  1. In order to ensure fairness in the selection of homes in the new city, a sort of housing auction will be conducted. Homes may be paid for in two ways - mina or ingots. Starting price of homes are based upon size. The family sized homes must be occupied by a family or group of at least three[3] Orcs in order to ensure compact housing.

To Request a home, please fill out the following form. If you’re the only one to apply for a house, you will get it at the base price.

  2. Drokon silently peered out from the balcony of his new palace, carefully observing the finishing of the the new city, San’Torr. He pondered all of the effort which the Orcs put into the city and the blood still being spilled in order to protect it. For the first time in nearly a full Orcish generation, the descendants of Krug would have a place to call home. As he thought about the brutal history of the most recent generation, his thoughts couldn’t help but drift to his last memories of the old city, San’Kharak.

The beautiful city of stone and wood was meant to be a safe haven for the Orcs of the old War Uzg and for a time, the streets bustled with incredible activity. At some point though, divisiveness seeped into Orcish society and sowed the seeds of failure as brother turned against brother and sister against sister. What remained was a civilization on the brink of collapse, waiting for a catalyst to set that in motion. The Imperial legions of Man presented that catalyst as they cast their dark, warmongering gaze upon the lands of Azul.

The Orcs could never have hoped to stand up to the might of the Orenian Empire, and so the sons of Horen ushered in a collapse rivaled in scale only to that of the Kharajyr. This collapse paved the way for the Orc’s splintering as those who hoped to reshape the Orcs in their own image, namely the Shamans of Angathûl and the Tribes of Azaghol. Not until the False Rex attempted to seize the throne of the old War Uzg and abandon the Dwarves in their war effort did the sons of Krug awaken, finally deciding it was time to unite. As the first Rex of the new War Nation of Krugmar, Drokon swore to himself that he would unify the sons of Krug by any means necessary.

A DECLARATION FROM THE REX OF KRUGMAR

    Rex Drokon’Ugluk, 7th of Sun’s Smile, 1592

    I. All Orcs currently living in the War Nation are encouraged to facilitate the growth of the Orcish species through procreation as well as recruitment of Orcs who for some reason have lost their way and found themselves outside of the War Nation because of the collapse of San’Kharak.

II. Those Orcs who, for whatever reason, opted not to remain with their brothers in Azaghol or live with the Shamans, are required to return to the War Nation. Because of the collapse, what may normally be considered a whitewash will be pardoned should they willingly return. Those who do not willingly return will be hunted with the full might of the new War Nation.

III. The Shamans of Angathûl will return the War Nation and reside within the newly constructed Shaman district in San’Torr. Should they refuse, they will be hunted and exterminated with the full might of the War Nation behind the cause.

IV. With the establishment of the new city, all races will be welcomed into the new city without tax for a time. Those not of Orcish heritage who wish to embrace our cultures and traditions will be welcomed, and not given trouble. This includes visitors who merely wish to shop at our markets or visit the arena. They will be granted safe passage. Should word of any extortion or crimes against these people reach the Khesig or Rex directly, the perpetrator will be punished severely.

  3. A BULLETIN FROM THE REX - Elven Week II

    The Rex’s Message
After a week of Krugzmas tidings, the War Nation of Krugmar stands tall and remains bold in the face of its enemies. We will not falter until the fight is won, and we shall not abandon our Dwarven allies. The Orcish population has continued to see growth over the past week as well and the Krughai’s ranks grow. Glory to Krug.

    A New Seat of Power
Construction on the new city, San’Torr, continues with each passing day. Vaktismo’Azog (Galendar_Aveere) works incredibly hard along with a platoon of other builders, namely Malog’Yar, Lukra’Braduk, and several other aides, both Orcish and non-Orcish. The new city will be a magnificent capital fit for the new War Nation of Krugmar.

    The Work of the Yazgurtan
The Yazgurtan recently launched a program that pairs Orcs together in order to more efficiently do work within the city. Find your pairing HERE.

    Communication [OOC]
The Orcs have just started a new platform of communication, Discord. If you want to participate in this platform, and I highly suggest you do, then contact him on THIS post.

[Lil brief because of the Holidays and I haven’t been around much. The city should be done in the coming days and that will get it’s own video/post dedicated to it. Welcome all new Orcs who joined this week! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!]

  4. That settlement doesn't belong to the War Nation nor do we know much about it other than an Orc not affiliated with the Nation runs it. If somebody would've ran it by me, the Orc Nation leader, before you posted it,  you probably could've avoided that little embarrassment.

  5. After a period of transition with considerable numbers of appointments and conflict, the Rex prepares to make his first major declaration after ascending to the throne of the new Krugmar. With a few goblins in his company, the Rex sets out to draft the declaration which the goblins must distribute among the rest of the Orcs.

    -----------------------------------

    A BULLETIN FROM THE REX

    - Elven Week I -

    The Rex’s Message
Orcs of Krugmar, thank you for your unwavering support throughout the past couple of months, making my transition into power incredibly seamless. Without the help of you, Orc of Krugmar, we cannot hope to make the War Nation powerful once more.

    TPCW3TOB15OLZcqQJkMkzMPnNhlLNFUzaY2VHugpcFyPs-2RScNB5t_UvPNjdknUqxGV1cO_7sgED8yh7aTtF8NaoaqhmcsxsuZ9tSpB2q3xlAlWk1fUWcgO2Lm68bgpKsFYDUV9

    A New Seat of Power
Following serious discussion among the Orcish leadership, Krug wills that the Orcs move out of the desert and undertake the challenge of a far more difficult environment - the great Eastern Mesa of Tahn. Here, the Orcs will thrive under the new seat of power, San’Torr, named for the many great mounds and hills that surround the valley in which the city will thrive. As a result of this new effort, I personally ask each and every Orc to do their part in contributing. Help tear down the current fortifications in the desert, gather supplies for construction, and do what those who I’ve appointed to construct the new city need in order to make their efforts easier [looking for some building support].

    A Merry Krugsmas
With the changing of the seasons, we once again celebrate Krugsmas. In an effort to promote unity in the new War Nation, I will be opening my new palace upon completion to a grand Krugsmas celebration. This will include a feast, some klomps, and the Krugsmas tree lighting ceremony. Following this celebration, the seeds of the Krugsmas tree will be sent to the Shamans in order to imbue them with the strength to become the next World Cactus. More details will follow in the coming weeks [expect a separate post].

    The Efforts of The Advisors
I must bring attention to the plans currently being implemented by my two advisors, Targoth Slazh’Yar and Yazgurtan Vagud’Gorkil. The two Orcs have done a tremendous job in supporting Krugmar with the Targoth helming several successful raids into the warzone and beyond as well as re-launching the Krughai (if you haven’t signed up, please do so HERE). The Yazgurtan currently hopes to release a new system of work which should be made public in the coming hours (will be linked HERE when posted).

  6. The Rex receives notice of messages distributed among his Wargoths. With a question gaze upon the goblin who offered this news, he snaps the bulletin up into his own massive palm. The Ork squints aas he reads, nodding slowly. If a Shaman wanted to support Krugmar, then that shaman would get his support - granted he answered to the Rex first and foremost. With that in mind, the Rex sends out a notice to this Stranger, a notice of audience.

  7. THE WAR NATION OF KRUGMAR
Established following the deposition of the false Rex, Kulgarok’Lak, the War Nation of Krugmar rose from the ashes of a failed confederation of the Orcish peoples. The decision to once again unify beneath the banners of Krug did not come as a difficult one to make for much of the Orcish leadership as they understood that together the Orcs could be unconquerable. After defeating the false Rex in open combat before several of his brethren, Drokon’Ugluk legitimately ascended to the throne of Rex.

    The Rex and His Advisors
    Rex: Drokon’Ugluk
The leader and figurehead of the War Nation of Krugmar, the Rex rules with the authority of Krug

himself, acting as his enforcer in the current era. He will ensure that the laws of the War Nation are upheld while holding absolute control over its internal affairs. In most diplomatic proceedings, the Rex will represent the War Nation when conducting missions concerning foreign policy. Without a Rex, there is no Krugmar.

    Targoth: Slazh’Yar
The supreme leader of the Krughai, the Targoth controls all things war and strategy of Krugmar. He is responsible for managing the logistics of the military, including planning out war games and training sessions. In his absence, he will appoint a Bigboss to handle military activities. He is also responsible for ensuring soldiers of the Krughai are well cared for and promoting them when deemed fit. A Shaman may not be appointed to the position of Targoth.

    Yazgurtan: Vagud’Gorkil
The workhorse of Krugmar, the Yazgurtan oversees Krugmar’s workforce and ensures that the coffers are full, the armory is stocked, and provisions are at a surplus. Essentially, the Yazgurtan is the chief of Krugmar’s logistics.  His/her main task will be to assign Orcs working roles based off what best suits them and ensure that they are providing for Krugmar. This includes providing payment if necessary. A Shaman may be appointed Yazgurtan should the Rex see it fit.

The Laws of the War Nation
The laws of Krugmar are meant to exemplify the two pillars of Orcish society discussed earlier - Strength & Honor. If one has honor, then they must have the strength to defend their honor when their honor has been infringed upon, as most of our laws will reflect.

    - If one believes an Orc is acting dishonorably in some form, be it through their relationship with an outsider or treatment of their fellow Orc, then one may challenge said Orc to an honor klomp to determine who is ‘right’ on said issue.

    - Thievery from fellow Orcs is forbidden. Such offenses are met with punishment in the form of an arena challenge. The result of the fight determines the severity of the punishment.

    - Killing another Orc is strictly forbidden unless in a consensual klomp to the death. Executing another Orc will be met with equal deadly force.

    - Outsiders may not be harmed upon first contact. They will first be questioned as to their intent for coming to Krugmar, then asked to give tribute in some form. The preferable form is 25 mina, however food or weapons will suffice.

Succession & The Appointment of Leadership
    The Rex’s Succession
Upon the death of a Rex or his stepping down from the throne of Krug, his appointed advisors
will come together to select a new Rex. The Yazgurtan and Targoth must come to a consensus on who will become Rex and if they cannot, they will consult the Shamans of the Angathûl to find who the ancestors favor.

    Appointment of Advisors
The Targoth and Yazgurtan will be appointed directly by the Rex and should they step down or die in office, the Rex will appoint their replacements. Their duties are to the Rex first and will follow his order without question. Should one of the advisors disagree with his policies, that advisor may challenge the Rex to a klomp to keep that policy from being enacted.

  8. Drokon tilted his head as he looked at the cauldron, the strange brew capturing his curiosity. Without breaking his gaze upon the cauldron, the Ugluk stood from his seat and approached the cauldron, grabbing a heavy nearby clay mug. He bent over the cauldron, carefully running the mouth of his mug along the top of the brew. After adequately filling the cup, he turned and sat back down while grasping the mug with both hands waiting anxiously to take a swig.

  9. Drokon makes his way to the co-ordinates, unsure exactly what the Orc meant of "alleviating his bloodlust." Upon arrival, he would find a seat close to Gijaak, nodding to other assembled Orcs. His eyes drift to the cauldron in the center of the room and then back to Gijaak, "Bruddah, what am that?"

  10. Drokon shook his head as a few Orcs began to vote for Rex and whatnot. He raised his palm until there was silence, ensuring that he respected his brethren.

"Nub move so fast to pick a leader before we have a true system of government in place, bruddahs. We cannot pick somebody to lead something that does not exist. Cease with this talk, for now, and let us focus on devising a plan to strength the core of our race."

  11. Drokon nodded at the various commments made by the Orcish leadership, keeping his silence respectfully as he listened to each one in full detail. The Ugluk nodded slowly, smiling lightly at Moreg, proud to see him representing the Ugluk clan.

"Brothers, let us focus our conversation once more. We must focus on the unification of the orcs under a single, centralized structure," he motions to Thral'mar, "As our new-old brother reminded us, our centralization makes us strong. Together we are strong, scattered we are weak."

"If we wish to re-unite, let us discuss HOW we can do so, not simply acknowledge that we must."

He looked to the assembled, listening carefully to their answers.

  12. Drokon looks around the dimly lit room at those assembled, nodding slowly to himself. Many of these Orcs, he soon realized, he hardly recognized. The one who calls himself Gijaak, he had no knowledge of prior to his dismissal. The Thral'Mar uruk appeared as though he might've been from the ages of his grandfather. Drokon greeted the two with whom he was most familiar, Malog and Shagarath, and then stood from his spot among the ruined furniture.

"Urukz, it is glorious that we have all assembled here, safely. I hope that this meeting can bring about serious change because," he looks around the room, eyeing each Orc carefully, "Krug knows we need it." He begins pacing about the room, his metallic arm hanging limply to his left, "For those of lat that do not know me, I am Drokon of the Clan Ugluk. My father was Ugkop and before him Pok. From them I have learned many things, stories of our greatness. I do not believe that greatness has yet faded from our mortal realm." He pauses once more, taking a deep breath.

"This settlement, this very room in which we stand, marks the spot from which our great decline began. I chose this meeting place for a reason for we will make it instead the place from which we rise once more. From the ashes we will rise stronger than ever, if we work with one another, that is."

Drokon stopped, now standing in the center of the room.

"As our brother of clan Lak acknowledged, the only way to rule is as one race. I did not call these meeting to choose a Rex, merely to put the idea of a unified government forth. I possess a significant amount of wealth - enough to put us back on our feet at least. What I wish to discuss with you all is the terms for re-unification, as well as our situation with the humans. Though the issue of the humans is important, I would like us to solely focus on the government. After that is decided upon, we will discuss the state of our foreign affairs."

  13. 1 minute ago, Pandan said:

I'd say quite the opposite. Players standards have significantly risen since the days of Asulon, if you were to provide such a map without any context it'd be taken more harshly than anything else.

It's all about time management and ensuring you actually keep to it. Map (Don't do the three map system again, I was told its premise was to help remove lag, however, it, unfortunately, did not work!) needs to be done as soon as possible, not even to pay something but to provide enough time to drastically improve it by hand. We started planning in December but didn't receive a tangible map since May, the next came June and the final July. Time is everything.

Edit: The community also had to be considerate towards the lack of experience of people in charge of map development. I thought I could make a great map until I started making one. If I were to do it again I'd do so much differently and have no doubt it'd be 100% better than what we have currently. But.. well, bluntly put **** that.

I disagree, I think most people would be fine with a map that looks fine and keeps nations relatively close, but with some breathing room. Asulon DID have a lot of lore within the map, but a lot of that was based upon the nations themselves, and we could do that same thing with a move back to Anthos.

What made Asulon so great, in my opinion, was that it did not have a whole lot of stuff generated by the staff outside of the Cloudlands and the surrounding area. The nations were tasked with building their environments and terrain, as well as for developing the lore of that area. For example, the Orcs based their city upon a former race of Orcs that were wiped out by giant worm monsters living within our desert. Orcs built the ruins themselves and ran events, with some staff help, themselves. This happened in most other nations as well, especially with the Elves who had the Mori and all that.

I really do believe we can make a very good map in maybe 3-4 months time, if you task the nations with doing a boatload of the work, and allowing some of the most creative people on the server (who, frankly, aren't all staff) to work their magic like they did in Asulon.

This would be even easier if we return to Anthos as we already have some pre-established lore for the map. Let the nations build the ruins of their old empires, and give them the option to either move into those ruins, or preserve them for the sake of history. I think you could save a whole lot of time by tweaking Anthos's terrain and giving the nation leaders and those beneath them the bulk of the work.

  14. Just now, 吳憾戰士14 said:

We've honestly had droves of people complaining about every map. Back in Anthos people lamented about the good old days of Aegis, and now of course we're on Axios, people are calling for a return to Anthos.

Axios has flaws. Literally every map we ever make will have flaws. But, it gets the job done, it looks decent. I agree it shouldn't be so big, but I believe that improved fast travel systems can fix that.

Otherwise, Axios as a map is a big improvement over the fringe (which was cluttered and hideous), Athera (way too crowded and small), and Vailor (too plain).

I agree that every map is gonna have problems, but this map has several glaring problems that most of the community can reach a consensus about. There will be complaining about every map we ever make, but I think those complaints about Axios are more substantial than those made about previous maps.

  15. Just now, Pandan said:

I'm just going to chisel out a few thoughts, as the main 'lead' within map development for Axios. I'll state I'm not trying to blame anymore for actions that have occurred, nor defend myself. If anything I acknowledge I made fatal flaws within the production of the map, but in essence, everyone is a genius within hindsight.

I did just write out quite an intensive story about the production of the map but realised that within reality very few care about the production process, the true subject is the finished product. I will state there were an unbelievable amount of issues present during its creation, Tahn was far too big for its own good but due to a significant lack of time, we didn't have the choice to go elsewhere. Other maps were given to us that actually in many aspects were better than Tahn, but, they were even bigger.

My main piece of advice to whoever takes the monumentally stressful and tiring process of map creation allow it to be your creative vision. Take the thoughts of the community and process that into a final product, when I created the map I had so many.. voices? Tythus had asked me to create three different maps, 501 was working on obtaining maps and the playerbase wished for a summer release. I tried to listen to them all and it mostly flopped like a sack of potatoes. My end vision was malformed until it just became something we were forced to rush out within 'playable status'. When you work on something for so long, with so much consistent failure.. It's just difficult to continue onward within a progressive manner. Try to avoid relying on too many people also (rip manpower plugin).

I suppose what I'm trying to say is don't underestimate map development. It honestly is a hellish task that isn't as simple as anyone would hope. A vision is only so much.

Then perhaps a way of fixing this problem would be to limit the development time? It feels like the time of development for each map gets longer and longer, and that ultimately leads to changes occurring that in reality don't really need to happen. For example, Asulon was developed probably in the span of about 3 months, and that was one of our largest maps. I don't think a new map needs to take a whole lot of time to create, especially if we allow more players to get involved in the development of the map rather than keeping it a very vague and obscure process.

  16. The great Orcish diaspora that soon followed the fall of San'Kharak has yet to be mended by any single Orcish leader. No Orc has taken it upon himself to unite the peoples of Orcish lineage under one banner, nor have the scattered societies that have emerged from the ashes of the Uzg come to serve as a fitting replacement. The Shamans, though not completely, have abandoned those not blessed with their gifts, and instead operate in solitude. Those who remain in the Tribe-Lands find themselves constantly at threat and living under the banner of a race Orcs once sword to be their mortal enemies. What have the Orcs become? Drokon did not know anymore, and it was because of this that he felt compelled to call a general assembly. The General Assemblies, or Wargoth's Gatherings, were most prevalent in Anthos when Rexes such as Mogroka'Gorkil, Gromgoth'Gorkil, and Pok'Ugluk sat upon the throne of the Uzg. These were meetings to discuss the future of the Orcs and decide upon the fate of the nation and her people. In general, the Orcs lacked direction.

    ----

A team of goblins would begin spreading leaflets to Orcs throughout Axios, moving throughout every island until they had found most Orcs still alive - in hiding or otherwise. The leaflet read as follows:

    "Brothers,
We must come together as a people once more. I ask that we all gather, in secret, at the ruins of San'Kharak within the former Rex's palace. There, we will discuss the future of our race. Should we fail to reach some sort of consensus as to how we wish to operate, then we will have failed our children, and the Orcish peoples from herein will be living on borrowed time, waiting for the day of extinction.
    - Elder Drokon of Clan Ugluk"

Drokon sat silently within the rickety palace, his eyes darting between the various lit torches throughout the main hall of the palace.
