The Battle of West Hills
Electric Wizard replied to Will (TauFirewarrior)'s topic in Asulon Roleplay Archive
Alexander steps up to Kais and gives him a solid pat on his shoulder pad. "My good friend, a much d'served welcome back, I say. Some spirits from my wine maidens, yes? Or we could have a few cups of tea and smoke some kektus gren in my office, eh?" -
Alexander approaches the bar and his face lightens up, a large grin on his face at the vast array of bottles and wines and ales. The barkeep takes notice, looking up from her task of polishing the counter to a sparkle. Alexander rests his staff against the bar and sets his fingertips on the bar, and taps them slowly. "What ever shall it be, my lord?", saith the barkeep to Alexander. She speaks with a common accent, but in proper noble language. He pulls on his goatee a bit, as he scans over the labels. Over the whiskey labels, and then the ales, and finally the wines. "Some wine it shall be tonight..", he pauses to read a familiar name "Ildon". Oh good, he thought. "Some of Ildon's wine if thou would be so kind." "Yes, my lord." After a quick nod, she obliges. A chalice of the imperial supply, untarnished silver and gold, quite the display. The wine was sweet, as he had remembered. He takes his staff from the counter and turns around while taking a fair gulp of wine. Much alcohol, no time to try it all, he thinks. He tries to pick out familiar faces from the crowd. It did not take long to find the Sheriff, one of the tallest there. Next to him, someone resembling him, younger, and similar in appearance, at least, as compared to the rest of the nobility. Out of the crowd, he spots Lord Patrick and lifts his beret to show his head as the usual sign of respect, along with the casual smile. "Grammercy to thee, Lord Denims. Quite a sum of my labors for this piece of fabric! I am afraid that I hath naught an inkling of Lord Therving's presence, I hath not seen him here, as of yet."

Aside from the carouse, along the road, through the hills and over by the swamp to the left, rode a man on a steed and two to his flanks close to his rear. As they approached, faces became visible, in the back left was a man about the age of thirty four, his beard was trimmed and black as night. His His horse was the second most grandiose, was draped with velvet and dark dyes of olive and lavender.. The armor of this man was not tarnished by battle for it was his parade armor. The lining of this armor is silver with gold beads. His helmet is of an old fashioned design, and has not been used for many, many a year. Blue in color and the crest was black, with gold painted tips. His chest plate bore the symbol of a goblet. The back right horse was mounted by a man in elegant but not nearly as elegant as the one to his right. It was a simple coat of dark blue. His necklace was silver, with a gold medallion on the end, one cannot see the symbol on the medallion as he is too far to perceive. A hat lay on the top of his head, a traditional bourgeois cap, a beret, in a dark, dark, red. The whole time one was observing the convoy, the three were talking, but too far away to decipher what he was saying. As they approached even closer, one would began to see the fine details of the one in front. At the head of this caravan, a man sat with his back straight and his posture upright, aside from a small slouch to his left. One first notices his head, topped with a beret of olive green silk lay atop his head, lined in gold trim. A blue string, embellished with golden beads, lay on top of the cap, around his head. Locks of his hair come out of the bottom of the beret, brown and well kept, most of his hair is tied in the back, however, into a pony tail. A single lock of hair is braided and at the end of the braid, a golden bead with intricate engravings in it. His eyes never looked around, always seemed to be focused on one area in front of him. His eyes take one quick moment to glance around and make eye contact with most nobles among others. He appeared happy, a smile was on his face the whole trip. His beard was shaped into a Van Dyke, well kept and showing some age, with long, thin streaks of gray. His neck hung many necklaces of various designs, but the most prominent was a medallion, hung by a golden chain. The medallion bore a symbol, it was of two tools together, a square and a compass, a symbol also displayed on his ring on the right middle finger. One did not focus long on his medallion, but on his green, green as an emerald, velvet robes, of old fashioned design, lined in gold bead, each bead as intricate in pattern as the other. The velvet shone in the sun, one can begin to see the outline of armor under his robes. A saber hang at his side, his scabbard is embellished in gold trim and design, with emeralds as the prominent gem in the scabbard. He holds the reigns of his steed in his left hand, while holding a staff, iron, gilded with silver and a golden vine and leaves twisting around it. From the grip hang a small golden chain. The three men stay their steeds. The man on the left clears his throat and speaks with a proper Western accent, being careful to enunciate properly. "Allow me to herald, his right honourable, the Lord High Chancellor of Oren, Count of Hawcaster and Stolistes, Lord of Alandros, Lord of Del Riviera, Alexander de Stolistes" Some guards to the left raise their hand to the band to call for the brass section to begin playing. Alexander steps off his horse, slowly. He waits for the herald to finish before entering the grand hall and looks around for a moment and beckons the other three to follow him. Servants come and take his horses to the stables as they dismount. Alexander disperses into the crowd and heads to the nearest wine and women.

* A teenage boy is posting fliers on the bulletin boards throughout the capitals of the empire. They are not well penned and obviously made by someone with little discipline with a quill. (( rough draft to address the basics of the title and the appointment to it))
-
Alexander peers over at a bulletin board in Arethor, he squints to make out the title "High Sheriff". His brow furrows, and begins to walk closer to read it. He scans the edict and his eyes widen and a grin appears on his face. "Ser Ishikawa, hah! Marvelous!", he thinks to himself as he reads his name.

A lone merchant treks down an old, overgrown cobblestone road. The cobble is covered by moss, presenting a green hue to the entire road, through the vines and low-hanging trees of the swampland. A relic in the distance, made of stone, stands in the swamplands. It is an old, darkened stone sculpture of a goblet, it sags in its foundations and sits off to one side, leaning. The merchant grumbles as he has to push aside vines hanging in the road. The sound of crickets and frogs constantly hangs in the air as the whole land is alive, except the lone stone structure in the distance. When the merchant begins to trek further down the road, the slope increases, the swampland continues no more upon the mighty mountain range that stands after. A stone wall and keep, covered in moss and vines, appear in the distance, topping a mountain, many an hours climb if one were to be so inclined. As he continues up the steep incline up towards the valley between the two mountains. The road is slippery and the donkey behind him slips a few times upon the mossy cobble beneath his hooves. "Steady there, ol' trot!", say the merchant as he tugs on the reins of the ass. He reaches a sign, etched in a flattened rock. Some vines cover it, but still legible. "Alandros". The merchant peered upon the stone structures of the wall, ending where the road trailed into the valley. The walls were covered with vines and moss, the vines had grown to quite complexity, almost forming a natural bond with the stone. He caught his breath from the climb, and continued onward through the stone structure and the walls. He peered over the hills of the valley, wooden buildings with plaster, now brown and green from age. The entire village is an earthy color, complete with the usual vine and mossy exterior. The chimneys still burn as usual in the far side of the village. The bourgeoisie houses are quite dilapidated and overgrown, with not one chimney billowing. He smells the bread baking in the distance, the rain of the swamp nearby, and the cool breeze of the sea to the left, on the cliffs. The merchant recognizes the serf houses, as the ones still working. The farm in the distance is tended to and not very overgrown with weeds. Some farms are, but most aren't. The merchant gazes upon the keep to the left, down the road into the valley, on the highest hill of the valley. It is of foreign design to the merchant's eyes, sharp angles and dark colors. The vines have also taken to this keep, grown all around the towers and main keep, creating a beautiful mix of stone and plant. On the main balcony of the keep, stood an old man. His beard gray, his face with wrinkles around his cheek and eyes. Mayhap in his fifties or so. A beret lay upon his head. He stand there drinking from a goblet, watching over the cliffs, and the waves crashing upon them. An unfinished stone structure lay behind the keep, also overgrown with vines and the like. He tugs on the reins of the donkey and trots along the road, to the right lay a vineyard, still being planted, and new vines in each row. In the distant farms, farmers are at work, slowly making their way along the lines. The bakery and windmill have the most activity, a steady flow of the occasional man walking in, hefting a large bag on his back, in and out.

Declaration Regarding The Punishment Of Bolbie Deadbeard
Electric Wizard replied to VIROS's topic in Asulon Roleplay Archive
Alexander finishes drafting some wanted posters. With a quick signature on each, "Alexander de Stolistes, Count of Hawcaster". A green wax seal lay on the bottom under his signiature, stamped with his sigil. He neatly stacks the posters and sits back lazily in his chair. Content with the proper legal process, he twirls the sigil ring around his finger with a smile on his face. -
Alexander de Stolistes sat in his keep, quite settled and comfortable for a long stint of drafting. He was sketching a church and some designs for it. A golden chalice, bejeweled with green jewels, of a light brown alcohol that is distilled from sugar cane, sits next to his parchment. His family crest is engraved on the front. He takes a puff off of a pipe that was whittled out of a boar's tusk. His fingers feel over the gold and the intricate designs engraved into the side. Knock Knock Knock. The cast iron door knocker resonates the oak door with a deep bellow. It echoes through his keep. Alexander de Stolistes' eyes dart up to the door and he spies a familiar face through the door's window. "Thee may enter, good steward.", Alexander made sure to enunciate as the door is quite thick. He takes a deep drag on his pipe and lets a cloud of smoke out as Vogorn enters. "My lord, I have a message of grand precedence. His imperial majesty has returned!", Vogorn says in his best official language. A smile grows on Alexander's face and he sets his pipe down, his eyelids relax and he rubs his fingers through the goatee on his face. "Fetch my steed, good steward, and thy steed as well. We are to ride to Arethor.", Alexander stands to his feet slowly, he finishes his drink in the chalice beside his paperwork. After a short ride to Arethor, he dismounts his horse. He ties the horse to the stable and walks to the keep. He walks inside the keep and stands off to the side.

[Accepted] Silva Insula (Forest Island)
Electric Wizard replied to Zigge's topic in Asulon Roleplay Archive
I know the builders personally and have been around ever since Forest Island was just the Lucky Goblin's Inn and trees. +1 My support -
Alexander sits lazily at his oak desk. His velvet coat drapes over his chair. A bone pipe is resting on the desk, smoke rising from it slowly. He grasps his iron goblet lightly and takes a generous swig. His courier opens the door, the iron latch clanging as he does. Alexander rests the goblet on the corner of his desk. The courier bows courteously before speaking. "M'lord I bring a letter from his imperial majesty." Alexander motions for him to approach his desk. The courier hands him the letter. He opens the letter and begins to read it. A smile shows slowly on his face. He runs his fingers through his beard as he reads. "Aah very good, I hath been waiting for this for quite some time", saith Alexander to himself. He sets off for the location in the letter. Once arriving, he nods to the others waiting and sits down quickly. He sits idly puffing on his pipe, smiling, thinking to himself.

~ ~~~~ Divinorum ~~~~ ~ The Discovery. Our story of Divinorum starts with the opening of the portal to the Verge. Stolistes, a young monk of the Temple of the Sun, travelled through the portal. He trekked to the further reaches of the Verge, finding anywhere to survive in this new lands. The monk was attacked and he fought off the monsters, often being close to death. One day, Stolistes was walking along the shoreline, he gazed over to the sunset, and saw it was setting behind a small treeline out in the sea. He pitched a tent, and rest for the night. As the sun was rising, he swam out to sea towards the distant treeline. Now illuminated by the sun, he could see that the treeline was two small islands surrounded by aquatic-growing trees, forming a large swampland around it. The Settling. Using only a dull stone axe, he chopped a few trees down, and created a small wooden house on one of the islands. He stayed for the night, protected from the mainland. The next day, he awoke and saw that the island was surrounded by submerged loose cobblestone, a rather large amount. He began to collect the stone, and he made a small cobblestone floor in his house. He made a small path around the small island. The Energy & The Naming. After a few weeks, he began to notice that the trees were growing rather quickly. He noticed a strange feeling, like hair standing up on your neck, around a certain part of the island, and it had so happened that the tallest trees were growing there. Stolistes named this energy, "Divinorum". (( Being a monk, he believes this newfound "energy" to be divine, or part of a spiritual being, while not necessarily being holy, it is just unexplained. )) After a few months, Stolistes had begun a rather formidible settlement at "Divinorum". The swamp began to spread, the trees had stopped growing at a rather large height and had formed a well closed canopy over the water. A few ships had sailed by the island, rather close. He feared one crashing into the island and killing the Divinorum energy, the trees, or him. He had placed several small stone, light holders just above the sea level. The Beginnings of a Settlement. After more months, a full lighthouse was built in the distance, to warn of the island's presence. A large obelisk was built over the energy source, it reaches to the top of the treeline, but not any higher. Stolistes named it the "Altar of the Thirteenth Path of Reth", the Thirteenth Path of Reth is story told to Stolistes as a child, where a mystic travels to a new land and finds sacred ground. (Pictures will be updated and story will be added to later...)
