  1. Sister Ethel was diligently preparing Mother Anna's morning repast within the abbey's living quarters. Upon a wooden tray, she carefully arranged a loaf of bread and tea, adhering to routine. It was at this moment that Ethel took note of the distant echoes of war reaping through the abbey's tranquility. Apprehension gripped her, particularly considering Mother Anna; whose days were seemingly near their twilight. Ascending the abbey's time-worn stairs, Ethel's hands trembled, causing the contents on the tray to softly clink. With care, she gently pushed open the door upon reaching Mother Anna's chamber, advising as usual, "Await with patience the tea, for it is piping hot." As the tray found its resting place upon the bedside table, Ethel's discerning eyes persceived a change in the unresponsive Mother. A gasp escaped her lips as a sudden sorrow engulfed her. Sinking to her side, she instinctively reached for the Lorraine adorning the Mother's neck. Cool to the touch, Ethel closed her eyes, bowing in prayer. "May GOD care for you now.." "Though punished you shall be for your wrongs, that I know," she murmured at last, gently veiling her own hollowed eye.
  2. Upon departing Petra, where she had recently sought remedies, the Nun happened upon a flyer affixed to a lamppost. Her lips curled with pride as she read the heading, and thus Sister Ethel of Whitespire took a brief moment to peruse some details of her beloved place of home and origin.
  3. Sister Ethel dwelt on the memory of her suspected encounter with those very nuns of treacherous mien. She gazed out from the narrow leaded panes of the abbey's stone walls, wherein she had sought vigilant refuge for a span of several days. Within her grasp rested a slayersteel dagger; a Petran knight's offering to ensure her safeguard. Muttering softly, Ethel vowed: "None shall tread upon these sacred abbey gardens.."
  4. Sudden tidings of King James' passing struck Sister Ethel, enshrouding her heart in gloom. Fervently gripping her Lorraine cross, her immediate musings turned to her dearest Reverend Mother Anna, and the anguish she surely endured. In the hours to come, she would seek solace and tranquil refuge in prayer at the Abbey.
  5. Sister Ethel briefly takes her mind from her book of scripture after a long afternoon spent tending to the Abbey gardens, using that moment of silence and peacefulness to read up on the history of the Judite brothers and sisters before herself.
