  1. The Holy Kingdom of Eadn
    مملكة عدن

    Population: 73,500

Eadni Year 07 - The Planet Eadn
    ----

With the failure to allocate enough resources to allow the scientists to adequately do their jobs, the Sultan of Eadn vows to never allow such a catastrophe again. With that in mind, the Sultan allocates nearly all available resources toward the project to reach the targeted goal of 30,000 within the year. The population created (the additional 7,500) are moved to the settlement site and begin to establish the new city. Perhaps sending in a sizeable wave ahead of the full wave may turn out to be a blessing in disguise?

[3 AP] Resources allocated to complete the remaining 22,500 pops needed to populate the new city.

[1 AP] Only project with continued funding - the development of the space superiority fighter

[4 AP Cumulative, will continue to invest until completed. Progress would slow due to allocation toward the pop construction]

Meanwhile, the Sultan looks over a map of the solar system and the stars immediately surrounding his own. With help from advisors and advanced telescopes, the High Court of the Sultan begins charting probable hotbeds for resources throughout the solar system. With this information, the Kingdom would hopefully be able to one day actually send probes to these planets to test their hypothesis.

Eadni Year 06 - The Planet Eadn
    ----

Now that the great factories were up and running, the full production machine of the Holy Kingdom would be put into effect. Critical materials for construction and industry were produced in these factories at an astounding rate and the energy required to run these plants was entirely powered by the Eadni sun and wind; or as the Court of Eadn enjoyed saying operated by Allah. With the employment of the simpletons, quality of life in these plants was fairly awful, but the trade off was incredible efficiency as employees could be replaced rather simply.

With the new surplus in construction goods and hardware, the Holy Kingdom of Eadn (with the alien they detected in the back of their mind) decided to quietly put into place a plan to develop a 'space superiority' fighter using ballistic technologies as weapons platforms. It would be powered by a fusion reactor and would deploy from the surface of Eadn straight into space. This would take a few years to carry out.

With the announcement of the establishment of a second settlement, the Holy Kingdom of Eadn has begun an initiative to produce 30,000 new members of society over the next two years at a rate of 15,000 per  year. This would consist of about 10,000 grunts for services, 12,000 middle class
'regs,' and 8,000 upper class citizens. This would form the population of Aljadid Dubai.

Eadni Year 05 - Eadn City
    ------------

Work on the projects from the previous year continue, both of which were expected to take a fairly decent amount of time. Given the resources on the planet, ideas are drafted in regards to mining other planets in the solar system - however they do not go into action as other plans must be carried out before such things can occur.

[2 AP] The completion of the giga-factory installations as well as the production of grunt workers for those camps.

[2AP] The continued work of retrofitting the ark into a mobile space defense platform.

In the Great Palace in Eadn City, the 4th prayer of the day ends and all members of the High Court are assembled in a meeting room overlooking the beautiful settlement of Eadn City. The Eadni people have done well for the last five years; establishing sprawling farms and greenhouses, building great towers, and producing great art and religious pieces.

King Khalifa Saud-Al Nahyan chose to make a speech to his people - one that would reinforce the principles of their new society.

"Sons and daughters of Allah, I come before you today to reflect on the first five years in our new home. The growth of Eadn City is unprecedented and the prosperity in our great city is unlike anything else previously observed in human history. Everybody prospers, nobody despairs, and everybody is equal in their individual worth to society - equal in the eyes of Allah.

In the coming years, we will boost our production of all essential materials and soon our population will flourish thanks to advancements in the fields of genetic engineering and embryonic developments. In celebration of our first half decade, I would like to announce the establishment of a second city - Aljadid Dubai. It will be entirely populated by genetically created individuals."

Eadni Year 04  - Eadn City
    ------------------------------------------------

A year had passed since the first great scouting missions had begun with the probes, and in that time the Kingdom of Eadn was able to map out the entirety of their new world. After a careful amount of consideration, the most plentiful of sites would be chosen for massive "giga-factories" of massive scale. Inspired by the early 21st century work of Elon Musk, these factories would be sustained by solar panels and wind turbines on the top of the massive facilities. All available resources of the Kingdom would be devoted to the construction of these massive plants [of which there would be 20 to start] to be built over the next several years. These factories would be staffed with the first 'hatched' caste and consist of roughly 2,000 workers who worked alongside countless machines on the assembly line.

[3 AP -- The Construction of Giga-factories and their staffing w/ Lower Caste 'Grunts']

Meanwhile in the Palace of King Khalifa, the General Staff is made aware of the signatures being received from outer-space. Rather than make contact, the ruling elites decide to keep this information a secret - for now. Quietly, an increase in funds for defense spending begins; specifically research into space-based defense platforms. The most viable option for now seems to be to turn the ark, still in orbit collecting dusk as a colossal husk, into a working space station with turrets capable of defending the planet. Such research would take awhile and would need to be carried out quietly.

Eadni Year 03  - Eadn City
    ----

Following three years of heavy construction and careful social planning, the initial settlement of Eadn, now named Eadn City, was complete and ready for habitation. The people on board the Great Ark were unloaded carefully and each of the 60,000 were awarded a new home.  Save for the ruling house, every citizen of Eadn was awarded their own home with space to grow and move about; such was the benefit of being the first generation on an entirely uninhabited planet.

[The planet Eadn; home of the Holy Kingdom of Eadn and the descendants of Arabia]

Unique to the Kingdom though was their situation. Sexual intercourse for reproduction was forbidden, including in the ruling class. With this new start for the people of Eadn would come a new standard of human existence. All humans on the planet would now be engineered in a lab from embryo stage so as to be bred for their tasks. There would be three castes, a lower caste for grunt work, a middle-tier class (the closest to what may be considered normal human beings by 21st century Earth standards), and then an upper caste of handsome, tall, carefully bred human beings with slightly enhanced intelligence (Their minds are connected to a primitive sort of VI, allowing them access to all of the knowledge preserved by Eadn. It does not necessarily enhance their actual intelligence though, just gives them access to it). These Upper Caste humans would be bred solely for government jobs and other high-skill work (scientists, engineers, priests). Islamic doctrine was also largely manipulated and edited to fit this sort of genetic interference. Such things would take place over a course of a generation or so, with all original Earthlings remaining the same, though they do have the option to get a cybernetic implant. (1 AP)

With the completion of Eadn City, the Holy Kingdom finally has the resources available to properly explore Eadn. Dozens of massive drones are deployed in the air while various others are deployed on the land and sea. Over the course of 2 years, they hope to have properly mapped all regions of Eadn and found anything worth note (3 AP).

The Great Ark which transported the Holy Kingdom remains in orbit of the planet with discussions ensuing about what to do with it. Most believe it useless to study the jump drive that brought them there as it was damaged irreparably and it's origins were already mysterious. More discussion would need to be had about exploring the rest of their new solar system, but for now the King and his court were satisfied with their lone city on their lone planet, Eadn.

    RP (Humans only, I apologize.)

    Colony Name: Eadn [Eden]

First Planet Type: Small2 continents, 60% water

History: (Assuming it's a bit of a custom nation.)
In the year 2077, the House of Saud and House of Al Nahyan married combining the nations of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Not soon after that, the Royal House of Jordan agreed to form a Union with the new Islamic Kingdom. Under this new kingdom, capitalism was encouraged as beautiful cities sprung up throughout the desert. Cities like Dubai and Jeddah inspired mankind as buildings reached toward new heights with the first mile-high building being completed in Dubai in 2081. Upon hearing of the oncoming disaster, the Saud-Al Nahyan house, underneath Sultan Khalifa Saud-Al Nahyan, commissioned it's greatest engineers and scientists to build the ultimate ark - a paradise to survive in space. The problem with such a design... the Saud-Al Nahyan ark carried only 60,000 instead of the typical 100,000~, the global average. The selection process for this ship was rather simple: Wealth and intelligence determined admission to the spacecraft. 5 years prior to the launch of the arks off the planet, the government issued a test in all schools which measured IQ and practical skills - especially knowledge of engineering, agriculture, and the Islamic faith.

This test provided for the first 18,000 passengers on the ship. Those who scored the best would get on board, and these students could not be older than 21. After that, the remaining 42,000 were selected based upon profession. A large number of engineers were selected, several chemists and biologists were selected (including a large campaign to bring Islamic scientists and engineers who did not live in the Saud-Al Nahyan Arabic state to join them on the journey through money incentives and the promise of the best technology money could by). Aside from that, all young members of the Royal Houses were placed on board the ship. Interestingly, the Kingdom also invested a heavy amount of money in acquiring physical copies of many histories from all parts of the world, as well as artifacts to put on the ship. There was great debate as to the removal of the Kaaba from Mecca and placement onto the ship with the debate raging well into the final year prior to exodus. Ultimately, it was decided that Allah meant for the Kaaba to be on Earth and removing it would be disrespectful. Those who remained on Earth would be able to be close to the Kaaba and pray to Mecca, rather to the stars, in their final days.

  7. Controversial, but necessary. The Blah's become more of a hinderance than anything else unfortunately, as players have chosen to take it to new extremes by essentially using it as an excuse to spell everything completely wrong and butcher grammar. What began in Aegis under Mogroka as "Ug how are lat?" quickly became "Ug, 'ow amz lat?" A once simple and easy to understand language quickly became rather overcomplicated and muddled with made up rules and regulations that existed for nothing but our special-snowflakery. Hopefully this will water down the extremes of our system and make it a bit more user friendly.

  8. Stretched out across the mesa like a beautiful snake, lights from small fires all over the grand city of San’Torr flickered in the night as the Rex looked over his creation for the final time. His eyes heavy with regret and his heart drowned in sorrow, nothing could absolve him of the bottomless pit of guilt that shook him to his very core. For half a decade, the Rex once hailed as the savior of his race found himself locked in a fit of madness and tyranny as he purged those with whom he argued, forcing many dissenters into exile or submission. Mercy became a banned word in the House of the Rex as those whom he deemed traitors met swift ends, their heads promptly stuck upon the walls of the palace; walls now stained with thick coats of dried blood.

Engraved in his mind, the faces of the dissenters whom he eliminated now remained burned into the mind of the Rex. Even his dreams could not escape their haunting visages as his mind tortured him with flashes of those insidious fits of tyranny: the burning of Jukha’lur, the slaughter of the Raguks, the trampling and beheading of Lukra’Braduk. Soon after regaining his sanity, the Rex found that he wished to return to his state of madness for atleast then he could find some comfort in these deaths for with a clear mind the Rex only found regret and shame. Inescapable and without end, his ancestors willed that the sins of the Rex would remain with him until his final breath- something the Rex wished to expedite.

The Rex’s abdomen raised and lowered itself slowly as he took heavy, long breaths as he recalled his terrors. He found himself kneeling before his creation, the haven of which he was the architect; a home for the Orcs whom he once ruled with nothing but love and compassion now appeared before him as a relic of his tyranny. Incapable of looking upon that once incredible work of his, the Rex turned on his hands and knees away from the city, the last flickers of light fading behind him as he looked out into the vast darkness that enveloped the lands beyond the Mesa.

For a few hours, the Rex retraced his final steps of sanity and found himself standing before the mouth of an enormous cavern. Orcish carcasses, long scavenged by those creatures so desperate for what little sustenance one could find in the mesa, littered either side of the entrance. His eyes once again grew heavy as he knelt before the cavern, his body shaking from the tremendous weight of his guilt. Before him stood the place of his death. Nearly five years ago, his crumpled body laid before this cavern and the Rex of the Orcs died, replaced by a tyrant.

Now the Tyrant would meet the same fate. The Rex pushed himself up once more and relieved himself of all possessions there before the cave, leaving his armor and the relics of his clan to be lost there in the sand. The Rex entered the cave slowly, his eyes locking with that fiery beast that had killed him so long ago. He opened his arms to the beast as though he were greeting an old friend, finding absolution in the embrace of the flames that soon engulfed his body.

Shout out to the Orcs for a good run. This is Drokon’s PK. I don’t see myself making another Orc for the foreseeable future, so good luck in your endeavours. I leave you with one simple request: Please do not let what I worked for go to waste. Stay active, stay driven, and keep working toward growth. 6x represents a far more dedicated and driven version of myself, and I believe that he will best uphold the policies which I’ve put into place. Respect his decisions and know that he works with the genuine interests of the Orcs in mind. Thanks again for the fun!

    ORGOTH BRADUK

  10. Guilt overwhelmed the mind of the young Rex, the darkness that clouded his mind causing him to do so many horrible things to so many who adored and revered the Rex prior to his reign of terror. In a show of shame, the Rex has made the decision to finally nominate a successor to his Rexdom. The Rex does not take such matters lightly, and has mulled over this decision for a long time. Rather than naming the successor immediately, the Rex will name his top three candidates, the final to be announced in 2 Elven Days (Thursday, February 9th).

    In Alphabetical Order

    Orgoth of Clan Braduk

    Gurak of Clan Yar

Gorgosh (Formerly Umrah) of Clan Gorkil

The Rex also announces that, after his Rexdom, the Ugluk clan will finally merge with the Gorkil clan and all carrying the name Ugluk will now become Gorkils.

    PREFACE
In the year 1596, I, REX Drokon’Ugluk, seek to write out a simple guide for those who will soon follow in my footsteps in Orcish leadership. One should take what I write down into consideration upon ascending to the Rexdom after my inevitable death. Recent events have only confirmed that this book is necessary, for my legacy will not stand should I not put my thoughts to paper. The War Nation must be preserved at all costs, and the War Nation that must be preserved is the one that I have sculpted into my image.

    ON DISSENTERS

As Krug’s enforcer in the mortal realm, the will of the REX is one and the same with that of the will of Krug and any actions taken, logically, are done in order to preserve Krug’s realm - Krugmar. Disobeying the righteous cause of the REX puts one at odds with not just the REX, but the entirety of the War Nation. Infallible in every aspect of life, the REX’s commands need not be questioned for his decisions always place the War Nation first. Any who seek to defy the REX must meet swift ends. This is a simple fact of life. One need only look at several of my own tactics and their effectiveness. The slaughter of Turkurs’Raguk, Aukha’Raguk, and the burning of Jukha’Lur only further solidified the loyalty of those around me. Consequences for noncompliance need to be enforced, and often the best way to enforce these consequences is publicly for then those with thoughts of dissent may quickly understand why such thoughts should immediately be expelled from their mind.

    ON LEGITIMACY
In order to earn the right to ascend to throne of Krugmar, one must possess a significant amount of prestige and honor, however maintaining such while on the throne is a task entirely separate. When I first ascended, challenges to my rule came early and often which required swift action in order to put down. Challenges to legitimacy require decisive and rapid responses for once the legitimacy of the REX comes into question, new challengers and claimants emerge almost out of thin air. The REX should deploy any means of elimination necessary in order to quell such threats, as they can soon spiral out of control into full-on rebellion. One need only look back to our histories to find several cases of Rexes who failed to deal with threats to their legitimacy. In the year 1396, Shar’ku of Clan Gorkil faced open rebellion at the hands of an Ugluk/Lur/Braduk faction led by my own grandfather, Pok’Ugluk. Why did he face such challenges though? His legitimacy and honor as REX came into question following his questionable alliances with the Dwarves, then a long-time rival of the Orcish peoples. By failing to effectively deal with dissenting voices on such an issue, the REX Shar’ku soon found his realm engulfed in Civil War, one that ended swiftly and with his own head on a spike. To those of you who follow in my footsteps, understand this: One’s legitimacy is the most important aspect of one’s rulership, do not allow it to be questioned.

    ON ADVISORS

The REX should surround himself with only the best and brightest of Orcs in the War Nation so that he may receive the wisest council on matters of state. However, when choosing his advisors, he should ensure that these men possess extreme and undying loyalty to his cause. Any hint of dissent should result in expulsion from advisory, and more importantly, extermination. Refusal Though the advisors of the REX should sometimes challenge the REX’s decision making, keep notice of those who would excessively criticize or take issue with your policies. Those who do not clap when you achieve greatness are your greatest threat, so deal with them swiftly. The most important advisor the REX will need to choose is his Targoth - the leader of the Orcish Krughai and highest commander. Ensure that he who leads the Krughai is your closest confidant for the Targoth is the most powerful Orc save for the REX himself and his ability in combat will certainly earn him loyalty of his own. For this reason, keep your Targoth close to you and do not let him stray. Any hint of dissent and one must immediately dispel him and the officers whom he appointed. Keep your Keshig strong and capable, for in the case of organized rebellion one must be able to quickly stomp them out. Once again, one need only look at my reign for an example: The Keshig has grown significantly since the defeat of Oren as I’ve consolidated my power, and I’ve also installed an incredibly competent and loyal commander in the form of Gurak’Yar who will not question orders and serve the REX until his death. All commanders and advisors should be like Gurak, undying in their loyalty. If they are not, they need to be expelled and put down.

    ON CLANS

The bane of the Orcish race since late Asulon, clans have done nothing except divide the sons of Krug. Clans exist only to create factions; factions that when mobilized pose the greatest threat to the existence of a unified Krugmar. As a servant of Krug and the heart of Krugmar, the REX must do everything in his power to keep the clans weak and uncoordinated for should they grow powerful enough, they will most certainly rise up and threaten the peace of Krugmar. If keeping the clans down proves impossible, then simply ensure that your own clan, the REX’s Clan, is the most powerful for then you will not need to worry about the others strength. In an ideal War Nation, such as the one in which I rule, you will find that Orcs almost entirely disregard their heritage in favor of servitude to the only true clan, that of clan Krug. They understand that servitude to only their Wargoth advances nothing save for the agendas of one subset of Orcs who along are weak and incapable. Orcs in the current age understand that in order to maintain power that they must serve one banner - the banner of the REX.

    ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS

Traditionally, the position of the War Nation in the realms outside of its own has been one of relative isolation. Only when directly threatened or offended should the War Nation move outside of it’s own borders in a unified manner. My reign has been a particularly unique one in that I have chosen to involve the War Nation rather extensively in the affairs of other nations however I did so out of desperation early in my reign. That desperation stemmed from the existence of an overwhelming force [The Holy Orenian Empire], and the need for its immediate extermination. Now that the Empire is gone however, the Orcs once again find themselves at a cross-roads; Do we involved ourselves in the affairs of other nations or not? For now, I have chosen to continue our involvement and will continue to do so until I see such actions as disadvantageous to us. To my successors, foreign affairs should be approached with extreme caution and handled in a manner that only benefits the War Nation. Any war, treaty, or alliance involving the War Nation should only benefit the War Nation.

Thus concludes Volume I of Leviathan, an Essay on the Orcish Rexdom. Copies of the book are only found in the private library of the Rex.

  12. Lost in meditation following the events that had transpired in his palace, the Rex's mind could not help but drift toward the thought of Turkurz. The Raguk Wargoth deserved respect and honor, yet he failed to comply to the Rex's orders, and for that reason Drokon felt justfied in his act.

    Still....

A wave of emotion crashed over the Rex. He had murdered one of his own, a Keshig and a Wargoth. What had become of him? The Rex that once ruled with compassion and empathy no longer existed, only a husk remained. Drokon felt himself detach from the emotion, whatever inkling of positive memories he had of Turkurz fleeing from his mind. Only hate remained.

Suddenly, the death of Turkurz felt justified.

Reason for Volunteering: Ever since I joined (A little over half a year ago) I've noticed that there has been a distinct lack of orcs - back in San'Thraka, I would see a maximum of maybe 3 or 4 orcs running around, not RPing unless there was an event of some sort. I hope to change that, so there'll be at  least a few orcs on that new players can RP with at any one time

  14. In order to address a continued problem regarding New Player Retention, I have decided to form a team dedicated to ensuring that new players find homes and RP inside of the War Nation. That includes events, custom items, and also getting them involved in leadership opportunities if that is something which they wish to explore. The system will work as follows:

    KRUG'S CUBS
Mission Statement: Krug's Cubs will provide quality RP for new Orcs and actively seek out new players who wish  to become a part of our incredibly dedicated community. Becoming an Orc and integrating with such a well-established community can be intimidating, and Krug's Cubs will make this process easier for those involved.

Members of the organization will provide events and mentor new Orcish players with those who volunteer being assigned to them immediately upon their acceptance to the server. They are expected to be able to be extremely active and provide an extensive and intricate amount of RP to new players in order to help acclimate and immerse them in RP. Please do not apply if you do not have a lot of time and the ability to communicate well with new, sometimes young, applicants. Members are also encouraged to scan the Applications in order to find Orc applicants, and do what they can to help them in applying. In order to become part of the organization, please apply below.

Asking for help does not harm reputation; we are not Orcs IRL. Whilst it is true we have experienced a boom in players recently I have seen the activity and MANY of the new Orcs have already quit playing. Something is clearly wrong and we need answers.

Thanks for your opinions, very nicely put and insightful. I agree with everything you have listed essentially. This nation is semi-run OOC as are many other races, but there is nothing that can be done to remedy that. OOC feelings will ALWAYS be mixed in with IC feelings, there is no solution to it and never will be; no one human can completley turn off their emotions when making decisions in a seperate persona or online alias. It is also the reason Admins and Mods have a hard time making decisions and doing a good job.

In response to "this does nothing but sate a curious mind", that is true but there is no harm in trying. I will try and try until something changes, as there is no point in simply wallowing in pity and giving up.

When I say harm our reputation, I mean that it makes us look as though we're desperate like we were in the past for players. We're not nearly as desperate or starving as before, and I believe we are very capable.

As for running a nation OOCly, a nation has to be at least in-part be run OOCly. Organizing and managing events is an OOC activity, constructing new cities are an OOC activity. Vetting leadership, for the most part, is honestly an OOC activity. You can't bring in people to lead who aren't competent, and one needs to be a competent leader OOCly in order to be successful on this server.

And yes, I have noticed some of the new Orcs up and quitting as well, and I believe that has something to do with a lack of organization both on my end and a general disinterest in the server as a whole. I had an opportunity to talk to a new player who after a few days said "It's not the Orcs, it's just that the server is pretty boring." Said player is now gone. We need to do more for player retention, and I have ideas about that, but it's hard for me personally to do anything about it as I have a lot more responsibilities than that to deal with.

I think orcs have never had as much players as say humans or elves because they're objectively the least approachable race for new players. That's not a dig, I think its just factual, orcs are the bloodthirsty beast-like brutes (that may not be true, but tell me a new player who has just read the wiki and is going off his preconceived assumptions of orcs from other mediums like LOTR or D&D won't think that), whereas humans are better at being anything.

I agree pretty much completely with that and it's definitely the reason we don't bring in as many players, and despite my best efforts never will have a population truly equal to the humans. That's not necessarily my goal though, my goal is to have a fairly dedicated and active group which I believe in the past month or so we've managed to do.

  16. While I agree that the Orcs were not going in the right direction for awhile, I believe that we are experiencing a resurgence in players and the RP centered around the Goi right now has not been better than it is right now. I know you're relatively new, so it's hard to see just how far we've come for you. You must understand that prior to my Rexdom, Orcish activity consisted of 2-3 players online at a time, we were lucky to have 5. Now we're capable of rallying 10-15 for most impromptu events and I've never been MORE confident in the RPers that we do have. I'd appreciate anything you'd like to do to help, however a thread like this does not do much other than to harm our reputation and status.

Drokon stands above the frozen lands of San’Torr, calling out to the orcs and all those who sought to listen to his word.

“Krug’s blood shall not run cold! We will restore our lands to their former glory, so bring forth all sons and daughters of the War Nation for together we shall feast!”

    FESTIVAL OF BALMADH [Fire]
A festival dedicated to Skathnatch, The Greater Elemental Spirit of Fire, in hopes that it will warm the Uzg, and banish the sullen snow that has frozen the Orcish Lands. All are welcome to such, regardless of race or kin for drinking, celebration, and dancing before the great flame.

  18. A BULLETIN FROM THE REX - Elven Week VI

    Week of 1/23/17

    The Rex’s Message

Brothers and sisters, we’ve finally succeeded in defeating the monster that set out to purge the realm of our existence. No longer does the shadow loom large over our homeland, and no longer do we need to cower in the Mesa for fear of an overwhelming force marching upon our lands. Once again, the Orcs of Krugmar are free from the boot of imperialism and can find a new sense of self-determination. I am proud to be your Rex during such incredible times, and I intend to fully take advantage of such a unique opportunity.

    [OOC] Make an Orc Week!
If you ever wanted to make an Orc, or just wanted to experience what it’s like to be part of Orcish roleplay, then feel free to visit San’Torr anytime during the week and into the weekend as DivineJustice, along with a team of others, are hosting and organizing several events that showcase Orcish roleplay. Along with that, skins are being provided for free. We hope you’ll take a chance on us and come see what Orcish roleplay is all about!

    The Festival of Fire
In exactly one Elven Day, the Orcs will be hosting a grand festival which all races may attend and witness. It will be a grand spectacle and showcase of the greatness of Orcish society, as well as another sign of the great Orcish rebirth currently happening in the Mesa. Make plans to attend.

    San’Torr Expansion!
The Rex along with the Yazgurtan has decided that San’Torr requires several new homes in order to accommodate the growing number of Orcs living in the city. As such, the Rex has hired Mitz and Fitz of Clan Lak to once again design and build the new homes. Any Orc waiting for a home will be temporarily lodged in the Krughai Citadel and receive ample room for storage as well as a bed to sleep on. Thank you for your patience.

    Activity Checks!
Since there is an increasing demand for houses in San’Torr, the Rex and Yazgurtan have made the decision to implement activity checks on every house in San’Torr. Signs will be placed on every home, and one need only show their activity by breaking said sign and sending a message to the Rex! Please be sure to show you are active, otherwise you risk losing your home as well as the items in it.

    Join the Keshig!
The Keshig, under the leadership of Gurak’Yar, has grown significantly in the past couple of months. The Rex encourages Orcs strong enough to join to do so, as the applications will close soon [once a quota of 12 active Keshig is hit].

    Join the Krughai!
If one wishes to hone their skills first before attempting to join the Keshig, then they should look to speak with Zlazh’lur or Mitz’n’Fitz Lak. The Krughai is always recruiting, and those looking for steady payment ought to apply.

The San’Torr arena bustled with activity as Orcs came together around mid-day to settle some neighborhood conflicts inside of the arena. The Uruks shouted back and forth at one another, talking trash and working themselves into a sort of combative fervor. Just before the first klomps¹ would begin, the ground began to tremble beneath the arena. At first it appeared to be a small earthquake, nothing unfamiliar to the Orcs living in the Mesa, however soon the ground shook violently as entire parts of the ground ripped open with an incredible crashing sound ringing out from the north, beyond the arena.

The Rex², Drokon’Ugluk, climbed up to the top of the arena and observed a massive cloud of dust raising itself over the mountaintops to the North. With a whistle, the klomps in the arena came to a halt and soon the Orcs, as well as a few honoraries and visitors from foreign lands, joined the Rex on a sort of expedition to find out why so much dust was thrown up in the North. Roughly 15 Orcs followed the Rex most of whom were very lightly armed and did not appear ready for any sort of confrontation. Little known to those Orcs marching North, they would meet a daunting task once they found the source of the rubble.

After a few hours of marching and hiking over steep rock faces, the Orcs found themselves looking at the mouth of a massive cave. One of the younger Orcs, Prauta, noted that there was extensive surveying done prior to the construction of the new capital and this cave was not here, at least not before the capital was built. Curiosity washed over the group and soon, the Orcs found themselves all descending into the cavern which appeared to be a sort of massive underground glacier, the last remnants of an ice shelf that once covered most of Tahn. As the Orcs descended into the cavern one of the younger honoraries, a directly adopted child of the Rex, Teal’Ugluk, let out a shout and pointed wildly at one of the massive structures of ice. The Orcs began to gather around, and each attempted to hold back their disbelief. Inside of the ice structure, the outline of an Orc could be seen!

Immediately, the Orcs set to work to free their frozen brother. With some quick thinking from the young goblin Xem Feetsie, the Orcs decided to all light torches and hold them over the top of the strucutre untl it melted. This was more favorable than going after the ice with a pickaxe for the Rex as well as his Keshig³ feared that doing so would harm the ancient Orc. Once the ice melted, the ancient Orc, contrary to what most assembled believed would happen, woke up. Frozen in time, the Orc began to speak in the tongue of the first Orcs, Black Speech. Luckily, the Orcs brought with them their High Shaman, Malog Yar who could speak the tongue and communicate with the Ancient Orc. After some discussion, the Orc revealed that he was from the year 900 and was a native of Axios. This Orc acted as proof that there were Axionite Orcs⁴, the first inhabitants of the Mesa and Deserts of Tahn. What wiped them out is unknown, but now that this ancient Orc has been discovered, many of their secrets could be answered.

As the Orcs made their way out of the cave, monsters appeared from nowhere as the ancient Orc began to shriek. Whatever darkness was afoot swarmed the cavern, nearly overwhelming the Orcs and wounding most of those assembled, especially the less experienced in combat. As the ancient Orc’s shrieks died down, so too did the amount of monsters until finally they disappeared. What followed was another massive earthquake that brought about the beginning of the collapse of the cave, so the Orcs began to quickly make their way out. In order to escape the cave though, the mouth of which had collapsed, the ancient Orc made his way to the front of the group and utilized ancient Elementalism, a sub-branch of Shamanism, and manipulated the stones and ice to make way for the Orcs to escape. Low on energy, the Orc quickly collapsed and was nearly left for dead by the Orcs. Not until Rex Drokon’Ugluk hoisted the Orc up from the ground and carried him out, just before collapse, were all the Orcs successfully saved.

With the Orcs out of the cave and everybody safe, Drokon advised his Keshig Nob Gurak’Yar to take the Orcs back to the arena while he and Malog took the ancient Orc to the Shaman Temple of San’Torr. After another few hours of hiking, the Orcs returned to San’Torr while Drokon and Malog continued to the Shaman Temple. Once there, Drokon carefully set down the Ancient Orc by a fire, offering some blankets and cushions to him. When the Orc was comfortable, Drokon took his leave and commanded the High Shaman, Malog’Yar, to find out what he could about the Elder.
