  1. I am glad to hear that progress has been made and the future of the server is looking brighter, but I am still curious about the decision of the fast travel plugin. The question has probably already been answered somewhere on the forum by a GM, but then I have missed it.
  2. Name: Ferron Andvare MacGowan Place an X besides the name of the candidate you wish to vote for: - Thorin Grandaxe X - Dreek Stormhammer - Davern Frostbeard
  3. "At the edge of the frozen lake outside of the old hold of Vaerhaven, a large crowd has been gathered. The atmosphere is reasonably tense, as more and more people gather at the spot. Something important is about to happen, yet everyone stands quiet around the odd figure in the middle of the crowd. The figure sits still on a couple of stones with a rusty armor, a red cape and a worn-out sword in his left hand, at first sight he looks almost like a statue. The white sprawling beard moves while the old dwarf breathes heavily, you see warm air coming out from the mouth with broken lips. You notice after a moment, that It is the Jarl of the hold, Ferron, which sits in front of you. His working eye suddenly stares at the crowd and the broken lips starts to move" My people, citizens and guests of the hold of Vaerhaven. I am mighty disappointed today... for there has occurred a major issue in the very hold you all live in. A increase of crimes among the population, and not just any crime, but the crime which we all call theft. An action that is a petty crime according to others, a crime that I looked lightly on before, not any more. I was deceived by my own kindness and thought - my people will not do this for they know what is right and wrong. ____________________________________________________________ Now I sit here with the burden, and as the Jarl, it is my duty to solve the problem which has occurred. But I'm not going to solve it with the dwarven law system... I am taking this into the councils... no, my own hands! For this problem is personal, because it is my own people that has been stealing from each other. The people I trusted from the bottom of my dwarven heart. ____________________________________________________________ As you all know, I have welcomed you all with open arms. Everything from refuges to lost souls without a home, into my hold and as a father to his children, I have protected you from the threats of the world. I have given you free homes so you will not freeze any more, I have given you tools to craft your own destiny. I have only asked you to be loyal towards the hold and the people you live among, to protect your home. ____________________________________________________________ In return, what have you given me? This? I did not expect this from you.... ____________________________________________________________ I will not show any mercy for those who steal in my hold, for you have not only stolen from a person, but from a person under my protection. Therefore you have stolen directly from me! You have stolen from the very hand that has been feeding you and if I find anyone guilty, then I will cut off your filthy hands so you can no longer steal, hang you from the cages for months then banish you from the hold forever. This rudeness, this disrespect towards the people, the hold, the holds council and me, shall be dealt with. ____________________________________________________________ What do you have to say in your defence, my people? Speak, I wish to hear what you have to say..
  4. Question for all of you, who has seen the hold Vaerhaven in the dwarven Kingdom? The theme of the settlement is actually Nordic/Viking, with plenty of room to build. We got a pretty big sewer system and a illegal fighting arena in the underground, perfect for discrete bandits, barbarian and scums in general. Just saying.. Instead of starting a whole new viking place, look into that place.
  5. "The bitterness of the cold cracks your lips as you stand with the snow up to your knees, it is in the middle of the day, yet no sun is to be seen on the sky. It almost feels like that the snow never stops to fall in these valleys of the mountains. A shame that this ancient land has forgotten the touch of spring and summer. The wonderful feeling of the sun's energy on your chins, a certain warm feeling which the terrifying knight in front of you has probably never felt. The air around his armor is mighty cold, as if they were not born in fire, but in the deepest hole of the abyss. His worn red cloak flutters in the wind as he sits on his steady brown horse, warm air echoes out from his very lungs. The knight's scarred face is hard to see clearly for his hood, yet you can still feel his gaze upon you. Nevertheless he is silent, waiting for you to ask your questions...." What is this place? You stand in the proud dwarven kingdom of Urguan, one of the mightiest nations in the world of Anthos. Behind me is the hold of Vaerhaven, a hold which is located within the immediate territory of the Kingdom of Urguan. ____________________________________________________________ Who is the ruler around here? The Dwarven King rules over the entire kingdom of Urguan, however the leader over the hold of Vaerhaven has the title Jarl. The hold is managed independently by the Jarl and his men, but if the Dwarven King calls for the Jarl, he cannot refuse the will of the King. The Jarl who is in command of the Vaerhaven hold is named Ferron Andvare MacGowan, he has chosen to rule the hold with a council, together with two local lords, Rosso and Killeki. ____________________________________________________________ Who lives in the hold? Even thought this is in the dwarven country, there are plenty of different races who lives together in peace at the hold of Vaerhaven. Humans, elves, dwarves and many more, but no orcs has yet to reach the place. ____________________________________________________________ How do I require a home here? You must speak with one of the members of the council, the Jarl or one of the two lords, for a short interview. There might be some aspects that might stop you from joining the town, however when you have been accepted you are free to come & go as you wish at any time. You'll receive more information about your home & the hold after the interview. ____________________________________________________________ Are there any rules? The Hold of Vaerhaven follows the official rules & laws of the Kingdom of Urguan, the articles of Urguan. One part of the article is highlighted for the hold, Section G. Otherwise you will follow the unofficial rules of the hold: No stealing from the hold's residents, or you'll hang in the cages No murdering the hold's residents, or you're hanged No changing of the limits of the home, which have been given to you, without concent, or your home might fall apart. Treat everyone with respect and they will treat you with respect in return. Talk about fish is mandatory at least once every three days. Fights, only in the arena, spectators must cheer and demand blood. ____________________________________________________________ I have a few more questions I wish to ask... Go ahead, I am all ears. ____________________________________________________________

  7. *In the black of night, you walk a lonely road. Under the whispering green, you wander through the forest silently. It had been a few days since you had eaten properly and your small rations of jerky and travelers' bread in the leather bag was due to run out soon. To hunt, was not an option in this place, for there are some things much worse than hunger if you strayed from the path. All of a sudden, a shimmering light appears in front of your eyes along the old road. Though you know deep down that it could mean danger, you carelessly continued wander towards the light. As you leap over a small ruin wall and slipping between a few trees you finally notice the dwarf, calmly sitting at the fire* A traveler? Do sit down and share bread with me beneath this black sky ;the dwarf says unsurprisingly, with a steady and deep voice. Almost enchanted by the scene you sit down without a fuss, on the opposite side of the fire and recieves a piece of bread from the unknown dwarf. While you unhurriedly take a bite from the bread, the dwarf looks upon you, across the fire, with a exhausted face and says: I am a courier from the Hold of Vaerhaven, in the dwarven kingdom of Urguan. I have been given the task by the Jarl of Vaerhaven, Ferron Andvare MacGowan, to find a number of people on my list for citizenship in the hold. Perhaps you are one of those that I seek in this world? What is your name, stranger?

  12. I apologies for saying this, but there has appeared a few issues with the snow elven lore and the settlement. From the beginning the place was supposed to be inhabited mostly by NPC's which players would have been able to trade and interact with. The area was planned to be a neutral place for all races, even for those who are without a permit, within the Kingdom Of Urguan. Dwarves, outsider dwarves and other races would all live in the settlement and trade as they wished with the snow elves. The area would still be ruled under the dwarven king and uphold the treaties and a twist of the laws of the Articles of Urguan. I was informed a few weeks ago that the plugin, which was the key to the npc's, won't be on the server since there are too much of a trouble with it. The project with the settlement had already begun several months ago when I & Jistuma were finally informed about the situation. It was then decided not to remove the whole settlement, since it had already gotten so far and I & Jistuma had put down too much work into the area. Therefore I have a suggestion on the matter: My dwarven character "Ferron Andvare MacGowan" will instead rule the snow elven settlement as a Jarl. Ferron is no stranger in the world of Lotc for he has existed since the time of early Asulon. He was a respected leader over the independent settlement "Silva Insula" also known as the "Forest Island" which laid south of the Dwarven Kingdom, East of Somerset and west of the old "Renatus" (Also known as the "The Holy Oren Empire"). It was a giant city with around the population of 25 members with walls thicker than a dwarven belly and harder than the mountains of the north. There is a lot of history behind it, however I will spare you the details. When the map of Asulon disappeared, so did the settlement which I had spent many months of building with my members. There is no history what happened with it, nor with Ferron. This makes it is easy to come up with a lore. I will borrow He-Be Eye-Ron-Gut's small ap for this: Jarl: Ferron Andvare MacGowan Location: Snow Elf Place (Will be named, suggestions?) Purpose: Neutral grounds for all races as well as supplying the kingdom with soldiers and siege engines. Reasons for this settlement: 1. Neutral grounds for Roleplay 2. Recruit and train Soldiers 3. Siege engines 4. Lore Buildings: Jarl Castle, Walls, Temple, Houses, Tavern, Blacksmith, Towers, Fishing area, Market, Warehouse, Slums, Workshops, Training/fighting facilities and Guild Areas. Allegiance: Kingdom of Urguan Races living: All kinds of races. Will it agree to abide the treaties and laws of the Articles of Urguan: Yes I had a weird idea in my mind not too long ago about a mixed race regiment which would serve as a low ranked force in the Kingdom of Urguan. Their main purpose would be to serve as engineers, reinforcement or as "cannon fodder" before the dwarven legion's goes into the heat of the battle. Also, the naming of the settlement. Is it crucial that it is to be named by using of the old dwarven language or can I name it as I wish, for example "Silva Novus"? In the honour of the old city.
