      Directly supporting the empire- no

supporting other places under the empire in hopes for them to be free, and also not wanting to be constantly attacked by the majority of the world.

I have characters for their reasons, 2 elves have their reason

@Wizzaryou forget the context of haelunor attempted subjugation of elven kind in at least three different instances over the “lifespan” of elves (think with the 1000 year concept, subjugation has been attempted multiple times in like 400/500 years)

Most elves would be very happy the institution of Haelunor is gone and its policies are being reversed onto them (purity and stuff). People also forget the whole point of the haelunor execution was not for the crime of being elven, it was for harboring undead/mystics and actively aiding them. Where most of their targets were against the empire itself. I understand the wish for unifying against the imperials with the elven liberation front, but the current coalition is based on trying to solely tumble Hadrian and most elves are okay with what he does, especially in most of the main vassals. Even being more complex, siding with the dwarves does mean if they lose, you’re basically wiped off the map. It’s a gamble where people are still choosing sides and allegiances. If they win, great, Imperials are gone, but if the dwarves did lose, it would be met with severe consequences for those that sided with them.

the true elf mentality is to just “wait it out”, immortality from time basically means that inaction is normally the true policy of most elves. They will simply outlive the firecracker era of violence

So the RP massacre of the entirety of Haelunor may be forgiven (or even encouraged)? It seemed quite extreme from an RP perspective. Genuinely curious - I do not know enough about this.

modern hnor was a far cry from anything that represents actual hnor. my character is a 'thill and has watched nothing but the slow intellectual death of their home, the near assimilation into cnor, and the brain-worm plague.

Not to say my character doesn't hate for it, but she puts that hate on the fennics. In her mind - supporting the empire is preferable to being subjugated. But that is the defeatist attitude of knowing that even a united elfdom is dwarfed by human clickers

and yeah, dingo made a good point about waiting it out. hadrians entire lifespan is a fart in a bath, why care that much if you can simply just go find a nice spot in the woods and wait it out?
