Ashwoods trees aren't allowed due to the fire property and their extremely durable bark, I'd be abused if allowed.

Focused on this part and reason, the other prior points addressed.

Are all Implemented Trees/Flora able to become Fae Plants, except for Ashwood trees?

    For example,

This would being highly resistant to fire due to the moisture it retains. When not becomes highly flammable. Then followed with, After about a minute of touching it without protection the area of contact will be left dried out with minor frostbite.

  2. It is stated that an alchemical herb can be a fae plant, however never specify if the fae plant retains its symbols / signs to use in alchemy.

    • The chosen fae plant cannot be a plant which is rare enough to require an event to acquire or possess any magical properties. For instance, a voidal reagent or ashwood tree can never be a fae plant, while alchemical herbs can.

    • Medicinal, toxic, or alchemic properties of a chosen fae plant are not inherited by the epiphyte.

In the quote above, it isn't stated explicitly thatt hey do not carry signs / symbols over. Whereas in the quote below it does in the ability 'Budding'. Can you rephrase the redline to specify as it can be interpreted differently.

Replicated herbs do not possess any of the alchemical signs or uses of their original herb. For instance, drake's tail cannot be processed for neither the base nor the signs of a blasting potion.

In addition, it comes to queation that the CA is also made of the plant matter of your fae plant. Again no redlines stating it doesn't contain the alchemical symbols / signs.

Epiphytes exist essentially as a collection of plant material which bears a close resemblance to their original self. Despite this similar appearance, not one part of their body is of their old descendant self, all fundamentally remade out of the same material as their fae plant.

Also why are ashwood tree seed not be allowed as it doesn't require ST overview to acquire now?

Sad to hear illusion enchantments are better than illusion magic. :(

Tho I thought the idea of this amendment was to make mages better than their enchantments? Seems if shields last indefinitely in the area of greater mana, it's just the edge enchantments needed to become better than mages at their limited spell pool.

The way I look at it, the story team or more specifically PXY is looking at voidal magic and potential fixes/amendments to the overall magic system.

If we provide feedback it can assist them and the team looking into things for future assistance. This amendment is only tackling the enchantment portion of transfiguration magic. To which if we provide feedback and suggestions could be something the team looks into within the future or currently for changes.

Having amended to state that warding shields last indefinitely unless dealt with is a buff to enchantments but that doesn't prevent another addition to state if you cast whilst in greater mana the spell will do the same. It'll take a charge/mana to build up but when cast if within a greater source of mana lasts indefinitely unless dealt with.

  4. 2 hours ago, Samler said:

@PXYDid you add this section afterwards?

"- Should the enchantment be a shield-based, barrier spell; it will last indefinitely during the combative encounter unless dealt with."
If so, you just made the shield spells better through the use of enchantments compared to that of voidal mages.

As the voidal mages need to concentrate during the entire duration of the shield spells, sometimes with reduced movement. Seems to go against your point?

As for aiming the projectile spell, how does one aim with an amulet?

Illusion enchantments are better than illusion magic also,

Casting is limited to emotes. Enchantments limited to narrative time.

Anyway, a fix will come to that soon. To the actual shield thing, maybe put it will last indefinitely unless dealt with while in a area of greater mana, eg- mana obelisk. Similar to illusion enchantments.

Stuff like that redline needs to be specified, or else players with automaton characters would assume they can go through with RP like obtaining a holy magic, or becoming a mystic - when that lore requires for characters to have souls to practice.  It might be an obvious redline, but obvious rules still need to be stated to avoid people trying to cheese the system

As for "filters" to be treated to their eyes, I'd argue it wouldn't be possible - far too broad of a thing to write on, while also ensuring there are rules where players don't abuse it by getting eye prosthetics that are permanently treated with arcana flow or catseye.  Aimii characters can still use alchemy-treated gear the same as anyone else, if they're designed to be smart enough to handle it

Thank you for the fast reply. I appreciate it.

I can understand it all and agree, my worry was the treatment to visual modules weren't specified.

Otherwise thank you for the reply.

  6. I like the lore rewrite a lot and have specified areas which needed to be listed.

I am curious though why you specifically mentioned,

Anime Crafters can add things onto their creations, be it something as simple as making a finger open up to be a pen, to something as having a spring loaded blade come from their wrist. It should be noted that these gadgets should make sense and incorporate some realism (for example, there’s no way an automaton can have a greatsword loaded in their arm, discreetly). In addition, one must consider weight and possible complications to the creation. One example of this would be mounting some sort of massive crossbow, which would -- if attached to the arm or back -- hinder some movement

Would this mean you can add more "equipment" to the design in exchange removing block speed?

Automatons do not possess any mana whatsoever, and may not learn magics which require one to hold a soul of any kind.

This seems like an odd specification. Though I'm sure it has its reason to be here.

Would it also be possible to specify with visual modules on prosthesis to state if they can have altered spectrums?, as example could they have a module that makes them see black & white? Be treated with alchemy? Eg- the alchemy potion which allows them to see mana.

Otherwise solid piece and I don't have much of any other feedback!

  7. I like the idea of tackling voidal magic and looking to make changes and fixes to it and amend some parts. Especially if they don't embark a nerf to existing parts of void magic *users*.

To the changes in this post I can agree looking this over that the change can be good however tweaked a bit. Your first suggestion of lesser enchantments I can be 100% down for.

The other two suggestions of increasing emotes for non-void mages is something I can also agree on, however as others have said the 2-3 extra emotes are a bit too much of a deterrent looking over some of the spells.

If it was moved to 1-2 extra emotes specifically that could be an interesting change I can get behind. I understand the issues of getting craft magic's and people pumping them out for "selling" purposes and this being a potential fix to it.

I would possibly also push a bigger emphasis on the "limitations" on enchantments as they're not really enforced, especially since it is one line specified in the lore.

More specifically, outline that when activating an enchantment you're limited to x movement and have limited actions. You have to hold the enchantment till cast, ext. I did not cross reference these things and coming from memory but I believe it's either mentioned once or twice in a single line. If we detail the limitation further it could also decrease sale as people would see the enchantment effectiveness diminish if it has deterrents more than its power. A mage shouldn't see an issue in this however since they're also limited by such limitations when casting their own magic.

    Just some of my thoughts,

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

The illusionary Palantir is a nigh-indestructible object appearing as a glass-like sphere emanating voidal influence, activating on presence alone when someone enters its radius of command. When thought with direction of movement with hands, or spoken is directed to the Palantir, it will materialise a glamour or figment of the object(s) within its radial influence. The speaker or gestures to activate and manipulate the illusions on the Palantir would cast a visible radius emanating from the speaker/caster.

The Palantir will act similar to that of a 4D projection screen in which individuals can move through its radial influence and not disrupt the illusion cast. Utilised extensively through teaching through the presentation of work, stances or examples of magic. The Illusionary Palantir would also be significantly utilised in the art of storytelling, able to create a glamour of the environment surrounding its influence and figments by replicating scents or contriving heightened or lessened senses all the better to match what is presented before it.

To command the Palantir one would have to bind oneself to it, either through assistance from a voidal mage 'co-enchanting'  mana to bind a non-voidal mage, or sending mana through it.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    • Non-combat MArt, when combat starts within its sphere of influence, the illusions will break through two emotes.

    • The artifact takes -3- emotes to startup. Activation -> Charge -> Set -> Illusions from this point can be created. Once the artifact is ready to form illusions they will take a single emote to form and able to change/move freely as one works it.

    • The illusions created through the Palantir, will have distortions similar to that of regular illusion. The distortion occurs on every 4th emote, though the illusion will never ‘break’ being always visible even if those round know it is an illusion.

    • The illusion is a visible and broadcasted in an area, not directly affiliated to the mind of those who enter, causing the illusion to be seen even if outside the radius of influence or if you’re a being who doesn’t have a mind to ‘comprehend’ illusions.

    • The illusions created would take a single emote to create/graft into existence after activation of the artifact.

    • The Radius of the Illusionary Palantir influence is similar to a full broadcast illusion of a capable T5 caster of Illusion. Broadcast illusions being at most 20x20x20 m3.

    • Requires thought with hand or similar direction and or spoken word to be directed at the Palantir for the illusion(s) to be created. The speaker or gestures to activate and manipulate the illusions on the Palantir would cast a visible radius emanating from the speaker/caster.

    • Utilisation of the Palantir to teach/lesson craft lessons are able to be done, however requires the person to have a current and accepted TA in the subject they teach.

    • Multiple commanding the Palantir at once will cause illusion(s) to disrupt and create non-desired glamours/figments.

    • The Palantir ‘recharges’ itself and is connected to the void. It cannot be used to ‘recharge’ anything but itself.

    • Made from Solid Arcanium, the Palantir would find itself extremely resilient to attacks from sharp/brute force weapons. Requiring repeated attacks with a blunt like object to crack and eventually break. 6+ swings. If hit with Abjuration like abilities, it will take one solid hit from abjuration to disable the enchantment requiring activated. Though 6+ hits in total will break it if the Palantir is directly hit.

    • The object cannot be moved when activated.

    • The thought/speaker commanding the Palantir will be limited to 3-block movement. and limitations of working with an enchantment.

    • You have to bind yourself to an Illusionary Palantir to use it, sending your mana initially in it or 'co-enchanting' with transfiguration for non-voidal mages. The 'binding' is permanent. You will be added to the artifact under ‘possession’. When done, you can activate the enchantment.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

Throughout the Art of Transfiguration and Artificer crafting the tricky high elf has tried to formulate and easier path for teaching and showcasing examples to his students without expending his own mana and command a presence of illusion to better fit his teaching practices. The tricky elf has created something akin to a gift, taking ahold of a sphere made of voidal metal(s) and that of a void imbued object he carefully breaks it into three pieces as they retain its original properties of a minute mana would flow through it recharging the artifact(s) passively without a mana obelisk influence. Manifesting a non-sentient mind within to store the illusions and holding them in place when spoken, creating new and existing stories or showcases. The piece can 'save' illusions to be utilised another time.

    Tl;dr-

The Illusionary Palantir(s) magic utilises Sensory Illusion in its entirety. Through transfiguration and binding a ‘voidal-touched stone’ in the heart of the arcanium casing, the object can recharge itself.

  9. RP Signs

    Plugin Guide

The tech team wants to introduce you to a new plugin being introduced to the server. Interactive signs enhance roleplay descriptions and take up less space describing scenarios.

This overview and guide will take you through the plugin and everything you’re able to do, we’ll first go into the commands.

The interface can be opened by looking at a blank sign and typing “/rpsign”.

    7ORsCdneQ3WeG0H-16YbucD1ubspukSgkhrEuyWdfE1gKptimP55WXhlisuxCDkag_8QE9p3jGbth8bXT8dj4cg0hp1IVgyAtBIwzQGaPY9_CKHA7hIKVr9-778jm73LCQ8sPKd6Bem-gn0E_EDExyMNHaQQBofB6CNcwBMTvfB3SnkIwBY

Continuing to write in this field and not touching the following commands will put a Minecraft text limit of 256 characters. When your message is written out and press enter, the sign will be complete, and your message will be saved.

Your chatbox will show an example of the sign's new text and an example of the characters you’ve typed.

    10JUFRUd3QkNAEDi9b8Q4fwy456yOlZ9QStacHs_acDN5GqKyxbd1hTNyHcjxnGe0rEi9eksKyl0JGESD4Rag0BF9rIdEx85Ld3jF1FWZ8FkMnEc7Hk3vsxWCpaXB2j0QAufAESMlQVEAJhWLBp79pmoEv3-Qr6l0AcK1o4ykBIIk9Hd4RY

Presented with the interact text, you now right-click the sign to display the saved message.

Further information will be listed below explaining the other commands and functions of RP Signs. The below commands would only work once an RP sign has been created.

You may add images to your text messages, and they will be presented similar to how they’re viewed in chat.

Typing in “/rpsign display” will give you several more options; all these options change the interact text listed on the sign.

    “--custom”
    “--default”

    “--note”

    “--painting”

    “--poster”

  10. Although the auction house has its issues, I believe it helps out communities not in the main time zone.

I would've never been able to purchase some of thr stuff I currently have on my persona due to never encountering the item or player myself. The AH offers that to me which is something I like.

Selling items however such as enchantments comes the issue of contention.

I believe if there was a way to limit the AH to selling material components, such as botany, building blocks, mining resources, food, ext. Including lore resources such as boomsteel, crystals, ext. It can be good.

The completed items are the issue since they offer the most valuable item on the menu for people to bid.

So your issues lie with spectral solution and death dispersion.

True sight - makes you see the dead.

Spectral solutions - makes you believe you're dead, able to create physical objects the dead can hold and, makes it possible for you to see the dead.

The issue for this potion is the last part particularly?

Scrubbing ritual - 12m area of a ward for ectoplasm creation/movement. The ward breaks ties of phantoms to the location and small phantoms can be hurt.

Death dispersion - 6m gaseous radius that inflicts phantom pain on dead things and paranoia while inside.

So while they have similarities there are differences, the ritual seems to have a big emphasis on a no go zone, more specifically

    Quote
    • Scrubbing will effectively nullify any attempt to conjure ectoplasm within the region, whether by a mystic or a phantom (i.e. walling, deadbreath, etc).

It seems to ward off areas or utilised to destroy a phantom if enough mystics are present.

The potion, only creates a damage area which still allows mystic magic and ectoplasm to pass through. Only inflicting phantom pain if the dead enter. It offers something new and doesn't copy or take inspiration as the two share the same theme, they do not share the same ability.

    Hopefully this helps.

  12. Quote

Other than that, I don't see the reasoning for making all of these rare (barring perhaps Death Dispersion.)

    6 hours ago, rdowdy said:

I find these really interesting, especially the idea of preserving someone in a vat, and well that does feel a little similar to Tawkin, Tawkin is about creating, not preserving so I think it's solid. The only one I have real issue with is death dispersion which feels a little over-the-top due to how widely it effects the spook community. Typically something that shuts down such a wide group of CAs has either a lot of downsides or is limited in nature. This isn't really either.

I think people misread what death dispersion does, if I need to clarify I can.

The creatures can walk/run/jump/power dive, ext through the area either when within or outside. As you can move 4 blocks per emote or 8 if focused on sprinting. You can run directly through it with only feeling a cut on your arm.

If you stay inside the mist is when the damage ticks. If that makes more sense.

To why they're all listed as rare, I wanted them to be spread through role-play than others having base knowledge of them. I have a set plan on teaching 4+ people if accepted and hope they spread it out from there.
