server. I therefore urge you all to reconsider this decision and keep the beloved pages of many important historical figures in our server. Thank you, Sincerely, The Players.

  18. Introduction to the Mali’mer Race The Aquatic Elves, also known as Sea Elves, Water Elves, and the Mali’mer in Elven, are water-breathing cousins to land-dwelling elves. They live amid the waves and the ocean depths and have an average lifespan of 750 years, with allies such as dolphins and whales. Aquatic Elves fight underwater with tridents, spears, and nets. The sea elves fell in love with the wild beauty of the ocean in the earliest days of the multiverse. While other elves traveled from realm to realm, the sea elves navigated the deepest currents and explored the waters across the world. Today, they form small, hidden communities in the ocean shallows. History of the Mali’mer Aquatic Elves, also known as Sea Elves first appeared in the Great Sea untold ages ago, the last of the major elven races to migrate from the elven homeland to Arcas. For many years, these elves lived nomadic lives and spent much of their time exploring the waters of their new world. The Aquatic elves did not begin to settle down and form permanent communities in the depths until now. From the safety of the water, they kept their interactions with their land bound kin to a minimum. Aquatic Elves have fought many wars against the evil species of the sea, but surface-dwellers know very little of these tales. One of the main reasons Sea Elves stay away from the Land Elves since they will die if they spend over twenty four hours on land which has resulted in the Sea Elves being rather seclusive in a sort of Self Imposed exile. Mali’mer Description Although they are of the same subrace, Aquatic Elves had a different appearance to those from Land Elves. Considered beautiful by many elves, humans, and similar surface races, aquatic elves are a graceful and quick-witted people. Their skin can be the pale white or gold of beach sand, the russet of living coral, or the green-black of deepwater kelp. Many aquatic elves band together into small communities, more for mutual defense than any perceived racial bond. Some aquatic elves distrust humans, who they believe conceal expansionist motives and have a reckless disregard for danger—especially as concerns ancient and dangerous magic. Aquatic Elven Land Aquatic elf cities are wonders to behold, crafted as they are of living coral just as many elf cities on land are made from still-living trees. Favored Class An aquatic elf's favored class is fighter. While aquatic elves have few organized armies, individual fighting skills are highly prized. Land bound elves may prefer stealth and archery, but the underwater environment dictates speed and skill in melee instead. As a bow is not much use underwater Sea Elves prefer a Trident over the Bow unlike other Elven races. Arts & Leisure The special acoustics of a watery environment lent themselves to music, and sea elves are exposed to the eerie and beautiful songs of the whales and other denizens of the deep. It is not surprising that aquatic elven bards have a range of powerful and evocative songs. Many of their songs are sung in the halls of Sea Elven Kings. Aquatic Elf Equipment Aquatic elves rarely use metal tools due to the inevitable damage most metals suffer to saltwater corrosion. One notable exception is gold. Many aquatic elves have mastered the art of beating gold into beautiful jewelry, because forging metals is all but impossible underwater.
