Well this is truly maddening... An elf killing another elf... For without just cause. Intolerable is is. Blast it! -smacks the side of his fist against a nearby tree as his eyes start to glow a faint blue- The Undead are damned enemy, not our own kin. We should be trying to extinguish their lights, not each others. And yet no one seems to know better and we always end up squabbling over one thing or another in this not so graceful plan to destroy the undead! I can say, without much doubt, a day will come when decisions must be made and be acted upon in an instant, none of this drolling on and on about how we must do this first or that last. I will not be surprised if Laurlien will burn whilst the Princes and Princesses squabble about trying to get something done while the forest caves-in atop them!

-You find a somewhat well-sized book resting on your bedside; Opening it up, you notice the massive amount of papers sticking out here and there in between pages; Intrigued, you start to read- The craziness I once felt that day, that one day, it seemed so, oddly enough, right... I can confess, for a good at, what I guess, ten minutes, I was well and truly mad. And it felt wonderful. A red haze enveloped me, but I saw clearer then I could ever see before. I fought not only with my bow, but also with my rage. My rage... It seems so willing to be unleashed when I experience pain inflicted upon my flesh... such primordial thing it is... and yet once again it felt so right. I could tell who was the threat and I felt that I could take his throat and rip it out without consequence. Yet still, I felt compassion for those I defended, I could not bear to see them hurt, and yet still could I speak clearly enough, insane as the words I spouted sounded. I felt like a wolf, hunting in the night, a primordial being, a being with the rage of molten rock, but with the patience and cunning of cold stone. And again it felt amazingly right. I felt filled with complete and utter rage, a thing not to be messed with, a thing wanting to be drenched in the blood of his enemies. It still felt wonderful. Yet in the eye of the hell-storm, there was a piercing calm, a perfect clarity, knowing when to strike and how to. And it felt right. I dodged so many of his sword strikes, until I eventually came to pierce his eye with the blade of my arrow, stabbing him right in his iris, my hands holding the shaft of it. And with that it ended. The game was done, the pawns spent. And yet, the person who I thought was done for, had yet another ace in his sleeves, a friend, a friend who forced me away, and so the one who caused so much hurt, hate, and rage escaped from me. And so I ran, not wishing to hurt anyone else who was not involved. I fled, I fled deep into the forests of Laurlien... -You try to read further, but you find that you cannot open the pages further, at the bottom of the page you find written in much more recent ink- 'All in Due Time' OOC: More to come soon

The Worst has come to pass... Yet I see even blacker storms on the horizon... The game has been set, the table is ready, yet what are we to do... I can tell you what we must do... we must strike the undead now... Before more cities fall... And If only I could say how... -

Looks about, the roar near untolerable, and he lays his eyes upon the pitiful, twisted creature. Rutheniel freezes up, and hides quickly from sight.

((I am usually online between 5:00 and 9:30 EST)) I hope in your travels you stay safe, I simply wonder, will you be asking for pay from me to be growing wheat and other such items, or would you simply journey outward and sell them in say Laurlien or Al'Khazar? May Fortune Be Found, -Rutheniel Alektanda

The Viridian Bar calling all Performers!
Rutheniel replied to Pikel Boldshoulder's topic in Aegis Roleplay Archive
-looks up as a formerly pinned notice flies into his face, nearly making him fall off the road- What the-?! -Pulls Flyer off of his face, then looks it over- Oh? An Bit of a Show going on at an Inn? I guess I should go... I certainly do have a few things I can perform... -Laughs, then lights his pipe, igniting the page as well, and watches as the burning ashes scatter about in rings and clouds- -
Hmm... I usually see iron ingots go for 20 minas per ingot... The current amount I am deducting from the price is the price of coal. Now then, I am sorry about the asking price of the gold ore, I am inexperienced in the prices of ores so I thought that would be an even amount; What would you suggest the price of the gold ore set to be?

*You see a rather large scroll stood up against the frame of your bed* Hello Person of Aegis, My name is Rutheniel, of the Elven House Alektanda, and I have left this scroll for you to read. Seeing as Ravenhold, as well as the Sister City, has recently been attacked, I shall hand over to you this, the history of my small town, Ampteris, in the hopes that if it is attacked as Ravenhold was, It's legacy will live on. And So, I shall begin to tell the tale of Ampteris. Part One: The Roots The spot that would eventually become founding place for the town of Ampteris was like any other place in the Wilds, overgrown with wild grasses and flowering plants. The entirety of the area was encircled by water, which could be walked alongside until one could nearly reach Laurlien itself, and was sparse for trees, oddly enough. An Elf, young and still eager to prove himself, even though he had been put down several times by his fellows for his ideas of building a safe haven in the Wilds, ventured forth from his home in the Capital City of Oren, Al'Khazar, as he had moved away from the constant clamor of his kin in Laurlien. He wandered around the Wilds for days, then weeks, subsisting only upon the wild apples that grew upon the trees, until he walked up upon an island, the spot where Ampteris would start to built, and knew he had found the perfect spot for his haven. He immediately set to work building a cottage for himself, in which he could stay safe during the night. This house was initially built from the few trees that grew upon the island, though he spared the largest of them and planted many more. It was this house that would eventually become the smithy, where many a blade would be forged. At that moment though, all he used the forges for was to create glass for windows. He grew proud of his work, his little cottage with it's nice glass windows, and ever more so, he grew glad that he had set out to explore in the Wilds, for much had they yielded to him. Part Two: Alone After spending the next few days asleep, for he was very much tired from both building and from the long march he had taken in order to get to where he was, the elf decided to explore the island further. He poured over every detail of the island with vigor. He saw a faint glow coming from a nearby cave. As he crept forward, wary of cave-ins, he found the source of the light in the dark, a single, nearly burned up torch. He found several other caves as well, all of which had burned out torches, something he found a bit unnerving, along with a very decrepit house. The floor of it had nearly sunk into the ground and was partially made of trampled earth, and the walls were made of long rotted wood, with bits and pieces of stone interspersed along with it. Decrepit as it was though, the Elf knew it was bound to belong to someone, and so he did not so much as touch it. Though he explored further, he found nothing else of value. For the next intermittent months, he dug a mine until he could dig no further, and then moved back and forth between there, Laurlien, and Al'Khazar, buying all that he could not find on the island. Several travelers also passed through during this time, but none of them ever decided to stay. The Elf grew lonely by himself, so he started to stay in an all around nice place called the Treetops Inn, which still stands to this day, near Laurlien. It was here he finally made friends in several persons. These people were Alys, a fellow elf, Torok, a human, Thistel, now a druid, Alvy, a man of armor, and Darrius, a dwarf. He spoke with all of them frequently and happily. He worked up his courage and finally asked them if they would wish to join him, out there in the Wilds. Of them, only Thistel, Alvy, and Darrius agreed to go with the elf. Yet, that was not to be. Not soon after they had set off for the island, a call to arms was issued, and they responded hastily to it. A great and grievous battle was fought at an undead stronghold. Many lives were lost then, but the four survived still, though seperated were they. The elf found Darrius, bereft of most of his belongings after a fireball burned them away, but saw nothing of Alvy or Thistel after the battle. After a week and a half of recuperation and retrieving items lost, both Alvy and Thistle were both unable to be found, but Darrius and the elf were once again ready to go out to the place he had found. and Darrius set to work building a house of his own, while the elf busied himself finding things they would undoubtedly need for the village that was now springing up And that does close the current history of the town of Ampteris. Peace reigns there for the moment, and much land is open for those who wish to settle therein. I do hope for someone to... Whether they be Orc, Elf, Dwarf, or Human, it matters little... Good Day to You and May Fortune be Found. -Rutheniel Alektanda

Hello People of Aegis. I wish to buy several kinds of ores to which to forge with. Mainly, I wish to have much Iron so I may forge swords and armor and the like for others. However, gold I will also accept, for its beauty, natural value, and uses in... other areas of expertise. Here is my offer, One Vein of Iron Ore for say... 19 minas? as well as One Vein of Gold Ore for about 38 Minas I am hoping for about 16 veins of Iron Ore and 6 veins of Gold Ore. Contact me in Laurlien or the Nearby Treetops Inn.

Ravenhold? Burned to ashes? That is... Unreal... I have been there many a time, mostly just passing through to my own town, most recently less than a week ago... I am lucky that I was not there when she attacked... I fear that Ravenhold may not ever be restored... wherever undead tread and burn... the area is undoubtedly tainted and scarred... My own town has gone relatively unscathed... perhaps those displaced by Lirinya's rampage could stay there for a time? A tavern is already open there and there are many lots that are open to those willing to come.

*catches one such paper as it flits past, then smiles happily* Hmm... I will most definitively be there. Nothing less for an old friend of mine. I do hope no one decides too crash it... *fingers his pipe, carefully folds up the invitation, and continues on his way, humming giddily*

If you would be willing, Ampteris is always looking for new faces, and new workers. Miner, Builder, Brewer, or other, we are always open to everyone.
-
Alright then, I shall be there as soon as I am able.
-
19 minas and the deal is good, sir. The price for certain other amenities has gone up a bit since you may have last checked.
-
Hello then! I am looking for some iron ore to buy, preferably at around 18 minas or so. Around 30 or so veins are the hopeful amount I will be willing to buy. I will be hanging around the area of Laurlien an' the nearby Treetops Inn. Also, I am willing to buy some fletching feathers. ((One Vein= One Block))
-
Do you happen to have any un-smelted Iron ore? I would be willing to by some if the price was lowered to 19 minas per vein. Edit: ((Also, Where are you in Al'khazar?))
