Good Evening LotC! Today I am here to announce something that has been in effect for sometime but we failed to make it clear enough for most players to see, something of our own fault and so it's been a bit of a confusion on behalf of the staff team communicating with the playerbase.
Mechanic standard has been for a little while repealed, being revoked and another alternative has been placed in it's steadfast. Mechanical Standard is what we base this new standard off of, but with some clear lines that were not present within the MechStandard System.
This standard is dubbed the 'Common Sense' Standard, and as it says on the tin - it is largely based around what we (the staff & The Lore Team) believe to make appropriate sense while still leaving room for open innovation and clever mechanics.
The motto of this standard is this: If you can do it in MC & in RP, do it. If you can do it in MC but not in RP, don't do it.
The heavy emphasis is on this as well: If you can do it in MC but not in roleplay, do not attempt to write lore for it and then do it.
These are the two major points of this standard. It is based off of mechstandard, but there are many red lines that are pretty easy to find if you use, as the tin suggests, 'Common Sense'
Some major pointers:
The list goes on, but to outline them all here is something of a feat of it's own - the ideal is that players will recognize red lines on their own and build off of it. If this, however, cannot be achieved a more concrete outlining will be formed.
